Title: In my sleep pt 1
Akashi x Reader
Akashi Seijurou is the heir—no he is now the youngest and also the owner of all the Akashi properties and businesses. He is the ultimate and of course, absolute...one and only president of it all.
He manages everything, from the smallest stall under his name, to the largest one his father owns...add to it the ones he started all by himself.
And by the age of 26, he was known as the Emperor of the business world.
It was said that he organizes underground dealings – this dirty dealings helped him rise up to the top that even the president and owner of the Atobe Corporations, one of the largest corp. in Japan didn't want to have anything to do with him...in all ways possible.
"To be honest, the dirty dealings and dark stuffs are beyond my knowledge...but all I know is that Atobe's father respects him...and Atobe himself respects him too. What else do you want to know?"
You frowned at the person in front of the class— if it wasn't your professor talking in front, you would've left the room to take a nap somewhere...or probably would've gone home to read the fan fictions you wanted to finish reading. But no, that guy standing in front of you is the substitute professor, Haginosuke Taki.
'I don't even know why we are talking about him, what was his name again?' you silently frowned to yourself.
Ah yes, it was your classmate's idea to ask him questions to avoid having the lecture your professor left to him to be lectured to your class...It would've been fun...but they talked about business...and you don't care...you don't care about it at all.
You were 19 that time...and you just got back to your feet after your 2nd boyfriend broke up with you...he was far the longest relationship you had...of course the first one was like...lasted for 8 months...until you found out he was flirting with your neighbor's cousin. The second was like your first love...yea... it was the first time you fell in love with someone and he suddenly confessed his love for you too...but that ended a year after you graduated from high school and moved to college... after that break-up you transferred to a university in Tokyo where you started forgetting everything about him and all...
Anyway, that doesn't matter- but I just want you to know that you have another boyfriend now, your third one...but your attitude towards boyfriends and lovers are now different from the way you do so before—let's just say, you learned your lesson from the previous one.
You stared at your phone when it started blinking. You were lucky that you were at the back, furthest from your professor's podium. He cannot see what is on your desk and what it is you are reading.
'I'm outside the university; the usual cafe, come here after your class. –S.' you frowned at the message.
'What am I? A dog?' and you were planning to go to the library today too...Oh well... date isnt a bad thing once in a while, right?
"Okay class! You can go. Don't forget to get a copy of Prof. Shishido's lecture at my office." Professor Taki announced before he dismissed you all.
You watched as Taki left the room; he flipped his hair over his shoulder like a girl does...
"Hair flipping pansy." you chuckled to yourself. He didn't hear you...he was already far away.
Then you started walking to the entrance of the University...you can hear student around you murmuring about something parked outside...
"It's an expensive one, I tell you!" the other called.
"It's a sports car, right?"
"The new model!" the other whispers.
"Why is one parked there?"
"Probably has a meeting with the university president." You heard them talk about their thoughts...you followed the trail of their eyes and it stopped in front of the university gates.
"What a show off." You commented quietly as you looked at the brand new car you don't even know what model and whatsoever.
You walked almost past it when a man with a red hair popped out of nowhere.
"You there." His voice called, it was commanding and it immediately made you freeze in place- 'Did he hear me' But you didn't look at him...he wasn't calling for you...or so you think he wasn't.
"You with a (h/c) and (f/c) bag." Ugh...what the fuck?
You looked over your shoulder with wide eyes...you were suddenly not feeling good...but you cleared your thoughts and tried to act...more...calmly.
"Yes? H-how can I help you?" you looked at his face briefly, and your eyes darted to the other people and students who are looking at the two of you.
"Where is the president's office?" he asked.
"It's inside." You murmured... stupidly. You can almost see him raise a brow at your answer—if that was possible while you're looking at something that is not him.
"I mean, the main staircase to the left it will take you to 2nd floor where the elevator to the 4th floor is then to the last room to the right...is the-"
"Look at me when I am talking to you." He ordered, you flinched and yet you immediately looked up at him...
Heterochromatic.
His eyes are of different colors.
You blinked.
"Good." He commented, "Here" He walked up to you and placed something warm on your arms and you accepted it.
When you looked down on your arms, you found something that surprised you.
/Mewl/
You blinked twice...thrice.
/Mew/
A kitty.
"It went under the car when I parked," he started, "If I didnt noticed it immediately, it might die later if it stayed under the car." He said before he walked back to the driver's seat and opened the door to get his coat.
"H-hai..." was the only thing you can say and you started petting the kitty, almost forgetting him.
"Fourth floor, last room to the right." He repeated, startling you.
"Y-yes!" You were surprised to see him still there watching you petting the small kitty.
"Thank you." He then started walking into the university, but not without looking back at you again, "You shouldn't stand there looking so vulnerable with that cat. Take it to somewhere safe." He instructed. "Away from the road."
"H-hai!" you answered as he disappeared inside the building.
Your heart started pounding so hard the moment he left the scene., and your head went blank...no wait, it was already blank when you started holding the cat in your arms.
You love cats.
Whatever cat it is around - They are all small little precious little angels to your eyes...and so cuddly and cute and adorable and cute and so fluffy and sweet and-
"(name) over here!" you were suddenly and once again pulled out of your internal reverie about cats and kittens.
"Ah, Sai." You frowned again as he approached you.
"Where were you, I've been waiting for you over there at the small cafe- why are you holding a cat?" he noticed the small cat on your arms.
"Eh?"
"Put it back to where it belongs."
"Where?" you didn't really want to though.
"You have five cats already- don't tell me you want that one too?" you didn't answer; yes, you are guilty.
"Don't be stupid. Look over there!" Sai, your boyfriend pointed at the small box near the store across the street. There was a big cat there. It was looking at the box and seems like licking something inside of it. Slowly, you noticed other small kittens inside.
"Ah! This little on probably jumped out of the box!"
"Yes." Sai sighed. "Now, put it back there."
"Ok." You smiled and patted the kitty one last time before you crossed the street...
"Let's get it back to his family." You excitedly said.
*catCatcatCatcatCat*
You've been reading your sister's text message to you while you were having dinner with your boyfriend.
We both know it's rude to read text while with someone, but you just can't help it...he's talking with someone over the phone- he looked so...into his speech with the person on the other line...whoever is that, you don't care.
'(name)-chan, can you come over to my office tonight? I'll be working all nighters today again, and that cat that you wanted to have...Mika-chan is giving it to us.'
You responded, 'Really!? Cool~ ok, I'll drop by laters.' You smiled happily at your phone.
"Why are you smiling so creepily?" Sai asked.
"Nothing. Why are you talking with someone so seriously?" you shot back, innocently.
"What do you mean seriously?"
"Let me guess...it's that Miyaka again, no?" you said as you gave him a smile that doesn't reach your eyes. It was an innocent smile...but if they know you better,, they'll notice that you weren't happy about it at all.
"Don't answer me if you really don't want to- I don't really care." You suddenly mumble, and he didn't too. ..But he looked guilty.
'One more strike and I'll seriously strike you with a bat...' you silently cursed. You know it very well that your boyfriend is flirting with someone, but you didn't confront him about it...yet.
Anyways, there's a new cat and this one is different from your cats at home. So the angsty feels is forgotten and replaced by a happy one.
It was later that night when the news flashed a very unfortunate car crash accident...
Your eyes widened when you heard that screeching sound of tires- it was already late that night...and the road was almost empty your heart raced as you immediately look over your shoulder and clutching the box you were holding into your arms tightly and you were expecting something to see –but there was nothing...nothing at all...
Nothing...
Everything turned black after Akashi Seijurou stepped on the brake, it wasn't his fault. It was the other driver's fault- he knows that. He is absolute, therefore he is right.
The last thing on Akashi's thoughts was that kitty earlier that he picked under his car the moment he parked in front of the university...
|| "Look at me when I'm talking to you." He said. He remembered looking into your own (e/c) orbs.
Ah yes...you too...
|| "Good, here." He watched as your expression of slightly frightened turned into a very innocent looking child.
He walked away from you after he repeated your instructions to him about the direction of the office of the university president...but he stopped.
|| "You shouldn't stand there looking so vulnerable with that cat. Take it to somewhere safe." He instructed. "Away from the road." He didn't forget to remind you to stay off from the road...you looked like you were somewhere else during the time you were holding the kitty.
In the end, it wasn't you who needed that warning, it was him...
What a premonition...
Akashi steps on the brake but it was too late...
The other car went straight over the traffic island and crashed straight to Akashi's own- it was unexpected...an accident...
Death?
You came home running that night as fast as you can...you thought it was the end of you-
But it wasn't...
But you almost thought the screeching sound was just right behind you-
But it wasn't.
It wasn't.
You were relieved, as you hurried back home.
You opened the gates of your house that night and your dog welcomed you home.
He begun licking your hands and then smelling the box you were carrying...examining it.
"What took you so long?" You heard your mother calls when she opened the door for you.
"So-sorry, nee-chan wanted me to drop by her office - look!" You opened the box and showed him the fur ball inside.
It was a Persian kitty. A ball of yellow and brownish stripe like of those tigers...
"A new cat?"
"Mmhm- nee-chan said it was given to her by Mika-san." You told your mother, "Also, there was an accident around there somewhere..."
"I see. Go inside and wash up...have you had your dinner already?"
"Yes. It's fine. I'll feed him first." You pointed at the kitty inside the box."
You smiled as the kitty ate small amounts of the food you gave him... the cat calmed your fast beating heart from the earlier event.
You wondered what happened there...you felt sadness when the thought someone dying there... but there's nothing you can do, right?
You placed the small kitten on the cat basket you have and placed it next to your bed.
The little fur ball looked up at you with its wide eyes... but it didn't meow-ed...no sound at all since the start...
'He's just probably trying to familiarize himself first' you commented before you walked to the closet and changed to your sleeping clothes.
"Good night kitty." You called and petted him before you jumped to your bed.
The next day you woke up and showed your niece what you bought home last night,
"What's its name?" She asked. "He looks like a lion!"
"I know right? Let's see-I haven't thought of anything yet."
The two of you were talking that morning when the news flashes a very surprising news to the business world.
"Last night the youngest most powerful businessman of Tokyo, Akashi Seijurou..."You didn't listen to the news really; you just heard some part of it...
'Coma, 26y/o, with a little hope of surviving.'
"Poor man..." you commented when you looked at the television. "What happened? Why coma?"
"Car crash" your mother supplied.
"Aw~ that's so sad." You half-heartedly answered. "What was his name again?"
"Akashi Seijurou."
"His name looks very promising." You commented, "sound so perfect..." you added. "Ah! I'll name little kitty Seijurou!" You suddenly decided.
"Why?" Your niece asked.
"Because he's just perfect- look at him!" You lifted up the little fur ball, "so cute and adorable and I know he's smart too!" You giggled at the kitty, kissing its nose.
The kitty just blinked at you.
"And also, look at that man who died or something- he's a young businessman of some sort- that means he's great- little fur ball here deserve to have a name of someone great like him- let's just not add the accident he got okay, Seijurou-kun?"
You turned to the kitty you were petting at the last part.
The little fur ball blinked back at you and eventually turned away and ignored you. You pouted.
"So mean, kitty boy!"
"Stop playing with your cat." Your mother reprimanded, "let him get familiarize with the house first." She said.
"Oh- okay." You patted the cat's head before you placed him down back to his basket. "See you laters then, Sei-chan."
With that you went off to school.
It was a normal day, just like every other... but then you've heard most of your professors talking about the unfortunate accident last night.
"I heard the news!"
"Poor child."
"He was so young too...and to be in a coma?"
"He was just here yesterday..." one commented.
You walked past the group of professors who was having tea at the cafeteria and you turned to you boyfriend's direction...
"Who are they talking about?"
"I don't know...the businessman who got involved in a car crash yesterday probably?"
"Oh, the one on the TV?" you asked.
"Yes, I think so."
"Hm..." you shrugged, "I'm not familiar with the man..." you paused slightly, "Ah! I forgot to tell you, I have a new kitty!" you started blabbering happily at your boyfriend about your new cat.
"What's its name?"
"Seijurou."
"That's so long."
"Just because your name is only 3 letters- fine, I'll just call him Sei."
When you got home later that day you went straight to Sei's basket...but he wasn't there, so you started looking around for him.
"Mom, have you seen Sei?" you called.
"No, he was just there...at the basket."
"He's not there. Check your sister's room."
"Ok." You went upstairs and checked your sister's bedroom. Your sister was under the covers...sleeping.
"Nee-chan, have you seen Sei?" you shook your sister's shoulder slightly.
"mmh?" she moaned under the covers. "What Sei?"
"The kitty yesterday."
"Mm...He's at the garden..." then your sister went back to sleep.
"What!? He'll get dirty! Why did you let him go there alone!" you jumped off her bed and went straight to the gardens, it was almost evening and the sun is setting...with his color, its hard to see him there.
"Sei!" you called him and you started looking behind your mother's big pots. "Oh noes~ there are mean cats around here!" you mumbled worriedly.
Yes, aside from your own cats...there are huge stray cats wondering around- what if they hurt him!? He's too young to fight back- he'll be eaten!
Then you hear a small cat screeching, following the sound, you found a huge cat angrily staring down at the small one he was cornering.
"OI!" you shouted! Scaring the bigger cat away immediately.
"SEI!" you shouted as you picked the little kitty that was shaking and its small heart beating fast. You checked his body for bruises and wounds...and he had them all... you brought him back inside.
"Mom...Sei-chan got into a fight with the big cat." You called.
"Huh? Is he ok?"
"He's not moving mom!" you almost cried worriedly... he fell asleep on your lap, panting and probably scared and traumatized.
"We should take him to the vet." She advised.
You woke your sister up.
"Look what you did. My poor baby is injured." You laid the small kitty beside your sister. "I took him to the vet- he said he's ok- but he isn't waking up!" you grumbled.
"He'll be fine...I left him there because he won't let me touch him after I placed him back down." Your sister yawned as she sleepily petted the sleeping kitty.
"What's his name again?"
"Sei."
"Mika said his mother died upon giving birth- so she gave me this one...since she cannot take care of it."
"Oh. Do you think Sei's fine?"
"Yes. He'll be fine...you take care of it." She told you.
"yes, who else would?" you jumped to your sister bed, shaking the small kitty, but not waking up...yet.
The next day, you found the kitty curled up into a ball at his basket.
"Oh look at you, you're soooo adorable." You cooed as you took your phone out and took a picture of him sleeping.
You tickled him and everything trying to wake him up...when he woke up, he opened his eyes.
You stared at his eye for a good 2 minutes. Surprised.
Your eyes met a pair of heterochromatic ones...
"I'm very sure his eyes were brown the first day, sensei." You brought him back to the vet the next day.
"I'm not entirely sure; there are no cases as what you are implying you see...cat's eyes cannot change like that over a night...and also, you just probably didnt noticed his eyes."
You frowned.
"But is having eyes like that...ok?"
"He seems like he doesn't have a problem with his sight...he was just tired from yesterday's fight with other cats. I gave him a shot for rabies too, just to be sure that he won't get them from other cats..."
"Ok sensei." You picked the kitty again and nuzzled its nose... "Come little Sei, let's get you home." You cooed.
The kitty just stared up at you.
"Aw...you snobby little kitty~" you were really hoping for a reaction from it like the rest of the cats, but it didn't.
"He's a mean kitty." The sensei commented.
"I think so too. He's not really very sweet like my other cats." You chuckled. "But its fine, he's cute. Thanks again sensei."
"No problem, the next follow up for his shot is next month. Don't forget." He reminded you.
"Hai." You walked back home with the kitty on your arms.
You also really love going to that vet, the sensei is a nice young man. What was his name again? Ah, yes... Arima Kenji.
*mean awhile*
The doctors are all around the bed of the famous Akashi Seijurou. They are all examining him... normally, a nurse would be the one watching over him...but the old man Akashi ordered that a doctor must be around at all times...
Also...
Last night, the young president stopped breathing.
"NO! Do everything in your power to make him live...I don't care if he's in coma...I know he'll fight back to live...I know my son." He said glaring at the doctor who was asking him if they should just remove the machines that is attached to the young president's body since he wasn't responding at all.
"He will come back. I know. I am his father." The old man pressed.
Since then, top doctors are the ones changing shift watching over the young president.
"He will be fine."
*catCatcatCatcatCat*
"His eyes suddenly turned red and yellow!" you told your boyfriend who was texting that time about what happened to your cat. "And he started acting cold towards me!" you whined.
"You're probably pissing him off." He commented while texting.
"No! I just love him like how I love all my cats." You smiled, taking out your phone and showing him the photos you took.
Since that night you took him to the Vet, your cat Sei changed attitude. He was a snob...and he doesn't meow at all... all he does is just stare at you with its heterochromatic ones and you know that he wants something...it was a silent understanding...
Of course, the kitty can't go off without getting a forced hug from you. First, you are not scared of cats. Second, to hell if you're a snobby cat- I own you.
So the poor Sei always gets cuddled forcedly. But he's a cat so he must secretly love it too right?
Sei is a very demanding cat.
Your mother always tells you to not let the cat eat on the table with you...but that cat will just stare at her and sit on the table waiting for his food bowl.
Your mother will would just sigh in defeat and lecturing you about teaching your cat manners... you'd just laugh it off.
"Sei has manners mom... Look, he eats on the table with us. Every time." You pointed.
The cat also loves drinking water on a glass...seriously?
Yes.
He wants the water cold too.
"It's because you're spoiling him." Your mother pointed.
"Because he needs to be spoiled." You answered jokingly, picking up the lazy cat who was watching the two of talk from the couch like a lazy king that he is.
It's been a year since you got Sei as your new cat...and everyone adored him too. There is even a time when he was strolling outside late one night and your mother got out of his friend's car...and all her friends went:
'Awww~ look at that adorable cat! He looks like a lion too~' they saw Sei standing outside the gates waiting for your mom, following behind her when she opened the gates. Your mother smiled at him and his friends awed at the cat.
Sei is a quiet cat; he never meows at you or to anyone. When he wants attention, he will just stand in front of you or your sister and stare…stare at you with his heterochromatic eyes until you get his message.
"Food?" you asked Sei when he sat down in front of your computer monitor and stared at you. When you smiled and patted his head, you stood up and he followed you.
It was always like that.
Even at night, when you are still up late at night working on your school projects…you were on your last term and finally you're graduating college…but the last term was the most stressful term ever, it makes you stay up until morning...but it wasn't that stressful anymore whenever Sei walks to you and rubs his face on your legs… even though your time gets wasted whenever you lift up Sei onto your lap…you feel better afterwards. It was as if you are refreshed and recharged…
You get back to work when he falls asleep. You placed him on the bed and you went back to finishing your project. An hour later, you moved yourself next to Sei on your bed…
When you wake up the next day he's already sleeping on your stomach, sometimes he fits himself between you and the pillow that you love to cuddle.
Sei doesn't like cuddling though…but he doesn't like it when you cuddle with other objects…
*catCatcatCatcatCat*
"So this will be his last shot for the year. But you'll have to bring him back to me again every month for his checkups. Since we're trying out his new diet, we need to check on his weight too." Arima sensei instructed.
"I understand sensei." You placed Sei on the table, and he just casually laid there licking his stomach too while the two of you are talking.
"Also, I want to know if he's still fighting with the other cats?" the doctor asked.
"No. the other cats aren't coming around our place anymore…I think Sei scared them off." You started smiling at the thought.
"Really that's nice. Your cat is really nice, but I think he has an attitude." The vet chuckled.
"Well, everyone's spoiling him." You answered proudly.
"I see now," Arima touched Sei but he retrieved his hand when Sei tried to scratch the Doctor Arima's hand playfully (?).
"Ah! Sei, no!" you reprimanded him, but he just stared at you and Arima just laughed it off.
"Don't mind, don't mind (name)-chan." He pated your hair, Sei stared at you and at Arima…then Arima walked off to his drawer to get a syringe and Sei's shot.
Sei watch him do so while you were currently preoccupied on petting his fur.
"Its fine, Sei. It's only a shot." You cooed.
"You really love cats (name)-chan." Arima stated when he appeared behind you.
"Yes, I love cats…especially Sei." You smiled at Arima who smiled back at you, "can I now?" he asked and gestured to Sei, holding the syringe.
"Mm." you nodded as you stepped back from the table where Sei is, and then seconds later…it was finished.
"There you go…" you heard Arima and you walked to back to see Sei glaring at Arima again, licking the spot where Arima injected his shot.
"Awww~ my poor Sei got a shot…but he will not cry right?" you started cooing Sei and he started rubbing his face on your hands… and you find this adorable…
Then Arima smiled at patted your head.
"When are you graduating (name)-chan?" he asked.
"Next year, Arima-sensei." You answered.
"Are you planning on working immediately?"
"Not really. I have to go to a review school after graduating and prepare myself for the final examination for professionalism."
"That's nice- would you like to work here as part-time then?" he asked suddenly.
"Huh? Really?"
"I see you like cats, and you really don't have a problem with them. Mostly my patients are cats so, it'll be fun."
"Cool! I'll think about it first though." You decided.
"Sure, that's great. OH!" when you both look down at Sei…You found him peeing on Arima's lab coat.
"I'm very sorry Arima-sensei!" you immediately took out your handkerchief and wiped the pee-stain off Arima's coat.
"O-no, no! don't worry about it, I have a spare one at the back." Arima stopped you from wiping his lab coat.
"Sei!" you reprimanded Sei, and the cat didn't even care about it at all…not guilty…
NOT FEELING GUILTY ABOUT IT AT ALL.
But being a cat lover yourself, you don't have enough strength to stay mad at him for a long time…not even longer than five minutes.
"I'm very sorry again, Arima-sensei." You guilty apologized to him.
"It's alright, really. Don't worry about it." He assured you.
*Four Years*
It has been four years since you got Sei as your cat. He's seen you through pain and happiness; break-up and whatever you do with your friends.
And yes…the first thing you did after graduation is you cuddle to bed with Sei. The kitty- no, the CAT happily snuggled closer to you as you both drifted to sleep.
You were happy, you were attending review classes for the exam you needed to take in the future and then Sei makes you feel better after you had a very stressful day.
But there is one problem…this was noticed by your sister.
It's been days since Sei started lazing around your room all morning; he isn't going out anymore to stay under the warm sun…and also, he wasn't eating properly besides water…
"(name)-chan, Sei looks like he's sick." She said one time when she was petting Sei on his basket while sleeping.
"Huh? What?"
"He seems unstable, look at him carefully…he walks around the house, before he knows what he wants; now he seems uncertain whenever he wants to eat or drink water…I think we should get him to the vet for a checkup." Your sister suggested.
"Eh? But Arima –sensei isn't around for the rest of the year. He's on overseas project or something like that." You said.
"Is that so? I think there's a new vet near the market place. How about we take him there?"
*catCatcatCatcatCat*
"Akashi-sama, the medicine that we gave your son the last time is affecting his body very well."
"Will that help him recover immediately?" the old man asked.
It's been four years since Akashi went on coma…
There is really nothing wrong with him…all they have to do is wait. After the first time his heart stopped beating…it didn't happened again. All is well...the only thing they are waiting for is for him to wake up.
"His body is receiving proper amount of nutrition a person needed to survive…"
"That is good." Hs father commented as he watches his son sleep inside the ICU…his hair was longer now…and he looked mysteriously comfortable in his sleep.
"Seijuro…" his father closed his eyes. "…I know you'll come back."
*catCatcatCatcatCat*
"I don't think this is a good idea, nee-san" you said to him while standing in front of the vet clinic.
"It's just a checkup." Your sister assured you.
And then you both entered the clinic. The woman at the reception examined Sei who obediently sits on the examination table.
"Was he drinking enough water?"
"Yes." You answered, "In fact he drinks a lot of water when at home."
"I see." The woman examined him further. "Do you take him for grooming?"
"No. Not really. I am the one in charge of his baths."
"Would you like to avail our grooming services?" she asked.
"No…I think I can handle him on my own."
"But you see, miss…" the doctor- no wait, was she just an assistant? "Here," the woman showed you Sei's ears… "The insides of his ear are really dirty, and if you avail our grooming services, he'll get really clean inside out."
"Is that necessary? I just came here for checkup…"
"The doctor will be pleased to check him up when cleaned too." You frowned.
"I think its ok, to let them bathe him here, with that you don't have to bathe him at home. It takes time for you to catch him when he started running from you when you call him for baths." Your sister commented.
"…fine." You let the woman take Sei who was sleeping…
At first you thought he was going to be ok…but it didn't end up like how you expected.
Your heart pounded as you hear Sei's angry meows at the person holding him.
"HEY! You're not holding him with care!" you commented angrily.
"They are professionals miss, they can handle him." The woman commented.
"But my cat is hurting." You murmured worriedly; but after hearing another angry sound from Sei, you entered the room where they are bathing him. And Sei immediately jumped to you from the tub- you accepted him even though your clothes got wet.
"Sei! I'm sorry!" you worriedly cooed him, he was shaking and you noticed that the water they are using aren't warm enough for Sei's taste.
"I'll take it from here-"
"But miss-"
"He doesn't like it." You glared at the woman. "He's not feeling well already, and you bathe him with cold water? It's freakin November for goodness sake!" you angrily shouted.
"Then you took the towel form the person who was holding them and wrapped it around the soaked Sei who has his nails dug into your shoulder and skin. You winced as you pull him from your shoulder just to wrap him on the dry towel.
"It's okay baby." You cooed. And that when Sei calmed down.
The doctor checked Sei later that day; you didn't care even if your clothes are wet from earlier while you talk to him.
"I noticed that your cat drinks a lot of water, it's a sign that the cat is probably experiencing an organ problem. Mostly kidney problem…"
"What is his diet?" the doctor asked.
"His diet is being monitored by Arima-sensei until last year, but since he left for an overseas project, I continued feeding him his normal food."
"I understand now. Does he eat normally?"
"I noticed that he doesn't eat too much anymore and he sleeps a lot to. Sometimes he meows without reason. Sei doesn't meow ever since…but lately…" your sister answered for you.
"I see. Since he's not eating very well… I advice that you should leave him under our care for a while. We will put an IV so that it'll be sure that he'll get proper nutrients that his body needs." The doctor advised.
"…"
"What do you think?"
"But - can't we just take him home first? He looked so stressed right now." You offered, not really wanting to confine Sei.
"But miss. If you let this situation longer, he'll grow weak and he'll die."
"He looks better before you suggested that (fucking) grooming thingy." You commented.
"It was for his good too. And Sensei didn't want to check up on cats that isn't well-"
"Isn't well groomed?"
"I let this cat sleep on my bed every night; I don't think he's dirty." You angrily whispered.
In the end, your sister convinced you to let Sei stay over the there with an IV on his right- front foot."
Sei wasn't moving like he naturally does. You really did notice that he's starting to grow weak each day to, but you thought it was just because of the weather, so you always made sure that he stays comfortably inside your room…you sighed.
"He'll get better after this. This is for the best." The woman assured you.
"…" you didn't respond to her, instead you turn away without saying anything.
Sei stayed the whole night at the Vet clinic. The next day you came to visit him first thing in the morning.
"Is he doing well?" the woman looked up at you and pointed to the cage inside the room.
"He isn't eating anything he's not taking the medicines we are giving him." You frowned at the woman.
"What's that supposed to mean?" you asked, irritated.
"We took a blood test yesterday and we found out that his hemoglobin counts are not normal, instead of 104, his is 84. He's anemic. Another thing too is that he is dehydrated."
"What do we need to do now?" You asked, confused.
"The truth is, there is nothing we can do, and the only thing his body is accepting is the nutrients the dextrose is providing him."
"Wha-" you frowned when you heard her say. "What does that supposed to mean?" You demanded for explanations, but then your attention went back to Sei's cage.
He was looking at you. He looked so weak. Your eyes started tearing and you cannot hold the tears back anymore.
"Sei-chan." You whispered quietly.
/meowl/ he meowed hoarsely.
"Sei~" you cooed, your tears started falling. You can see how much he wanted you to lift him up and take him home. The cat itself doesn't meow. Just when there is something wrong- and there is something wrong right now…he is not feeling good.
Sei weakly stood up. He cannot even support his body to stand fully up without wincing from the pain of the IV on his leg.
You lifted him up, not listening when the people in charge told you not to lift him up from the cage… you sat down on the floor and let Sei climb up your shoulder; nails from his paw digging down to your skin- you didn't mind them…
"Sei-chan…" was all you can say, "Please eat- and take your medicines so we can go home soon." You said to him in between sobs.
"Look at yourself; you lost a lot of weight." You continued as if the cat understood you…
Your sister came in after an hour and he found you there petting Sei to sleep inside his cage. Sei's eyes were opened and were just staring at you as your tears continue falling from your eyes at the thought of his condition.
To be honest you didn't really get the real condition of your cat; but the people around talks like he doesn't have any high chance of living… You know, you can sense it from the way they talk about it.
Your sister cried to when he noticed the difference that occurred to Sei after he stayed a night at the vet. He looked like he didn't eat for days and he was so weak only staring at you as if he doesn't want you to leave him there alone again.
(I'm crying right now; I was using the way my cat looked like last week…)
When Sei falls asleep, you turned around.
"I wanna go home…lets go home while he's sleeping…I don't want him to see us leave him behind again" You whispered to your sister then you marched off leaving her behind.
You wiped your tears as you stepped out of the clinic.
When you got home, you went straight to your room and you cried your heart out until you mother knocked.
"What's wrong?" she asked, and you told her about Sei's situation. Your mother wasn't happy about his condition too; she was the one feeding Sei whenever you are not around and that is almost all the time especially during the years that you were still studying.
"I know! Why don't you go and visit Arima-sensei?" your mother suggested.
"Arima-sensei isn't around yet—if it's him Sei's probably won't be in that condition! But he isn't here yet- and Sei's so weak already." You close your eyes and buried your face on your pillow.
"How about trying to call him?"
"I don't know his number." You grumbled.
"His kouhai works at the Hospital nearby, how about paying him a visit? Then ask for Arima-sensei's number."
That is the reason why you are currently standing in front of the office of Midorima Shintarou, three days later.
"Sumimasen?" you asked as you knocked on the door and peaked slightly inside.
"What is it?" you hear a voice called.
"Is Midorima-sensei around?" you asked as you let yourself in.
"What do you need from him?" the person asked, you looked at the person sitting at the couch, reading a newspaper. He has an unusual green hair.
"I'm just going to ask something about Arima-sensei?" you responded. This made the green haired man lower his newspaper.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"I'm one of his patient- (last name). there's an emergency and I just want to ask him something because Sei's really weak!" you started blabbering when he asked who you were.
"Sei?"
"My cat." You blinked at the man.
"…" The man's eye twitched…he stood up immediately and took a card from his drawer and handed it to you.
"I trust it's a real emergency, (last name)." he says and you nodded.
"Yes, it is!" you assured him before bowing in gratefulness and leaving his office.
You started walking at the hospital's corridor until you reached the dead end.
"Eh? Did I-did I take a wrong turn?" you asked yourself. "I probably did, huh?" you pocketed the card the doctor gave you and went back to where you turned-'eh? Did I take the left or the right?'
You got confused as you wondered back to Midorima's office-but unfortunately, the next turn was another dead end.
You frowned and looked around, only to find a room without a door—no, probably the door was just at the other side of the room.
This is probably the visit room of the ICU patients…since they can't enter the place. There was an overly large mirror where you can see what is happening inside to your patient that is admitted inside.
You were confused when you only found one patient inside. He doesn't look like he's on his worst too…
'He looks like he was just sleeping…' you commented
He has a shoulder length red hair; you can see that his hair was a little spiky too if it wasn't just that long up to his shoulders now…
You looked at the name written on the bed.
"A-Aka Seijurou?" you read the name.
You stood there and watched the man sleeping peacefully on the bed inside the glassed room. His left hand connected to an IV and other various machines that are probably use to notify the people around him about his stats…
"Akashi Seijurou." You sighed.
*beep beep beep*
There was a silent thumping of heart…then one of the monitors started beeping—alerting the doctors on duty.
*beep beep beep*
You nervously stepped back as you noticed the people inside panics around the man's bed.
One of the doctors walked to where you stand and he motioned a five at you before he walked back to the bed and whispered something to the other doctors- then he walked out of the room.
Minutes later, a man approached you.
"Miss, please come with me." He said taking your hands with him.
"He's heart is slowing down rapidly, we called his father but he's not around yet; since you're the only one here, we might as well let you inside. I feel like it will make the patient happier when a relative or a loved one is nearby and not separated by a glass wall."
"A-anou—I don't know what you are talking-" you tried to explain to him that you were just lost, but he didn't listen, instead he pushed you to the dressing room and gave you an ICU gown to wear and a mask.
When you finished changing, he let you inside the ICU room; he stands beside you in front of the bed of the red haired man lying on the bed with several IVs and other machines attached to his hand.
"We've been doing our best for the past four years…but this young man wont still wake up…there was nothing wrong with him anymore… his father refused to let him go too." The man explained.
"You know, you are the first woman to come here and visit him- how come I never saw you around to visit him?" he asked.
"Huh? No- I am-"
"I know you are scared of his father and what the people might say- but if you love each other you shouldn't just stay there hidden and wait for something to happen…" he says.
You are terribly confused now.
"But I just came here to talk to Midorima-sensei about Arima-san's number…" you murmured, defeated.
"Now, why don't you talk to him? I'll give you five minutes alone together."
"EH? No- you don't have to-"
"Yes I have to." He pressed, walking out of the door leaving you inside on your own with the almost as good as dead person.
"EH? What should I say?" you sighed, and then you peaked at the red head's face.
He was pretty handsome… His bangs though are covering his face already, but you can see that he is a good looking man indeed.
"So I heard you've been here for four years" You mumbled quietly, your face is starting to turn red from the embarrassment of talking to a person in coma.
'You can do it! You've been talking to your cats since day one! How come talking to a person in coma embarrassing?' you reprimanded yourself.
"You know, I'm not forcing you to wake up—and I didn't know what happened to you too…but there's probably someone waiting for you out there, for you to wake up again. So, don't miss your chance to live…" you said, "You know, my cat is weak at the moment. His name is Sei. He's a very adorable cat…even though he's a snobby one." You started telling him the story of you and your cat and this time, you started crying again.
Somehow, the pent up emotions you were keeping inside you since the day your cat became weak and was admitted to the vet clinic was released as you speak to the one sleeping in front of you.
"…And I don't have anyone to talk about all the feels I have for that cat. So I'm really sorry for making you listen to my childishness." You chuckled as you wiped your eyes.
"You really should wake up already, Akashi Seijurou-san." You said lastly said after you smiled at the name plat he has on his bed. "It was nice meeting and talking to you." You chuckled and then you left the room.
That time, no one notice that one of the red head's finger moved.
|| "You really should wake up already, Akashi Seijurou-san."
Later that day, you went straight home and dialed the number at the card.
"Arima-sensei!"
"Who is this? (name)-chan?"
"Yes!"

A/N: MUST READ!
Sorry about this OOC one. I just suddenly got inspired to write one because of my cat. My Persian cat is currently confined at the vet clinic. He was really weak and I mean really really weak. And the vet cannot do anything for him anymore so we took him home from VET1. He was really really thin…I was crying all the time for 6 days already, and we decided to call one of the pet owners we know and he recommends taking my cat to VET2's clinic… and that's what we did yesterday.
Since he was not taking in any food and is only wanting water he needed an IV help him get back to shape. It was said his blood is poisoned too…so the only way is to clean them through IVs and have the cat get proper energy to fight the illness himself…but he cannot do that if he isn't eating so an IV is really needed.
This will be a two shot since I'm really sleepy now.
I feel really depressed that I can't start any chapters from all the fanfics I am working on…but I was suddenly inspired to write this one- so I did…while crying halfway as I keep remembering the was my cat looked at VET1's crappy way of taking care their patients.
Will upload tomorrow the next chapter.
Help me pray for my cat please?
