Jazz watched them both hurting, and didn't know what to do. Both Ratchet and Prowl were such stubborn mechs. And now they both insisted on isolating themselves. He let the problem worry him enough it traveled through the bond one night as he was trying to relax with Soundwave.
The cassettes were off with Bumblebee and Soundwave had been hoping to just spend some time with his bonded in peace and quiet. The other's obvious discomfort, though, unsettled him greatly. It seemed that, even after everything they had been through, things still couldn't go smoothly for them. He brought a servo up to rub Jazz's neck cables.
"Something: Bothering Jazz?"
He was pretty sure he already knew what it was, but it never hurt to be clear. Jazz sighed and leaned into Soundwave's touch.
"It's this whole situation with Ratchet and Prowl. It's just like one thing after another is coming between them. Prowl won't even open his door for Ratchet anymore and he's working himself to the brink! This has got to stop!"
Soundwave considered it for a moment, servo never pausing in its ministrations of Jazz's neck cabling. He could feel the black and white mech slowly relaxing.
"Soundwave: Could hack Prowl's door. Ratchet: Would then be able to get in to see to his medical needs and resolve tension."
A smile stretched across Jazz's face. "Oh, I knew there was a reason I loved you." Jazz felt much better about his friends, knowing Soundwave would help. He could let it go for now and enjoy the time he had with Soundwave. He turned into to cuddle up against his lover.
Across the base Rumble walked with his siblings and Bumblebee. "I'm bored, can we go play video games?"
Frenzy shushed his sibling, eyeing their guardian calculatingly. "Shhh! We just gotta wait for the prefect moment!"
He slowed his pace, and the pace of his twin, just slightly enough for them to fall to the back of the group, but not enough to arouse suspicion. If they fell behind too quickly, Ravage or Ratbat would catch on to their scheme. Those two were far to used to having to keep them in line. As the group rounded a corner, the twins stopped and darted back around it, waiting the few moments to make sure they weren't noticed before grinning broadly at each other.
"We've probably got about 4 minutes before they realize we're gone."
Frenzy grinned at his twin.
"Let's put it to good use, then!"
The two tiny bots sped off down the hall, back the way they'd come. Soundwave had been working with Wheeljack and Perceptor lately and his most recent project was sitting, unsupervised, in the labs. Their carrier had made them swear not to prank any of the Autobots, but he didn't said anything about inter-family warfare. Besides, they weren't going to damage it, or anything. Surely Soundwave couldn't get too mad at them. (Besides, they were pretty sure Jazz would love it when he found out his bondmate got covered in neon green goo.)
Oh, yeah. This was gonna be good.
The twins sped around another corner, only to run full-force into somebot's legs. Sprawled out on the floor, afts aching, the twins groaned.
"Well, well, well, look who it is. Some of the little pests have wandered off on their own."
The twins gulped as they stared up at the minicons before them. This was not going to end well. Rumble quickly scrambled to his pedes pulling Frenzy up with him. They could either run or stand their ground, and Rumble chose to stand up. They were a part of the Autobots now too. "So, there's nothing against the rules about two Autobots walking around base."
"Sure, sure. Nothing wrong with two Autobots…But you'd think Decepticons would be a bit more careful. Where's daddy to keep you safe?"
Frenzy stood tall next to his brother.
"We're not Decepticons anymore, minidorks!"
Brawn all but growled and took a threatening step forward, making the Rumble and Frenzy take a quick step back. They could hold their own in a fight, no questions there, but four on two weren't good odds. Especially when all four of your opponents were bigger than you.
"Once a Decepticon, always a Decepticon."
Huffer nodded right along with him, Gears and Windcharger looking menacing behind them.
"I'm thinking we teach these punks what happens when you mess with Autobots."
"Yeah. We don't take too kindly to spies around here."
Bumblebee finally looked around at his charges, concerned by the lack of noise from the two most rambunctious of the cassettes. He stopped short when he saw they weren't there. Jazz and Soundwave would kill him if anything happened to the twins. "Where'd Rumble and Frenzy go?" He asked the rest of them.
The cassettes looked around with him, Ravage heaving an audible sigh before hanging his head and sniffing the ground. There was no fresh sent of his brothers, meaning they'd managed to ditch to group at least a few minutes before. Unfortunately, that also meant they could be just about anywhere. He immediately started back tracking the way they'd come, trying to track down the scent of his sibling, Bumblebee and the avians trialed behind. Ravage felt a flash of pity for the bug, stuck with the siblings who couldn't, or wouldn't, speak. At least he was following.
Bumblebee couldn't help but worry. There were so many on base that didn't agree with letting the Decepticons switch sides. He wanted to think that they could handle themselves, but if too many ganged up on them, they could get seriously hurt. "I'm a failure of a babysitter. Not even ten minutes and I lose two of you guys. Jazz and Soundwave will never let me watch you guys again." The yellow mech went back and forth, unable to decide if he should call Jazz and Soundwave.
Ravage rolled his eyes at the bug's melodrama. (At least that's what it was in his opinion.) Jazz and Soundwave both knew how wild Rumble and Frenzy could be, especially Soundwave. If the twins wanted to sneak away and get into trouble, there was going to be nothing that could stop them. The pair wouldn't hold this incident against Bumblebee. In all honesty, it surprised Ravage that it had taken the twins this long to slip away somewhere.
A/N: Hope you all enjoy. As always, we'd love to hear from you.
