Buttercup's POV (in a dream)
Everything was so hazy...as I was being dragged through the hallways, my knees were rubbing against the carpet.
"LET GO! YOU HURTIN' ME!" I struggled against the guards.
"I beg of you, she didn't do anything!" Dad just cried out, following me, I've never seen him plead before, "Please...it was me...I did it!" He cried out, it only made me more nervous. To see my strong, powerful dad begging like that, was I in trouble...what did I do wrong? I could barely breathe...as these large rich oak door opened and I was threw down to the ground...in front of...of...his highness.
I gasped and tried to crawl away back to my Dad, who forced his way through the door...
"Is this the one?" The King scoffed, he was whispering to someone. I tried crawling away but I was pinned down by the guards.
"Yes your highness, I saw talking to the trees...but that's not all...she's the one who's close to your *whisper*."
"How close?" The King glared at me.
"Close enough for this..." The figure pulled out some paper...is that? Is that a drawing...
"Please your highness, is talking to trees really so bad?" Dad pushed through and bowed, "Please your highness, I don't know what she did to offend you but I'm humbly sorry."
"Lift up her shirt." He ignored my dad and just ordered...
End of dream
I shot up, gasping and relieve that I could finally wake up from the dream...No the memory before it got any worse. Wait a minute, did I wake up...I looked around...this wasn't my room...I gasped...as I stood up, remembering where this was...I was back...I was n the servant's bedroom.
"What happened last night...I could barely remember...
A flash of Large razored claws...and...and...something standing up...
There was a knock on the door...
"Are you awake?" A voice sounded so cheery song out and opened the wooden door. A girl with long pig tails opened the door, "Oh Buttercup...is that really you? When they told me you were here...I could barely contain myself...Buttercup, it's me, Bubbles."
Bubbles? Bubbles, I could hardly recognize her...I mean it must've been like...forever since I've seen her...since I was five years old.
She came up to hug me, I jumped back, crying, "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE FREEZING!"
Bubbles playfully tapped herself on the head, sticking her tongue out, "I'm sorry, I just came from outside...another chilling day outside. I heard you're going to restore the gardens... Well at this point, only an earth Fairy could make anything bloom around here. Wait...are you still..."
"Yes, I'm still an Earth Fairy."
"But...but..." She walked around me in a circle, "But...are your wings under-*squeals in joy* HOW CUTE!"
I turned around to see Bubbles squealing over Fang who was still sleeping right beside my pillow. I forgot all about him, but I was glad that he could distract Bubbles.
"Oh my goodness Buttercup, is he yours?" Bubbles looked at me excitedly.
"Yeah."
"How sweet and precious, look at those teeny tiny little paw paws. They're like little gloves...and that little sweet sleepy face...Oh what's her name?"
"His name is Fang."
"Fang? Awww...that's not cute enough, I would've named him Pookie...or better Satin and he would wear a Satin bow...Oh that would be too precious."
"His name is Fang because he likes to bite...and he bites hard." I answered, but I was opened to see her, "Anyway, I was wondering if my Dad-"
There was a heavy rumbled from the sky...
Bubbles shot up, gasping, "Oh my, I completely forgot, I have to deliver the other trays...Oh My...Well here's your breakfast...I hope you remembered where the garden stuff is. I must be going...but it's really great to have you here, it'll be like old times..well sort of. We can talk some more later."
With that Bubbles just left out of the room. I poked my head out but there was no one around. A lot must've changed...I remembered the servant's quarters done here were always so...so...crowded. I remembered when I had to sleep on the floor because there were just no beds available. I wanted to go explore the castle, but my stomach growling just made me go back to the tray. The fresh of oven roasted bread made my mouth watered...reminding that I don't think I had anything to eat since yesterday...
Yesterday...I just can't seem to remember that much about it... I mean, I remembered the Specters and running from the Lost souls in the forest...and finally finding Belle...but hardly a thing after that, except...except for...seeing those paws.
Fang woke up with a stretch and a meow, looking up at me. I took a bit of my bread and gave him a piece. He had to be hungry too, the way he tore into that piece.
I can't believe my luck...but...but this was my chance...to find out what happened to My Dad...after he took me from the dungeon and stole me away into a snowy night. I had to find out...for my sake...and my Mom's. Mom would never say anything about it but I know she was worried...every once in a while, she was stare off in a distance, I bet she was worried. Once a month, there was money left on our door since that day with the Lunarian's royal seal on it...Dad's wages, I could only think.
"But first...Work." I really didn't want to do it, I would rather tear through this whole castle, finding out what happened to my day; but I have a job to do. I walked out of the room, towards the only fireplace in the servant's quarters...the servant's feeding area which was still right beside the kitchen area. It was freezing around here there was a thinly lit fire going right now. I grabbed another log from a pile letting the fire come to life. There was no one around...
"Where is everyone?" I asked looking around, "Maybe I just woke up late." Still in the corner were some of the gardening stuff. The seeds were pratically rotten, even with my magic, I might be able to use only half of these, there were cobwebs and dust on the tools. There was a door, that lead to the outside gardens, I readied myself... I tucked myself inside my cloak and took a deep breath as I opened the door. The wind blow hard and the clouds swirled above as if they were alive.
I looked back at Fang, he whined...but my little champ would followed me anywhere, "Fang, why don't you stay by the fireplace? Gotta make sure stays warm when I come back huh?"
Fang seem to ignore me and tried to take a step forward, but a sharp rumble from the skies caused him to jump back and run to the fireplace, sitting in front of it.
"Good boy, I'll be back." I closed the door and braced myself as another sharp wind blew. There were more tools on the outside but they were in a pile, the gloves and boots had holes in them. Now that I got a real chance to look at it, the gardens and the courtyard looked so barren and bleak. The trees were black and leafless, the bushes were the same and even the dirt looked frail like ashes from the fireplace.
"Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me, "I sighed. I can't even start work yet...I need-
I heard horse whining from the distance...that's right...the royal stables hould still be here. If I could remembered correctly...I ran across the front of the Castle...It looked so different...it was so much darker and...and...I could have swore it was a white marble castle...with griffons and angels as thr statues, not these gargoyles and winged looking demons...which looked like they could come to life any minute.
The stables were in the same place as before, at least they still looked new. Maybe this is my chance to speak to one of the Coachmen...I cracked opened the door and could hear someone talking. At least the stables were a lot warmer than outside, but it was so dark and it does stink...of course I see why...a fresh pile of manure was in a wagon. Perfect, it was what I was looking for, but I was kinda hoping to find someone in here.
"Hello...Hello is anyone here?" I asked, hearing the voice stop, the horses seemed fine. I heard a bucket kicked behind me. I turned around, it was faint but I know I saw a figure moving in the darkness, "If you're there, I'm not dangerous...most of the time." I was about to walk t where the noise was when...
"CUPIE!" A pair of arms wrapped around my stomach. I know that voice and nickname anywhere.
"Belle, get off of me!?" I shouted.
"I'm pleased as Judy and Punch that you're wakie woke up." Belle was jumping up and down "It was so boring here that I thought I would weep and cry tears of boredom."
"What are you doing here?" I turned back, but the shadow was gone and all I could do was sigh.
"I came here...to explore...funny how I found this Pretty stable with pretty ponies, aren't you?" She leaned one of the horses' snouts and patted it lovingly, "I'm gonna name you Spranklecrisp LongBottom the third. Too bad that man left. How will he know the names if he's not hear to hear them."
"What man?"
"Oh...The man...he said none of the horses has names and I thought that would be sad...isn't it sad Cupie? So He said I could give them names, like: Sophie AngelCakes the first, His Royal Highness Maxmil Huffington, Oh and that's Crockle Sniffington, Huffington's brother...and that one...my favorite, "Belle was twirling towards the donkey in the corner, "This little cutie...I'm naming her Daisy, because she'll look so old with a chain of daisies."
"Belle, focus...what man?"
"Oh...well he was just here, but he went bye bye, royal duties...*giggle* duties. Oh Cupie, I'm so happy to see you guys. Well, I haven't seen Cousin Blossy yet or Bree Bree but to have my friendly friends again makes me wanna throw...not one but three tea parties; And with you working on the Gardens, I bet we could have a tea party picnic with scones, butter, jam and lots of cakes. Oh...do you need help...I'll help ya." Belle was already gone, she had that hyper look and that cheery smile. I just sighed, grabbing and pulling the wagon with one arm.
Normal POV
The Prince watched from the window as the maid came busting through the door.
"I'm so sorry that I was late." Bubbles pleaded but she was met only with silence. The large figure didn't even seem to notice...he was looking at the small hand mirror...his eyes were focus on the two girls that were going across the courtyard. His mood seemed to lightened Belle's smile seem to beam, his eyes seemed enchanted by the glowing bright in beam of her face as she twirled and hugged the new Gardener again.
"Beautiful...absolutely breath taking." He mumbled under his breath
"Your Highness, "Bubbles flinched as she knocked the tea cup over but the Prince didn't even seem to notice that either. He seemed to sigh and pressed the mirror close to his body, "Do you need anything else, Your Highness?"
"No...thank you." He mumbled, Bubbles seemed shocked that he thanked her but i made her relax a little and she curtsied, leaving the room and closing the door. She bumped right into the Manservant.
"Oh Hi." She greeted, with a blush as she took a step back.
"How is he?" He asked.
"Oh, the Prince, he seems...extremely calm...he hardly noticed a thing."
"Really?" Another voice interrupted them, they both stood up striaight.
"My Liege, "The Manservant and Bubbles bowed and curtisied.
"Bubbles, ah...my breakfast...how can I put this? It was a little hard."
Bubbles blushed embarrassed, "Oh my...I'm so sorry...I'll try better."
He nodded and walked into the room, the manservant chuckled, "You don't have to take what he says so personal, you know that right?"
"But...but...I just want to do better, but I'm just not a good cook, and on top of cleaning the rooms-" Bubbles sighed.
The Manservant, sounding cheerful as ever, "I'll help you...you know I will."
"Of course."
"So, how was Buttercup?"
"Bubbles looked down at her hands and started rubbing them together, "She's really pretty. Oh you should see her, if only she would wear a dress, I bet she would look even prettier...oh...but...but She said I was cold...but at least I got to see her again...one last time..." Bubbles looked ready to cry.
"Oh no you don't. We're not gonna start losing hope, if you keep thinking like that...I'll have to plant some spiders in your room again."
Bubbles gasped, "No. You Promised."
"Well then, don't start all that gloom talk, "He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, blushing too, "Now then, where should we start first?"
Bubbles snickered as the Manservant lead her down the hallway.
