Friends Forever?
Iris' POV
The day after the Meowth incident, Ash and Misty were still not talking to Dent and me. I sighed, it was going to be a long week. As I sat outside alone, I was thinking over what could've happened if we didn't stop Team Rocket in time. I kept kicking myself for what had happened, I never felt so guilty. I should've listen to Ash and Misty. I shouldn't have dragged Dent into it... I shouldn't have kept calling them little kids. They were older than Dent and me. They were engaged for Pete's sake! They had older friends too while Dent and I were only 14 and 15. (Yeah, I am about three months younger than Dent.)
Speaking of Dent, he was a gentleman. I don't know if he agreed with me about Meowth because he felt the same way or that he didn't want me to stand alone. I guess that was something that I would have to figure out. As for Ash and Misty, I woke up this morning and Misty barely said two words to me. I rolled my eyes but I had a nice conversation with Dent. I felt myself blushing. I think I really like him. Ash, however, didn't say two words to anyone. That was really weird because Ash is usually always talkative. He walked off, looking at the ground - as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.
Something was wrong. He didn't even want to go and find Elesa, the gym leader. Was he giving up because of what happened? Was he that mad at Dent and me to put everything he wanted on hold? Misty went chasing after him, knowing that something was wrong. I had that feeling too as soon as I looked over at Dent, he had the same face I did. Something wasn't right. I told Dent, "I think we should find out what's going on, we have a right to know. Even if they are mad at us." Dent replied, "You are right. Let's figure out this mystery recipe." I smiled as we followed Misty.
Misty POV
I was still mad at Iris and Dent. But there was something wrong with Ash, he didn't want to go looking for Elesa. I thought it was weird but the way he was acting was even weirder. He went outside to where the battle field was and seemed to take a deep breath. It was like he was mauling something over. I went over to him and placed my hand on his shoulder gently. He turned around to me and looked like he had been crying. "Oh Ash, what's wrong," I asked, hugging him gently. Ash returned it as I felt his shaky breath on my shoulder. I held him close and rubbed his back. Something was defiantly wrong.
Ash sniffled as he answered, "Aw, Mist... Today was the day I lost my dad..." I was a bit surprised by this. Ash rarely spoke of his father to me - or hardly to anyone. I don't even think Pikachu even knew about his father. I stated, trying to be gentle, "I didn't know that." He sniffled as he pulled away a bit. Our noses touched as he breathed on me a bit. My heart skipped a beat, he was so intoxicating to me. He replied, "That's because I rarely talk about it. My dad was killed by Team Rocket when I was nine and he had became a Pokémon Master." My heart skipped another beat as I looked up at him.
I couldn't believe what he just said. His father...could he really be...? I knew Ash was related to Sir Aaron - thus why he has aura and had Riley from Sinnoh help him perfect it before we even came to Unova. I questioned, "Wait, do you mean David Ketchum? The one Pokémon Master that was never recorded?" Ash nodded sadly as he explained, "That's why this journey is so important to me, I want to restore the family name. But I rather settle down with you, like I promised." "Oh Ash," I replied, tears in my eyes. He was just so sweet and in an instant, his lips were on mine. I returned the kiss, happily.
Ash's POV
I broke out of my kiss with Misty as she smiled at me. I smiled at her too. I was glad that I finally told her about my dad. Even though I wanted to prove my dad was a Pokémon Master, I wanted our happiness more. So that meant that either after this adventure or the next one, whichever happened first, I was going to marry my Misty and maybe have a family. However, I was still mad at Iris and Dent. Just then, I heard shouting. Someone yelped, "Look out, look out, look out!" I spun around and saw a flash of orange. The next thing I knew, I was in the fountain near-by. "Ash, are you okay," Misty asked.
But then she was knocked into the fountain next to me. I laughed as we saw Barry and Bianca. Barry started to yell, "Okay, I'm gonna fine you for being in our way..." That's when he saw Misty and me. He added, "Oh hey, its you guys." Bianca apologized, "We are so sorry, guys!" I chuckled, suddenly I felt a lot better. I replied, "It's okay. But it is good to see you two again." "I agree," Misty added. Barry commented, "We just ran into Bianca's father and he wanted her to return home. But she managed to beat Elesa with my help and she can stay with me!" "That's great," Misty stated, smiling.
As the two of them got out of the fountain, Bianca looked around and asked, "Wait, where's Iris and Dent?" Misty and I exchanged looks as Barry perked up. He asked, "Hey, what happened?" I sighed as I told them what happened. Barry and Bianca's eyes widen. Even though Bianca didn't know Meowth that well, Barry did. And he was in shock. Barry stated, "I can't believe Iris and Dent did that to you two. You know better than that!" Misty nodded in agreement and replied, "I thought the same thing. So we don't know what we're going to do about Iris and Dent...we hadn't even forgiven them yet."
Normal POV
Barry responded, "Well, I don't blame you, they didn't believe you about Meowth." "Still, I think you should at least talk to them," Bianca added. Misty shook her head and replied, "Right now, I don't think we should. We should train for the battle for Elesa." Ash commented, "I've been thinking about that, Mist, and I would like for my other Pokémon to help out to help Professor Oak's research." Misty was impressed by this as she said, "Well, sounds good. Who are you thinking about using?" Ash thought it over and answered, "Glalie, Bayleaf, and Gible." "Bayleaf will like that idea," Misty stated, smiling.
Barry asked, "But who will you send to Professor Oak's?" Ash thought it over and answered, "I think Snivy, Palpitoad, and Roggenrola. They'll like it." Bianca stated, "Elesa is tough but that line-up sounds like they can have the chance to take the badge." "You are right about that," Misty replied. Barry commented, "Well, good luck Ash." "Thanks same to you both," Ash stated. Both blondes nodded as Iris and Dent watched this all from afar. They knew that it was going to be at least awhile before Ash and Misty talked to them... Iris took Dent's hand, as he laced their fingers, both of them blushing.
