Over three years passed, and the twins had just turned four.
Both children had been told about the adventures their parents went on.
They enjoyed vacations to Ember Island.
Korra could already bend the other elements, but she had kept it from her parents.
Kazuo knew there was something special about his sister, and one day he caught Korra bending the other elements.
"What are you doing?" Kazuo asked in awe and a little fearful.
"I'm the Avatar," said Korra as she bent water, then earth, and finally fire.
"Can you airbend too?" Kazuo asked, curiously.
Korra concentrated and tried to bend, but nothing happened.
"Are you going to tell Mom?" Kazuo asked.
"There you two are," called Zuko at a distance, as he approached rapidly. "I found them."
"Thank goodness," said Senna.
Zuko carried them back to Tonraq and Senna's igloo.
"What were you two up to? Kaito told us you wandered off," said Zuko.
Korra and Kazuo narrowed their eyes at the other child who was by his mother's leg.
"You guys left me behind," said Kaito.
"I'm sorry," said Kazuo, as he nudged his sister.
"I'm sorry, too," said Korra.
"So what were you up to?" Senna asked in a gentle and curious tone.
"Er," Kazuo looked at his sister.
"We'll tell you when Mom gets here," said Korra.
Later, Katara, Tonraq, and Sokka came to the igloo with meat and fish.
"We brought meat," said Sokka.
"What's going on? It's awfully quiet," said Katara.
"Korra has something she wants to tell us," said Zuko.
"I'm the Avatar," said Korra.
Katara made a strange face, then she composed herself and said, "Is that so?"
"It's true," said Kazuo, thinking his mother didn't believe his sister. "I saw her bend water, earth, and fire."
"I-I see," said Katara.
"Let's go in the other room. You can show me your bending," said Senna to Korra, as she led the children into another room.
Katara went over to Zuko and whispered, "She's the Avatar."
Zuko put his arms around her and held her close. Then replied, "Yes."
Katara placed her head against Zuko's chest and cried softly.
Sokka and Tonraq stored the meat and gave Zuko and Katara a few moments of privacy.
"You knew didn't you?" Katara asked softly. Zuko wiped the tears from Katara's cheeks.
"Yes, Aang told me," said Zuko somberly.
"She's going to have to save the world," said Katara as she smiled sadly.
"Yes, but that might not be for a while," said Zuko.
"Sokka and Tonraq do you need help?" Katara asked them.
Sokka and Tonraq came back.
"No. It's put away," said Tonraq.
"So, Korra's the new Avatar," said Sokka in a serious tone.
"Yes," said Katara.
"She will have to master all the elements," said Tonraq.
"Yes, Aang asked the Order of the White Lotus to protect the next Avatar while he or she learns to master the elements," said Katara.
"We'll have to contact them," said Sokka.
"Yes, but first, let's go see Korra's bending," said Katara as she pulled away from Zuko.
Everyone followed Katara into the other room and watched as Korra bent the other elements.
