"I promise I will come back and see you immediately if I get horrible pain after they kick me." I promised my father, as I allowed my mates to lead me out of the room.

Chapter 37

One month after promising my father to contact him if the children hurt me, we ended up with a new director. Her name was Charlotte Mearing. She was intense, to be polite about things. I couldn't stand her, and her overbearing attitude? It drove me up a wall!

"Hello, ma'am," I said, when we were introduced. She quickly turned her head to glare at me, which kind of made me gulp. . . I had faced down horrible criminals, and a woman, Charlotte Mearing, could make me freeze in terror? That tells you something about her.

"Do I look like a ma'am?" She asked me, obviously upset that I would refer to her as an inferior counterpart to a male.

"Uh, yes?" I offered, my brows furrowing in confusion. She just huffed and walked away from me. I had a feeling that our relationship would be rocky to say the least. Sideswipe wrapped an arm around me from behind, causing me to jump in fright, as I hadn't heard him.

"Calm yourself, love," Sideswipe murmured into my ear. I turned in his arms, and rested my head above his spark.

"I thought we would have a better director, than Galloway." I spoke into his shirt. "I really liked Goldfinger. He was perfect, not around too much, never imposing his views on us."

"I know," Sideswipe soothed me, running a hand down the back of my head.

"Anyway, who are you?" Charlotte Mearing's voice came closer again, and I tightened my hold on Sideswipe. I even dug my fingernails into his back, causing him to grunt out in pain.

"I am Sideswipe, one of the Autobot's Frontliners." Sideswipe stated proudly, even though he was taunt with pain, from my fingernails.

"Why are you holding onto a human?" She asked. I whimpered, fearing for the continual of our relationship.

"She is my sparkmate." Sideswipe said, soothing me by rubbing circles onto my back.

"Mine as well." Sunstreaker spoke from the left side of Sideswipe. He must have come up when Sides was comforting me.

"How can she be a mate to the both of you? You two are robots." She stated. My dislike for this woman was growing by the moment.

"Yes, while we do realize that, our sparks reached out to hers, and in return she as well shared her love with us." Sunny replied. I melted at that statement, one of the nicest things Sunny would probably say to this woman.

"Well, I do not think that it is right, nor that it should continue." Sideswipe and Sunstreaker both growled at that. Sideswipe tightened his hold on me, while I felt, rather than heard, Sunstreaker move in front of me.

"That would not be wise, Director Mearing." Optimus spoke at that moment, finally realizing what was going on.

"And why not?" Mearing spat. "The president must not be aware of this, and I do not think that he would allow this to continue."

"You cannot and will not tear these three apart." Optimus warned her, his voice as warm as ever, but there was a note to it that made me want to tremble.

"And why is that?" Mearing obviously had no idea of self - preservation.

"Because these two would go to the pit and back for their sparkmate." Optimus said. "That is if you are able to get her away from them."

"Yeah." Jazz spoke up. "I hone'ly don' see ya getting her away from dem."

"Nah, man. They'ze cool!" Mudflap or Skidz said, making me roll my eyes at their childishness. I often wondered what their age was equivalent to in human years.

"Hmm." She just hummed.

"Plus, the president has given us the ok to go along with our wedding," I finally spoke in defense of my relationship. I turned in Sideswipe's arms, feeling them caging me to Sides like an impenetrable fence.

"Wedding?" She snorted. Then she looked at my stomach. "And already pregnant?" Sunny growled lowly at her veiled accusation.

"We are already married in Cybertronian customs, Director Mearing." I replied, keeping my tone civil with this irritating woman. "However, I wanted to go forth with Earth or rather Human customs and become married to them in a way that I am familiar with. They both agreed."

"Yes," Optimus agreed. "I am presiding over the ceremony as well as Captain Lennox, who has authorization to perform such a ceremony."

"Very well then." Mearing still made me uneasy. I had a bad feeling something was going to happen. Something was going to happen very soon. Something that was going to change our lives, and probably not for the better. "Optimus, will you please show me the files of the missions you have been deployed on, before I came into this position?" Optimus obliged her, and led her away. For that I was grateful. Anything to be out of her presence.

"Sunny," I said, quietly. It did the trick and broke through his gladiator programming. He turned, once the threat was gone, and quickly took me from Sideswipe's hold.

"Hey, now." He said quietly into my hair. He wrapped me in his comforting hold.

"Sunny, something is going to happen. Something that will change everything we know." I said, muffled into his shirt. He stood still, tense, but then went back to comforting me.

"Why do you say that sweetling?" Sunny asked, probably exchanging a glance with his brother.

"Because I know!" I said a little desperately. "I can feel it!" I clutched onto Sunstreaker like he was my lifeline.

"Alright, sweetspark." Sideswipe soothed, pulling me away from his golden brother. "Let's get you some rest, alright?"

"Yeah. C'mon lil' lady." Jazz encouraged me. Finally I let them drag me out of the hangar and into the rec room, where I was seated on a sofa. Sunny and Sides hovered over me for the remainder of the night, until it was time to go to sleep. I fell into an uneasy recharge that night.
