Mr. Brightside by The Killers

It was only a kiss

Cause I just can't look it's killing me

And taking control

Jealousy, turning saints into the sea

Swimming through sick lullabies

Choking on your alibis

"C'mon, let's go to the beach." Lanie whined. The stupid boys were inside their hotel room playing video games all morning long while the girls sat and watched.

"Lanie, we're almost done, let us finish this game." The Latin teen explained keeping his eyes trained not the television, not once looking at his girlfriend.

Lanie had had it. She rolled her eyes. "That's what you boys said the last game."

He just smiled. "Oh yeah." Kevin and Rick just laughed. Obviously they were going to be here for a while.

"If you girls really want to go to the beach, just go. Why do you need us?" Rick asked.

At this point the girls were really annoyed with them and their laziness and the boys were annoyed with all of the girls complaining.

Kate scoffed. "Fine." The girls got up from their spots and headed out the door.

"We don't need you boys to have fun with. We will find our own." Lanie sassed, slamming the door behind her.

Kevin was the only one to look worried. Rick just gulped. They were in trouble.

"Should we-" Kevin started.

"No." Castle and Javier said simultaneously.

"We can't let them win, Kev." Rick explained.

Kevin nodded.

"God, they are idiots." Kate said.

"Screw them. We don't need them. If they don't want to hang out with their hot girlfriends during their spring break, then we can find new bo- MEN to hang out with." Lanie spat.

"Exactly." Kate agreed.

"And hotter ones too." Jenny added. "That will make them jealous."

The girls huffed out a laugh at their evil plan.

Now, Javier, Rick, and Kevin were sitting in silence. Lost in thought. Should they cave and go after them. No! They don't have to do everything together, always. Right?! They went to the beach everyday this week.

"Do you think they really are going to find other guys?" Rick finally interrupted the silence.

"No. Have you seen us?" Javier stated. "...well me?"

"But what if they're better looking? Or even worse...frat boys!?" Kevin said in horror.

The other two looked at him, also horrified. "Maybe we should-" Rick said.

Javier didn't even acknowledge him and got up grabbing his swim trunks and heading for the hotel door.

Kevin and Rick quickly followed.

It didn't take long. They were out there for not even five minutes and three older looking men walked up to them.

"Hello ladies." The blonde one said. "I'm Brad. This is Blaine and Brock."

Kate couldn't help but notice that Blaine looked a lot like Castle. He had short dark hair and blue eyes. Although, she liked her boyfriend's eyes more than the ones she was currently staring into. Blaine's shade was too light and weren't as familiar as the ones she's used to.

"I'm Lanie. And this is Kate and Jenny."

Blaine looked over his sunglasses and smiled at Kate. Damn, that grin was cute. But it did nothing for her but make her feel guilty. "Where you ladies from?" Blaine finally spoke. After he was done checking Kate out.

"New York." Jenny answered.

"Sweet. The big apple...right?" Brad said as if he was unsure. Obviously he wasn't the smartest person.

"Yeah, what about you?" Lanie flirted.

"We're from Cali. We go to USC" Brock was definitely from California. He had the whole surfer vibe going on. Blonde hair and green eyes. The girls couldn't help but notice his muscular body. Really, they all had nice bodies.

"Oh. College boys." Lanie purred batting her eyes. Kate couldn't believe how far her friend was taking this. She wanted to make her boyfriend jealous, not hook up with these guys.

"Do you ladies want to grab some drinks with us?"

Jenny, Kate and Lanie all looked at each other. Slightly feeling guilty they nodded.

The boys decided to head straight towards their usual spot, only to find they were not there. "Where the hell could they be?" Kevin questioned.

"Maybe the pool?" Castle suggested. "Maybe they wanted us to think they were going to the beach."

"I bet this is some sort of game to them." Javier crossed his arms. Now, he was upset.

"Yeah, maybe they want us to go on a wild goose chase just to prove a point." Rick rationed.

Next thing they know, there's a rather large cabana blasting loud music down the beach. They could see a large group of people dancing and jumping into the ocean.

The three boys looked at each other.

"You don't think..." Rick began.

"They have to be." Javier concluded.

"I don't know. Jenny's not the type." Kevin decided to be optimistic on this one.

"Kevin, they have to be. I mean Lanie lives to make my life hard... when I piss her off."

Rick stepped in front of the smaller teen. "You really don't think they are over there?" Rick let out a laugh. "Kevin. I don't think you know our girlfriends very well. They are annoyed and pissed off. They want to prove a point to us, so they decided to go to a college party to make us jealous."

"I guess."

"Maybe we shouldn't play their game. Maybe we should play a game of our own." Javier began.

Rick raised his brow, intrigued with what his friend had to say. "I'm listening."

"Maybe, we go to the party. But instead of getting them out of there, we enjoy the party too. Maybe, find some chicas to dance with. Maybe, make them jealous."

"Ooo. The messers become the messees!" Rick said with excitement.

"Exactly!"

"I don't know. I mean won't that get us in even more trouble than what we already are?" Kevin said.

"Kevin. Are you in or are you out?" Javier asked. Both Rick and him were staring intently at the Irish teen.

Feeling the pressure, "fine."

The girls got separated from each other. Lanie was off with Brad talking to a group of college kids. Jenny was off in the ocean splashing around with a few people, while Kate sat inside the cabana sipping on her horrible tasting beer. Only having a few sips, she sets her cup down on the table in front of her.

She was having a horrible time. All she could think about was Castle.
She leaned forward and placed her elbow on her knee, holding her head in her hand. Kate sighed deeply and continued to have a bad time.

Maybe this was stupid. Maybe she was overreacting. They just wanted to stay inside for one day of their trip. But this was they're trip. She wanted to spend it together. And especially not fighting.

"Hey." A voice said sliding in next to her. It was Blaine.

She lightheartedly smiled. "Hi."

"So what school you go to?"

"Um. NYU." The girls had decided to lie and say they were freshmen in college, instead of high school students.

"That's cool. What are you majoring in?"

"Law. My parents are both lawyers. Thought I'd give it a shot."

"Whoa. So you're kinda smart." He grinned. Damn. He was cute and he was flirting with her.

"Yeah, I guess. What about you?"

"Undecided. Yup I'm one of those kids."

"Aw. I'm sure you'll figure it out."

He gazed into her eyes. Suddenly, feeling really guilty she looked away. She was not flirting with him. Was she?

She felt his hand on her knee. It was warm and drawing circles. She just looked at his hand. Nope. This was not happening.

"Listen, Blaine. I have a boyfriend." She confessed.

"That's cool. I can share." He leaned in closer as if he was about to kiss her. Nope. Definitely not happening. She leaned back creating a gap between them.

"No.. I- I love him. And I'm...very much commit-."

Suddenly, someone cleared their throat. Gaining both Kate and Blaine's attention.

It was Castle.

He was shirtless and had sunglasses and a backwards hat on. Two girls in very skimpy bikinis under each of his arms.

Kate jaw dropped.

Okay. She just went from feeling guilty to infuriated in .02 seconds.

"Castle?!"

"Kate." He smiled at her. "Ladies, this was the girl I was telling you about." The two bimbos giggled.

"Oh, Ricky. You're so right." One of the girls said.

Ricky?

Exactly, what is he so right about?

"So what were you saying." Blaine interrupted.

"Nothing." She smiled and looked at him. "Nothing at all." Kate stood up. Taking off her shirt revealing her black bikini. She seductively dropped her shirt on Blaine's lap. Grabbing her beer, she chugged it back. "Come on, Blaine. Let dance." She grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards the "dance floor", brushing passed her idiotic boyfriend.

Game on.

Okay, she may have gotten a little carried away. Normally, she would have never grinded on anyone other than her boyfriend. But since he was being an ass, she was determined to win this jealousy game.

Making sure Castle was watching, Kate grabbed Blaine's hands and moved them to her ass. He then got the message, loud and clear, and groped her. She saw that Blaine's actions had an affect on her boyfriend. His jaw clenched the way it does when he gets really upset.

Rick and Kate locked eyes. She could tell what he was thinking just by a look. This game was soon to be over. Suddenly, Blaine's lips are on Kate's neck. This caught Kate by surprise. She jumped slightly in the frat boys embrace and looked at him. He grinned.

Pop.

She was stunned.

Rick hunched over shaking his hand and Blaine is on the ground. It happened so fast Kate didn't even see that Rick had hit Blaine.

She gave him a confused look.

He just grabbed her waist and pulled her in. "Come m're" he growled. And next thing she knew he was kissing her.

She wins!

And she kissed him back.

The broke apart briefly. "I'm sorry." He breathed. "I was an idiot." He moved his hands to her face and pressed his lips to hers once more.

She jumped, wrapping her legs around his waist. "That was the hottest thing you've ever done for me, Richard Castle."

"You like that? Well, enjoy it. Cause we are never doing that again. You're mine, Kate Beckett."

"Always Yours."

"Always." He agreed.
