Chapter 36: Connections Grow
Ginny took the hand and saw Regulus Black. She smiled at him and accepted his hands. They stood there in silence but then Regulus asked,
"How have you been?"
"I've been all right. How about you?" Ginny asked concerned.
You could tell that he had a lot of mind. He didn't answer her question right away. Regulus knew that he could trust Ginny. But he is afraid to admit it. He sighed and said,
"I don't know anymore, right now I feel confused and conflicted. But I know that I can trust you with anything. I want your help Ginny. Please help me?"
Ginny nodded and said,
"Reg, I will help you. But it will be hard and you may have to do things that you don't want to. I am here for the long run and help the future generation to have a brighter future."
"I will do anything to do that. I love that you have the same dream and hope. Ginny do you think you would allow me to take you to the next Hogsmeade trip?" Regulus asked nervously.
Ginny smile grew and she just nodded. She was speechless about it all. She did know that Regulus had feelings for her. He just admitted that he trusted her and wanted to help her with their future. Regulus smiled and hugged Ginny. He spun her around and she started to laugh. There was someone clapping. They turned to Sirius standing there clapping.
"Well, finally you two are together. So Reg, do you think we can start over?" Sirius asked stretching his hand out.
"Yeah Sirius, let's start over. I miss my big brother." Regulus admitted.
"Same here. How you been little bro?" Sirius said pulling his brother into a brotherly hug.
Ginny smiled at them and was glad that they reconnected. Right then they saw someone with brown bushy hair. Sirius looked over to Ginny and she nodded.
Sirius ran down the hall after Hermione. There she was in the library crying. Sirius wrapped his arms around her. She just continued to cry in Sirius' shoulder. They sat in silence until she calmed down. They there was footsteps coming up from behind them. Sirius looked up and saw Ginny and Regulus standing there.
"Hermione what's wrong?" Ginny asked.
Hermione looked up and was surprised to Regulus standing there but then she saw that Ginny and Regulus was holding hands. She gave them a weak smile and said,
"Oh Ginny. You have started it. This is fantastic."
Ginny looked down and smiled to Hermione but she could tell that Hermione was trying to change the subject. Ginny sat down next to Hermione and said,
"Don't change the subject. What happened with Madam Pomfrey?"
Hermione sighed and then said,
"We are going to be trying this one potion but it is highly risky. It is up to me but Madam Pomfrey hopes I say no to it."
"But this is less threating and risky then other options right?" Sirius asked concerned.
Hermione just shook her head. She sighed and said,
"There is nothing that has less risk that Madam Pomfrey would prefer but we have to start somewhere. We are thinking potions because there will not be a lot of side effects or any of that could damage me permanently. I just don't know what I am going to do."
Regulus sighed and looked at Hermione with a sad face. He could see that she was tired of this and everything that has happened since the incident. Sirius could tell that there was something wrong with Regulus as they were talking about Hermione and her memories. He looked up to his brother and raised an eye brow.
"Reg, what's wrong? You looked like this is uncomfortable for you to listen to." Sirius asked.
Regulus looked between everyone but then his eyes landed on Hermione. He could not look at her for long. It just gave him pain and guilt on what he knows and it could affect his relationship with Ginny if he said something. But he knew if he was going to try to help the future, he had to say something for Hermione's sake at least.
"There is something I need to tell you Hermione, but I am afraid to admit it and ruin the start of something new with all of you." Regulus admitted.
"Whatever it is, we promise that we will not look at you any different. You are trying to change for the better. There will be thing you know that will hurt people because of what happened in the past. We would never judge you by your past." Hermione spoke up.
Regulus smiled to Hermione and now he could see why Sirius was falling for this girl. She was perfect for him. She did not judge anyone for who they are or what happened in their past. She judges you on what she thought of you. He knew he could trust Hermione and that she would not be upset about him. He took a deep breath and said,
"Hermione, you need to know is that…..
