Alex's Dream (Super Smash Bros Crossover)

Alex snorts a little and jerks his head up. He glances around and yawns. Right now, he sits on a large, grand staircase; his head was leaning on the banister. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes, wondering how he even fell asleep sitting up. He grips the rail and stands.

Alex comes to the conclusion that he is either asleep or was kidnapped, but who would leave him against the railing? The large room he is in also suggests entrance to some kind of mansion. The teenager is at a loss on what is going on. He doesn't know anybody rich that would want to kidnap him. Dream it is.

"Hey!" a voice shouts from above. Alex quickly turns to face the top of the staircase. A scowling blonde teenager looks down on him. The female shouts, "How did you get in here?"

Alex's bright answer, "Uh…"

She scoffs and points to the door at ground level behind him. Alex turns to the door and then back to her as she talks, "Get out. I don't know how you got in, but don't stay. Everyone's been gone since the tournament ended a couple weeks back."

"I-" Alex chokes a little and shrinks under her glare. "I don't know how I got here."

She scrutinizes from above. Her expression shifts from annoyance to confusion as she continues to stare, "How did you even get in here?"

"I already-"

"Never mind." She shakes her head and goes back to scowling. "I'm supposed to have a friend here for lunch, so go on and come-to somewhere else."

Alex blinks in shock as she walks away. He quickly jogs after her, staying out of arm's length as they go through wide hallways. She gives him a hard look before sighing and continuing down a maze of corridors. When an amazing smell hits his nose, Alex asks, "What is that?"

"Lunch." She doesn't elaborate.

Alex doesn't spend too much time worrying as the blonde leads him to an enormous kitchen. He quickly sits in one of the bar stools around the center table while she goes to stir something on the stove. He puts his head in his hands and states, "Dream."

The blonde turns to glance at him, but turns back to the pot, "What makes you say that?"

"This can't be real," Alex explains, watching her move naturally around the room. "People don't just fall asleep in one place and wake up in another."

The blonde finishes adding small grains of something before turning to the center table. She follows Alex's example, putting her head on her hands. He notices she has blue eyes. He wonders if his brain finally fried, if he is now dreaming about a blonde, blue eyed person instead of Pokémon.

"Do you have any goals?" the blue eyed lady asks.

Alex nods, "Yah, tons."

She hums and flickers her eyes to his wrist. Alex slowly looks left and sees the red watch. She seems to be staring moodily at the watch, which the redhead finds weird enough. The next thing she says is ever stranger. "I can't believe I didn't modify that one enough."

"What?" Alex asks, thoroughly confused. He unconsciously covers the watch. His blue eyes scan around here, but don't see anything like his watch.

"You're from X and Y." She doesn't say it like a question, but Alex still nods. "Yet you have goals outside of it, so it's not finished. I didn't modify it properly, so you can probably visit anyone you'd like."

"What are you talking about?" Alex finally asks, itching to get out of his seat. Dream or no, he doesn't like feeling left out of the loop. "Finished? Modified?"

"Doesn't matter for you," the lady says. "Truthfully, I don't care. I just don't like unexpected house guests. I'm sure I modified the counterpart correctly."

"My sister's?" Alex asks. "She has one too."

"Another sibling pair?" The blonde snorts. "Man, those Pokémon games…"

"How did you know about X and Y?" Alex asks, his mind struggling to focus on her words.

"You sure don't look Unova," she says, giving him a once over. "Not as downtrodden as them. Also, you have a 3DS. I haven't done many 3DS games. The tournaments really take up a lot of my time."

"Can you spell that out for me…?" Alex squints his eyes as everything gets hazy. "Hey, you never said a name."

"No," she shrugs, "I guess not. We don't need each other's names; we'll probably never see each other again. I think you're waking up regardless."

"Mum said it's polite to say names when we meet someone," Alex starts slurring.

"Didn't you learn it's rude to ask a lady her name?"

"Dream."

The lady puts a finger on her cheek. Just as Alex finally gives into closing his eyes, he hears her say, "Fine. I'm Agnes. Now wake up."

Alex does just that; a plate of streaming soup being dropped beside him.

A/N: Hey everyone! Well, this was a moderately vague chapter. The next short probably won't answer any questions, either. Sorry about that.

Thank you Hero LumiEre Lumanite for your review. I know what you mean. A Gym badge is not worth a broken arm. Thanks again for the review and I hope you enjoyed.
