"It seems Wonder Woman is on a case, Queen Elsa is dealing with those of her kingdom that haven't welcomed her back, Superman and Supergirl are handling a problem with a team of mutants, Freakazoid and Deadpool are...I don't know what they're doing and The Gotham trinity seems busy as well." Martian Manhunter stated, as he started up the qquinjet's engines. "That leaves us., although an earlier conversation with Ben 10 tells us that he and his cousin will arrive shortly.
"Yipee." Flash muttered.
"Any who, what about Green Lantern?" Sonic asked.
"...I couldn't reach him."
Hal Jordan sat there at the cafe table, sipping his coffee quietly behind his dark shades. In a booth some feet away, a little boy smiled in his direction and waved. After blankly staring, the hero in disguise waved back. The little boy tugged on his mom's pants. "I want my hair to be like his mommy!"
"Don't point, Tim. And maybe when you're older."
Hal chuckled, smirked and resumed his consumption of coffee. Then, a slight fog of noise drifted to his ears. At first, he thought it was his imagination...but the sounds became real...real sounds screaming...and marching? Hal glanced out of the huge window of the cafe, blinking in surprise.
An army of eight foot tall, crimson colored robots stood stiffly in front of him. Their silver, metallic faces showed grim expressions and their heavily armoured hands twitched with anticipation...
"Stop!"
A redhaired girl glared bravely at their faces, her small fists glowing with a purple flame. The Sixteen year old wears a red shirt paired with a black vest, gray pants, and black flats. Her scarlet colored hair is worn in a high ponytail down to her waist.
"Stop! Really?" Ben Ten repeated next to her nonchalantly.
"Well, excuse me. I wasn't born with your sense of battle words."
"It's called catchphrases, Gwen."
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Stop!"
"Indeed. Stop." Martian Hunter floated up from the ground and into the air, while the other heroes took up defensive stances behind him. "What do you want here?"
"The Green Lantern, Hal Jordan." The obvious leader of the robots stated just as stiffly as he stood.
"Whatever for?" Thor questioned with a tightened grip of Mjolnir.
"That is none of your concern."
Leo snarled and unsheathed his sharpened claws as electricity crackles from the tips of them. "He's my friend. You don't have a choice in what my concern is."
The Robot narrowed his eyes at the lightning lion cub and tried to swat at him with a large fist. Leo dodged with great agility and thrust his paw outwards, shooting electricity from his claw-tips. The robot stumbled as it servos short-circuited and forced it one knee. Suddenly, The Robot lunged up and grabbed the lion in half a second, before hurling far over his shoulder and into several buildings.
"Can someone distract Them?" Gwen rotated her hands one over the other as that familiar purple fire enveloped her hands, while Sonic and Flash took to racing forward and landing as many punches, then dodging their own blows. A blazing ray of the teen's energy burst forward, combined with Iron Man's Unibeam and struck through multiple bodies of robots. This didn't stop them from aiming their palms at their foes and unleashing their laser beams. Iron man raised his arms to shield himself, but Gwen yelped in pain, stumbling backwards onto the concrete street and earning the robots an angered look from Ben.
"Alright, Nobody pushes my cousin around except...well, nobody!" Ben twisted his omnitrix and slapped it as hard as he could. A green glow surrounded him before his human form changed dramatically into a humanoid, plant-like alien that has a mottled green and black colored body, mostly with a flame-patterned head and root-like feet, seemingly holding rocks. His shoulders and head have red petals and he is taller than his previous height . "SSWWAMPFIRE!"
"Yes, let us vanquish these foolish metal foes!" Thor commanded as he summoned lightning with his mighty hammer and flew forward to smash some heads. "FOR MIDGAAAARD!"
SBAANG!
SBANG!
SBAANG!
Three times Mighty Mjolnir battered into the faces of the space robots, and many more times did it block attacks. Before the robot could unleash a metal rod to strike Thor with, Buzzgirl sprayed it's arm with a thick flame and melted the metal enough to sever the robot's hand. Swampfire threw a punch with his stretchy plant arms and socked the metal being into it's allies like a bowling ball.
"Ya gaht sum sweet moovs." Swampfire complimented Buzzgirl, his voice changed to be more stuffy and nasally...but only because he had no nose.
"Thanks." Was her brief reply, since the electric strike of a metal rod silenced her momentarily. Not long after she disappeared through a wall, Leo charged into the body of another robot and used it's body as a baseball bat, smacking bots left and right for the various superheroes to fight against. Martian Manhunter restrained a bot with small difficulty, using his density ability to dodge attacks.
Thor was overpowered by a sudden punch to the side of the head and met the same fate as Buzzgirl, tumbling right through a wall. Iron man was elbowed in the stomach and used as a punching bag for a moment before a metal rod electrocuted him enough to mess up his servos.
"System reboot in progress."
Hawkgirl leaped in from behind to try and get a sneak attack, but the robot merely raised his rod behind him, which shocked her stomach enough for her to fall limp onto the ground. The robot held his rod in front of him, and the speedster heroes ended up running right into the bar and landing right on their backs. Meanwhile, Two other robots attacked Ben and knocked his torso away from the rest if his body. Of course, he was fine, but it would take a while to regenerate.
The robots stood in their same formation as the heroes tried to figure out what the heck just happened to them.
"Ugh...well...we got our butts kicked preeety good." Iron man groaned from the ground.
"That would explain...why I feel like a hockey puck." Flash wheezed.
"We must...keep fighting." Thor announced, not deterred by defeat in the slightest.
"No! Stop!"
A gigantic green wall separated the heroes and apparent villains from each other, and both sides saw the cause of the wall. Hal Jordan in his full green lantern costume floated above, glaring at the space bots. Slowly, the hero lowered himself until he stood right in front of the leading robot.
"You are the lantern, Hal Jordan?" It asked.
"...I am."
"Hand over your ring."
Hal Jordan reluctantly did so with a sigh. His allies behind him all seemed to gasp in unison at this.
"Hal, what are you doing?!" Tony asked the exact question on everyone's minds.
"Just stay out of this!" Hal Jordan ordered, holding out his hands to be put in chains. The robots held him tightly to ensure no escape, while the leader typed something into it's forearm quickly. A beam of yellow shrouded the figures...and in the next moment, they're all gone.
Including Green Lantern.
Hope you enjoyed this little chapter. And I didn't switch John Stewart with Hal because if any personal things. It's just that Hal Jordan is less talked about in my opinion.
