Chapter 36: Confession Of The Confused Heart

** Area Two – Inside the Cabin **

An unexpected kiss from Ash as 'Mickey' left her completely dumbfounded on how to follow afterwards. Throughout her eighteen years on earth, this number made it to her top five 'memorable surprises'; tying with her first kiss by Gary. With her right hand still slightly over her lips and Ash's piercing stare for an answer, Misty responsively called out his name.

"—Are you positive? You did say that you think you like me."

Ash did not budged from his spot nor changed his serious expression. "I'll be honest, I'm not completely sure. I like Misty as well. I have been fighting with my inner self for the last week or so. I wasn't going to act on it, but with Gary in the picture."

"What does Gary have to do with this?"

"About everything, I only took an interest in your cousin just to piss him off, but then she grew on me. And as for you," Ash fell down onto at the edge of his bed completely defeated with his emotions. "You hit me at my blindside. It seems like I'm attracted to those who are vulnerable and it so happens to be the ones that Gary has hurt. I'm going down the same path with you as I did with May."

Misty couldn't believe she has done a number on Ash's sexual orientation. She wanted to reach out and grabbed his hand for support but that would have given him the wrong impression. "Ash, I—Umm, I'm sorry. It's just." Misty paused only to give Ash an opening to continue on.

"Also, I know your little secret that Gary knows about."

Petrified at his last sentence, Misty nervously stared into Ash's eyes. "What is this secret that you know about me?"

"I've known for a while, you like the same gender. I heard you talking in your sleep one night about liking me."

"Oh god and the situation just got worst." Misty commented like it was the end of the world.

"Why? Is it bad that I like you? Or is it because that you've also have fallen for Gary?"

Misty had no words to retaliate. Everything that was asked was true. Things just weren't going how she had planned. Looking down at her fidgeting hands, she only managed 'I' before the two heard muffled voices on the other side of the door. Richie was the first to walk in, followed by Derek and Luke and lastly, Gary. All in unison; expect Gary, called out 'Mickey' and rushed towards his bed. Seeing how Misty's still pale, Richie teased like usual to lighten the mood.

"—Sooo, did Snow White get woken up by a kiss?" Richie asked and got the most awkwardness vibe from Misty and Ash. He could sense something happened and decided to leave it as is with an uneasily laugh. "—Anyways, I assumed you just woke up?"

Misty let out a faint smile at Richie, Derek and Luke. "Well, I've been up for ten minutes now?"

"I see," A heartening smile appeared on Richie's face. "And I assumed Ash has informed you on what Gary did back in the lounge?"

"No? What exactly happened? All I can remember was—" Misty stopped in mid-sentence when Gary heatedly called out Ash's name and immediately all eyes turned towards his direction.

"—You had one main job to do when Mickey woke up. How hard is it to give a dehydrated person a water bottle the second they wake up?!" Gary asked pointing at the unopened water bottles on Misty's nightstand.

Ash puckered at Gary and ardently grabbed a water bottle and handed it to Mickey. "Sorry. It slipped my mind." Ash hissed with his back facing Gary.

"Slipped your mind? It was the only request I asked you to do and somehow you managed to screw that up!" Gary shouted at Ash like they were the only two in the room and received a hateful glare.

With so much bottled up, Ash had to release the pressure before exploding at the wrong person. And already irritated with Gary's foul attitude, he made him the target. "It was a goddamn honest mistake! Why are you fucking-biting my head off for?!"

"Because I can't stand your fucking, face right now."

"What kind of reason is that?!"

There was no way in hell Gary was planning to admit out loud his foul mood was due his jealousy. "Fuck you, I don't have to fully explain myself."

"Whatever! Just do us all a fucking favor and pull that stick out of your ass and lighten up!" Ash retaliated back, being a foot away from Gary's face.

Before Gary could strike back, Misty had intervened by calling out both their names and demanded an explanation of what all exactly happened during 'his' mishap for them to act like this. Especially when just some hours ago they were all laughing and had a grand old time fishing. The tense atmosphere increased when neither Gary nor Ash spoke up, thus leaving one of the other three to answer. Since Richie was the one who brought it up earlier, he decided to be the one to explain.

"Let's just say Gary nearly French kissed you to get water in your system in front of the whole classmates." Richie said lightheartedly at Misty's stunned stare. Momentarily the two looked over at Gary when he called out his name.

"—Did you really had to put it in that content?!"

Richie brushed Gary's question aside when he let out a grim stare at him and at Ash. "I know you guys are worried, but for Pete's sake, you two are acting like idiots full of testosterone or something! If you two are going to continue your pissing contest, take it outside. Last thing we need is Mickey to stress out even more."

Putting their feud on hiatus, Gary isolated himself to the opposite side of the cabin and sat at the dining table before losing his temper again. With the cricket like atmosphere, Derek and Luke took it upon themselves and broke the silence by suggesting Mickey to eat the dinner plate they managed to sneak back for 'him'.

Misty's stomach rumbled on cue and got out of bed. Before heading over to the table, she quietly thanked Richie for stepping in the psychosis pow-wow and gave Ash an apologetically stare. She than mouthed 'we'll talk later' before joining up with Gary. There wasn't any talking or eye contact once she sat down across of Gary's profile, causing her not to have much of an appetite. That quickly changed when she heard Gary mumble something about quickly regain her health and they'll talk later. With that, she was no longer fiddling with her food and started eating wholeheartedly. Still deep down inside, she just wanted to hide underneath her blanket and avoid the 'talks' from Ash and Gary as long as possible. She got her wish; promptly out like a Snorlax after her meal, merely because she took on Derek's suggestion of taking ZzzQuil to aid 'him' to sleep for a faster recovery. It wasn't long before the rest of the gang headed to bed themselves, for they all planned to wake up early for breakfast and face the music with the rest of the classmates.

Morning came and everyone, expect Misty, was ready to head out. Poor girl was still wrapped in her blanket like a cocoon and didn't seem like she was going to wake up any time soon. At least not by herself that is. Derek and Luke ecstatically volunteered to wake up Mickey, Gary and Ash protested, but the two had already jumped on both side of her smothering her to wake up. Next thing they knew, they were knocked onto the floor. The reason of the protest was because Gary, Ash and Richie all had experienced Mickey's random brute strength when it came to being disturbed in 'his' sleep. Gary and Ash let out their first chuckle; since yesterday's fishing, and in unison commented 'tried to warn you'. The two looked at each other from across the room, scoffed and continued on with their business. For the time being all they could do is play the waiting game until Misty was ready to wake up on her own. Even if it means they were going to be late for breakfast.

Richie had other plans and decided to mess with Misty. Unconcernedly he went over to her cocoon wrapped-self, leaned over her covered head and whispered 'good morning'. A wicked smile appeared before finishing off with 'Misty'. Quickly pulling away when Misty snappishly threw the covers off herself, he received a confused glare. Another grin appeared when he held up his index finger to his lips, indicating he now knows the truth. And before he and the rest of the gang grasp what was happening, Misty had dragged him into the bathroom.

Misty glared up at Richie when she pushed up against the bathroom wall. "When?!"

"Not denying it this time I see. And was it wise for you to ask me when? I could have been joking and you just blew your own cover."

"Richie, I know you well enough to know when you know the truth about people around you. So when did you find out?"

"Well, you already know I had my suspicions in the beginning but what tipped me off were your Lola persona and the make-it-rain five thousand dollar stunt to save Gary as Cousin Misty. But actually finding out, it was yesterday in the pond after saving you. That's when it all clicked. You had me fooled for a very long time. But when it comes to close body contact," Richie gestured up and down Misty's body with his index with a smirk. "You stood no chance."

Misty did a quick face-palm and grumbled. "Ugggh, I should have expect no less from the guy who can tell a girl's cup size just by looking."

"One of my many talents, I must say."

Misty clicked her tongue with the most unenthusiastic smirk one could give. "Oh-how-am-I-able-to-stand-your-type? Anyways, straight to the point, are you going to—"

"Tell on you? Nope, your secret is safe with me." Richie let out a reassuring smile.

"Really? Umm thanks. Is there a reason why?"

"I've taken a liking to you." Richie held in his laughter upon seeing Misty's petrified look. "Not in a romantic kind of way. Don't get me wrong, you're babe when you want to be but just not my type. You and I are more like, siblings, don't you agree?"

"Now that you mention about it, I totally agree. Maybe that's why I'm not appalled by your skirt chasing ways. Most siblings do love each other no matter what, right?" Misty finished off with a smirk.

"Hahaha, I'll second that statement," Richie still against the wall, crossed his arms with a subtle smile. "How long have Gary known and does Ash know?"

"Gary's known for a while, like literally sometime right after my transfer. Ash doesn't know yet and how things are going now, I definitely need to be the one to tell him. Whiiich will actually be tomorrow as Cousin Misty."

"I see, well I'm glad that I changed my mind and kept quiet. I was going to confront Gary or Ash before coming to you."

"Thanks. But somehow I have a feeling you kept quiet is also just to mess with me?" Misty asked, crossing her arms.

"My my, it seem like my long-lost sister, knows me oh-so-well. But my dear little sis, there's still so much I don't know about. Like, the whole story of living a double life?"

Misty stuck out her tongue and played along with Richie's ridiculing tone. "Oh my long-lost brother, we've been in the bathroom far too long. Let's not stir any more anecdotes on why we're in here together. And it's kind of a long story, so I'll tell you another time."

"Fine, but before I go, who in the hell was dressed as Cousin Misty on our Let's Get Gary Back adventure?"

A big smile appeared on Misty's face. "Oh, you know her as my B.F.F."

"Duplica? Damn, you two are Double Trouble."

Misty snickered at Richie's comment and opened the door. Taking the hint to exit the bathroom now, Richie cooperated briefly before he suddenly stopped and leaned in towards her ear. She turned beet red when he whispered her correct bra size, as she unmercifully shoved him through the doorway. Questionable stares fell upon Richie when they heard the slamming of the bathroom door. Richie couldn't answer if he wanted to; he was way too busy laughing out loud like a mad man on the floor. The laughter stopped when Misty suddenly walked across his stomach to grab her bag to change into a new outfit. Another heartless step to the stomach occurred heading back to the bathroom. Establishing being 'long-lost siblings', she planned on making up for lost time of being violent towards him when necessary.

No sympathy came from Gary towards Richie's agony, though it sparked his curiosity. Asking what happened, an uncontrollable snicker escaped, followed by 'I'll tell you another time' from Richie made him clicked his tongue in annoyance. So annoyed he didn't realize Misty had emerged from the bathroom, until he felt a tiny, drive-by tug at his shirt. His mood lighten up when the two did a nod-greet.

Continuing onwards towards her bed for her shoes, she and Ash finally made eye contact since yesterday. An uncomfortable greet was exchanged, followed by a serious 'we need to talk' from Ash. Still nowhere close on being ready to have the talk, she told him it'll have to wait after breakfast. And before Ash could say anything else, Misty grabbed her bags and beeline it towards the door.

On cue like a military's Reveille Ceremony, the café lounge became silent and all eyes were on the group the moment they entered. Already anticipating the scenario they were experiencing, they went on with their business like yesterday had never happen. But of course that wasn't going to fly with Matt and his posse. Matt, being the douchebag he is, stepped in front of Gary right before the 'order counter'.

"Who knew the oh-so-great Gary Oak would fall for a guy." Matt snickered at the irritation glare. "You honestly didn't think that I was going to let yesterday's incident fly under the radar like everybody else, did you?" Matt asked smugly to get Gary to bite back like always. To his surprise Gary kept quiet and stepped around him. "What? Meowth caught your tongue? Or should I say Mickey caught your tongue?"

Turning to face Matt to give him a nice right-hook to the face, Luke and Derek had taken matters into their own hands. Luke had grabbed Matt by his collar and planted a deep kiss on him, as a snap-shot from Derek's phone was heard. Besides being roughly shoved away, a punch was thrown at Luke's face by Matt. Everyone; beside Derek, were confused at what just happened, especially when Luke started laughing spitefully while rubbing his swollen cheek.

"I think it's in your best interest for you to drop yesterday's little matter and leave us the hell alone." Luke said sternly, a tone no one but Derek has ever heard before.

Matt wiped his lips again in disgust, glaring at Luke with hatred. "Do you really think a kiss going to stop me?!"

"Yeah. If that picture Derek took of us kissing leaks out to certain bigwig, oooh I don't know, your father? Things are going to be hell for you isn't it? If I remember correctly, he's not too keen about same gender relationship. And you being the only son, I think we got the upper hand here, don't you think?"

Matt snarled and scowled over at Derek. "It's not like I can't take your phone and delete it!"

Derek showed a vicious smile when he hit the 'send' button on his phone. "True, but you and your posse are going to have to get to Luke's, Gary's, Mickey's, Ash's and Richie's phone also." Derek closed his phone and stared hard at Matt and his gang behind him. "Last chance to take our offer, if not, I'll be sending the picture to the other classmates and there's no way of promising the picture won't get leaked."

Knowing Derek having everyone's contacts and being friends with Gary, Matt had no choice but retreat. Before completely returning back to their table, he threatens Derek and Luke of coming after them if the picture did get leaked. After responding nonchalantly, Derek and Luke stared at Gary with the goofiest smile they could muster and told him they'll have his back 'til the day they die. The two than continued onwards the café clerk and started ordering like it was nothing. Gary, Misty, Ash and Richie all stared at the backs of the duo and all had the same thought running through their heads. Those two were a force to be reckoned with and glad they were on their side.

The tension amongst the group thicken near the end of their breakfast outing. All thanks to a quarter of curious classmates had asked about Gary's behavior and how Mickey was doing. They actually meant well, they were nowhere close being in the same category as Matt and his friends. Already thrown away his 'image', Gary just didn't care anymore about the classmate's opinion of him; all he wanted was the subject to be dropped and be left alone. Granted he got what he asked for after giving his classmates an idle answer of his instinct took over because of a life-or-death situation. Content with the answer, most agreed they would have probably done the same if they were in his shoes. Finally being the only group left in the café, in utter silence, Misty took the opportunity and brought up her encounter with the shiny Jigglypuff.

Thanks to Misty breaking the ice, the group was lively again with more encountering and capturing stories from Richie, Derek and Luke. Gary and Ash kept to themselves and listen on. Somewhere along the way, the majority of the group decided a mini tournament Pokémon battle after breakfast. The one person that's always on board of battling backed out causing raised eyebrows amongst him. Ash had excused himself and explained he wanted to gets a head start on heading back towards the cabin and start packing. That was one of the reasons, the main reason is he had unfinished business with Mickey and also, he knew Mickey would follow. On cue, Misty told the guys that he's going to company Ash and will shortly join up on the Pokémon battles by yesterday's fishing pond.

After the split up with the group at the fork-road towards the pond and cabin, Ash and Mickey remain silent the rest of the way back. Ash entered into the cabin first, followed by a jittery Misty; whose in her own little own. More like gone, to the point she didn't hear Ash's question.

"Come again?"

"It's true that you like guys, right?"

As of three days ago after setting up 'Sunday's date' with Ash to reveal the truth, she decided to stop the white lies. Even if it puts her in a weird predicament, she was done digging herself a bigger grave. "Yes."

"Then what's the reason why I can't like you?" Ash asked firmly.

"Because you weren't supposed to fall for me, I never expected to put you in this kind of dilemma. You were meant to fall for Misty."

"Well, I didn't expect to be at war with myself and fall for a guy either. A brand new chapter in my life for sure, I must say." Ash ruffled the side of his hair in frustration and turned his back against Mickey. "Like I said, I like Misty too. But right now I'm more drawn to you. Confessing wasn't easy, you know."

Misty froze in middle of the room when Ash faced her again. "Ash, it's just—"

Ash stopped Mickey when he placed both hands on his shoulders. "Why is it difficult to return my feelings?"

"It's complicated."

"I'll ask again, is it because of Gary?"

Misty backed away from Ash's grip. She would be lying if she said Gary wasn't a factor, but the issue isn't about him. "This is about you and me."

"You avoided the question."

"God damnit, Ash! The issue right now is about you and me! We both know that I like you. What you don't know is that I've been harboring these feelings for you since the day you rescue me in the Viridian Forest. But I can't return your feelings, not like this!" Misty shouted while backing away.

"Tell me why?!" Ash stepped closer towards Mickey, waiting for a valid answer.

There was one answer that would explain everything and Misty knew it'll cause a catastrophe. With no more outs, what she's about to do had to be done. "Because Mickey is just a disguise," In a swift motion Misty pulled her shirt over her head, exposing her bind chest. "This is the real me. A girl who cross-dressed as a boy to be close to her childhood crush." While fiddling with her shirt at her chest, she found herself inching closer towards a staggered Ash. "Ash, please say something."

If 'timing' were a legitimate person, Misty would have personally punched him or her in the face. Ash had averted his attention towards the front door after the sound of it being shut close. There stood Gary and Richie mystified at the scene in front of them. The reason being back at the cabin was simply because Richie had forgotten his bag of Pokémon on his nightstand and had to retrieve it. If Gary had been the one to enter first, he would have accomplished keeping Richie out of the loop about Misty. Though it wouldn't have matter even if he tried, Richie had revealed about his acknowledgement by causally calling out her actual name.

"—Holy shit, I thought you were going to wait and tell Ash tomorrow." Richie raised a brow while naturally averting his gaze elsewhere from Misty's semi-bare upper body.

"When the hell did you find out about Misty?" Gary asked subconsciously, puckering a brow at Richie. But in truth the question was just a way to distract himself at the surreal scene in front of him.

Nobody said anything in the still-silent cabin. Essentially putting her shirt back on, mid-way things turn for the worst when Derek and Luke entered in. The two could sense the unpleasant aura amongst the group. Mentally kicking themselves, they knew they should have just waited at the pond and kept themselves occupied. Especially when they doubtfully commented about Ash finally finding, thus setting Ash off like a cannonball.

"All four of you knew about Misty?!" Ash asked angrily backing away from the group with his crutch. His gaze returned back at Misty filled with bitterness. "Why am I the last one to know?"

"I don't know! It just happened that way. Everyone found out at different times. I honestly don't know how or when Derek and Luke found out. Ash, I really did want to tell you. It's just the timing wasn't right and I got caught up in the life I formed with all of you guys."

"That doesn't excused the fact you lied to me! You knew from the very start that I don't tolerate distrustful people!" Ash lashed out and unfazed by Misty's hurt expression.

Gary would have been perfectly fine if Misty and Ash didn't reconcile, as every limb of his body second motion the thought. However the third party; his inner guilt said else wise. He just couldn't stand seeing Misty's hurt expression, even if he didn't cause it. Surely going to regret his choice of action, he chose to intervene to clear up the mess. "Give her a break. You weren't the only one fooled. We all were."

Once again, Ash gave Gary another ghastly glare that matched the one from yesterday. "You obviously knew from the beginning. It explains all the incidents and mockeries! You must have thought it was hilarious all those time, did you?!"

No matter what the situation is, the two always brings out the worst in each other. Granted it was only a mere attempt, he was done trying. "Matter fact, it was super hilarious! Was that what you wanted to hear?! If so, than you heard it loud and clear. Now get back to main objective and leave me out of this. It's about you and Misty right now!"

"How the fuck am I supposed to leave you out of this?! This all happened because of you!" Not wanting to go into full detail, he just blurted out whatever came to his mind. "You weren't the one who questioned his own sexuality and ended up falling for Mickey!"

Misty yelled for the two to stop arguing. Not like it was a new thing, just recently she couldn't stand the two fighting so heatedly. Especially after had noted Gary's and Ash's efforts of being civilize with each other. Her intervening prevented a physical breakout fight between the two.

Ash grew tired at the slight of Misty and Gary and needed to leave to cool his head. Making his way towards the door, Derek and Luke stopped him in his track after mentioning the owed favors. No doubt about it, he felt the world against him. The two had used their overdue favors to keep Misty around by having him promise not to say anything to Principal Dean or everybody else. Obviously Misty's stay would be until they graduate or when she decided to leave on her own accord. By do so for Misty's sake, Ash believed they we're all in the act in the beginning, with Gary. Additionally not knowing when his best friend found out about Misty's identity, it upset him even more. Feeling the utmost betrayal one could feel from everyone, Ash indignantly sealed the deal with Derek and Luke and left; slamming the door behind him.

"Don't." Gary said intensely to Misty when he saw her took a step in the direction of the door.

"But Gary, I need—"

"The fact that he slammed the door, he's pretty close to the edge of losing it and possibly beyond the point of reasoning."

Richie raised a brow at Gary. "How can you tell? Just by the way he slammed the door?"

"I've gone through this a couple of times when we were kids. If you thought my cold treatment was bad, he's two times worse." Gary looked over at Misty. "You and I are the last two people he'll want to be alone with. So—"

Richie cleared his throat to get Misty's attention. "Don't worry. I'll try to smooth things out for you. So for now, just hang in there, Misty." Richie gave an uplifting smile and headed towards the door.

Misty thanked Richie and was definitely glad he was on her side. Lifelessly falling onto the closest bed, hugging a pillow close to her face, a distressing sigh escaped. Haven't forgotten the three remaining bodies in the cabin, she rolled over onto her side and let out an indebted smile. Seeing the comforting return smiles and hugs from Derek and Luke, she felt the love and thanked them for what they did and all the other past favors. After finding out when the two found out about her secret, she finally devoted her attention to Gary. Only a few feet away, packing up with his back turned against her, she felt the invisible wall between them. He hasn't said anything after Richie's parting and that didn't sit well with her. Leaving Derek and Luke behind on the bed, she tugged at the back of his shirt; a new habit that she picked up between the two sometime after working together at Lil Pandas'. Receiving no sort of response, she muttered his name. Mind undeniably filled with Ash, she needed to know something.

"—Ash usually keeps his promises, right?"

Back still facing Misty, Gary continued packing; making it looks so effortlessly. "Have you forgotten that he's an annoying boy scout? He always keeps his promises no matter how angry he is. Are you afraid that he'll break Derek and Luke's deal?"

"No, that's not it. The thing is Ash and I, well Cousin Misty, have a date tomorrow. I made him promise to meet up because I had planned on telling him the truth and explain everything to him." Misty noticed Gary became motionless before slowly turning around to face her.

"Is that about it? Because honestly speaking, Ash is the last person I want to talk about."

The chagrin look from Gary made her uneasy. She could not recall a time ever seeing such an expression. A bit taken aback, a forced, nervous laugh escaped as a cover-up. "—Silly me, how could I have forgotten. Ash is always the last person in our conversations and yes, that's about it."

Gary's grumble could be heard a mile away. Thanks to his well-observant trait, he knew Misty's last sentence wasn't completely true. "I didn't mean it like that—"

"It's fine. I should have thought about your feelings too. You stuck up for me when you didn't have to and I haven't thanked you for that either. Man, I feel like a total jerk." Misty said with a distraught expression.

"Hah, you're nowhere near of a jerk compared to me. But if you want to make it up to me, answer me this." Gary paused for a bit to figure out the right wordings to a question he wanted to know. "Hypothetically speaking, if shit goes down south for you and Ash to the point where you want to leave. Would you stay if I asked you to stay?"

No words escaped her lips. The idea of someone else asking her to stay never crossed her mind. Ash has always been her number one priority and nothing more. Comparing their current relationship status to their first day encounter, she noted to herself they have come a long way to understanding each other. "Forget the hypothetically speaking nonsense, I would totally stay. Even if it means that I can't see my Darling Duplica any time soon." Misty said merrily. "You're my best friend and I would spend every last minute with you 'til graduation."

"Whoa, what are we? Chopped liver or something? We saved your little tush in order for you to stay and you're not going to hang out with us?" Derek asked as a cover-up to break the tension; that Misty didn't detect. He had noticed Gary's expression changed right after the words 'best friend' rolled off her tongue.

Unaware being in her own little world with Gary, she had forgotten about Derek and Luke. Feeling horrible about it, she went into a frenzy of explanations. Each explanation got countered, leaving her rattled more than the last one.

Leaving Misty to deal with Derek and Luke's continuous teasing, Gary resumed back to his packing in a far worse mood than before. Even though knowing that Misty would stay on his accord, the words, 'best friend' put him in a slump. Coming to the conclusion that's all he'll be to her, he decided to take what he can and uphold the 'best friend' title to the best of his limits.

** Meanwhile – At the Vacant Fire-pit Campsite **

"Well, this is fun." Richie said mocking the situation. The two had been seating in silences for fifteen minutes neither of them uttering a single word since they left the cabin.

"You followed me. Were you expecting a party?" Ash heatedly responded.

The way Ash queried, the two became silent again. It only lasted for a few minutes before Richie spoke up explaining when and how he had found out about Misty's identity. Soon followed by why he didn't mention anything to him. Expecting no less from Richie when it came to a girl's request, Ash didn't hold it against him as much. Still nowhere close to forgiving, a major venting was needed. Ranting on how Misty had lied to him from the get-go, he became more furious on how much of a fool he became for falling for 'him'. Once he got everything out of his system, Richie quickly suggested they should hunt down some wild Pokémon. Needing to calm down before returning to the reality dilemma left back at the cabin, Ash agreed.

While figuring out what's the best way to go about capturing Pokémon with his handicap, it finally hit him. Misty did not chase after him. He knew by now Misty's the type to chase and make up. He's seen it many times with Gary. It only took him a few seconds to comprehend Gary had most likely stopped her from doing so. Surprisingly, he was glad that had happen. Seeing the slight of Misty would have offset him into the deep end; a place he doesn't like to be at. However, he was already there. Deep down, Gary was the one that pushed him over the edge; Misty just happens to be the 'salt' added to his wounds. Blinded by the sudden memories of Gary's sarcasms and taunts involving Misty, his alter ego started to arose; a ruthless, coldhearted Ash.

A couple of hours later, finally returning back to the cabin, everyone's area but Ash's and Richie's were packed and cleaned. For once timing worked out perfectly amongst the group. Given the choice to leave their belongings at the main cabin until the bus arrive at two, Gary, Misty, Derek, and Luke took that option, just to avoid any more drama than needed. Ash went straight to his bed grabbed the note off from the pillow and crumbled it without reading it. Tossing the paper into the closes trash bag, he started packing peevishly. Lost in his zone, he had missed the disturbed, worried look Richie had given him.

** Safari Zone's Main Entrance **

To avoid any more gossip with the rest of classmates; while waiting for the bus, the group did pretty well on fooling them with their fake charade. They all stood near each other in pairs but only talks amongst each other and nearby fellow classmates to make it less suspicious. Even though it's all an act, Ash became more irritated by Misty. Who is perfectly fooling and blending in with the people around her, as he wondered what was true between them. That pondering soon disappeared when the bus pulled up.

Watching the classmates gathering and making their way towards the bus' door, Ash's eyes met up with Gary's. Oh how he wished that his icy glare was an Ice Beam, just so Gary could feel how jaggedly cold it is. So enraged at the fact how he had allowed himself to so optimistic and wrapped up on the idea of the two finally rekindling their friendship, he gave Gary the bird. Receiving no reaction, he still felt a little self-satisfied on doing so. The cynical smirk he had quickly changed into a spiteful one when Misty made eye contact. Feeling no compassion towards her apologetic stare, he crudely gesture her to turn around and aboard the bus with the rest of the classmates. Being the last one boarding the bus, he looked for an empty seat far away from the group. His eyes fell upon Misty; who sat away from the rest of the gang also. Before completely heading towards the back of the bus, he stopped at Misty's seat and coldly stared down at her.

"I'll see you tomorrow, just not at the original time."

"Then when?"

"Whenever I feel like it." Ash replied back coldly.

Misty instantly froze at Ash's tone and timidly nodded. But not knowing how long Ash was going to stick around, she quickly spoke up. "So you read my apology note?"

"Nope. I instantly threw it away the second I saw it." Ash said heartlessly and continued onwards ahead to his seat; behind Richie.

Knowing tomorrow's clarification meet up isn't going to be easy like a walk in the park; Misty threw her face into her palms. Exhaling and inhaling quietly to prevent an anxiety attack, she managed to keep calm but still needed another being's support. Sending a 'SOS/FML' text to the right person this time, her spirit beamed when her screen flashed 'Duplica'. No matter what the situation Duplica always manages to find a way to put a smile on her face. Rereading the replied text, 'We need to catch you a Leprechaun', her nerves calmed down enough to type up a clear explanation of what all went down.

With the fifth annual festival happening for the weekend, the bus came to another standstill after only moving about fifty feet in Viridian's heavy traffic. Being the seventh time stopping, Leo suggested walking the rest of the way back to the academy. It didn't take much convincing for all the Third-Years to agree. Walking through and checking out the festivities, some took notices of signs of 'Closed for the Weekend' on some shops and Lil' Pandas' being one of them.

Misty still planned on meeting up with Ash in her female form for tomorrow. But unable to use Lil' Pandas', she had no choice but to meet up with him as is. Mind still jumbled with thoughts, she fell far behind half of the classmate pack; while Gary, Richie and others had taken different routes. Still in a deep texting conversation with Duplica, she felt a body presence beside her. Breaking away from her screen to look over, she didn't expected that someone to be Ash. Before she could say anything, Ash cut her off with his emotionless stare.

"Let's meet up later today instead of tomorrow. I got errands to run, so I'll show up whenever I'm done. Also, do me a favor and don't mention about our meet up to anyone. It'll be nice for once not to have everyone up in our business." Ash said in a serious tone and received a nod from Misty before he walked away.

** Meanwhile – Outskirts of Viridian City **

"So how much can I trust you on keeping your mouth shut?" Gary asked Richie after getting the whole explanation of finding out about Misty.

"You really don't trust me that much, huh?" Richie asked starkly.

"Considering our past history, I have the right to question you, don't I?" Gary replied back unsympathetically.

Richie chuckled and looked straight ahead at the Storage Unit's entrance. "I'll give you that. But that all slowly changed when Mickey entered the academy. You don't need to worry about my big mouth. You're not the only one that is fond of Waterflower, if you know what I mean." Richie said in cheeky tone, just to confirm his suspicion about Gary. He got his answer when Gary grabbed roughly at his collar.

"Don't you dare mark Misty as one of your floozy-targets!" Gary quickly let go of Richie when he realized he fell for his trap when he started laughing and unfazed by his threat.

"With that response, you got it baaad for her." Richie chuckled and apologized. "I had to trick you. I knew asking straight forward you wouldn't have answered. I just had to find out."

"What's it to you?" Gary asked annoyingly and opened his storage unit to get his car out.

"Just curious that's all and you don't have to worry about me. I see Misty as a sister!" Richie shouted while Gary reserved his car out from the unit. With the car in 'park' and Gary locking up his unit, he tossed in his luggage and jumped into the passenger seat. He looked over at Gary when he entered back in. "Sooo beside the walk here to talk about me keeping my mouth shut, is there a reason for getting your car?"

"It's for you to go visit Terra. Once we drop off our luggage, I'm lending you my car so you can drive there."

"Really, now?" Richie asked hesitantly with a raised brow.

"I know you have a license and let's face it, I was only driving you to avoid Misty. Since that's not the case anymore, you can drive yourself." Gary nonchalantly said and drove towards the back roads.

"And what makes you think I want to go visit Terra today?"

"Let's just say I accidentally came across your private call to Terra the other night returning back to the cabin. If I can recall correctly, the phone conversation was close to four hours. That obviously means something, especially when it's you."

"I can't throw a fast one by you, can I?"

"Seems like it. Anyways I'm entrusting you with my car, just make sure you don't get pulled over or crash it or anything stupid. Oh, and the gas is all on you."

"Thanks, I guess. Hah."

"So, what's the story between you two now?"

"Honestly it's still up in the air. We're taking it day by day with the remaining time we have left. I can say though, I definitely don't hate her anymore. I thought I would hate her for the rest of my life but that all changed when I met up with her again. Funny how a certain girl can turn our lives upside down." Richie sneered and stared out the window.

"Isn't that the truth." Gary stated, ending their neutral grounds of understanding.

** Later That Evening – Third-Years' Dormitory **

Gary, Derek and Luke had the whole dormitory to themselves, all thanks to the nonstop forty-eight hour festival going on. Everyone was out enjoying the festival until the midnight curfew. The three had just returned from an Eeveelution activity gathering. Gary was reluctant on going and leaving Misty behind, but after mentioning she had her own plans at the festival, she encouraged him to go and 'show up' the other Eeveelution trainers. It also didn't help the fact she pushed him out through the dormitory doors with Derek and Luke after had gotten their Pokémon back. Well, all but one. Misty decided to leave Togepi with Brock a bit longer to get things cleared up without any interruption.

Casually feeding their Pokémon in the kitchen, Gary didn't notice Ash and Pikachu had stopped at the kitchen entrance until he heard a pessimistic laugh. The two locked eyes with one another, causing the atmosphere to tense up. If Derek and Luke weren't there to see it with their own eyes, they wouldn't believe the menacing aura they got from Ash. The same aura that Gary uses to give out before Misty entered the academy. This caused Luke to lean towards Derek's earshot range.

"Talk about switching roles."

"Can you really say the roles have been switched? From the looks of it, Gary's hatred glare is back." Derek whispered back, as the two quietly watched on.

Sensing Ash's dark alter-ego fully emerged from deep within; Gary still went ahead with his aggressive approach. "What did you say to Mickey?"

"Tsh," Ash smirked with a suspicious brow. "Don't tell me that person told you?"

"He told me nothing. I just heard it through the grapevines that they saw you talk to him before disappearing."

Ash looked pass Gary and put two and two together when he saw Derek and Luke. "I forgot those two were still around, when I approached him, whatever." Ash stared back at Gary. "Heh, I am surprised that he kept his mouth shut."

"Shocking isn't it? But that's how I was able to tell something was up. So what the fuck did you say to him?!" Gary took a step forward towards Ash.

"I don't have to tell you shit, Gary." Ash replied back and was about to step away but got caught up in Gary's tight grip. With his face inches away from Gary's, a low snicker escaped. "Why would you fall for a girl who could and probably will deceive you in the end? Oh, and I know about that background picture of yours. So don't even deny it."

Gary's grips tighten in frustration. He was the last person he wanted to see his background. But that was the least of his concern since he decided to answer Ash's question. "Been there, done that with her, so it's nothing I can't look past. You're just being a sore loser because I knew her secret, while you were the one who's been majorly duped since the beginning." Gary said harshly.

The truth drove Ash further up the wall, as he shoved Gary away. "True. But in the end, you're the one I feel sorry most. While you have these feelings for her, no doubt about it, we both knows it's me that occupies her mind and it'll always be me," Ash paused to give Gary a provocative grin. "How do you like them apples?"

"Not to spoil them, but deep down you know I'll always be around. I am the other best friend."

Ash grew tired of their tug-a-war argument and decided to throw the last blow. "Believe what you want. It doesn't change the fact that tomboy is out in the city waiting for me. Let's just say the last text I sent her was that I'm running late for our meeting. That was about four-five hours ago." Ash chuckled at Gary's silent hostile reaction. "Knowing her, she'll carelessly forget about the midnight crew and stay out there until I," Ash threw up air quotations. "Show up."

"Where's that park of yours?!"

"Like hell I'm going to tell you. She needs a taste of her own lying-medicine."

Gary quickly pulled out his cell and pressed Misty's speed dial number. "I'll just call and let her know the situation."

After had pressed the call button, it went straight to voice-mail. Gary didn't fret at the situation. He knew she wasn't avoiding him, ever since day one of exchanging numbers, Misty always picks up his calls no matter what. The only time that she doesn't is when she's either away from it or it has died. With no way of getting a hold of Misty and knowing her silly-antics, Ash's words got the best of him. Impulsiveness quickly took over causing him to run out of the dormitory, leaving Umbreon and the rest behind. Once he got to the academy's entrance, he managed to vaguely remember Misty had mention long time ago that Ash's park was in the North-East area of Viridian. While running towards the North-East direction, he called the only other person who would definitely have the information that he needed. It took three call sessions before Richie finally picked up on his end; after pulling over to the side of the road.

"Dude, I'm on my way back. Are you that worried about your car—"

"That's not what I'm calling for. Where's that stupid park that Ash goes to all the time?!"

"Haze Park, it's hidden behind the two connecting Mako-Corps buildings. What's going on?" Richie asked nosily due to Gary's heated tone.

"A fucking complicated situation as always. Misty's being an idiot and fell for Ash's vengeful-ego and is waiting for him to show up at the park."

"And you're going to stop it?"

"No, I'm going there to bring her back before our curfew. Douchebag-Ash, flat out told me that he is standing her up. Of course, that idiot let her phone died!" Gary bellowed in between the crowd.

"You don't sound pissed at all." Richie said sarcastically to lighten the mood but quickly changed his tone when he felt Gary's rage through the phone. "Well, not to cut our chummy conversation short, but I need to get back on the road to make it back myself. I have a feeling parking is going to be a bitch to find. Is there anything else?"

"Nope and thanks."

"Yeah, not a problem."

Thanks to their personal issues occupying their minds, the two had nothing left to say and ended the call as is. Habitually Richie would have stretched on the information but became smitten upon staring at the newly changed wallpaper. Before leaving the hospital, Terra had changed his wallpaper to a selfie-picture of them two the moment she said 'I love you' for the first time since their breakup. With a complete caught-off guard expression on his face, Terra stated it's a total picture-perfect moment. Still unsure about his status with her, he didn't say it back or even had a response. However from an outsider's point of view, he beamed like a lovesick fool.

** Meanwhile at Haze Park **

Misty stood near the edge of the pond, quietly staring at a Water-Pokémon battle. Thanks to the festival happening, the secluded park had all sort of people coming and going in. Being late into the evening, the number of people started dwelling down, which is perfectly fine by Misty. That way she could talk to Ash, whenever he shows up that is. Knowing that her phone has been dead for some hours now; about right after Ash had texted her, she still ended up staring down at it. Fiddling with it in her hand, her mind had about a hundred thoughts zipping through. Though it came to a sudden halt when she heard Gary's voice calling out her alias name. Turning around to see Gary panting from afar, the text conversation she had with Duplica flooded her mind.

** FLASHBACK to Earlier on the Bus **

'Sooo you finally realize you might have the hots for Lone Wolf, eh?'

While typing up her reply, Misty adjusted her seating to something more comfortable. 'I guess? IDK, maybe this is a phase or something? I did just make up with him and have been super-duper happy as a Shellder could be.'

Duplica snickered at Misty's reply and shook her head. 'Trust me, it's not a phase. You may not want to believe it, but you like him as much as Ashy-Boy.'

'Is that possible?! How can I like another that much in a short amount of time? Like, especially when I like Ash for about a decade now?'

'Oh it's possible. There weren't any other guys that have caught your attention with that Ash-Infatuation of yours. Lone Wolf just happens to break down that infatuation wall. Is it that surprising? If you were able to break down his aloof wall, then he could easily break down any of your walls too. Besides, there's nothing wrong on liking two guys who use to be friends and now are rivals, you know the typical drama-shit, lol XD Just keep in mind either it was as Misty or Mickey, both of them were total douchebag to you in the beginning and now both care for you in their own little way. That's probably why you like the both of them so much. Just throwing in my two cents, I'm on Team Gary. From our chit chats, I noticed its Gary who's always there for you. But who you want to be with is your choice and I'll support you. Answer me this question as best as you can. Whenever that meeting happens with Ashy-Boy and for some goddamn-drama-shit goes down (because it's always our luck like that) what would you do or feel if it was Gary who shows up instead?'

The smile Misty had earlier during midway of Duplica's lecture text soon disappeared at the question. She soon slumped further in her seat after pressing the send button. 'IDK'

Duplica wasn't surprised at Misty's reply. She knew it was a lot to take in, especially finally realizing her feelings for Gary. She really wanted to confess that Gary has taken a liking to her for a while now. But didn't, mainly being courteous to Gary. 'Don't stress on it. It's a drama-what-if scenario that we always do. Just take it one step at a time. Well, not much left to discuss about on Gary, sooo onwards to the next issue.'

** END OF FLASHBACK – Present Time – Haze Park **

It was supposed to be a 'What-If-Scenario', seeing Gary twenty-five feet away from her was not part of the plan. Clear like the starry night above her, she knew Ash had decided to stand her up. With Gary being at the meeting location that she never mention of the whereabouts, is a big indicator. Many mixed emotions ran through her entire body; expect her face. It remained expressionless towards Gary.

"If you're here, it only means Ash really did stand me up."

Upon hearing that from Misty made him in a fouler mood. "Are you serious? If you knew he had plan on standing you up, why the fuck are you still waiting here?! It's eleven forty-five! You do realize we're not making it back in time, right?!"

"Is it wrong of me to be so optimistic?! He said he was running late. My phone died right afterwards, so I couldn't leave!"

"Being optimistic and being an idiot is two separate things! Use your common sense. You would have just seen him again back at the dorm at some point. But nooo, you had to be in that stupid Ashy-World of yours, making you a complete fool!"

Misty knew deep down, but Gary's the last person she wanted to hear it from. With him throwing it in her face, she took her frustration out on him. "Listen here, jerk! You came here on your own accord! Don't you go yelling at me—"

Misty's lashing came to a halt when she and Gary got soaked by a Water Splash attack, commanded by one of the battling trainers. Gary glared over at the trainer who had the balls and told them they needed to 'cool down' from their 'lovers quarrel'. If this was any other time, he would have decked the trainer off the flat boulders into the pond. Lucky for him, Gary had other priorities to take care of. Roughly grabbing Misty's hand, he dragged her out the park to go find a hotel to stay for the night.

Gary and Misty quietly entered into their king size hotel room, with their 'His and Hers' complimentary basket of goodies and yukata robes. Gary quickly pointed at the bathroom and told her to use and change first. Misty didn't argue back. Gary's anger was on a whole other level. Couldn't really blame the guy, it took them eight tries to find a vacant room and every time they were referred to another hotel he became more irritated than the last.

Completely drying herself off, Misty used her towel and wiped away the foggy mirror and stared at her reflection. Mentally agreeing with Gary that she's been a total fool, a sigh escaped when she looked away. Slipping back on the only dried piece of clothing; her yellow lace cheeky panty, she than tightly wrapped and tied her yukata. Stepping out from the bathroom, her eyes fell on Gary in the loveseat chair dressed in his yukata. Nothing came out of her mouth when Gary quietly got up with his set of clothes in hand and headed towards her. Only to be passed up and disappeared into the bathroom. Hearing the faint sounds of the shower being turned on, she decided to wait on apologizing. Until then, she decided to go through the complimentary basket.

Getting overly excited at the slight of the variety of snacks, bottles of water, a sets of eye-masks, slippers, dental kits, a vanity and shaving kit, lessen her worries. Enough for her to get a tiny appetite going and while going through the snacks, she came across a small box of condom that made her motionless. She soon regained back her composer when reality hit her about the box being untouched. Calmly grabbing a snack and drink, she took a seat at edge of the bed.

Moments later, Gary stepped out from the bathroom with the hamper in hand to take it to the Guest's Laundry room. Noticing the opened basket, he quietly made his way over and grabbed a water bottle. With his trained eyes, he noted the rest of the items in a flash. Nonchalantly tossing the water bottle in the hamper and slipping on the slippers, he looked over at Misty.

"I'm going to toss our clothes in the dryer. I'll be back when it's done."

Placing her snack on the nightstand, she cleared her throat. "Before you go, I have something to say."

"What do you want to say this time?" Gary asked in a low, peeved tone.

Still seating at the edge of the bed, Misty lowered her head towards the ground. "It's always the same old tune with us, but I want to tell you that I'm sorry. Sorry that I've caused you so much trouble. Sorry for the way I acted earlier, especially when you came to get me. Thank you for always being there for me." Misty finally looked up at Gary. "Seeing you tonight instead of Ash opened my eyes to something I was questioning. I—"

"Apology accepted and I'm sorry too. Ash really got under my skin this time and I took it out on you. I'm still pissed off and to avoid snapping at you again, I need to go cool down. So I'll be out for a bit. You go on ahead and head to bed first. I'll be taking the chair when I return."

Misty subconsciously turned her head to look at the bed behind her. "You realize this is a king size bed, right? There's plenty of room for the both of us. If you're worried about waking me up, don't be."

"I'm not sharing a bed with you."

"Why not? We share a room together, so sharing a bed isn't a big deal."

"We're not sharing the bed. Think of the situation you are in."

It took less than a minute for Misty to get what Gary was getting at. "Gary, you're my best friend, I know you won't do anything."

Gary placed down the hamper and made his way towards Misty with a cold hard stare. A whitewashed snicker escaped his lips. "How naïve can you be, Misty?" Grabbing a hold of Misty's wrists, he pinned her down to the bed. "Best friend or not, I'm still a typical teenage guy with urges. Sleeping next to the girl I like, would be near impossible for me not to do anything."

Pinned down or not, shocked by Gary's confession, Misty couldn't move her body. Attentively staring up at Gary's serious stare, she swallowed hard before speaking. "Since when? You know that I—"

"Like Ash. I know that very well. He's occupied every ounce of your mind and soul and it's driving me senseless to the point I want to take the one thing he hasn't taken from you. Your body." Gary declared and inched closer to Misty's face. "You have no idea how much I want to fuck up our relationship just to snatch that away. Just to have a pity victory for my selfishness. But," Finally let go of Misty's wrists; using his forearms for balance, he leaned in and kissed her forehead. "You're way too precious and I could never do that to you." Gary pulled away and head towards the door, grabbing the hamper. "I'm at my fucking limit. So do us all a favor and leave the academy as soon as possible." Gary said solemnly and left the room before any protest could be heard.

So much was going through her mind once again with what just happened between them. But the last sentence deeply got to her, causing her to curl up in a ball and fought hard against the tears. Just yesterday he had hypnotically asked her to stay and now, asking her to leave. Needing to figure herself straight, she rushed to the hotel room's phone and dialed out to the Cerulean City Gym household. Four separate calls before someone finally picked up.

"It is like, almost two in the morning. Like, who in the world is calling?!" Violet sleepily yelled at the black videophone. Her attention quickly turned over to Lily; telepathically asking who could it be.

"Hey Violet, It's Misty. Is Daisy there?"

"Oh! Like hi, Baby Sis. There better be like, a total good reason for calling this late annnd Daisy's isn't here. She like, went on a weekend trip with Duke. Is there like, anything Lily and I, can help you with?"

"Like, hiii Baby Sis." Lily interrupted when she hit the speaker option.

"Hi, Lily. Sorry on calling so late, but I'm going to make this quick. I'm in a big dilemma. What do I do if I like two guys at the same time? Keep in mind that I just realized that I really-really like the both of them."

"Like, do they both like-like you back?" Lily asked to get more info. Since this is a rare occasion that Misty is asking for sisterly advice from her and Violet.

"Yeeeah, in a way? It's very complicated."

"Then like, sleep with them." Lily answered nonchalantly.

"What?!" Misty shouted horrifically over the cord-phone. This is why she rarely talks or asks any advice from Lily or Violet. Rather it's logic or not, the two always seem do say or do what they feel at that moment.

Violet started giggling uncontrollable at Misty's reaction. "Like, hear us out Baby Sis. You're stuck on the emotional, feeling stuff and like, obviously can't pick between the two. So like, let your body do the talking and picking. Physical contact is, and can be, a big factor to relationships. Like, no harms done. At least I don't think."

"Uhhh have you forgotten it'll be my first time if I do go through with the spontaneous idea?"

"Oh riiight, like minor detail right there. Totally forgot why we started nicknaming you Runt in the first place." Violet lightheartedly laughed. "Lily, how could we forget?!"

"Like, that's enough Violet, Baby Sis is serious right now." Lily lightly jabbed Violet in her ribs. "Like, listen hear Baby Sis, if dad were still around and you asked him, he would totally like, cringe and cry. We know this because it totally, happened to us. But like anyways, dad would man up and tell you it's your life and just do what you need to do to, yeah, something like that."

Violet signaled Lily to let her speak. "Then there's mom's outlook in life, like, if you feel like you made a mistake or two on your choices, don't dwell on it, learn from it. We're obviously aren't mom or dad, but like we said earlier, just sleep with one or the both of them. At least there will be emotional feelings, right?"

After hearing about her parent's advice from her silly sisters, her mind and body found its Zen. Surprisingly with a clear mind, taking her sisters advice wasn't a bad thing. They were right about one thing; there will be emotional feelings attachment involved. Nonetheless, something still bothered her. "Isn't first times supposed to be very special and planned out or so?" Misty asked and curiously waited to hear their options.

"Pleeease, if you like, think all first times are planned out with candle lights, flower petals and music in the background, then you're totally, living in a fairy tale world. Or what we like to call it, Daisy's World." Violet heard Misty's faint grunt. "Ok-ok, I'll give it to you that lots of first times are planned out romantically, etc-etc. But like, let's face reality, some aren't. Like, my first time was with some random hot guy at a friend's party. And we did it, like, in my friend's parent's bedroom. It was totally, suuuper fun for me." Violet said smugly.

Lily couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Like, my first time was totally, the right moment to do it mood. Even though it like, happened in the backseat of a Hummer. Totally not classy, I know. But I was, like totally in love with Damon and when we did it, it was totally magical in my mindset back then."

"Wow, you three have told me a lot but never have mentioned about your first times." Misty said and couldn't help but laugh just for the hell of it.

Violet joined in on Misty's laugh. "Well, now we have. We like, never mention it in the first place because Daisy set the bar high with her perfect man, Duke."

Lily scoffed at Violet's statement. "That is totally, the truth! Like anyways, Baby Sis, just do whatever feels right for you. I guess, just be smart about it." Lily commented sincerely.

Even though Misty couldn't see her sister's concern faces, she could tell just by their tones. Getting the encouraging advices, she thanked them and bid a loving farewell. Putting the phone back on the receiver, she sunk into the chair and pondered. Being at war with herself on taking up her sisters idea or not, a sigh of frustration escaped. If she were to do so, it'll only be with one of the two. Coming to the conclusion that her situation with Gary is definitely not a phase, she wanted and needed to know how well the two will mesh together.

** Sometime A Bit Later **

Awake or not, for courtesy of what went down between them, Gary knocked on the door as a warning he has returned back. Fully dressed back in his clothes, he stealthy entered the room. Hamper in hand; with Misty's clothes, it was suddenly dropped to the floor when Misty slammed him up against the door. Staring down at the intensity fire in her eyes, he slightly parted his lips to speak. Only to be silenced by a forceful kiss. For a brief moment, his mind went completely blank. Everything just happens so fast and out of nowhere. Granted that didn't stop him from kissing back. He wanted to break away from their keenly kissing to ask what's going on. It didn't happen when Misty started pushing his shirt up towards his chest. Actions do speak louder than words. Definitely no words explanation was needed for him to pick up what is about to go down between the two. With Misty being the one making the moves on him, he wasn't going to protest and came to terms that she has feelings towards him as well. Lips still pressed against each other, he made things easier by moving his arms out of the sleeves for her to push the rest of his shirt to his neck. The second she broke away from their kiss, the shirt was over his head.

Gary didn't wait for Misty to toss his shirt to the floor before he pulled her face back to his. He planned on not wasting away any time on what he has been dreaming of. Misty, being on her own page started hastily undoing his cargo pants button. While sliding off the slippers and deepening their aggressive kisses, he took notice Misty had stopped right after undoing his button. He didn't question it; just assumed she was just toying with him by taking her time.

Misty was nowhere near of being a tease. In actually she stopped because she became alarmed when her hand had lightly brushed against Gary's hard-on. She clearly knew the situation she's putting Gary and herself in. But she didn't expect for him to be erect so quickly. After telling herself it's natural for a teenage guy, she managed to continue on. No doubt about it, her hands shook nervously with adrenaline before grabbing a hold of the zipper. Nibbling away at his bottom lip, she managed to zip down his front and pushed down the cargo to the floor.

Making it over to the bed, Gary started undoing Misty's sash. Not too sure if it was due to his eagerness or just getting fed-up at the simple yukata sash knot, he thanked his lucky stars it wasn't a traditional kimono. Once the sash came undone around Misty's waist, Misty pulled Gary onto the bed. Hovering above, he broke away from Misty's lips and started placing trails of light kisses on her neck, while his right hand slid-opened the yukata.

xxx

Feeling her front exposed, her heart started beating uneasily. That feeling was soon replaced by a rousing sense of feels when her skin started burning. Each kiss, each sly touch felt hotter than the last. Everything got hotter when one hand started caressing one of her breasts. Little moans escaped her lips and when she felt a pair of warm lips on her other breast, the volume of her tone increased a bit.

Hearing Misty's moans from just fondling her breasts, made Gary yearning for more. Mouth and tongue flickering at her right breast, he adjusted his position to his side for his right hand to make its way down towards her panty. He felt her stiff up a bit when his hand slid underneath the lace material and before any objections could be made; he had inserted a finger in between the moist slit. He wanted her to enjoy her first sexual experience, so he searched for the 'sweet spot'. Slowly and carefully playing around her inside inner walls, a smirk crept upon his face when he had found it. Her moans became sudden gasps every time he hit that spot. Turning him on even more and losing a bit of self-control, he roughly inserted another finger deep inside. Only this time, it was a painful shriek from Misty. Quickly pulling away as Misty curled up in a ball, he was about to caress her head but stop himself when he saw his fingers slightly coated in red. Realizing he had torn her up a bit, he wiped away the light blood on his boxers and nuzzled her body against his chest.

"I'm sorry. It's best to stop here anyways." Gary whispered genuinely.

She remained in her fetal position. It didn't hurt as much anymore but she needed time to recompose herself. In the long haul, she wasn't surprised that her hymen got torn by foreplay. Thanks to her sisters giving her 'The Birds and the Bees' talk and also shared their very detailed experiences when she turned thirteen, she was somewhat prepared at what could or would happen. Like the myth of bleeding, some will bleed a little or a lot and some won't, everyone is different. Lucky for her, hers barely bled. Feeling Gary's hand softly caressing her back and knowing it's taking a lot of willpower to stop their spontaneous foreplay, she now understood how deep the word 'precious' meant.

Pulling away and pushing Gary down on his back, a tiny smile crept on her face. The words 'I'm ok.' slipped between her lips before she went in for a kiss. Only a kiss to be precise, she decided to copy his moves and started kissing his neck. Then trailing down towards his collar bones, then center down of his pecs and continuing down his abdomen. She stopped right below his belly-button and with a fretfully hand; she gently rubbed his erection from the outside of his boxers. After hearing a little hum from above, she started tugging down the boxers; Gary helped and assists on removing them. Keeping a calm exterior expression intact, she slipped out from her yukata letting it fall around her waist. About to be very intimate with a guy's penis, she wasn't as nervous she thought to be. But she knew if she did any gawking her nerves will kick in. Not wanting to lose the mood, she took his member into her mouth and slowly bobbed up and down. She soon heard a couple of moans, causing her to do a quick peek at Gary. Eyes close, head thrown back against the pillows and slightly biting down at the tip of his index and thumb.

This time, she had the upper-hand. Seeing such an erotic expression no one has ever seen boosted her inner ego. Remembering one of the many tip-theories she received from her sisters, she decided to see for herself. Gently holding at the base of the shaft, pulling her mouth at the tip of his penis, she twirled her tongue a few times before plunging deep down and bringing right back up to repeat. Preventing from any gagging, she took it slow at every deep throating. Slow and steady paid off. Gary quietly mumbled her name, lightly rocking his hip back and forth in her mouth.

About close to his climax to the new found sensation, his Man-Pride took over and abruptly pulled away from Misty. He wanted her to be the first to orgasm. Receiving the confused look on Misty's face, he drew her body towards and swiftly flips her onto her back. Tossing the yukata off the bed and sliding off the lace panty, he placed random kisses on her naked body. A few final kisses were made at the navel before he slithered down in between her legs.

Feeling every slow, torturous kisses on each of her inner thighs and the anticipation of him heading towards her mound, she became flustered. Before she knew it, a new pleasurable tingle hit below. Crying out in between her heavy-breathing, she was in a whole other place just by the touch of his tongue. The intensity grew drastically from her opening slit to her clit. Every circling lick caused her hip to twitch and each twitched made Gary more aroused and deepening their foreplay. Being stimulated on the outside by his tongue and her insides being teased by his index finger, a sensual tension started building up throughout her body. Not too long hitting the peak of the build-up, her body arched as she cried and clenched hard, gripping onto the sheets.

Pressing his mouth against her spasms lips, Gary took in the extra excessive clear fluid. Once Misty's body came back down; breathing extra heavily, he returned to licking her sensitive clit relentlessly. Doesn't matter what the situation is, he could find a way to be sadistic. Legs locked down by his arms, Misty couldn't escape far. Twitching crazily to break free from ongoing thrilling tingles, she suddenly cried out Gary's name in somewhat protest when another wave hit her. Satisfied with getting Misty to orgasm twice, he pulled away haughtily.

Wrapping the sheets over to her lifelessly body, she had no energy to look up in Gary's direction. But if she had seen the smug look on his face, she would have wiped it away with a pillow. Lying on her side to regain some composure, she still felt the aftermath tingles throughout; mostly her lower half. Even though she went through a pleasurable-torturous journey, especially the second round, she loved every minute of it. Wanting Gary to be able to feel the same, she cleared her throat and shyly stared up at him.

"Wanna grab the box from the basket?"

The bashful tone and look from Misty made Gary want to eat her all over again just to get another instant replay. However that will be for another time, that's if there's going to be another time he questioned. But it soon became the least of his concerns. Right now is the moment to go beyond the point of no returns of their typical friendship. When Gary left the bed to the basket on the table, he didn't bring the box back; he decided to slip on the condom right there and then. Each step back to the bed causes his heartbeat faster than the last. Climbing back on the bed, he slowly lifted the sheets up off of Misty and wedges himself in between. In his viewpoint, having the sheets covering them made it more intimate. Hovering over Misty's body, he placed her hand over his heart to prove he's nervous as well. Receiving a heartening smile, he leaned in towards her lips while parting her legs with his knee. Kissing her senselessly, he got in position right at her entrance. Breaking away, he stared down at her and got an approval nod.

Very much at ease, thanks to Gary's tender ways, she wasn't as stressed or edgy. But she still mentally prepared herself for what's about to come. Wrapping her arms around Gary's shoulders, she suddenly pulled his upper body downwards and sunk her teeth into his shoulder when he slowly entered her. Another sharp, but quick pain shot through her body. This time though, she managed through the unpleasantness after been told she could bite down harder if needed.

Though it's not the same pain experience, he didn't want her to be the only one in pain. Going at it slow and steady for Misty's sake, he noticed her bite started to loosen and became hard sucks. Undeniably a hickey will show up. Finally hearing and feeling some muffled moans against his skin, he increased his pace; causing Misty to fall back onto the pillow. Doting on her wearisome look, he went in for a kiss and penetrate deeper. Each thrust made her gasps and tighten her insides, thus pushing him further to the edge. He soon found himself thrusting into her more vigorously. With the increase in pleasure and Misty's moans echoing throughout, it wasn't before long he reached his limit. Quickly pulling out and hunched over Misty's body, he released his load into the condom.

If they were an official couple, the two would have been underneath the covers, cuddling and reflecting at what just happened. But let's face it, it's complicated and reality is a bitch for them two. With the adrenaline gone, the two dealt the 'awkward after-sex atmosphere'. Misty naturally shielded her body with the blanket and after tossing away the condom; Gary slipped back into his boxer and sat at the edge of the bed. Staring down at their scattered clothing, he wanted to know something and he needed to officially hear it from her.

"I'm going to be blunt about this. What am I to you?"

Misty didn't have a define answer for Gary, at least not just yet. Not knowing at the exact moment, she kept quiet and gave him a pitiful stare.

A/N: (5/23/14) Yeeeah, what a chapter *laughs nervously* I wanted to do a few things off my check off list and decided to use AFL/this chapter for it. One, I wanted to do a written out lemon-ish scene instead of an implied. Tried to keep it how Misty and Gary would be for their firsties but still not sure how I feel about it. Totally could have been written better, but meh, what's done is done and moving on XD Two, since there was an Evil Ash anime episode, I wanted to do an 'Asshole Ash' for a change of scene in AFL. Third, I honestly don't remember, hah.

Even though it's so-so forever ago, thankies so muchies for the last chapter reviews! Very much appreciated.

On my profile there's a link to my fanart scene of Gary and Misty being intimate. All parts are 'covered' one way or another.

Well I hope to hear from ya all and catch you in the next update. So until then, much lovies and ta-ta for now!
