AN: So it's now the big reveal of Ruby's sexuality to her father. Lots of emotions coming into play, and plenty of reading to enjoy. On a side note, moving this to one chapter a week may be the best idea I ever had, since now I can put more content into each chapter. As another side note, go check out my story Of Roses and Dragons, which is currently on chapter 7. It's a good read and has a very carefully structured plot, which can go for quite a while.

Second side note, I'm working on creating another story. It's a RWBY AU that is basically like GTA Online, with everyone working in a crew. (There will be White Rose in there, just not exactly right away, and maybe bumblebee though I never wrote for that before. [Also would mostly focus on Ruby and Weiss the most, but there will be lots of Blake and Yang.]) So that will come out hopefully soon I guess.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and a very huge thanks to you guys for helping get this story up to over 150 followers, and almost 110 favorites. I couldn't have done this without all of your support, whether it just be reading a chapter or suggesting some way for me to improve the story. I will update the first few chapters so that they are more up to date on the writing style, but for now, I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Ruby prepared herself for the challenge that lay ahead of her during the break. She was fully aware that she was treading on thin ice, yet not everyone knew that though. It was hard for her to talk about this with her father because of her step-mother. As she walked into the house, she knew that things were only going to get harder from here, and there was no going back. "Dad, we're home!" Ruby called out once she got into the house.

As Weiss walked in, she took a moment to observe the house she just entered. To her left up against the wall was a wood stove heater, and further back in the room stood a Pool Table. As Weiss walked further in, she saw a little lounge area to her right, with couches a TV and gaming consoles, and in the back right corner of the room stood a bar. Before Weiss walked any further, Ruby's father came down and greeted them. Ruby and Yang ran over and wrapped the man in a huge hug, glad to see him again. Ruby then pulled her dad over to meet Weiss. "Hey dad, this is my partner Weiss. Weiss, my dad."

Weiss gave a courtesy bow and held her hand out to him. The man smiled as he shook the white haired girls hand quickly. "A pleasure to meet you Weiss. Ruby told me a lot about you."

Weiss was interested in that. "Oh really now? I hope that she described me in a good light. I would hate it if your opinion of me was dulled before we had even met."

The man laughed. "From what Ruby tells me, I'm glad that she has you to work with." Weiss smiled as Ruby grabbed her hand and started to pull her away.

"Come on I'm bringing your stuff up to my room." Ruby shouted as they walked out the room and up the flight of stairs leading to the second floor. Along the way, Weiss noticed that someone was in the kitchen. She figured that it was the person whom Ruby and Yang did not get along with, so Weiss put it out of her mind at the moment. As they walked in, Weiss noticed the size of the room, which was much larger than she originally anticipated it being. "So, this is my room. Kinda small compared to Beacon, but for just me, and you for the next week, it's big enough."

Looking around, she saw the room of someone who wasn't a Huntress to be. Instead she saw the room of Ruby Rose, as if she was a normal person. Posters of bands or tv shows she watched hung along the walls, a stereo system sat above her desk, and her room was colored a very vibrant shade of Red and Black. It was a nice change to see what Ruby's life was like outside of Beacon. "I'm sure things will be great, and I'm really glad to be here with you. I know what happened was months ago, but you know me. I'm still being hard on myself over that, and I probably will be forever. So I really wanted to spend this time with you."

Ruby walked over to the door, looked out of the room to see if anyone was looking, then shut it so that it was almost closed. Once that was done, she leapt towards Weiss and tackled her in a kissing frenzy. After a few seconds she pulled away. "I realize that you're going to be stubborn, and I'll keep telling you the same thing, I'm not mad and I've already forgiven you."

"Hey Ruby, Dad wants you to...not even in for five minutes and you're already jumpin' into that huh."

Ruby shot up at the sound of someone at the door to her room. Looking up she was relieved when it was only Yang that stood there. "God, Yang, don't scare me like that. I was worried that you were dad. I didn't want him finding out that way." Ruby walked over to Yang and pouted.

"Relax Ruby, Dad's talking to Uncle Qrow about dinner. It'll be ready in about 15 minutes by the way. Also, dad want's you to at least say hello to Vanessa at some point tonight, even if it's just at dinner, because he knows you are gonna just hide in your room most of the break, or be hanging with Weiss. Though I wouldn't blame you for doing either of those." Yang said before she turned around and walked down the hallway and back downstairs.

Ruby and Weiss looked at each other before they stood up and walked out of the room. As Ruby went to show around the house, showing Weiss what there was to offer there, her dad called them up for dinner. Once the two of them walked up, Ruby was glad to have a nice home cooked meal. Before Ruby could get into the food, someone stopped her. "God you figure that Beacon would teach you how to not be a barbarian." Ruby knew who it was immediately, and Weiss heard a very subtle groan coming from her girlfriend. Weiss saw the person who made the comment come into the room, and she immediately assumed that it was Ruby's step mother.

"And I figured that dad would have taught you how to be a good person." Yang said, defending Ruby from those kind of comments. Yang shrugged. "Oh well, I guess once a bi-"

"Yang, I raised you better than that. Now come on, it's our first day back together as a family, and with a guest of course. Let's enjoy the meal together." Ruby's father was definitely going to have a hard time playing peacemaker, especially with Weiss around. "So Ruby, Yang, how have classes been going?"

Ruby took a sip of water before she spoke, grabbing a piece of chicken and putting it on her plate. "Classes are going really well, and I've definitely been improving my grades. Though it does help that I have some really great people to help me out when I need it." Honest and true. Ruby had been struggling a bit in the year and a half that they had been at Beacon, but Weiss was always willing to help her out when she needed it.

"Yeah same here, both Weiss and Blake have been helping us whenever we need it." Yang said as well.

"That's great to here. I'm happy to see that my daughters are working with such wonderful people."

Weiss smiled, it was nice to know that Ruby's father was at least so far thinking highly of her, though she was aware that things could end up changing in the coming few days. Ruby's step mother though, seemed to have something that she wanted to say to Weiss. "You know I was wondering Ruby, if you're working with Miss Schnee here, then I'm surprised that you haven't decided to get something from her since she is so well off." And there went Ruby's mood again. Yang was right, she does treat them like crap. "Then again, seeing as how daddy left her, I'm not sure that she would have even wanted to give anything to anyone."

Everyone knew that she went too far with that comment. "Jesus Vanessa, that was really uncalled for." Ruby's father said.

"Yeah what the hell makes you think that you can say that about Weiss?" Yang said, with Weiss noticing her eyes starting to grow a red tint to them.

Weiss held her hand up to Yang before she went any further. "I can handle this Yang." She turned her attention to Vanessa with clear confidence. "Ruby knows that if she were to ever ask for something from me that she could get it. But I know her well enough to know that anything that I could give her, she already has, so she doesn't need to be bothered with such things." Weiss chuckled a little bit. "From the way it sounds, I think that you're more or less jealous of the fact that she is my friend, and that you won't be able to delve into the any of the perks that come with that." 'Yeah take that bitch.'

Once Weiss finished, Yang almost spit out the drink that she had been taking a sip of, and she started to laugh uncontrollably along with Ruby. The two of them were really happy to see their step mother be put in her place. Vanessa however, didn't seem too pleased by Weiss' comments. "Wow, I guess that the news reports that I've been hearing are right. I guess you really are a turncoat scum after all."

Upon hearing this, Ruby wasn't going to let that woman get away with that. "Why do you have to be like that? Why is it that when it comes to me and Yang, or the people we're friends with, or the people we care about and love, that you always have to try and drive them away?" Everyone stopped eating and just watched the events unfold before her. "I'm honestly sick of you, and the way you treat me and Yang. Now you're going to start treating Weiss the same way? Normally I could deal with the way you do that to me, but I won't stand for you doing that to her." Ruby was unleashing a rarely seen side of her, one that was mad at someone. Yang had seen this side of her recently and she never wanted to see that side again.

"Ruby, please, can we just enjoy our dinner in peace? Vanessa, Weiss is our guest, so you can behave as well." Ruby's father was really going to have a hard time playing peacemaker now.

"Dad, she's more than just a guest." Ruby said. Yang and Qrow stopped eating and knew almost exactly what was going to happen.

Weiss turned to Ruby, looking seriously at her, hoping that she knew what she was doing. Ruby just turned to her and smiled. It was enough for Weiss to realize that things were going to happen that way.'I hope you know what you're doing Ruby.'

Ruby turned to her father, looking at him square in the eye, and told him the truth. "Dad, me and Weiss are dating each other."

Silence hung in the air for quite a while, no one wanting to be the first to say anything. Ruby's father was obviously shocked by the recent turn of events. He was clearly trying to think of what to say, but somehow it couldn't come to him. Unfortunately for everyone there, Vanessa was the first one to speak. "You're joking right?"

Everyone turned their eyes to her, with Ruby Yang Weiss and Qrow showing hostility in it. "You really have the audacity to bring a freak into my house Ruby, and be a freak yourself at that measure. How do you think that will make me and your father look now?" No one could believe what she was saying.

Ruby couldn't even comprehend what she just heard. What was worse, was that she didn't know why her dad wasn't defending her. "Dad, you seriously going to let her say that about me?"

"Ruby please just calm down." He honestly still didn't know what to think of the whole thing.

"Dad, I'm your own daughter."

"Ruby please." It was enough to silence Ruby. Ruby's face turned sour, she felt like her family was betraying her. She ran off to her room to pack her things, she wanted to leave that place. After a moment, Weiss stood up and started to walk over to her. She only stopped right before she went out of sight, turning towards Ruby's father.

"As someone who has walked out on their family, when you stop caring about Ruby, or what's important to her, is when you start to push her away. If you don't want to lose Ruby, then you need to make things right with her, or she is going to be gone."

Weiss walked off, straight to Ruby's room to comfort her girlfriend. When she got into the room, she saw Ruby laying down on her bed, crying into her pillow. Weiss walked over to her and rubbed her back. She was about to say something when she heard some kind of commotion going on out in the other room. At first she put it out of her mind, not really paying attention, but eventually it drew her attention, and Ruby's because of how intense it got. They peered over to the edge of the door trying to hear what was going on.

"You can't be serious about this." They heard Vanessa say.

"I'm dead serious about this. And to be quite honest, I should have done this a long time ago." Ruby's dad said back to her.

"A divorce Daniel? Why are you doing this?!" When they heard that, Ruby and Weiss both looked at each other shocked at the development.

"Because I finally realized what's really important Vanessa. I have two daughters who have been going through hell having you around. And now, I don't want to lose someone who is very important to me. So that's why it's happening, and I honestly should have done this sooner. Now get out of my house."

Anything after that, Ruby and Weiss didn't hear. Ruby was just glad to hear that her dad still loved her. They waited a few moments before the two of them heard a knock on the door. "Ruby can I come in?"

Weiss looked to Ruby, who wanted to have a moment with her dad alone. Ruby walked over and opened the door, letting her father in. Then she looked to Weiss, who simply nodded. 'You have a chance to fix things Ruby, don't lose that chance.' Weiss gave Ruby a kiss on the forehead, before she walked out of the room to give them the chance to talk things out.

Once Weiss had left, Ruby's father sat down on the bed with her. "Ruby I'm sorry about this whole thing."

Ruby nodded, she still didn't know what her father thought of her and Weiss being together. "I know dad, and I'm glad that you finally put me and Yang above Vanessa."

Ruby's father sighed, he knew that he should've done that sooner. "Yeah, I realize that it was a long time coming. Anyway, about you and Weiss." Ruby was about to say something, but she didn't get the chance to, since Ruby's father pulled her into a tight hug. "I think it's great that you found someone who clearly loves you so much." Ruby felt herself smile, her dad didn't care about the fact that she was a lesbian, and he was just happy that she found someone to love. "I'm sorry for not being a good father to you recently."

"It's ok dad. I'm just glad that you approve of Weiss. If you didn't then we'd have a problem." Ruby stated, still hugging her father.

"Of course honey. Now, can we actually eat dinner?" He asked, finally letting go of the hug.

"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the food's cold and no good." Ruby stated, as she and her father walked out of the room.

Weiss was sitting at the table, waiting for Ruby to come out, when she saw that Ruby and her father had come out and they were smiling and laughing with each other, she felt her heart elevate. 'I'm glad she was able to fix her family issues. I wonder how my own family has been doing without me.' Weiss kept her thoughts to herself as she listened in on Ruby's conversation.

"Eh well, we can always pick up a pizza or two. I'll talk to your Uncle Qrow about going out and picking something up for us." Ruby's father rustled his daughters hair before he walked down to talk to Qrow, leaving Ruby and Weiss alone.

Weiss walked over to Ruby and pulled her into a hug. "I see things worked out for you then."

"Yeah, thanks for your help Weiss. I heard what you said to my father, and I really appreciate it." Ruby said into the crook of Weiss' neck.

"Of course Ruby. I love you, and I would do anything for you." Weiss and Ruby stood there for god knows how long, just letting the moment last as long as possible.
