Ok, here is another chapter. Yes they are being written slower than usual. But I think I can't write more than one story at a time. So I should stick with one, but since my other one is almost finished, I might be able to solely concentrate on this one, but I am planning to do a sequel so we'll see. And I am also thinking of doing a sequel to this story. OMG I am going to be extremely busy if I want to write two sequels. Who knows what will churn out of my brain next. LOL. Ok, Please leave me a nice review, follow and favorite. Thanks a bunch. And I will see you next time.
The next day, Elizabeth got everything ready for Klaine to visit Jillian while she went on her date. To say she was nervous was an understatement. She was freaking out. It took her twice as long to get herself and Klaine ready because she kept checking and double checking she had everything in the diaper bag.
Once she was sure she had everything that Klaine would need, she placed him in the carrier and went down to the living room.
"Hey Elizabeth." said Blaine. "Are you excited about meeting Daniel?"
Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah." she said softly.
"Are you ok?" Blaine asked, concerned.
"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine." she lied.
"Really? Because you look like you're going to throw up." Lily exclaimed.
"I'm fine." Elizabeth repeated and sighed. "Actually, I'm incredibly nervous."
Kurt walked up to her. "Why are you nervous?"
"I mean I'm nervous because this is the first guy I have gone out with since Matt and this will be the first time I'm leaving Klaine with Jillian."
Kurt wrapped her in a hug. "It'll be ok. If you need anything you can call us or Finn and Rachel."
"I bet aunt Santana would come to your rescue." Lily chimed in and Elizabeth laughed.
"I'm sure everything will be fine." Kurt reassured her. "Do you want us to drive you to Jillian's before we go?"
"Uh...I was just going to take the bus since I have to take it to get to the diner anyway." she admitted.
"Come on. We'll take you." Blaine insisted. "Just don't get into the car with this boy."
"Don't worry. I won't. If I need to, I'll call Carly and Josh and ask them to come get me."
Kurt and Blaine nodded. "Ok, then let's go." said Kurt.
They all piled into the car and drove to Jillian's house first to drop of Klaine. Elizabeth got out of the car and carried him to the door. She rang the bell and waited for Jillian to answer. A few seconds later, the door swung upon.
"Hi Elizabeth!" Jillian squealed.
"Hi Jillian." said Elizabeth with a slight smile.
"Well come on in." suggested Jillian.
Elizabeth looked towards the car and hesitated for a minute. "Ok, but just for a minute. My dads are waiting for me."
Jillian nodded and led Elizabeth inside.
"So how have you been?" Jillian asked.
"Good. School's going good. It's hard not being around Klaine all the time though." Elizabeth started.
"I'm sure." said Jillian sympathetically.
"Well, I have everything in the diaper bag that you need. I shouldn't be that long. There's diapers, wipes, clothes, and burp cloths in here."
Jillian smiled. "I'm sure he'll be fine."
Elizabeth nodded. "If you need anything or anything happens, you have my number."
"Don't worry. He'll be fine." Jillian reassured her.
"Yeah. You're right." Elizabeth breathed out. "Ok, I better get going. I'll be back soon." she leaned down to the carrier and kissed Klaine softly on top of his head.
Jillian followed Elizabeth to the door. "Have a good time. And don't worry about anything. He'll be fine."
Elizabeth smiled her thanks and went out the door. She got back in the car and Blaine drove her to the diner.
He pulled into the parking lot and Elizabeth got out of the car.
"Have fun. We'll see you later." said Blaine.
"Don't forget, if you need anything you can give us a call or Finn and Rachel." Kurt reminded her.
"Thanks. I'll see you guys later." she replied and waved to them as she went into the diner.
When Elizabeth walked in, she realized that she didn't know what Daniel looked like. How would she recognize him? She went up to the hostess stand.
"Excuse me, I'm supposed to be meeting someone here, but I'm not sure what he looks like." Elizabeth confessed.
"Oh, a guy about your age just came in a few minutes ago." the hostess confessed.
"He did?" Liz asked.
The hostess nodded. "Yeah, he's right back there." she said, pointing towards the back.
"Thank you." Elizabeth replied, and she made her way back to the booth.
"Excuse me." she said softly.
The boy looked up at the soft voice. "Yes?" he asked.
"Um...Are you Daniel?" Elizabeth asked.
He nodded. "Yes. Are you Elizabeth?"
She nodded. "Yes." she smiled. "It's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. Please sit down." he said, getting up to pull the chair out for her.
"Thank you." she replied, as Daniel sat back down across from her.
"So, how are you?"
"I'm good. How are you?"
"Good." Daniel nodded.
They sat in silence for a few awkward moments.
"Is everything ok?" Daniel asked.
"Yeah. It's just that I haven't been on a date in a very long time." Elizabeth confessed.
"Oh?" Daniel's ears perked up when he heard that. "Do you mind if I ask why?"
Elizabeth shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I guess that what happens when you go to an all girls school."
Before Daniel could say anything else, the waitress came over.
"Hi I'm Jamie, and I'll be your waitress." she introduced herself.
Daniel and Elizabeth smiled at her. "Have you decided on what you'd like or do you need a few more minutes?"
"Uh...Do you know what you want?" Daniel asked.
Elizabeth looked down at her menu. "I think I'm just going to have a chicken salad, dressing on the side."
Jamie wrote down her order and turned her head towards Daniel. "And for you?"
"I'll have the chicken sandwich." Daniel stated.
Jamie wrote his order down, took their menus and walked away.
Daniel looked at Elizabeth, unsure of what to say next.
"So, do you have any brothers or sisters?" he asked.
"Yeah, I have a little sister, Lily. She just turned 11." Elizabeth admitted. "What about you? Do you have any siblings?"
Daniel shook his head. "No. I'm an only child. Actually, it's just me and my dad."
"Oh." she said sadly.
"Yeah. My mom passed away when I was three." Daniel confessed.
"Oh. I'm so sorry." Elizabeth admitted sadly.
Daniel shook his head. "It's ok. I don't really remember her that well. So I guess it's ok."
Elizabeth smiled slightly.
Pretty soon the waitress had come back with their food. They continued their conversation throughout their meal.
"You said you used to go to the same high school but you transferred. What happened?" Daniel asked.
Elizabeth took in a deep breath. "I just had some problems while I was there. That's all."
Daniel nodded, understanding. "Do you know if they fixed the problems?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. But even if they did, I can't go back there."
"I understand." Daniel admitted.
Before Elizabeth could say something, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and pulled it out.
"I'm sorry. It must be my-" she started, but before she could finish, she read the text message on her phone.
Elizabeth,
I think Klaine is getting sick. No need to worry. He'll be fine.-Jillian
Elizabeth's heart sunk. She quickly gathered her things and got up.
"Where are you going?" Daniel asked, clearly surprised.
"I'm sorry Daniel. I really enjoyed this, but I have to get going." Elizabeth replied quickly.
"Wait. Why do you have to go?" he asked, while Elizabeth was walking towards the front of the diner.
She turned around and mouthed a sorry to him. She then disappeared out of the door.
Daniel sunk into his seat. What happened? He thought. Did I do something wrong? Was it something I said? Daniel didn't know. But he knew he had to do something. He quickly got out his phone and called Carly.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Hey Carly, it's Daniel. Can you do me a favor?" he asked.
"Sure. What's going on?" she asked, curiously.
"Can you text me Elizabeth's address please?"
"Her address? Why?"
"I was just having lunch with her and she got a text. The next thing I know she's leaving. I don't know if it's something I did or something I said, but I was having a good time. I thought she was too." Daniel admitted.
"Look Daniel, there's a lot you don't know about Elizabeth, and I think she wants to keep it that way." Carly insisted.
"Please Carly. I need to know what's going on. Girls don't usually leave all of the sudden after they get a text."
"Unless it was an emergency." Carly replied.
Daniel sighed. "I know. But please Carly. I'm not going to stalk her or anything if that's what you're thinking."
Carly shook her head. "No I know that, but I don't think I should without her permission."
"Fine. Then I will call Josh and I'm sure he'll give me her address." Daniel threatened.
Carly sighed. "Fine. I'll give it to you. But don't tell Elizabeth I gave it to you or we're both in trouble."
Daniel laughed. "Ok. But she might."
"Tell her you got off Facebook or something." Carly suggested.
"Ok. Now can I please have her address now?" Daniel begged.
"Yeah sure." replied Carly. She gave Daniel the address and then they hung up.
Daniel quickly paid for their meal and left the diner.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth got off of the bus and walked over to Jillian's house. She got to the front door and rang the doorbell. She could hear crying coming from behind the door and became instantly worried.
The door opened.
"Elizabeth? What are you doing here?" Jillian asked, confused.
"I got your text and I got here as fast as I could." Elizabeth explained as she pushed her way inside.
She went into the living room and saw Klaine. His face was red from crying. She picked him up and started to rock him. "When did her start getting sick?" Elizabeth asked.
"I think he just has a small fever." Jillian admitted.
Elizabeth felt his forehead and he did feel a little warm. "I better get him home."
"Did your dads drive you or do you need a ride home?" Jillian asked.
Elizabeth placed Klaine back in his carrier and buckled him up. She picked the carrier up and swung the diaper bag over her shoulder. "I actually took the bus. My dads took my sister to city today."
"Well then let me give you a ride." Jillian insisted.
Elizabeth shook her head. "No, it's ok."
"I insist." Jillian stated.
Before Elizabeth could protest, Jillian was pushing her out to her car.
The whole car ride back to Elizabeth's house was silent. Neither one of them knew what to say. Their relationship had grown and they were happy, but it still felt awkward.
Jillian pulled into the driveway and turned the engine off. She turned towards Elizabeth. Before she could say anything Elizabeth opened her mouth to say something.
"I'm sorry." she blurted out.
"Why are you sorry?" Jillian asked.
"Because I rushed home when you told me I didn't need to. I know all you want to do is spend time with your grandson, but I got worried." Elizabeth stated and started to cry.
"Oh honey. It's ok. You have no need to be sorry. You're a new mother. It's natural to feel worried." Jillian admitted.
Elizabeth nodded.
"Will you do me one favor though?" Jillian asked.
Elizabeth nodded again. "Yeah. What is it?"
"Will you bring Klaine by again so I can spend some more time with him?" she asked.
Elizabeth smiled and laughed. "Sure. Maybe I could bring him by once a week or something."
"I'd like that." replied Jillian.
Elizabeth leaned in and gave Jillian a hug.
"Thank you." Elizabeth whispered and let go. She got out of the car and took Klaine out of the backseat. She walked up to the front door and went inside.
Once Jillian saw that Elizabeth was safely inside, she drove off. She was happy that she and Elizabeth were getting along better and that she would be able to see her grandson more.
