Chapter 37

Barry had been running the main streets and searching every place he could possibly think Wally could have gone to. He blamed himself for this situation.

Coming home to find Iris in a mess, talking to officers is not how he wanted to return from a mission. Now after being questioned and answering the most convincing way he could think of he was out on the streets searching.

He knew it was bad to run when he was panicked but he couldn't wait for the officers to find Wally, even if he trusted them. Every time the clock ticked that a new second had passed was just too much for him.

When he snapped from his thoughts and realized he was in the middle of the city he silently cursed. This wasn't where he wanted to be.

Wally stumbled over his feet and fell into a cold puddle with a wince. His pajama pants were ruined, his shirt was ruined, and now his big toe was bleeding.

His green eyes scanned the unfamiliar area before closing his eyes tightly to block it out for just a second.

He didn't know how long he had been gone, or if anyone had even noticed. To him it felt like he had been gone for too many hours but with his hyper speed it could have just been a few minutes or so.

And his stomach seemed to think so too, he needed food, and fast. It felt like he was starving.

He clutched his stomach and slowly got back up, barely paying any attention to his pants that were now soaked with mud. Wiping his other hand across his face left a mud streak he barely noticed.

Carefully Wally made his way toward the entrance of the alley way and peaked out, from just a glance he was still in the bad area of Central but nearing the end of this nightmare. At least the first part of it.

Once he found his way out of this maze of buildings he would be able to ask for help, hopefully.

The red head gulped as he made his way out of the alley and started running down the street, ignoring the stinging pain in his foot or the fact he was running on fumes.

He had only run for a few minutes before he had to stop, finding himself now in the park. He spun around confused, trying to get his bearings as he caught his breath.

Out of the corner of his eyes he thought he saw something move, something that wasn't in the slow motion everyone else was at right now as he tried to slow down.

He shook his head and tried to take it as just a trick of the light.

Still he really didn't want to run anywhere else, or walk for the matter but food was important and so was getting back to his Aunt and Uncle's.

The eight year old stumbled a bit as he took his first step, a normal pace so no one would figure this out. He got as far as getting around the bushes before he tripped over his own feet and fell to his knees.

People noticed this fast; even having a woman rush over to him.

"Oh my God, sweetie are you okay?"

Worry lit her eyes as she went to help him up, seeing him shaking his head back and forth in an answer.

He felt dizzy, his stomach hurt, his head was spinning, and his feet ached terribly. He wasn't okay, he just wanted to go home.

She nodded, "What's your name?"

"W-Wally," he managed to stutter out, "Wally W-West."

She gave a soft reassuring smile, brushing some of her blond hair from her face.

"Hello Wally, I'm Lisa Snart."

She glanced around, her eyes lingering on a man sitting by one of the picnic tables and watching some tops whirl around on the wood.

"How about you come over to our table and rest a bit?"

He gave a nod and let her lead him over, giving a wary glance at the man when he looked up at her.

"This is my boyfriend, Roscoe." She smiled politely down at Wally trying to reassure him that everything was okay.

Wally only gave a small nod as his eyes darted around again.

Roscoe only gave him a small nod to the boy as he put the toys away, softening his features from what was concentration.

"So, Wally. What are you doing out here all alone?"

Wally looked up at him again, he wasn't sure if he should really tell this man what his purpose was but then again he had no energy to even think about getting back home. This was the only option he had.

Lisa handed him a sandwich from the basket on the table and he gave a quiet thank you. After taking a bite, and enjoying it immensely, he decided he would answer the question.

"I-I was kidnapped, the Trickster…or James, he was just…frightened and he took me and I escaped and ran and…I really have no idea how to get home or if he will find me or…"

Wally wasn't too focused on if his explanation made sense or not, he wasn't even sure if he should explain he was taken on that day since he probably looked like he had been missing for a while. Before he knew it though his sandwich was gone and he was feeling a little bit better.

Not as good as he would have felt if he were back with his aunt though.

Roscoe seemed interested in this little fact as he leaned on the table.

"The Trickster huh? So he is up to his old tricks then."

Wally really was starting to get disturbed by this guy, racking his brain for some connection to the name Roscoe but with him being tired and worn he wasn't sure if he would be able to remember it.

Wally just gave a nod and graciously accepted another sandwich from Lisa; who looked terribly concerned now.

"Dear, your parents must be worried sick."

A small wound just reopened when he heard that word; 'parents'. His dad would have been thrilled and his mom hardly ever knew him, didn't seem like she cared when she just walked out on them.

He looked down at the last bite he still had to take from the food, but his appetite seemed to have disappeared.

"I-I don't live with me parents anymore…just my aunt and uncle," he muttered.

Lisa glanced over at her boyfriend in concern and slowly pulled the boy close.

"I'm sorry dear…look how about we get you home now? I am sure they will be grateful to see you."

Wally gave a little nod, he had to admit he really like these two people. Getting up after Lisa, she gave an apologetic look to Roscoe before walking Wally to her car.

The look set bells off in Wally's head and he looked down at his dirty feet in sadness, he was becoming a burden for people he barely knew. Interrupting their date and everything; he was just so selfish and only thought of his own desires and not of the other's around him.

Getting into the back seats he told Lisa the address and they started off. The ride being silent unless Wally was giving directions.

When the car pulled up next to the house he was familiar with he was surprised to see a police car sitting outside and the door open just a crack with light bleeding through into the now growing twilight's air.

He got out of the car and let Lisa walk him up; nervously he pushed the door open to let the full blast of Iris's worried remarks and shouts from something to get done to find her nephew.

Lisa just looked down at him with an encouraging smile, in a way saying that she knew that he was missed.

When the door opened it was taken notice by one cop, whose eyes widened in shock and he moved quickly to inform the others. One of the officers calling the paramedics the other calling what seemed to be Barry.

Before Wally could explain how he got back or thank Lisa properly he was enveloped in a tight hug and bombarded with questions from the officers. He didn't pay mind to the questions just focused his attention on his hug with his aunt until the paramedics came and took him away so they could check how he was.

With all the cops gone, after recording the story about the Trickster and how he got back, Wally found himself wrapped in a fuzzy blanket and resting against his Aunt whom was resting against Barry.

His green eyes drooping every second or so as exhaustion tried to set in.

Wally was once again fed and patched up, now all he wanted to do was rest and forget all of this ever happened.

Still two good thing came out of all this, he had gotten to snag the Trickster's mask as a little souvenir of this adventure and now Barry was determined to keep training going.

A smile lit his freckled face as he slowly fell asleep.

Barry watched as he nephew drifted off before looking down at his wife. They were the oddest family he could have ever seen but feeling that panic as he rushed around the city.

That feeling of loss when he learned of Wally's disappearance, he realized at that moment that if anything ever happened to either of his stubborn red heads. His world would practically crash down around him.

Still, there was a problem, it seemed that even without trying the rogues were becoming more active in his secret life.

True as it is that James is probably the nicest rogues the man was still sick and has killed before he didn't want to imagine what could have happened if it had been someone worse that had taken Wally. If they had found out about the powers.

If there was any speculation that Wally wouldn't be getting involved in this life, they were being snuffed out one by one, and the finale candle had no reason to go out.

Wally would train not only to understand his powers now, but also to fight and defend himself since the life of a hero seemed to be creeping up on the young boy.

Blue eyes glanced down at Wally, fast asleep next to his aunt.

All that worry could wait until tomorrow, for right now Wally was just his kid that he was happy to have back in his wife's and his own arms.

A/N: This was longer then I thought it would be. So I think I finally have an idea on how I want this whole KF thing to take flight, of course it is a long shot but it is an awesome one. Though I won't spoil, I just got to say it is epic.

Love you all.
