Chapter 38- Peace
Trunks stretched, his eyes scanning the dimly lit room. The sun wasn't even up, yet he was wide awake. The faint weight on his chest made him smile and he glanced down to see Pan's head peacefully resting on it. He reached down, moving some hair out of her face and making her nose scrunch up. Slowly, she opened her eyes, but only barely.
"I was having a nice dream..." Her sleepy voice whispered.
"Was you?" Trunks smiled down at her.
"Yeah... We were married."
"As soon as we get back to our time, Panna..." He whispered. He would definitely propose to her again, and with a ring too.
"Mm," she smiled, closing her eyes again. "We had kids, too."
"How many?" Trunks raised an eyebrow with a grin. He knew she wanted kids, he too wanted kids. And to be the father of her children... Nothing would make him prouder.
"Several..." She laughed softly, nuzzling into him. "They were all a bunch of charmers..."
"I bet," he snorted. They were their children, after all.
It was silent between the two of them as Trunks was sure Pan was drifting off sleep again.
"Trunks..." She whispered.
"Hm?" He said lightly, rubbing small circles on her back as he looked at the ceiling.
"I love you... Like, a whole lot."
He grinned, "I love you a whole lot too, Panna."
Another minute of silence passed...
"Trunks...?"
"Yes, Panna?"
"We can have several kids, right...?"
"As many as you want, Princess," he promised.
"Good," she sighed happily, drifting off into a peaceful sleep.

A few hours later, when the sun had rose, Pan and Trunks groggily made their way downstairs for breakfast. Vegeta had already scarfed down his food, but Gohan and their mothers were taking their time.
"I'm training in the gravity room today," Vegeta spoke as he stood up from his spot at the head of the table. He glanced at Trunks, "if you'd like... It wouldn't be a bother if you joined me," he managed. "The brats can come too," he added, motioning to Gohan and Pan before he stalked off.
Gohan's eyes were wide with surprise, and he looked at Trunks happily. "We'll go change when we get finished eating," he smiled.
"Panny, are you going to go train...?" Chi-Chi asked softly.
Pan looked at her mother and smiled. She would love I go train, but she knew that it would likely only stress her mother out after the events that happened yesterday. She was also still pretty tired.
"No," Pan assured Chi-Chi. "I think I'll just hang out with you and Bulma, if that's alright."
"Of course," smiled Bulma.

A week had passed before anyone knew it, and the machine that Trunks and Pan were going to be using to travel back in almost had all of it's juice restored. Bulma and Dr Briefs both studied it closely, and Trunks even let them keep the one Cell traveled in... He figured with geniuses like his mother and grandfather studying it, it would be no problem for them to make one of there own.
"Okay... Here we are," Chi-Chi said softly, opening the door to her house.
Pan and Trunks followed Chi-Chi and Gohan inside and glanced around. The first time they were there was to pick up Goku and move him, and now that the man was gone... They would be staying the night there before heading back to their time the following day.
Pan took a step forward, her eyes scanning every nook and cranny. This home... It was beautiful, and it fit her mother perfectly. This would be the home her counterpart would be living in. How lucky the girl would be, but Pan didn't feel jealous. She loved her home at Capsule Corp and wouldn't trade it for the world.
"I'm going to start on lunch," Chi-Chi spoke up. "Gohan, why don't you go get some firewood?"
Gohan started to frown until Trunks spoke up, "I'll go with you to help."
"Thanks!" The boy beamed, eager to spend time with the older man who he had viewed much like an older brother figure.
Pan smiled as she watched the boys leave. "Momma," she turned to the woman who was heading towards the kitchen. "May I help you?"
"Of course!" Chi-Chi gleamed.

Pan watched the boys outside of the kitchen window as she waited for the pumpkin pie to cool down. They had finished gathering fire wood half an hour ago and now they were in the back, sparing. Pan almost felt as if she had a small little family. She was so busy watching them that she didn't even hear her mother walk up behind her.
"He's the one, isn't he?" She whispered.
Pan jumped slightly, looking at her mother with a flushed face. "He's always been the one, Momma," she told her honestly.
Chi-Chi only smiled, glancing out the window as well. Just then, Trunks looked up, his eyes caught Pan's before giving her a wink and going back to sparing.
The older woman's eyes softened... That was it. Young love. Trunks and Pan had it. But Chi-Chi knew it was so much more than that.

"What are you looking at?" Trunks asked, walking into his and Pan's room after a shower.
She smiled up from her spot on the bed, holding a few pictures in her hands. "Remember a few days before the Cell Games when Bulma had a camera and was taking pictures like crazy...? She printed off two copies of them and gave me one of them so we could take it with us... I was just about to look at them," she patted the spot beside her.
Trunks sat down beside her, leaning against the headboard. The first picture was one of Krillin, Yamacha and Tein. The next one Trunks and Pan and joined in the photos as well... One of Gohan... One of Gohan and them, Gohan and Pan, Gohan and Trunks... One of Goku and Chi-Chi... One of Goku and Pan, Chi-Chi and Pan, and one of Pan and both her parents... One of Bulma and Baby Trunks... One of Trunks and Bulma... Trunks and Baby Trunks... Trunks, Baby Trunks and Pan... And there were several of just Trunks and Pan... And finally, one of the father and son- Vegeta and Trunks. They were sitting a table and it looked like they were caught off guard by the snap, but it was still a nice picture.
Pan leaned her head against Trunks' shoulder, fighting back a sniff. "Part of me doesn't want to leave," she admitted in a whisper.
"Me too," he whispered back.
"But I miss our moms..."
"Yeah... I wonder how much time has passed for them."
"Do you think it's been long?" Pan raised a brow.
"I'm not sure... We've been here for almost a month now," he told her.
"Seems like so much longer..." She whispered. "Probably because of then Hyperbolic Time Chamber, huh?"
"Probably," he nodded, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and kissing her temple. "Let's not worry about it until we get there... I just hope it hasn't been too long."
Pan agreed silently. She just hoped the Androids hadn't attacked since they had been gone...
