Shadowess88: Well. It's been... years. So, I was in a relationship that sucked all my time. It lasted almost 2 years. It then ended and I was not in a good place, so I focused on work. Now it's near the end of 2018, and thanks to littlekawaiifirefox and a Discord group that does YYH RPs, I am slowly finding my groove again. I'm getting back in to writing. I am finding my joy again.

Hiei: It's been over 6 years, onna.

Shadowess88: So it was late 2012 I got in to that relationship, and late 2014 that it ended. And I spent the past 4 years focusing on work... and Legend of Zelda games. I am making a 2019 New Years resolution to not stop writing. I'm going to try to post at least once a month. Be it a new story, or a chapter update to a current story. So, as I would like to remind readers, I have not watched or read Yu Yu Hakusho for a long while. I'm mostly relying on Discord friends and Wikipedia for information.

Chapter 34: Just a Day

It was apparent that Kurama was not as tech-savvy as some others. The girls informed him about a weird text that appeared and disappeared, not mentioning that it was from the Lust demon. He apologized that he couldn't figure out too much on their phones, especially since he just had a basic communicator himself. Maybe it was just in their minds that the text had appeared. Kyla and Nyssa sat down on the couch of Kurama's living room. They watched some news program while Kurama went to run an errand, and Hiei was training outside.

After a few moments of silence, it was broken by Nyssa. "I'm crossed."

"Why are you crossed?" Kyla asked, looking over at her from her comfy spot on the sofa couch. The news program had just been talking about the rate of accidents on the increase in the city, and were wanting to implement a neighborhood watch committee.

"I don't know whether to hate this place or love it."

Kyla tilted her head in confusion. "Kurama's house? Or this world?"

"A combination of both. I mean… this place is almost the image of Japan yet I have seen nothing 'traditional' apart from some clothes. I haven't even seen a ramen shop." Nyssa ranted.

Kyla sat in thought on this before replying. "Why don't we go do something Japanese then? Like a festival or get ourselves some kimonos?"

"That'd be nice. Heck, even visiting a sushi bar would be cool." Nyssa let out a sigh. "Hell, doing anything now outside this house is going to be a pain with Koenma and Botan watching us like we're under house arrest."

"Yeah, not to mention that Kurama and Hiei are going to be monitoring us even worse." Kyla grumbled. "Have you noticed that more stuff has happened to us in a shorter amount of time since we got here?"

"Ya. It's like a fanfiction or something…" Nyssa mused. "Nah, if this were a fanfiction then we'd be busty beauties with family relation to Yusuke or Kuwabara." (Shadowess: Cough, not mentioning self-inserts, huh!?)

Kyla outright laughed at that. "True that!" She grinned and when she calmed, she thought aloud. "Are we just lucky at getting so much unwanted attention or… I don't know. Why are we getting so much trouble? At home, it was shocking when something happened to either one of us."

"Ya. I know what you mean… Maybe this world just doesn't like us." Nyssa nodded in agreement. "Oh well. Don't want to be breaking the fourth wall." (Shadowess: Too late!)

After another moment of silence, with only the clock ticking away in the background, it was broken again by Nyssa.

"You know what? I'm going to do something that I hardly ever do." Nyssa looked at her friend.

"Go put on a pink outfit and buy a Barbie doll?" Kyla guessed.

"Ha ha ha. I'm going to go have a nap. Sleep off some stress." Nyssa lifted Kyla's legs off her and got up, setting the legs back down on the couch. "I'd go have a nice hot bath but I don't feel like drowning."

"You need more naps? That is weird considering how much we've been unconscious lately." Kyla watched her friend round about the couch with a smile. "So if you don't wake up in an hour, I get to come in to wake you?"

"Sure, to make sure I'm not dead or spontaneously gone undead again." Nyssa smiled. "I'd tell you to behave but I know that your nature forbids it."

"You know me too well." Kyla grinned. "Have a nice nap, Ny-chan." She watched her friend disappear up the stairs as Kurama came back in.

Kurama took a seat next to his girl, moving his arm over her shoulders, and smiling as she leaned in to the free space on his side. "How are you feeling?" He was quite concerned for her. Both Kyla and Nyssa haven't really presented any side-effects from the magic-induced dream they were in, but he knew better than to be naïve about it.

"I feel pretty good actually." Kyla smiled up at him. "Ny-chan is going be having a nap though. Don't know why she'd be tired after all the crap yesterday." She fingered the material of Kurama's shirt. "Can we go out somewhere?"

"Where would you like to go?" Kurama traced his fingers along the side of her arm.

"I'd like to go to a theme park or something." Kyla smiled. "Know anything going on?"

"I think I know a couple places." Kurama stood up and offered his hand to her. She took it and rose up, her head resting against his chest, taking in his musk. She knew she had to tell him sometime but… She wanted to wait a bit first. There were some questions she needed answers to before letting him know.

Upstairs, Nyssa was sitting in her windowsill, with her eyes closed. She was trying to clear her mind of everything that had happened in the past day to stop herself form getting ill from stress. She was just beginning to daze off when her mind's eye was assaulted with images of herself and Hiei in various sexual positions, even ones that they had just done yesterday.

Her eyes popped open with cheeks flamed with blush. "Oh come on!" she couldn't believe that he was still riding his high.

'The foxes left he house.' Hiei's voice came whispering through her mind.

What was she to do? He was almost insatiable! She so desired to have a 'how to' guide of this world to have things make sense; like how Hiei was still high. 'I'm going to block you now.' She replied back to his mind before proceeding to put up her mental brick wall, one bloody brick at a time.

Nyssa never got to finish it though.

"You need practice to build that wall faster." Hiei's voice whispered to her from the side. Before Nyssa could turn her head, she was physically removed from the windowsill and found herself on flat on her back with a red-eyed demon smirking down at her.

It wasn't an amusement park, but it was still a good change of scenery. Kurama was walking with Kyla through a planetarium. From what Kyla had seen so far, everything was… normal. The planetary systems were the same, the star charts were the same… Wait, no, they still considered Pluto a planet. Good sign. She made a comment on the similarities and differences.

"Why would they not consider Pluto a planet anymore?" Kurama asked.

"I don't know… Because its too small and they've downgraded it to a giant rock or something. Thing is, they've found other 'planets' beyond Pluto so…" Kyla gave an over-exaggerated shrug. "I don't know! I didn't really read up on it."

Kurama chuckled, putting his arm around Kyla's waist. "Remember the sky in the Demon World? It was always dark or lit up with a bizarre light?"

"Ya I remember. Looked really mystic the first night." Kyla smiled at the wistful memories.

"There is no moon. And there are no stars either." Kurama explained. "The light was from all the cities and the castles that were in each section. The glow bounces off the sky as though the Demon World was surrounded by a dome."

Kyla giggled. "You sound like a teacher."

"Well I am one, remember? I taught you quite well."

"Then I have the hugest crush on my teacher then." Kyla giggled.

Kurama laughed lightly. "You, vixen, are indeed a student getting straight 'A's." He planted a kiss atop of her head.

Kyla felt butterflies hover along her nerves as she leaned in to Kurama's side. They continued along, looking at all the science of planetoids and all the meteor rocks. After wandering through the entire museum, they departed to a small bistro to eat before returning back home.

A blush stained Nyssa's face as she sat in the living room. She was not used to someone chasing after her, let alone for sexual reasons. Hiei didn't have sex with her, but instead kissed, licked, and nibbled her flesh all above her waist. She was both happy with relief and angry about the interruption that Botan provided. She knocked on the door and Hiei disappeared out the window.

Nyssa threw on a robe to cover herself before answering the door, with her glasses on in her human form. Botan was just visiting and wanted to know where Kurama and Kyla were. She also asked why Nyssa was blushing and flushed.

"Oh, you just startled me and I fell off the windowsill." She had said, full of embarrassment.

So now, here she sat in the living room. Botan was looking through the stand of movies to play something.

"What's Hiei up to?" she asked.

"Probably in his room, cleaning his sword or something." Nyssa shrugged, not really wanting to picture what Hiei was really doing. Her blushed face was from Hiei whispering exactly what he wanted to do in her mind, particularly about 'cleaning' his 'sword'. Nyssa's mind block was not staying up because of her distracted state. That 'brick wall' was currently a pile of rubble.

"He seemed pretty peeved when he was told that the Lust demons kidnapped you and Kyla." Botan noted. "I'm glad that you girls weren't hurt, because if you were, I think both Kurama and Hiei would have gone ballistic. The last thing we need is two demons loosing control."

"Well Kyla and I are both fine. Nothing happened." Nyssa shrugged and pulled her robe tighter, wishing she had the chance to pull on a proper shirt. "Throw on a Disney movie, Botan."

"Which one? Kurama's mother has them all here."

"I don't know… what about Sleeping Beauty?" Nyssa didn't really care what Botan wanted to watch, so long as it was something to at least try to focus on.

"Oh! Yukina said she saw that one and liked it a lot." Botan grabbed the classic Disney tale and placed it in the DVD player. Botan looked at Nyssa as it started up. "Do you want popcorn or anything?"

"Just some water would be fine."

Botan leaned over, looking at Nyssa close to the face. "You know, maybe I should bring you to the Spirit World for another examination. You look feverish…" She placed her hand to the side of Nyssa's face. "You're face is quite red and warm too."

"I'm fine, Botan." Nyssa pushed her hand away.

She didn't look convinced. "Okay… but if you get worse, I'm taking you to see a doctor whether you want to or not."

Nyssa set a hard glare on Botan. "I am fine, Botan. I do not need to see any doctor. In fact, I'll go make you popcorn." She stood up and went in to the kitchen. The front door opened to reveal Kyla and Kurama walking in, smiles on their faces.

"Hey Kyla! Hey Kurama! Did you two have a nice date?" Botan waved at them as she took a seat on the couch.

"It was really nice." Kyla smiled, blushing a bit at the 'date' word. "We went to the planetarium, and then to a nice quiet bistro!"

"We had a good time, Botan." Kurama nodded in agreement with Kyla. "What brings you here?"

"Oh Koenma sent me to check up on Kyla and Nyssa to see if they have any lingering or secondary side effects from the Lust demons' spell." She explained. "Have you noticed anything off with Kyla?"

"No, I haven't noticed anything." Kurama shook his head. "Do you feel anything off, Kyla?"

Kyla shook her head in 'no'. "I feel fine. Nothing feels off or anything." She would mention the text if it happened again.

"Well Nyssa has been looking feverish ever since I got here and she keeps claiming she's fine. I told her if she starts acting off, I'd be taking her to see a Spirit World doctor." Botan explained.

"I'll go talk to her. I can usually tell if she's not feeling well." Kyla said. "Where is she now?"

"In the kitchen. She was going to make popcorn for a movie I was putting on."

Kyla gave Kurama a peck on his cheek before heading to the kitchen, where she saw her friend, dressed in her thick grey robe, putting a pack of popcorn in the microwave. She smiled and went up to her. "Hey sweetie!"

Nyssa turned and saw her friend. "Oh hey Kyla." She smiled. "When did you get back?"

"Just now. Kurama took me to the planetarium! Did you know they still consider Pluto a planet here?" Kyla leaned against the counter.

"I didn't know that. See? You learn something every day." Nyssa chuckled.

"So, what'd you do while I was gone?" Kyla asked.

"Oh tried to have a nap, but I got jumped by Hiei. How long can a demon ride a sex high? Seriously?" her face flushed again. "He won't stop sending… images to my head." She said in a hushed tone.

"Oh! So that's why you look feverish! You're embarrassed." Kyla nodded in understanding. "Well… why don't you go… desensitize yourself from blushing from this?"

Nyssa lightly hit her head against a cabinet door. "I have already tried but he keeps… going more and more detailed."

Kyla snickered. "If you keep blushing then your face will be a permanent red. You'll be passing out from too much blood to your head!"

"Oh shut up…" she grumbled, taking the popcorn out of the microwave before it began to burn.

"There must be some things you're curious about. Why not just… experiment? This is Hiei! He's always moody and grouchy. This is an improvement. Do you really want him to go back to being a rude grump? He clearly likes you to want more of you." Kyla fetched a bowl for the popcorn.

"Actually, yes. I liked that Hiei better than the current one. He was firm and had a good sense of humor in the Demon world. I could at least talk to him without getting bombarded with sexual suggestions." Nyssa put the popcorn in the bowl and discarded the bag. She picked up the bowl and started to head back to the living room.

"Okay okay, I get where you're coming from." Kyla nodded. "But, Nyssa?" her friend stopped and looked to her. "Might want to fix your robe. I can see a few 'love bites' on your collar bone." She grinned.

Nyssa's face flushed red again as she set down the bowl, pulled her robe tighter, then resumed her transporting of the popcorn. Kyla snickered to herself as she went in to the living room as well.

Around half way though the second film that Botan put on, Hiei came down the stairs from his room, looking normal with a stoic face. Nyssa was no longer blushing, so Hiei had ceased projecting suggestive images to her mind. Kyla was fidgeting part way through the movie, excusing herself to the bathroom. Botan was staring at the TV, completely caught up in the fantasy drama. Kurama was glancing from the movie to where Kyla went off to.

Kurama finally got up from his seat, ten minutes after waiting for Kyla to return and went to the bathroom door. He knocked on it gently. "Kyla? Are you alright in there?"

"Um… yup! Actually, wait…" Kyla's voice wavered a bit. "Can you come in? I need some help with something."

Kurama put his hand on the doorknob and tried turning it. It was locked. "You locked the door."

"Oh uh…" there was a brief pause and Kurama heard the lock on the door disengage. He stepped through and saw Kyla standing in only her undergarments, in her fox form, with a brush tangled in her tail. Kurama closed the door behind him and bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from laughing. "I need help… I'm tangled, and it hurts…" Her whimper banished any humor from the situation.

"Here, let me help." He knew how painful it was to get a nasty knot in the sensitive part of the fox anatomy. He gently took a hold of her tail and began to help her get de-tangled. "How did you get the brush stuck?"

"I was just using the bathroom and stretched out my ears and tail, used some water to smooth down my hair and saw a knot in my tail and tried to brush it out but…" Kyla twitched her tail. "Yeah."

In the living room, being a witness would show you see three people with funky hair watching a cartoon with a blue guy singing and dancing. In truth, only one of the three people sitting were watching the movie, and that was Botan. Hiei was merely just watching the screen, letting the images pass by without registration. Nyssa was watching the screen as well, though she knew what was occurring since she had seen the film before. She had the bowl of popcorn in her lap, mostly uneaten. Nyssa was tired and wanted to rest. With a glance over to Hiei, she noticed that he looked regularly bored.

Nyssa knew that Kyla was right, but she still missed the stubborn hybrid demon she grew used to. Maybe she could find out more about demons and their… natures. She lifted the popcorn off her lap and set it in Botan's, who happily started munching on the popcorn. "I'm gonna step outside. I'll just be in the backyard." She said, hushed to Botan, who just nodded, too engrossed in the movie. She stood and saw that Hiei's focus was shifted from the air in front of the television to her.

'Can I talk to you outside, Hiei?' Nyssa messaged him. Hiei blinked but stood up, ignoring Botan, and followed her to the back patio door, stepping out under the cloudy sky.

Kyla had re-dressed, looking down at her soft bushy tail and smiled. "Thank you for helping, Kura-kit." She beamed up at him. "This feels so much better now." She cleaned off the fur from her brush.

"I can see why you were squirming. How did you manage three knots in your tail when it wasn't even out?" Kurama leaned against the edge of the seat.

"I'm not really sure. I guess cause I'm really talented." She grinned as she proceeded to hug Kurama. Kyla looked up at his face and sighed happily.

"What's on your mind?" Kurama asked.

"Oh, I'm just glad the day is almost done and we'll be able to go to bed soon." Kyla tapped her fingers on his shoulder. "It feels like a long time since we had time alone, even though it's only been a couple days, you know?"

"I know what you mean." He took her hand and placed a kiss on her fingers. "Share my room tonight?" Kurama asked.

"Yes, please." Kyla took his hand and let him out of the bathroom and up the stairs to her room, not noticing that Botan was all by herself for watching the movie.

Nyssa sat herself against the side of the house in a spot that Kurama's flowers were not preset, and Hiei sat himself beside her. She had her robe pulled tightly around her. They sat in silence before Hiei made a disgruntled sound, snapping Nyssa back to the present.

"I want to talk about how you've been acting…" Nyssa managed to say.

"Acting?" Hiei raised an eyebrow at her.

"Ever since the aftermath of that job we did for Cahadras." Nyssa fiddled with the hem of her robe. "You've been… not yourself." When he didn't give a reply, she elaborated. "I get that you were riding a high after the battle that made you um… need release, but I'd like to know why."

Hiei did not look at her, but looked up at the clouds and crossed his arms. "How can anyone resist a blood-soaked beauty who had just killed over half an army?"

Nyssa couldn't help but blush. "You killed over half, but thank you. Do I put off some kind of pheromone to get you going?"

"Something like that." He finally looked at her. "Do you regret it?"

"N-no! I don't, it's just… I've never… Before you…" Nyssa banged her head on the side of the house, looking up at the sky. "Why is this so damn hard to talk about? I want to know why you were riding that high for so long and kept sending me images of us in erotic positions!" her cheeks flushed red.

Hiei blinked. "A demon can thrive off of a sensation for multiple hours. I admit that you had me confused for not being in a similar state, and I tried to see what would trigger you."

Nyssa looked down at the ground, pulling her knees up. "I've read my fair share of erotica and whatnot, but… that dream thing with the lust demon, Kyla and I were back home… everything here, now, feels so surreal." She took off her glasses and changed forms, her hair instantly billowing down her back. "I…" she put her hand to her head, at a spot that felt unusually warm… "I don't feel right."

He watched her for a moment, looking at her posture. "Tension." Hiei stood up and offered a hand down to her. "You need an outlet."

"Like what?" Nyssa took his hand and stood.

"Put on a shirt and get a sword."

With a smile on her face, Nyssa leaned to him and kissed him. "That's what I like to hear. You being normal." She turned and yelped at a sting from her ass. She spun back around to see a smirk on Hiei's face.

Kyla found that her phone had a few voicemail messages. She listened to them with Kurama still in the room and sighed.

"Kyla?" Kurama looked to her.

"It's exam time back home… and these two students, twins, got a hold of my number. They say the class misses me." She pouted. "I never thought I'd feel homesick."

Kurama went over to the sadden vixen and embraced her in a hug. "I'm sorry but we could request a visit, to see how things are. Do you want to visit your family too?"

"You know, I'd like that but if we deal with Koenma, he's going to try and do that stupid thing to get our memory back. It'd be nice to remember but the way he stated it, the risks are too high. I don't want to forget what I know now." Kyla stated. "Like I don't want to forget that you have a little sweet spot just behind your ears…" Kyla's tail stroked the side of his leg.

Kurama chuckled lightly and ran his fingers through Kyla's long hair. "I would have to seduce you all over again…" he kissed the top of her head between her ears.

Kyla nuzzled in to his chest and blinked. "I just remembered that I promised Ny-chan I would buy her a sword. Crap!"

"When did you promise this?" Kurama asked, not recalling.

"When we were over at Keiko and Yusuke's apartment, in the pool. She was kinda drowning at the time? I dared her to do a back flip in to the water and she did." Kyla looked up at the ceiling in thought. "It was Yukina's idea actually. I'm still not sure why, but she wanted Hiei in the water." She looked up at Kurama. "Does she like Hiei or something?"

"Well… It's complicated actually. She's really nice and does see Hiei like family, but not in that way." Kurama rubbed the back of his head.

"I wanna get to know her better. We didn't get to talk much back at the pool." Kyla admitted.

"Yukina stays with Genkai. With Nyssa and Kuwabara meeting there tomorrow to plan regarding the Shriek demon, we can visit at the same time." Kurama suggested.

"Genkai, yeah we just met her. Who is she anyways?" Kyla tilted her head.

"She was Yusuke's and Kuwabara's teacher a few years back. We usually meet up there for missions from Koenma and to gain her insight on some more difficult situations." Kurama chuckled. "She has quite the attitude for her age. She's even fought in tournaments, and can be quite formidable."

Kyla grinned. "She sounds fun."

"We'll all go tomorrow about 9 in the morning."

"Great! Now… in the mean time…" Kyla trailed her fingers up Kurama's chest, neck, to the said sweet spot behind the ears… She felt a sly smirk form on her face when she saw a flash of gold in his eyes.

"You shifty little vixen…" Kurama purred out, smirking as he dipped his head down to catch her lips in his own.

Outside, Nyssa and Hiei were locked in a sword battle. Nyssa was loosing, poorly keeping her mental guard up. She was getting distracted from Hiei's images of them engaging in spontaneous coitus while fighting. She was not aroused; she was annoyed. Nyssa was letting herself get distracted so easily and it was bothering her greatly.

Worst off, the smirk on Hiei's face had not left for a single moment.

It was irking her to the point where her emotions were starting to spiral away from her control as well. Nyssa's anger began to rise higher and higher. Her thoughts drifted from the horrible nightmares she endured to the demons she encountered here, both good and bad. Her mind then realized that she had both intentionally caused harm and killed people –not humans but even demons had social status. Things were thrown in to a horrible perspective and it burned at her eyes. The heavy weight in her mind felt magnified with a nagging sensation at the back of her head, making her feel that she was forgetting something important. It was building in her mind, cycling around and around. The ogres she slaughtered, the tentacle ooze monster, some chameleon monster, and then a vision of her encasing solid ice around Hiei. An echo of Kurama's voice came to mind, that she had to melt the ice she made on Hiei. She nearly killed Hiei.

Nyssa froze at the thought and felt her grip on her blade loosen. Hiei's sword came to her throat and they both stopped. His smirk finally left as he frowned. "I trained you better than that."

She whispered out, his ears barely catching what she said. "I nearly killed you." Nyssa's voice was broken, tears –tear gems threatening to fall from her eyes.

Hiei removed the sword from her throat. He looked at her face closely. Nyssa looked up at his red eyes, seeing the pale, white-haired reflection of herself. An image of Hiei on the ground, his body becoming encased in ice she made trapped in her mind's eye.

'You need to breathe.' Hiei spoke in to her mind, noting that she was very distressed. He saw her paling and reached his hand to grab hers.

Nyssa flinched at the touch and stumbled back over her own sword, falling to the ground. She stared at his hand that touched hers, irrationally thinking that just touching her would make that vision in her mind come true.

Hiei knelt down and waited for her to respond. "You need to breathe." He spoke out loud to her. He watched her carefully. She did eventually take a shaky breath, the tears no longer wanting to fall. "Good. Now what happened?"

"I..." Nyssa swallowed and looked down at her hand. "I never thought about it... before..." she was shaking. "I killed." Nyssa locked her eyes on Hiei's. "I killed before too. I nearly killed you."

Hiei set his sword aside and moved closer to her. "You have never nearly killed me." He reached out and took her hand. She gasped and tried to pull away but he held tight. "Tell me what was going through your mind."

Seeing that Hiei was not turning to ice from her touch, she closed her fingers around his. "All those ogres... We killed them. Some of them might have had families... Then that ooze monster with the water fountain, then some chameleon demon you helped me kill because it tried to kill me..." She let out a breath and pinched the bridge of her nose at the new headache. "Then I saw myself putting ice on you that you couldn't get out of. Kurama was trying to get me to melt it. You nearly died because of me."

Hiei didn't know what to say. He remembered that. It was something that happened three years ago while they were training. She remembered! "But you didn't." he stroked his thumb on her hand. "And that was three years ago."

Nyssa hitched a breath. She remembered? "It..was?" At Hiei's nod, Nyssa felt a weight drop from her shoulders. "I remembered... I remembered!" she pushed forward and wrapped her arms around Hiei, and he held her to him.

Perhaps they wouldn't have to deal with Koenma's memory restore experiment after-all!

It was a nice morning, a warm temperature outside with clear skies. For Botan's peace of mind, they decided to take a portal to Genkai's property. For the full 'experience', the portal was opened near the bus stop closest to the shrine. Thankfully there was no one around. The girls were in their demon forms, and the guys were dressed in their regular attire. Looking around, they seemed to be outside of the town. The buildings were far in the distance, tall trees were all along the roadway, and now they were at the base of a stairway with wood posts, indicating that it was leading to a shrine. They began the trek up the stairs.

"We're not intruding on her or anything? What if she's gone playing bingo?" Nyssa asked.

"Genkai does not play bingo." Kurama said.

"What does she do in her spare time?" Kyla asked, skipping up the steps.

"I think she plays video games." Kurama replied.

"I like her already." Nyssa smiled.

At the top of the stairs and through some trees, the shrine stood tall and broad; white and red traditional shine walls with a green roof that matched the leaves of the trees. It would be difficult to see the shrine from overhead. The group went up the little stairway, and Kurama led them to a sliding door off to the side. He knocked twice and just opened it, having visited so many times in the past.

Up inside the house, Genkai could feel that she was going to get company earlier than expected. It was Kurama and Hiei's energy signatures, along with two others, who she assumed were their lady-friends. Their energy levels weren't stabilized when she met them the other day, having just endured a kidnapping. She never looked inside the paper bag that they got back, but she did recognize that it was from a pharmacy. It wasn't any of her business. She got up from her pillow and went in to the hall. "Yukina, guests are coming." She announced.

She moved over to the regular room that they tended to gather. Yukina brought in some coasters and smiled at the woman. "Should I bring in tea or something else?"

"Not sure if the girls like tea, but you know what Hiei and Kurama like." Genkai looked up at Yukina from her new pillow seat. "Still not telling him?"

Yukina shook her head. "No. Not yet. I'd rather he approach me."

"Dropping that bomb to his girlfriend might be the right nudge, but only if she's hinted at it at all."

While Yukina was off getting refreshments, the screen frame was knocked on twice before opened, revealing Kurama and the trio with him. Genkai signaled them in. With practice, Kurama and Hiei removed their footwear and the girls followed their example.

"Recovered from the abduction?" Genkai asked as they sat down, not one for greeting pleasantries.

"For the most part." Kurama answered.

"I'll feel better when that guy's head is on a sharp stick." Kyla commented.

Genkai smirked a bit then shrugged. "Might get to do that still. Botan has been keeping me posted about the Cardinal demons. Surprised that the latest decided to target you."

"Possibly the wrong time and place." Kurama replied.

"That or karma is weird." Nyssa spoke up. "A lot of things have been happening since we got here. The worse that happens back home is busted windshields."

"Yeah, the only calm moments were in the Makai." Kyla shrugged, "Of course, not counting the abduction from the vampires there cause there was a lot of just playing around before then."

The older woman just chuckled. "When dealing with the Spirit World or any of its workers, things tend to go out of proportion. You're dealing with more than one world, after all. It used to be three times the trouble. Now, it's four."

"Joy." Nyssa rolled her eyes skyward.

Yukina arrived with a tray of tea. "Good morning." She greeted with a smile. She served the tea as Kurama and the girls returned the greeting, as Hiei just nodded.

"How are you doing, Yukina?" Nyssa asked. "You and Keiko were kidnapped too."

"I'm fine. The Cardinal demons didn't do anything apart from abduct Keiko and I." Yukina replied. "We were just bait."

"Either way, that's not cool." Kyla commented. "We're glad you're fine, but when we get these demons, do you want us to do anything to them? Kick them in the shins or something?"

Yukina giggled. "Sure. Can I get you something to drink?"

The girls just requested water, and upon her return, Yukina sat with them.

They got to chatting about some differences between their worlds, staring with the planets that Kyla had noticed. Vehicles, world leaderships, even some geography was different to a degree. Their time together passed with ease before voices outside drew their attention.

"Hm. Boys are here." Genkai commented, sipping from her cup.

"I'm telling you the best ramen is Ichiran!" Yusuke opened the screen without knocking and kicked his shoes off outside the door.

"No way, the best is Ippudo ramen." Kuwabara replied, getting his shoes off as well.

"You're both wrong." Genkai leveled a look at them. "The best is Tomita."

"I'm confused. What are those?" Kyla asked.

"They're restaurant chains, apart from Tomita which is a stand alone shop." Kurama asked.

"Hello Yusuke. Hello Kazuma." Yukina greeted. Nyssa was the only one to see Hiei twitch.

"Hey everyone." Yusuke plopped down at the table nearby Genkai.

"Good morning, Yukina. Hello Master Genkai. Hey everyone." Kuwabara bowed his respect towards Genkai before sitting next to Yukina.

"So Botan dropped us off here, said she was going to go get a few details for you to hash out a plan, like details on the building and the demon itself." Yusuke propped his elbows up on the table.

"Wonderful. With luck, she'll have some blueprints or even a laptop with everything." Nyssa replied.

"She usually doesn't bring much except for basic files on the demon itself and some background information." Kuwabara informed her. "So how do you think we should approach this demon?"

"Well, depending on the information Botan brings us, we can do it one of three ways." Nyssa held up her fingers to count them. "The first is infiltration by deception; we go in on the pretense of wanting to advertise or something. The second is sneaking in without anyone noticing at all."

"And the third would be kicking ass as we go in?" Kuwabara guessed with a smirk.

"Yep. And it can also be the back-up plan if we go with one of the first two options."

Hiei scoffed. "Subtlety is not either one of their strong suits." He motioned to both Yusuke and Kuwabara.

Nyssa raised an eyebrow at Hiei before looking at Kurama for confirmation.

"Usually for missions in the Demon world, discretion is not needed. For other missions in the Human world..." Kurama rubbed the back of his head.

"Hey! I went to their world and no one raised an eyebrow at me!" Yusuke pointed at Kyla and Nyssa. "I was fine there!"

"Which is actually surprising cause usually there are little old ladies who will call the police when they think some punk guy looks just the tiny bit suspicious." Kyla shrugged.

Nyssa sipped on her water. "I think we'll be fine. We'll just wait on Botan to get our details. If we do go the deception route, I have a few ideas already."

Kuwabara shot a smile at her. "Sounds good. I'm not the best at coming up with plans, but I'll do my best to follow them."

Shadowess88: So this was a shorter chapter just to get the juices going. I'd like to recommend an author called ANGSWIN for amazing stories they write. As always, reviews are love, but never forced.
