With Chace.

"I don't think this it that big of a deal." Troy said telling Chace.

"Yes, it is." Chace said flippin' his stuffy over to look for his wallet.

"Look, if you need weed that bad, I'll tell you what. You just pay me back when you have the time."

"Really?"

"Yeah. It'll be better than you going to the powder."

"Thanks, man. I'll be sure to get ahold of you when I get the money."

"It's cool. You're a good customer."

"Thank you, again. You should head out before my parents come home."

"Yeah. I don't want them to know who I am." Troy laughed.

"I know." Chace laughed walking him downstairs.

An hour later, Chace is sitting in his room after he smoked.

"What happened in here?" Chace's mom asked as she walked in.

"I couldn't find my wallet."

"Did you find it?" his mom asked looking around.

"No. Why are you snopping?" Chace asked a bit upset.

"I'm not. I just don't know why you haven't had any of your friends visit."

"I don't feel like seeing anyone right now."

"A quite bit of time has passed."

"I know. But no one wants to see me. Notice that no ones banging down the door to see me."

"Staying here isn't going to help."

"Mom, I'm not going to use. Staying home helps. I've been going to counseling like you wanted. I'm working on what triggered me to start."

"At least start working out again."

"I will. What did you want in the first place."

"Do you remember Bryan Roberts?"

"The kid that lived next door?"

"Yes. We ran into his parents at the museum. They're back in town and I invited them to dinner tonight."

"Really? I didn't really like the kid, mom."

"Well, he's changed. He's been in the army and did a year. His sister just graduated from college to become a nurse. She's really pretty."

"Did you just do this to set me up? I don't want to date anyone, mom."

"Why? Hayden and you are over."

"So. That doesn't meant that I want to jump into a relationship."

"That's fine. Just get ready. They should be here in the next hour." She said walking out.

About an hour, Chace is sitting next to his dad watching football while the door bell rings.

"That's them. Look alive boys." Chace's mom said as she went to the door.

"This is so stupid." Chace mumbled as he stood.

"I know. I have to wear a tie." his dad joked.

"You remember my husband." his mom introduces.

"Yeah, Mike. How's it going." Said Joe.

"My son, Chace."

"I remember you when you were this high." Joe smiled and shook hands with Chace.

"I grew." Chace joked.

"My son, Bryan. And this is my daughter, Abby."

"Nice to meet you both." Chace said shaking hands with both.

"Who's ready to eat?" Joann asked smiling.

An hour into the dinner, Chace's phone goes off four times.

"Chace, we're at dinner. Can't you leave that thing upstairs." Mike told Chace.

"Sorry. I didn't know anyone was going to call." Chace said turning down his phone.

"Who is it? A friend? Hayden?" Joann asked.

"No. Must be wrong number." Chace gives a fake smile.

After dinner. Chace is outside arguing on the phone.

"I was eating dinner with my family. What did you expect? Me to run to the phone." Chace argued.

"Yes, that's exactly what I wanted you to do. Dude, I need that money by tonight." Troy said desperate.

"It can't wait until tomorrow?"

"No. The guy who gave it to me switched his date to collect. I could lose my life, Chace."

"I can't leave and you can't show up here."

"What are we going to do?" Troy panicked.

"I'll try to find a way." Chace said as Abby was coming out on the balcony.

"Thanks, man." They hang up.

"Your mom sent me out." Abby soft smiled.

"Of course she did." Chace said silently.

"Whoever the last girl was, she must not have gotten along with the her."

"Yeah. My mom hated her. She didn't really do anything to be hated. My mom always thought I could do better."

"Oh," Abby walked over and said in one of the lawn chairs. "Same with my parents."

"Sucks, huh? Chace said walking over and sitting next to her in the chairs.

"Yeah. My ex-boyfriend had a job and his own apartment. That didn't sit well with my parents because it wasn't a condo."

"Rich parents, rich mind. How it is with mine. My mom thought Hayden made me get job because we were planning on moving in together."

"Serious, huh?"

"It was. We were together for about four years and known each other since the third grade."

"Why aren't you together, then?"

"I messed all that up."

"Right."

Chace smiled, "Do you want to go for a walk?"

"Sure. Sounds good."

On their walk.

"How is it having a brother in the army?" Chace asked.

"It was hard. We were worried about him all his tour. When he came home, he was so much different."

"He looked badass. Does he always have to wear his clothing out."

"He usually wears that army shirt and his khakis. But he's getting ready to be shipped."

"When?"

"We don't know yet. That's why we're in town. He's getting ready to be shipped from down here. This was where he was stationed."

"Wow, how do you deal?"

"We usually don't. It's something him and my dad feel strongly about."

"Really? Why does he keep going back knowing what it does to you and your mom."

"To prove something to my dad, I guess."

"What's that mean?"

"Our whole lives we've been nothing to them. They chose where we went to school, what we wore, who we hung out with. After Graduating, he went off into the army all on his own. My dad went AWOL and couldn't finish. So I think my brother keeps going back to prove he's smarter and tougher than my dad."

They walk up to this house, "I'm going to run inside. You going to be okay, here?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine." Abby said.

"Cool." Chace runs up to the door and knocks, Troy steps out.

"Dude, We have a problem." Troy muttered.

"What?"

"My dude, isn't too happy. He just called here and got everybody's name and number."

"Including mine?"

"Yeah. I wasn't going to give him yours since you don't do hard core just weed, but he beat my face in til I gave it up."

"Damn. Your face does look bad."

"I was resting it."

"He doesn't know where I live, right?"

"No. He shouldn't. I told him we don't deal by your place."

"Cool. Thanks for the heads up."

"Yep. His names Correy Barns if he talks to you."

"Okay, thanks."

"Who's that?' Troy nods towards Abby."

"some girl my moms trying to hook me up with."

"She's a cute."

"Yeah, yeah. "I'll catch you later."
