"You can hold my hand, if you want."

Loki was glad the offer was a genuine one, rather than more teasing. Grasping Darcy's hand with his, he took a deep breath, calming himself.

"It can't be that bad, right?" Loki asked, talking to himself mostly, but knew she heard when her grip tightened reassuringly. "Mortals do this all the time and come out alive. So what if it doesn't look completely structurally sound, or that the constant creaking indicates weakness somewhere, or how it looks worn from years of use, and really all that screaming does not help a thing-"

"Loki, you'll be fine," Darcy told him firmly, pressing a soft kiss to the back of his hand.

"I know that," Loki sighed in exasperation. "I am practically immortal. If I can survive a hit from Thor's hammer, I can survive this easily."

Darcy jerked a bit in surprise, eyebrows raised. "Wait, then why are you freaking out so much?"

Loki looked at incredulously, then asked condescendingly, "Did you suddenly become immortal overnight? Did Idunn gift you with one of her apples completely out of the blue? Ignoring that it's not even harvest season, Idunn has never given an apple to anyone not of Asgardian heritage (other than me, of course), let alone a midgardian she's never met-why are you looking at me like that?"

Loki had no time to react before she pulled him into a deep kiss, and neither noticed when the ride started. When they pulled apart, it took a moment for him to notice that the cart had pulled to a stop just before the first steep drop.

"I've done this plenty of times," Darcy assured him. "I'll be fine. It's just a roller coaster."

Loki gripped her hand tighter, eyeing the ground warily. Well, if worst comes to worst, he could always teleport them out. The other people too, he thought as he looked in the carts behind them, if there's time.

But Darcy would always remain his first priority.

AN: Loki's Adventures with Mortal Technology chapter 2. Just kidding. But seriously, the thought of Loki freaking out about a roller coaster just seems hilarious to me.
