Theodora looked like a deer in headlights. Completely shocked.
"You... you tricked me.." Theodora said lowly, sounding confused that someone could possibly deny her. Her hands were still wrapped slightly around him.
Bryson was still disorientated from kissing her.
He couldn't deny that she was a good kisser and that he enjoyed it, but was also disgusted knowing who she was and the evil things she had done.
Nevertheless, it made for a perfect distraction.
Theodora stepped back, a look of anger beginning to consume her face.
Before anything else could happen, the Dragon Machine swooped upward around the building.
Bryson snapped his head over, rushing over before Theodora could try something.
The Dragon Machine was just a foot or away from the building, Bryson leaping on top of it, kicking his legs and struggling to remain on balance as one of the windows were opened.
Soon enough, hands pulled Bryson into the Dragon Machine, causing him to fall over into it.
"You did it! You shut off the power!" Tommy exclaimed.
Bryson writhed on the floor, having to adjust after making the big leap inside the Dragon Machine.
He felt Theodora's red lipstick on his mouth, wiping it away quickly before standing up. "Yeah, I guess my er.. acting isn't so bad, then. I fooled her completely."
Dorothy rushed over to hug him, squeezing him. Bryson grinned and hugged her back just as tightly, burying himself into her hair and kissing around it.
"I'm so glad you're alright!" Dorothy cried out, resting her head against him.
"I missed you, I was wishing you were there to help me out. But I managed, I guess." Bryson chuckled into her, feeling so nice to have his slate cleansed after being in the arms of a cold and manipulative witch, back in the arms of the pure and wholesome farm girl.
"How did you manage to trick her?" Kyle asked.
"Long story." Bryson huffed, not exactly in the mood to explain the details.
"Why are you wearin' a suit?" Kyle asked.
"Again. Long story." Bryson panted out.
"It looks nice on you." Dorothy said with a chuckle and a smile.
"Good work, Bryson. It seems the power has shut off all the cages, lights, and attractions. The people of Oz are beginning to revolt. Now we must ensure that their revolt is successful." Glinda stated in a calm manner.
Bryson could hear the sounds of battle cries and shrieks, the sound of violent blows down below.
He stepped over to the window, looking down to see an incredible sight.
Down below, the Emerald City Ozians had broken free, beginning to rush around the city, pushing aside the business men in control of the park, running rampant and escaping their clutches.
The Hammer Heads were rushing around, aggressive as they attacked park workers.
Some Wheelers rolled around, the workers left confused, running away in fear.
What shocked Bryson most was the sight of a herd of other beings rushing from the forest into the poppies right into Emerald City.
There were hundreds of animals from the jungles and forests rampaging around, destroying various pieces of the attractions and set ups.
Not only that, they were joined by several members of the Alliance rushing into the battle, throwing various weapons as they aided the animals, completely wrecking everything related to the Oz World park in their sight.
"AFTER THEM! DESTROY THEM! NOW!" Bryson could hear Theodora shriek at the top of her lungs in a shrill outraged voice outside the window.
He looked up and could see her still standing on the tower, lifting her hand in the direction of the animals, Alliance members, and Ozians starting their revolt.
In response to Theodora's commands, a group of hunters and guards rushed out.
Bryson could see many weapons being thrown and tossed around as animals mauled park workers, completely ripping and tearing up anything related to Oz World.
Theodora herself then began to float off the tower, looking down in anger at the sight before her.
She raised her hand and something formed within it.
It was a giant fireball.
They all gasped.
"HOW ABOUT SOME OF THIS?!" She screamed out.
Glinda leaned forward into the window quickly, raising her wand in a fast, rapid motion in an attempt to stop Theodora.
A pink ray bursted from Glinda's wand, causing the fireball growing in Theodora's hand to immediately evaporate from thin hair, leaving only smoke as a trace.
"I've got to go and stop her and assist the Ozians. Stay up here for as long as it is safe." Glinda advised the group quickly.
Glinda then floated out of the Dragon Machine, pointing her wand at Theodora.
Theodora was snapping her head around eagerly, trying to find the source of whoever it was that halted her attack before seeing Glinda.
"YOU!" Theodora screeched out.
Theodora used both her hands, forming an even larger fireball as she began to fly around Glinda, circling her.
Glinda looked worried for a moment before suddenly flying higher up in the air, casting her wand in a quick motion, letting something within her wand charge before another pink ray blasted from her wand.
The ray was even bigger now, hurdling towards Theodora and causing her fire to extinguish once more, the blast being so big that this time it sent Theodora hurdling towards the ground, smashing into the train tracks of the monorail leading to Emerald City, causing the tracks to break in half, Theodora landing hard into the ground with the debris of the train tracks.
The monorail was stopped just where the train tracks broke off, causing it to teeter sideways, beginning to fall off the train tracks and into the influx of people below.
Glinda gasped and the monorail fell off.
She snapped her hand over to wave her wand at the monorail, forming a bubble around it as it began to fall, stopping it from landing on the ground and destroying anyone or anything, letting it descend slowly and peacefully.
Thankfully, the monorail had been cleared of any people before it fell.
Bryson, Dorothy, and the kids were blindsighted by the chaos ensuing in front of them.
"Oh, dear!" Dorothy cried out, her mouth hanging open, clearly in shock at the display of violence as what Charlotte.
Kyle was more into it, leaning forward. "This is so cool.." He muttered.
Bryson had never seen such an intense level of action and was slightly overwhelmed.
"We have to do something!" Dorothy cried.
Just then, something flew through the open window of the Dragon Machine.
They stumbled over in response, all gasping out.
They turned to see a Flying Monkey had flew in, flapping its wings and hissing at them.
The winged creature began to screech and fly frantically around the Dragon Machine, seemingly confused by being trapped in the smaller space.
It flew aroud and they all fell over, having to duck on the floor as the Flying Monkey flew around in the limited space, screeching.
It bounced against the walls, frailing around and spinning in circles, flying just a few inches above the group's heads as they ducked down as deep into the ground as their heads would allow.
Charlotte was screaming the most, all of them hurdling together.
Dorothy crawled to the levers that controlled the Dragon Machine, reaching for them.
Before she could touch anything, the winged primate swooped above her head, causing her to yelp and duck her head down lower.
Bryson lunged forward, covering and protecting Dorothy's frame as the primate swooped around her.
Soon enough, the Flying Monkey swooped out of the window.
Kyle rushed over and closed the window to the Dragon Machine, panting and making sure it was shut tight. "We need to blow this popsicle stand. Fast!"
"We can't leave just yet, they might need our help!" Dorothy exclaimed, slowly getting up and fixing her hair out of her eyes, Bryson getting up to help her.
Suddenly, the group heard a bunch of splatters and slaps on the ouside of the Dragon Machine.
They snapped their heads around in shock to look out the window and see an absurd amount of Flying Monkeys surrounding the still airborne Dragon Machine.
They all clashed against the windows, scraping and clawing at them.
The windows were strong, but only so strong.
Dorothy gasped and leaned down to the levers that controlled the Dragon Machine, lifting them around frantically to move the Dragon Machine.
The Dragon Machine began to spin around in the air, circling randomly in the air in a quick motion.
Charlotte, Tommy, and Kyle slid down within the Dragon Machine, screaming and grasping onto whatever they could.
The Flying Monkeys began to fall off and fly away after failing to grasp on long enough to the Dragon Machine, screeching in the air.
Dorothy stopped controlling the Dragon Machine and let it stay in the air, panting with the rest of the group.
"Why are they coming after us so much?!" Charlotte exclaimed, distraught.
"Look!" Tommy exclaimed out afterwards, pointing outside to none other than the Wicked Witch of the East, Evanora.
She was floating nearby Glinda, screaming at the Flying Monkeys. It seemed she had been controlling them.
"ALRIGHT! If you useless creatures can't take them out, I will!" Evanora exclaimed, levitating in the air and then swooping quickly to the Dragon Machine.
The group gasped, stepping back to avoid the attack from the witch, but suddenly something else swooped in and tackled her.
It was Glinda, and she had tossed Evanora several feet away from her.
Evanora began to float, forcing herself back to Glinda.
Evanora took out a wand and began to cast it at Glinda, who casted her own wand back at the wicked witch.
A green blast came from Evanora and a pink one from Glinda, the two colorful blasts beginning to combine.
They tried to overpower each other, but there was no use in it.
In the end, the blasts overcountered each other and ended up creating its own giant zap, one that swished into the Dragon Machine, causing it come in contact with the side of the machine.
In response, a section of the Dragon Machine blew up.
Fire began to spread through the Dragon Machine, making the group scream in fear and panic.
"OH, NO! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!" Charlotte screamed out.
"Just hold on!" Dorothy cried out, grabbing the kids with her and clutching to them, scooting to the far end of the Dragon Machine as far away from the flame beginning to engulf the machine.
Bryson scooted next to them, reaching over to quickly grab his backpack from the floor as he huddled into them.
An entire piece of the Dragon Machine fell off, the flames with it, falling far away into the fields of Oz.
However, the other half of the Dragon Machine they were now stuck with began to plummet to the ground.
Bryson looked over at Glinda, hoping she would help. It was hard to make her out in the night as they spun around and fell, everyone screaming around him, but he squinted to get a glimpse of her.
Glinda stuck out her wand quickly, prepared to help, but Evanora lifted her own wand, waving it around for a bit, seemingly charging it.
"GLINDA, LOOK OUT!" Bryson screamed, but she could not hear him.
Then, Dorothy was blasted out of the air by Evanora's huge green blast coming from the wand, falling into the ground.
They all screamed in response, in fear of Glinda's safety and knowing now there no was no one to help them from their fall.
They squeezed their eyes shut.
Bryson clutched to the kids, squeezing Dorothy's hand.
If he was going to die, at least he would die protecting these kids and while being with Dorothy.
"WE'RE GONNA DIE!" Kyle yelled out, distraught.
But before they could hit the ground, they suddenly began to hover in the air.
"Glinda?!" Dorothy asked, snapping her head around.
Bryson searched himself, but he couldn't see her or any bubble that had caught him.
"N-no.. we're just... floating.."
They slowly began to make a peaceful fall. Within a few minutes, they had landed on the Yellow Brick Road without a scratch.
"How the... how did THAT happen?!" Kyle exclaimed.
Bryson looked around in search for an answer, looking down at Tommy.
Tommy was the only calm one and something about his face seemed.. focus. "Tommy?" Bryson asked.
"I don't know. I just felt something and we stopped falling." He responded.
Bryson wondered with Tommy being the Child of Oz.. perhaps he had some sort of secret power.
"Well, let's not ask questions about our blessings right now. Right now, we need to make sure Glinda is okay!" Bryson exclaimed.
Bryson slowly lifted himself up, Dorothy lifting up Charlotte, who was beginning to cry silently. Dorothy bounced her and rocked her, hushing the small girl.
It was strange, knowing that the Dragon Machine, what was once his car, had been blown up and was now basically gone.
However, Bryson was pleased to look around to see the Ozians getting the upper hand, less and less park workers putting up a fight as the animals tackled them and the humans battled them.
"Maybe you should go try and find a place to hide while I find Glinda? The kid's don't need to be here with all this.. stuff happening." Bryson said.
"I.. I know they don't, but.. Bryson, it's dangerous to go by yourself. And I want to hel-"
Before Dorothy could finish, they heard the all too familiar wicked laugh of Theodora.
They snapped their heads around to see Theodora floating among the chaos of Emerald City.
The group huddled against each other, looking up in fear after the Wicked Witch seemingly had gotten up after Glinda's blast.
They gulped in fear, wondering what she had planned.
"IF WE CAN'T DEFEAT YOU BY FIGHTING, PERHAPS THIS LITTLE INSECT CAN TAKE THE FIGHT OUT OF YOU!" Theodora screamed.
She lifted up her hand, revealing a small brown basket.
She opened it and out popped a blue and pink insect.
It looked like a mosquito.
It began to fly around in circles, causing a giant whirlwind of air.
"BEHOLD, YOU FOOLISH OZIANS! THE JITTERBUG!" Theodora screeched with a cackle.
Bryson gulped, knowing what that meant.
He suddenly heard music blasting.
The Ozians, who had been seemingly getting the upper hand against the park workers with the animals attacking and other Ozians winning their battles against park workers, suddenly halted.
Bryson suddenly felt the most strange sensation in his body.
He made snappy and random movements with his body and looked down at his hands, wondering what exactly could be happening.
Dorothy began to move a little herself, Charlotte joining her in her arms, causing Dorothy to put her down.
Kyle and Tommy joined them with slight body movements before suddenly, a musical cue accured and as if part of an actual musical number, they began to dance in time with the music.
Bryson realized Theodora had in fact released the Jitterbug, the creature that caused anyone around it to dance uncontrollably until they fell from exhaustion.
"Oh boy.." Bryson whispered to himself.
Suddenly, they all began to circle each other and dance, and soon enough.. even sang.
Dorothy started first, belting out. For once, it was a bad time to hear her sing.
Who's that hiding in the tree tops?
It's that rascal, The Jitterbug!
Should you catch him buzzing 'round you,
Keep away from, The Jitterbug!
Oh! the bats in the breeze and the bees in the trees have a terrible, horrible buzz,
But the bats in the breeze and the bees in the trees couldn't do what The Jitterbug does!
So be careful of that rascal, Keep away from The Jitterbug!
The Jitterbug!
Oh! The Jitter! Oh The Bug!
Oh! The Jitterbug, Bug-a-bug, bug-a-bug, bug-a-boo.
Soon enough, they were singing together.
They began to circle around each other, Bryson and Dorothy linking arms as their bodies betrayed them as they danced wildly.
It was terrible, his body being forced to move despite his growing exhaustion.
It was painful and also hilarious to Theodora, who cackled in the sky as she witnessed everyone not on her side dancing themselves to exhaustion.
The song repeated a few times before coming to an end, and everyone suddenly fell over onto the Yellow Brick Road, including Bryson, Dorothy, and the kids. Even the animals had fallen victim. Bryson could see members of the Alliance laying down from exhaustion as well.
"I BELIEVE THAT'S ABOUT IT FOR THEM, SISTER!" Theodora screamed with a cackle.
"Oh, I do think you're quite right, sister!" Evanora agreed, floating towards Theodora in the air. "So much for Glinda's little plan!"
Suddenly, someone stepped out of Emerald City.
It was Bruce, still in his Wizard outfit.
"Jesus, did you get them?!" He asked angrily, clenching his fists, looking up at Theodora and Evanora floating in the air.
"Relax! We've got them now. They're done fighting, trust me!" Theodora exclaimed back in the air.
"WELL, IT'S NO USE NOW!" Bruce screamed angrily, taking his hat and throwing it onto the ground angrily.
"What do you mean?!" Theodora asked, annoyed.
"WHEN THE POWER WENT OUT, WE LOST ALL OUR FILES! ALL OUR TRANSACTIONS, ALL OUR LEGAL SHIT. WE STILL HAD HALF THE GOD DAMN PAPERS TO GET THROUGH! AND NOW A SHIT TON OF OUR WORKERS ARE GONNA BE PUT IN THE HOSPITAL WITH THE WAY THESE DAMNED ANIMALS MAULED THEM! ALL THE EMERALD CITY WORKERS THAT WEREN'T FROM OZ ALREADY FLED! ALMOST ALL OF THE STUFF OUTSIDE THE VISITOR'S CENTER HAS BEEN DESTROYED! THIS IS A COMPLETE DISASTER! GOOD WORK, LADIES!" Bruce screamed at the top of his lungs, clearly enraged
Theodora huffed and flew down to Bruce. "DON'T YELL AT ME, NOW! IT WAS YOUR BRIGHT IDEA TO GIVE THE WHOLE PARK ONE SOURCE OF ENERGY!"
"I HAD TO! DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE THIS SHIT IS? WE HAD TO SPARE SOME OF OUR FORTUNE!" Bruce screamed.
"WE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER THEN THAT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WITH ALL THE POWER WE HAVE!" Theodora screamed back.
"THAT'S IT!" Bruce screamed. "GUAAAAAAAARDS!" Bruce screamed, looking out at the hunters and guards sprawled out along the field next to Emerald City. "TRANK THESE TWO!"
On command, the hunters and guards turned their guns and shot them out at Evanora and Theodora.
After a few hits, both the witches had fallen to the ground.
Everyone seemed shocked that Bruce had seemingly betrayed them.
"ALRIGHT! HERE'S THE PLAN!" Bruce screamed. "WE'RE GONNA TAKE WHAT WE CAN BACK TO OUR WORLD, SHOW OFF THE FOOTAGE WE'VE GOT, SHOW OFF THE STUFF WE BRING BACK. WE DO WITH THAT WHAT WE CAN, MAKE SOME MORE FUNDS, AND WE'LL RE-BUILD MORE OF THE PARK LATER!"
Bryson gasped at this, struggling to get up after the attack of the Jitterbug.
Sadly, it seemed everyone around him was unable to get themselves off the ground. The Jitterbug had a serious effect.
"NOW! TRANK EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING YOU SEE NOT AFFILATED WITH US! WE HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE!" Bruce screamed.
And then, the hunters and guards fired their guns around every Ozian and animal in sight.
One by one, each Ozian, creature, and even members of the Alliance were tranked.
Bryson struggled to get up, grunting to himself and doing his best to sit up.
However hard he tried, however, he could not.
The hunters and guards began to lift up the bodies of the Ozians and creatures around them, picking them up.
"I'M CALLIN' IN A FEW HOT AIR BALLOONS AND A FEW TRUCKS, BOARD WHAT YOU CAN ON THE TRUCKS AND GET INTO THE BALLOONS! WE NEED GET EVERYTHING OUT OF HERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" Bruce screamed.
Bryson was horrified.
He was going to take everything in Oz to his world!
He couldn't let this happen.
He could not allow Oz to be exposed!
The consequences would be dire.
He fought with everything he had to get up, but to no avail.
Come on, come on!
He cursed himself, trying with all his might to get up. Dorothy and the kids tried as well, but nothing worked.
Soon enough, large trucks began to speed onto the scene.
The park workers, hunters, and guards left after the battle started boarding the Ozians into the trucks along with the animals.
Theodora and Evanora had even been boarded onto the trucks, Bruce seemingly giving up on teaming up with them and opting to capture them instead.
Hot Air Balloons began to fly in, at least ten of them. Some of them had a large crane latched onto them that picked up more special creatures such as the Horse of a Different Color.
He could see park workers boarding up bags of Yellow Bricks, probably the same Bruce had stolen earlier.
Even various different flowers native to Oz were being placed in bags and placed in the trucks, along with large sets of cameras.
Hammer Heads were being boarded onto the truck, the creatures only calm now they had been tranked.
Bryson could even see large Kalidah's, the creatures with bodies like bears and heads like tigers, were being boarded onto the huge trucks.
What alarmed him most was the sight of Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion in the same truck as they boarded everything, trapped in large glass containers, all of them unconscious.
"No.." Bryson let out weakly.
He could even see Glinda!
Glinda was also unconscious, being boarded onto the truck.
There was no one who could help them, they were capturing everyone!
He was seeing his worst nightmare occur right in front of him.
"We've almost got everything, the other stuff is already boarded up. We just need that girl now." Bryson could hear Bruce said.
Bryson's eyes widened even further
"N-no... no..." He whispered to himself, beginning to tremble in fear.
They couldn't take Dorothy.
"Please no.." He whispered, struggling with all his might.
Finally, he began to move a full muscles.
And another.
And another.
Finally, he forced himself up.
The rest of the group joined him, finally free of the constraints.
"We gotta run away. Fast. Before he finds us." Bryson whispered.
They were far away from everyone else since they had landed abruptly when the Dragon Machine crashed, but it was only a matter of time until someone found them.
They slowly lifted themselves up fully, ready to run away.
But then, Dorothy suddenly fell over.
"NO!" Bryson screamed out.
She had a dart in her back.
"DOROTHY!" Kyle and Charlotte both screamed out, beginning to run away in fear before suddenly falling over themselves.
"GUYS, NO!" Bryson screamed out.
He looked down in horror, his legs trembling in fear.
Tommy stayed clung to Bryson, panting.
"Dorothy.." Bryson let out with a shaky breath, his eyes focusing on the dart in her back.
He was prepared to rush over and help her, but suddenly a few of the hunters swooped in, grabbing the kids and Dorothy.
"LET'S GO, LET'S GO! WE GOT THE GIRL, WE GOT DOROTHY! SHE'S AN IMPORTANT ASSET!" A hunter yelled, beginning to run off with her hoisted over his arm.
"What do we do with the kids?!" The other hunter asked.
"Just take 'em with us, they're going back to our world anyways!" The hunter said.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" Bryson screamed out.
Bryson began to run as fast as he possibly could, but he was no match for the hunters.
"HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT, YOU GOT HER! YOU GOT HER! OH MY GOD! BOARD HER UP NOW, NOW, NOW! OH MY GOD, MAKE SURE SHE'S GOT ROOM, THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!" Bruce screamed. "WE'RE GONNA MAKE MILLIONS OFF HER ALONE!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Bryson screamed as he ran off faster and faster.
"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE WE LOSE HER! WE'VE GOT ENOUGH FOR THIS FIRST SHIPMENT. WE CAN COME BACK LATER!" Bruce screamed, rushing off into one of the Hot Air Balloons.
Soon, the trucks began to speed off along with the Hot Air Balloons carrying park workers, hunters, guards, and cargo. All of them were soon enough in a truck or in a Hot Air Balloon, making their getaway.
"NO, NO, NOOOO!" Bryson screamed out, his heart feeling as if it would burst from beating so rapidly.
Bryson then thought of an idea. Perhaps he could rush off to the Emerald City tower and jump onto one of the Hot Air Balloons!
Bryson growled and rushed into the Emerald City doors as fast as he could with no guards around to stop him.
He rushed off in search of the stairs Theodora had led him to, finding them and quickly rushing up them as quickly as he could, pouncing over steps and racing into Theodora's room, racing up the higher level and outside the window to the tower.
He was outside again and could see the trucks below him rushing off fast, the Hot Air Balloons following behind.
Bryson gulped, looking down at the Hot Air Balloon before thinking about his next move.
He had to be careful about jumping or he'd hurt himself.
He decided there was no time to waste and leaped off the tower, jumping into the Hot Air Balloon by hanging onto its string and balancing on it, falling into the empty Balloon that was carrying a random Flying Monkey.
He looked over and could see Bruce in a few Hot Air Ballons over.
Anger began to spread through Bryson.
He was thinking irrationally.
He had wasted too much time already in his life, he told himself.
So all he knew was he had to do something fast.
Without even thinking about it, Bryson walked back, gaining momentum before leaping out of the Hot Air Balloon he was in, almost managing to leap into the one Bruce was in, but missing it and dangling off the very bottom of it.
Bryson lost his grip quickly, falling down onto the dirt of the Emerald City, rolling around and coughing. Bruce hadn't even seen him.
Bruce lifted something from his wizard jacket.
A green book.
"Let's see.. how did Theodora use this again.." Bruce squinted before flipping the pages of the book. "Ah, yes! Go forth!" Bruce said, and suddenly a huge green vortex of wind began to form around the area, blasting open, leaving a huge green hole in the middle of Emerald City.
Bryson slowly lifted his head up, a look of outrage on his face.
It seemed Theodora had told him how to travel to other worlds!
And with that, the trucks and Hot Air Balloons began to slowly disappear into the giant green vortex.
Before Bryson could even do anything, it was all gone.
They had all disappeared in front of Bryson's face.
Bruce had taken all of Oz, including Dorothy, Charlotte, and Kyle with him.
He was taking it to his world it seemed, but Bryson had no idea what he was doing with them.
The mystery just made it worse.
He cursed and let his head sink into the ground.
His stomach began to hurt.
This was his worst nightmare coming true.
Oz being corrupted and exposed to the real world.
Everyone he loved in the world becoming a mere attraction for a theme park.
Words couldn't even begin to describe how terrible he felt.
"No..." he whipsered to himself, too defeated to even scream.
Suddenly, he heard a voice coming up to him.
"Bryson?"
It was Tommy.
"Tommy.." Bryson said weakly. "I'm.. I'm so.. I'm so sorry, I didn't even think.. I was just trying to catch up to them, I didn't mean... to leave you behind." Bryson said, his voice hoarse and full of hurt.
There were 50 states in his country and several countries around the world.
Bruce could be going anything with the Oz cargo.. with all of Bryson's friends. With Dorothy and the kids.
For all he knew, all of Oz had been taken.
He had no idea how to travel back to his world and find them.
How he would even find them? He had no idea where they were going or what they were doing.
He had never recalled feeling this defeated when they had gone up against Rabadan.
He had promised to protect Oz, to protect Dorothy.
And he had failed.
But the hurt was not over.
Suddenly, it began to storm.
It was fitting for what had occurred.
Rain began to pour down onto Bryson's body. He didn't care.
He let the rain fall onto him.
The rain was heavy, and he just let it fall.
He didn't want to keep going.
There was no use.
It was over.
It didn't take long before he was completely soaked.
He just sat there in sadness, knowing the enire Emerald City and probably every other Ozian they had captured so far were in those trucks and in those Balloons.
But then..
Something worse happened.
"Br-Bryson... there's something happening to my hands." Tommy said quietly.
"Wha.. what are you talking about?" Bryson asked, lifting his head up finally.
Tommy looked down at his hands and Bryson looked down.
His hands were dissolving like wisps of smoke.
Bryson watched in horror.
He had just let the people of Oz be taken away, he thought.
Now Tommy was vaporizing right in front of him.
Tommy began to scream as his arms stretched upwards to the sky.
He lunged forward, Bryson catching him as Tommy began to dissappear.
Tommy was getting skinnier, like a thin ribbon.
Bryson felt the weight slowly decrease in his grasp, Tommy shrinking right in his arms.
"Bryson.. I.. what's happening to me?" Tommy asked weakly.
Eventually, Tommy's body begins to disintegrate as if it were made of sand.
Tommy stopped screaming, just looking completely shocked.
He swirled around, slowly melting into the ground as if the rain had melted him away.
And soon enough, Tommy was gone.
Melted into the ground.
Bryson reached over, horrified, picking up a small piece of the small dark puddle.
What was left of Tommy.
He had melted like the Wicked Witch had in the movie.
Out of nowhere.
Bryson sat there.
He had thoughts about what had just happened.
He could not register them.
Tommy had vanished.
Dorothy had been captured to be locked away as a circus freak forever against her will along with the rest of Oz. Charlotte and Kyle's fate was unknown.
Bryson let the rain consume him.
He would take his dad beating him over this.
He would take Rabadan crushing him with his scepeter over this.
He would take never going back to Oz, forever wondering if it was real in the first place.
He would take never going in the first place and staying the same meak child as his father continued to abuse him.
This was the worst experience of his life.
He let the rain pour and drown him in the droplets.
At this point, he just wanted to melt away with Tommy.
He sat there in silence.
As far as he was aware, everyone was now gone.
He was now alone in Oz.
He let himself fall against the dirt, the rain consuming him, mud pouring onto him.
He didn't care.
He let the rain ruin the nice suit he was in, it meant nothing.
He was alone in Oz, the entire land vacant with only him.
And for once, he did not want to be in Oz.
He had failed.
