Chapter Thirty-Seven: Lullaby

Daryl sat across from Beth on the broken down porch of the shack watching as the girl's mind wandered and her eyes drifted over to the forest. He knew that Beth wasn't lost without Riley but he knew she was broken without her. He watched as her hand found the necklaces that dangled against her chest a soft sly smile crossing her lips. He couldn't help but let a small smirk fall upon his lips as well….what was she thinking about…he knew deep down which is why he was smirking as well. He turned his attention to the blackness of the trees letting Beth relive a moment that was long gone, a moment that was the only thing most likely keeping her alive

Beth knew tonight was the night, Riley and her had been dating for a couple of months and nothing was exchanged expect little kisses, squeezes and looks. This morning however was different; it was early morning and many people were still asleep, Beth was walking from her cell towards Rick's in order to scoop Judith up and feed her before her cry woke everyone including the Walkers. She was walking by the cell that separated hers from her fathers when a pair of arms grabbed her and pulled her into the room, she was shocked for a moment at the quick and unforeseen movement but her body instantly relaxed when a pair of lips crashed onto hers. Riley's tongue ran over Beth's bottom lip and Beth opened her mouth allowing Riley's tongue into her mouth the two fighting in an battle of passion and lust. Beth moaned as Riley's hand worked its way up her back circling to the front to squeeze one of her breast. Riley pulled away when she heard the cell block door open signaling that Glenn was returning from his watch. Riley tore her eyes from the door and stared into Beth's wide blue orbs

"we're gonna finish this…." and with that Riley was gone walking towards Glenn the two falling into step and figuring out the best time to complete run.

Beth stood in the cell her back pressed against the wall. She smiled and brought her fingertips to her lips before sliding down the wall bringing her knees to her chest. The things Riley Dixon did to her

The whole day had gone by and Beth hadn't seen Riley since their little "meeting" earlier this morning. It was nearing the end of the day and dinner would be started soon, but Beth took the opportunity to have a moments peace when Carl said he would take Judith down to the farm to see their dad. Beth slowly walked towards her cell her thoughts floating to the Dixon and what "we're gonna finish this" truly meant. She was so lost in the possible outcomes that she didn't notice someone sitting on her bunk leaning against the support rod, knee propped up arm hanging loosely on their knee

"didn't your daddy teach you to never walk with your head down"

Beth's head shot up to see Riley sitting there with the classic Dixon smirk in full effect

"didn't your's ever teach you that breaking and entering is wrong"

Riley pushed herself to her feet "my daddy taught me a lot…." Riley mumbled her eyes going black for a moment "most of it I can't use"

Beth walked forward and wrapped Riley into a embrace "I'm sorry I wasn't thinking"

Riley chuckled "it's okay…."

Riley pulled away and looked from the cell block door then quickly back to Beth before crashing her lips down upon her. Beth moaned and ran her fingers through Riley's hair "it's almost dinner…" Beth breathed out

"I'm hungry now…" Riley replied bringing her hands to Beth's belt buckle. Beth felt herself become wet and her heart beat more rapidly within her chest at the words Riley spoke

"Riles" Beth spoke her whole body coming undone "I've never….never…"

Riley stopped and looked at Beth her eyes filling with an emotion Beth had never seen before, Riley leaned forward and placed a small kiss on the corner of her mouth "I get to be your first…" Riley smirked. Beth smiled gripping Riley's hands over her belt

"my first and my only"

Riley's eyes snapped from their intertwined hands to Beth's bright blue orbs

"I love you Riley Dixon…..and I want you to be my only…..I want you to be the only one that gets to feel me…touch me…..taste me….have me"

Riley bit her lip before looking out the cell block door only to return her eyes back to Beth

"I love you too Beth Greene….are you sure…"

Beth bit her lip and nodded her head, excitement, nerves, lust and love coursing through her body

She leaned into Riley and kissed her with all the passion that flashed through her "I've never been more sure of anything…"

Daryl watched as Beth's grip on the necklace tightened and the look in her eyes became haunted "you okay" he softly spoke scared to disrupt the stillness of the situation

Beth's eyes shot over to him and she blinked as if waking from a slumber "no…." she whispered

"I've lost the only person I ever truly loved…the only person that ever….ever…..no I'm not okay"

Daryl looked at Beth seeing for the first time the broken girl that acted so tough for him…..

"we will find her….I promise you you'll get her back"

Beth didn't know what to expect when it came to sex especially sex with a girl. She was scared, and unsure but with Riley it all felt so natural. Riley was soft and gentle and kind, she asked if Beth was okay and if she wanted to stop. Riley was everything that Beth had ever wanted and the fact that she was her first made it even more special. Riley had done things that she had only dreamed about, had only heard stories about. After it was over Riley wrapped Beth in her arms letting the girl rest her head on her chest, the two breathing as one. It was only when the sound of boots and water running was heard down below did the two pull apart.

Beth watched Riley lace up her last boot before she helped pull the girl to her feet "you okay" Riley mumbled into her hair

"never better" Beth spoke with a smile

Riley pulled away and smirked "we should go…"

Beth nodded her head and let Riley lead the way "we get to do that again…right" Beth asked feeling childish all of a sudden

Riley chuckled and without looking back replied "stupid question Greene stupid question"

Beth looked at Daryl her eyes filling with tears "you promise" she whispered feeling young and childish

Daryl looked at Beth before turning his eyes back to the forest "stupid question Greene stupid question"
