Forewords
The Imperishable Nights Arc is coming to a close, huh? It's just Eirin, Kaguya (they appear together in this chapter) and Mokou left and we're off to the Subterranean Animism Arc.
Speaking of Mokou, I wonder what will she think of her father's attempted proposal with Kaguya? I mean, would the Hourai Immortal rather have the Moon Princess as her stepmother than to lose her father?
Nobody's ever thought of the stepmother-or-rival outcome, eh?
Chapter 36: Help Me, Teruyo!
Time: 1255 Hour; 24th of July, 2125.
Location: Eientei Corridor.
"Eirin!
What is she doing?
Where is she, anyway?
I'm going to need more of those energy pills... Eh?
Are these, blood?"
*BOOM!*
"What was that?!
Eirin, where are you?"
...
Location: Remains of Eirin's Laboratory, Eientei.
Fumes were at every direction, blinding Eirin and causing her to cough.
However, the Outsiders are nowhere to be seen. Neither is the object they've been looking for.
"Hasta La Vista, bitch! *cough*" The guy-in-the-cap taunted from a corner of the lab remains. From that direction, a slight green glow can be seen moving out of the lab into a corridor.
Eirin gave chase to the Outsiders while trying hard not to breath in the fumes.
The moon doctor ran out of the wrecked lab and into the corridor, to find that the Outsiders have stopped...
...Or rather, was stopped.
Right in front of the escaping Outsiders is the Moon Princess, Kaguya Houraisan.
...
Location: Eientei Corridor.
"We're looking at the face of the original Kaguya-hime, right?" Harrison asked his boss.
"Right..." LT replied.
There was no need to describe Kaguya-hime, as everyone knew her appearance. Although she smells like potato chips.
"And that smell... Kaguya is a NEET, eh?" LT hung a lamp.
"Who are you calling a NEET?!" The moon princess called out.
"Uh, you?" Harrison replies with a deadpan.
"..." Kaguya remained silent for awhile. Then she spoke...
"Eirin..."
"Yes?" The moon doctor looked at the moon princess past LT and co.
"Kill 'em..." Kaguya ordered.
"Certainly..." Eirin acknowledge to order, and fired several arrows at once from her longbow.
Everyone crouched to avoid the arrows save for a Guard, who got hit on the shoulders. LT caught an arrow with his hands.
"My, my, Kaguya-hime. Isn't this a disproportionate retribution?" LT taunted while snapping the arrow in half.
"You do know that the arrow you just caught isn't normal, right?" Both Eirin and Kaguya said at the same time.
LT took a look at the arrow he's holding. It starts to release gas like the last one. LT quickly threw the arrow at Kaguya, but the arrow fell straight onto the ground as soon as he releases it, as though it didn't receive any velocity.
The arrow then explodes in a heatless cloud and brilliant flash, blinding LT and co.
"Tch... Not just bobby trapped arrows, but screwing the laws of physics as well..." LT cursed, while trying to regain his bearings.
"I'm not screwing physics..." replied Kaguya's voice. "I made the corridor larger from a non-visual perspective."
LT manages to stand up, unable to see anyone including Harrison. "Stretching space... Fourth Dimension is something science will never be able to crack."
More arrows appeared from behind LT. He manages to block most of them with the Zantankuto, while one had grazed his cheek.
"This might be one of the hardest fights I'll ever have in my life." LT told himself.
"True..." came Eirin's voice. "But assuming that you manage to defeat us, you're going to have a harder time looking for the next Zero Point Module in Chireiden."
"The next ZPM?" LT let that sink in for awhile, paying no attention to his surrounding for now by shutting off his eyes.
"Never mind that for now. Can't detect the displacement of air caused by them, due to Moon Princess's Space HAX..."
From his perspective, he could detect the displacement of air caused by Eirin's arrows.
LT quickly crouched to let the fly over him. But the arrows suddenly turned all the way around and went straight after him.
"Dammit! Homing arrows!" LT exclaimed as he rolled out of the way, letting the arrows hit the floor.
During the crossfire, the ZPM had slipped out of his hands and is now rolling toward the opposite direction of Eirin's lab, straight into Kaguya who literately appeared out of thin air.
"NNNNNOOOOO!" LT yelled as he starts running toward the Moon Princess who's attempting to pick it up.
But alas, he wasn't there in time due to the non-visual extra distance caused by her ability.
"Game over..." Kaguya taunted as she holds the ZPM in her hands.
It didn't help that LT fell down due to a sudden sharp pain on the spot just above his right ankle. It was one of Eirin's blinding arrows.
LT knew he's helpless at the moment, so he just lied down there without struggling after removing the arrow from his leg.
LT awaited his inevitable death. 1 second... 2 seconds... 3 seconds...
Until it was already a full minute, and not a single sound can be heard.
LT looked at Eirin to find a look of terror on the moon doctor's face. He then looks at Kaguya...
...Who was head-locked by a pair of hands from behind her. Her head twisted to a lethal angle and she looked like she didn't know what hit her.
The Moon Princess dropped down on the ground, with the ZPM rolling toward LT's direction. Behind the Moon Princess was LT's right hand man.
"Miss me?" Harrison asked. He then throws a Turk's Zantetsu-Maru at Eirin's direction. It wasn't lethal, but the blade hit Eirin on her shoulder and pinned her to a wall.
Harrison then picks up the ZPM. "Boss, you're not the only one with Off-sight Teleportation..." He reminded, while pointing a thumb at the men, including the Guard that got hit on the shoulders, behind him. "Let's get out of here, shall we?"
Everyone looked at Eirin, who has a look of scowl on her face. "Good one for the nation that once attempted the Apollo 13 Mission, which I sabotaged..."
LT was horrified by what the moon doctor just said. "Apollo 13? Sabotage? YOU?!"
"What about it?" The moon doctor replied with a taunting tone.
LT walked toward Eirin, held on his hand a fired bullet from an emptied WL-2. "My grandfather knew the space probe was sabotaged, but Neil and Buzz didn't believe him. Now that I found the saboteur, I'm going to make you suffer for the sake of Registan!" He grabbed Eirin by her neck with his left hand. "President Richard Nixon would like to see you in Hell! As well as my grandfather, Harold Summers!"
He made a quick stab on peculiar spot on Eirin's neck with the bullet, and blood began gushing out of the wound. "Heal that!" LT yelled.
Harrison and the others looked at their boss with shock.
LT turns back toward his men and drops the bullet on the ground. "It has been the wish of my late dad, Joshua Summers, to see the saboteur being apprehended. Now that I fulfilled his wish..."
Harrison gave a commanding look to the men. They understood the silent command and turned toward the entrance of Eientei...
...
Kaguya, still alive but unable to move a finger, looked at the departing Outsiders with all the movements she can manage.
Then with all the breath she could muster...
"The Outsiders are escaping! Soldiers, STOP THEM!"
The Outsiders sped up upon hearing that yelling...
Afterwords
I know the Apollo 13 has only two occupants during the mission, I added a third for the sake of Alternate History, so don't complain about Artistic License - History.
Aside from that, there goes Shady Dr Eirin and NEET Princess Kaguya. Now we have only Mokou left and the IN Arc will be over.
Yes, I know canon Kaguya has Time HAX just like Sakuya, but the way NEET Princess uses it suggest something else for me, and there it is: Kaguya using Space HAX.
Shout-out index:
"Eirin..." "Yes?" "Kill 'em" - may not count due to the common usage of this set of dialogue in medias, but I'm specifically referring to a similar line spoken in Disgaea: Hour Of Darkness.
That is all. "Until then..."
