"May I'm really worried, I mean Dirk should be back by now," Drew said looking out the window, it was still early in the morning however Dirk was already out an on his job

It had been a few months since Dirk and Mashmellow (Delibird) Had got the newspaper job, and everyday Dirk and Delibird would pack up their bags/tails with Newspaper and leave the house delivering the paper. And Every morning Drew would have slight panic attack about how long it took him, looking at his wife he frowned.

May was a good mom, she worried she over did everything, however for some reason she was totally ok with Dirk walking around by himself with just a Delibird delivering papers. Drew sighed walking away from the window to head towards the kitchen, there May sat with Madoka, her hair the same shade as her mothers, and eyes too. May looked up before shaking her head.

"You worry to much, I promise you he's fine,"

And He was for Dirk was on the last few houses on his route with his trusty Delibird right beside him. They turned to stare up at the oldest house on the black, and the most run down house, walking up the porch Dirk knocked on the door, and slowly the door opened.

"Hellow," Dirk said reaching to hand the person the paper

"Thank you Dirk," Came an old reply

"Mr. Gordon you ok,"

"I'm Tired son, very tired,"

"Is that why your yard is bad,"

"Yes," The old man with the huntched back walked over to the swing and sat down, looking out at his ran down yard

"Ellinor would be so sad,"

"Who's that,"

'She was my wife, but she passed away a few years back,"

"I'm sorry,' Dirk lowered his head before looking at Delibird

"It's ok, i'll see her soon,"

"What you mean,"

"My Time is ending, i'll get to rest soon,"

Dirk felt tears in his eyes, "You tant leave,"

"Dirk, everyone leaves at some point, it's how life works, but your young and full of life, and i'm old and running out,"

"You can have some of mine,"

"It don't work that way,' Mr. Gordon laughed "You know boy one day i'm going to have you a present,"

"I Dont want a present,"

"Really, but I will make it nice and pretty,"

"I Want you to be ok,"

"You have a kind heart boy," And with that Mr. Gordon left to go back inside an Dirk left to finish his job

on his way home however he started to cry again, before he took off running with Delibird beside him flying.

'DADDY, DADDY,"

Drew jumped up from his seat and turned towards the door where a crying Dirk stood, he and May both rushed over to him.

"Mr. Gordon said, Mr. Gordon,"

"What son,"

"He said he not gonna be here much longer,"

"Oh, Dirk," May cooed pulling him in her arms

"He said his time ending,"

"I'm Sorry baby,"

"is ther anything we can do,"

"I'm afraid their isn't," Drew said

"Dirk, maybe you could do something to make him feel better, like write a card or draw a picture,"

"Or fix his yard,"

"Or fix, wait what,' Drew turned to look at him

"He said his wife loved his yard, but its ruined, we could fix it for him tant we,"

"Buddy thats a lot to do,"

"But your off today,"

"Today, buddy, daddy doesn't know,"

"Pwease, Daddy i'll help and Mashmellow too, and, and,"

Drew placed his hand on his head, "Easy, i'll see what I can do,"

'We still have some of that mulch from the flowerbeds, and a few flower seeds,"

Dirk looked up at his parents as they continued to talk, a smile returning to his cheery face as him and his dad left to go to the Home Depot. Later that morning Drew was pulling up next to Mr. Gordon's house with a wagon full of Garden and Lawn supplies.

"What are you doing here,' Mr. Gordon asked from his porch

"Well we here to fix your yard," Dirk said running up the porch

"My yard,"

'Yep, and mommy said she could help you clean your house, and stuff," Dirk explained overexcited

"You don't have to do that,"

"But it's to make you feel better,"

"Still,"

"I'm gonna do it," Dirk said

Mr. Gordon looked at the boy,, before sighing

"I guess if your gonna do it, your gonna do it huh, Just dont mess it up worked hard on it,"

Dirk laughed at his joke before May walked up.

"So is there any room in particular you want me to clean,"

'The kitchen would be nice, here i'll help,"

Slowly the two made it inside and Dirk and Drew set out to make the yard a yard, thankfully, a friend of theirs was able to watch Madoka at short notice, however a few owngowers from the neighborhood showed up to watch them rip up the old dead grass and some even set off helping as well. Soon half the neighborhood was there fixing up the yard and house. Some of the elderly ladies had brought over some food dishes and had begun to help with the cleaning.

After a long day's work the yard was done and minor things on the house fixed along with it being cleaned. Sitting here and there everyone enjoyed a few jokes old stories and some homemade food before departing.

Dirk was very happy with his work, but sadly his happiness fell threw and sorrow became him. For two weeks later Mr. Gordon passed away from old age, it had been three days before a Dirk set out to do his job again. Sniffling along he walked Hand in Hand with his father to deliver the newspapers. As they neared Mr. Gordon's house Dirk ran up the steps and in one of the saddest acts Drew had ever seen sat the newspaper down on the little table by the porch swing before walking back to him. The paper had a red bow wrapped around it, and it stood out amongst the old paint of the house. Walking away a voice called out to them.

"Wait please,"

Turning a mid-aged man stood on the porch holding a small present bag, he walked over to them and knelt down to look at Dirk

"Are you Dirk Hayden,"

A small sniffle and a nod

"My Father spoke of you often, always said you had a big heart, and one of his last request was to deliver this present to you,"

Slowly Dirk took the present and pressed it to his body.

The man pulled out an envelope with Dirk's name on and began to read

"Little Buddy,

If your hearing this my time has passed, I know you must be sad, with that big heart of yours but i'm happy now I don't hurt and i'm with Ellinor again. I Wanted to thank you for always brightening up my mornings with your cheery face, and for my nice yard I didn't get to enjoy it long but what time I did have it was perfect. I have one last favor for you little one, remember that present I said i'd get you, well I got it for you and I need you to take good care of it. Its shy, but I know you'll win it over,

With love Mr. Henery P. Gordon,"

Dirk was crying wiping his eys with one hand the other clenching the small bag. Slowly he reached in and pulled out a single pokeball, enlarging it with shaking hands it opened and a small sad Charmander stood with its tail limp looking at the boy.

"I remember this Charmander, Dad got him a year ago from a friend of the family, I dont remember them getting along much, but I remember they liked to sit on the swing together,"

Dirk looked at the small pokemon, before hugging it tight and crying. He fell down as Delibird wrapped around his back to hug him, Charmander crying too.
