Chapter 38
"Snow where have you been" Charming asked as he saw his hysteric wife making her way into the room
"Charming have you seen Emma" Snow asked ignoring his previous question, she needed to find her daughter fast, the way Emma had left Gold's house frighten her, she was scared that Emma might do something she'll later regret
"No why? I thought she was with you" he said as he felt his worry start at the way his wife searched the apartment "Snow she's not here"
"We went to Rumpelstiltskin house to talk to him about her magic and she ran away…"
"Wait slow down, what do you mean you went to Rumpelstiltskin and she ran away?" he asked in a worried tone, Snow actions were scaring him a bit.
"We were having a discussion and she used magic Charming…she…she made a hole right through the wall as the magic exploded from her body and we got scared, she was so frightened by what had happened that we ran to him for answers" she mumbled
"And what did he say" Charming asked as curiosity and worry got the best of him
"He didn't get to say much, because once he told her that he had given her his magic for his son Emma lost it and we got completely of track and before anything else could happen Neal walked through the door" Snow said with a shocked expression "his alive…he…"
"I know" Charming said before Snow could say anything else
"Wait how…"
"He came here to see Henry" Charming said while he pointed at the boy who was calmly sleeping on the sofa "he had the nerve to come here after everything he did to her and…"
"What did you do" Snow asked in worry as she saw the look of pure hatred on her husband's eyes "Charming…"
"I wanted to kill him…I was going to make him pay for all the things he did to her… but before I could do anything Hook stopped me…"
"Hook?" Snow asked in confusion
"Yes, he came here before I could finish him and convince me to stop…you were right" he mumbled "he really does care about her"
Snow gave him a small smile as she saw the worry and jealousy on Charming's eyes, it was clear to her that he still saw Emma as his little girl and not the woman she actually was "yes he does"
"You know for some reason I don't find him as bad as I used to" he smiled
"You don't?" Snow asked in an amused voice
"No…but that doesn't mean that I support what he feels towards her, I still want him away from her"
"Charming…"
"NO, she deserves much better than a pirate Snow"
"Charming, you and I both know that no one will ever be good for her in your eyes" Snow smiled and he gave her a guilty smile that told her she was right, for him no one would ever be good enough for their little girl
"Yes, no one" he smiled "but why did she run away?" he asked wanting to come back to the conversation they were just having
"Because she saw him" Snow said "the minute he came through the door Emma panicked and ran away, I wanted to follow her but got distracted by Neal's presence…"
"And you couldn't leave without giving him a piece of your mind" he smiled
"You know me to well Charming" she smiled but her smile quickly faded when she remembered what she come here to do "we need to find her Charming" she mumbled in panic
"Snow calm down" he said while pulling closer to her
"No David, what if she ran away"
"Snow…"
"She's a runner Charming she…"
"Snow she would never leave without Henry" he said and immediately she relaxed "if there is something I'm sure of is that she would never leave without him, his her world Snow, just like she is ours" he smiled
"Your right" Snow said as she finally relaxed "she would never leave him" she said while settling right next her beautiful grandson and smiled "did he see him?" she asked Charming once she settle Henry's head on her lap
"Yes" he said with a pained expression "I was inside when I heard some screaming, but when I came out Henry was already making his way inside, I tried talking to him about it but he didn't say much, by the look in his eyes I could swear things didn't go well" he said with so much pain in his voice, it broke his heart to think of all the things Henry had endured at such a young age
"I'm sure they didn't" Snow mumbled "his mad at him, his…"
"He has every right to be" Charming interrupted "he had blamed Emma for everything, he was mad at her for so long that it's only natural for him to be mad at his father after everything he saw, after the way he saw her suffer because of him"
"Yes but no matter what, he is his father David his…"
"His a coward" Charming said in anger "and I am NOT going to let him hurt them again, I am NOT going to stand by while he makes promises and breaks them, they are not alone anymore Snow they…"
"They have us" Snow interrupted "but that doesn't mean he should push him away, that doesn't give us the right to let him hate his father Charming, we can't be that hypocritical, we can't let him hate his father for leaving him, for leaving them, when we did the same" she said in a painful voice "we did the same, we…"
"NO we didn't" he interrupted her "we didn't have a choice, at least not in the way he did" he said with anger because it was true, their choice was a matter of life or death, when Neal's choice was made by him being a coward. They had made their choice thinking Regina was going to murder their little girl and he had left her because he didn't want to face his father
"Your right, but we still left her, we are still the cause of her suffering just like he is…we allowed Geppetto and the Blue Fairy to trick us we…"
"Wait why are you bringing this up…what do they have to do with anything Snow…we couldn't have known we…"
"We should have" she yelled "it was our responsibility Charming, the only thing we had to do was make sure that I went through with her, we failed her we…"
"Snow stop…STOP" he yelled, he didn't know why she was bring this up now, they had already discussed this and she had been the one to calm him down, so why the hell was she blaming herself now "why are you bringing this up Snow"
"Emma doesn't remember the truth, she doesn't know that we didn't know, so she yelled at me for it, she blamed me, and accused me of abandoning her, of sending a small boy with her instead of me, she…"
"Wait what?"
"That's what triggered her magic" Snow said as she realized Charming's confusion "she was so angry with me that her magic exploded" she explained
"Snow, she said that because she doesn't know"
"How do you know that Charming" Snow questioned "how do we know this is not the way she always felt"
"What do you mean?"
"When the curse broke she had no time for a break down, we were thrown from one thing to the other, never really having chance to voice her emotions, how do we know that's not how she always felt, how do we know she hasn't always felt this way towards us"
"Because…"
"We don't…we don't know…what if she always hated us…"
"You know that's not true" he interrupted
"No Charming I don't" she said with a stronger voice "I don't because since we came back from Neverland the only thing she has done is push us away, she pushes so hard that its even hard to believe that she'll ever want us to be part of her life, Emma wants nothing to do with us, nothing…"
"But…"
"No David, we can't fool ourselves saying that it's because she doesn't remember, because that's a lie…that's a lie because the only thing she forgot was her time after the curse, which means that if she really wanted us then everything should have been just like it was when she first broke the curse and you and I both know that it's not, she is different, she's…"
"She's different because she now has some dark magic in her" Regina said as she came into the room "sorry I came to check on Henry and heard your little speech"
"Of course you did" Charming said with a little annoyance
"What's that supposed to mean" Regina asked with the same annoyance
"You've heard most of our last conversations, if I didn't know any better I would say you've spied on us" he said with more annoyance
"Are you kidding me" she said "I couldn't care less about you two"
"Regina what do you mean with Emma having some darkness inside of her?" Snow asked, not really caring whether Regina was spying on them or not, right now the only thing she care about was Emma, and Regina had just said something that could somehow explain Emma's hostility towards them
"Your daughter has darkness inside of her" Regina said
"What's that supposed to mean" Snow said a little worried
"Sometimes I don't know whether you act or you are stupid" Regina said with a small laugh, it sometimes made her smile the nativity of the woman in front of her
"Regina" David cautioned in a warning tone
"Sorry" Regina said with another smile "it's just that sometimes your stupidity strikes a nerve"
"What do you mean with Emma having darkness inside of her" Charming asked not really in the mood for Regina's insults
"Rumpelstiltskin's magic is not pure magic, it's a curse" she explained "when he gave Emma his magic he gave…"
"He gave her his curse" Snow finished for her
"Of course he did" Regina said with a smile "whether you like to admit it or not your daughter is the new…"
"She's the new dark one" Snow said as she finally understood the meaning behind Regina's words, Emma had darkness inside of her because she now contained the power of the dark one, but Rumpelstiltskin had said that evil was not made, that evil was created "when I asked him he told me that Emma had a choice, he told me that having his power would not make her evil, that…"
"Yes she has a choice, but that doesn't mean that the darkness of his power is not inside of her, that doesn't mean that she has more darkness then she usually had" Regina tried to explain "your daughter has a choice, but that doesn't mean that it's going to be an easy one"
"But…"
"Everyone has a choice" Regina interrupted "and your actions are what make you evil, but Emma now has a dark power in her heart that she didn't have before… Snow, Emma is going to have to choose wisely, and you two are going to have to be patient because one mistake can put her in the wrong direction, trust me" she said with pain in her voice, she had been offered the same choice once, she had the opportunity to choose good or evil and one wrong choice; her trust in the wrong man made her chose evil "being evil is the easy choice, be patient, be gentle, don't give her the opportunity to take the easy way out"
"You had a choice?" Snow asked
"Of course I did" Regina said a little offended
"What made you chose evil" Snow asked even though she already knew the answer to that question, it was her, it was always her
"Rumpelstiltskin"
"What?" Snow asked clearly taken of guard
"Not everything is your fault Snow" Regina said with a small laugh
"I…"
"I got into magic thinking I could bring him back" Regina said before Snow could answer "when I lost hope, I chose evil" she explained
"Oh…"
"Don't let her push you away…don't let the experiences she went through and your guilt allow her to pull away from you, she needs love Snow, she needs people to be with her, if you give her that, she'll make the right choice, trust me…I know I would have" she said while making her way next to her son and smiled "I came here to talk to her, but judging by your expressions she's not home" she said while changing the subject, she was starting to get vulnerable and if there was something she would never allow herself to do is be vulnerable in front of Snow White, she still had some dignity left in her.
Snow was taken off guard by Regina's sudden change in both conversation an attitude, but realized that this was her way of protecting herself, this was her way of closing of, and considering the fact that they were finally talking of something rather than trying to kill each other she decided not to push and allow her the subject change "yeah she's not home"
"I wanted to talk to her about Henry" Regina said with a thankful smile, she knew Snow had seen right through her act
"What about Henry" Snow asked
"I know she doesn't remember anything after the curse broke and I don't want her to push me away from him, I am NOT losing him again" she said with a stronger voice
"Of course not" Snow said with the same strength "his your son, just like his is Emma's"
"What" Regina said a little surprise, she couldn't believe what Snow had just said, had she just accepted her as one of Henry's mother
"His your son" Snow said again "and Emma knows that"
"She does?" Regina asked again with some confusion
"Of course she does" Snow said with a smile "let me talk to her first"
"Why" Regina asked "I can handle your daughter"
"Don't be so sure" Snow said with a smile
"I can…"
"Regina, trust me" Snow said while placing her hand on top of hers, smiling when Regina didn't pull away "come back tomorrow and you and Emma can arrange Henrys schedule, but first let me ease her into it, please"
"Alright" Regina said as she got up from the chair and went through the door "but if she…"
"She won't" Snow interrupted her before Regina could attempt a stupid threat
"See you tomorrow" and just like that she exited the room, leaving Snow and Charming behind
"Wow that was…"
"I told you she was changing" Snow said with a smile
"Yes you did" he said smiling back "I guess I had to see it to believe it"
"So how did you find me here" Emma asked as she sat on the beach next to Daniel, Henry had told her a thousand times that no one could leave or come to Storybrook but her, so how had Daniel managed to find this place, had that rule been broken with the curse
"I've been looking for you for some time now" Peter said with a smile, they had been talking for a while, Emma had told him everything she had done since she last saw him, but neither one of them had revealed their real identity, Emma still kept the fact that she was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming from him, which made him realized that he had to give her a little push, if he wanted his plan to work he needed Emma to start talking about her parents
"Emma there is something I been meaning to tell you" he said quickly, the faster he got to the point the better, the person that had accompanied him from Neverland was growing impatient and he knew it was only a matter of time before that person intervened
"Me too" Emma said with a small smile "I found him"
"Him?" Peter asked with a smile, he was hoping she would say them
"Well actually he found me" Emma said with a bigger smile "he is so beautiful, Daniel" she smiled "and he is so smart and kind and…"
"Emma who are we talking about" Peter asked even though he knew she was talking about Henry, but he had to act as clueless as possible because Emma was smart and one step in the wrong direction would have Emma closing up on him, and that was the last thing he needed
"Henry…Henry my son" she smiled with so much love and happiness that he couldn't help but smile back at her, he loved the way she smiled
"You found him?" he asked
"He found me" she smiled "came knocking on my door"
"How?"
"I don't know" she said "I don't know how he did it but I'm so glad he did" she smiled "he is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I don't know how I could have gone so long without him…I should have never given him up, I…"
"Em, we both know you didn't have a choice" he said with a painful smile
"Yes I know, but I should have done more I…"
"Emma don't do that to yourself" he said as he placed a hand on her chin and forced her to look at him in the eye "it already happened"
"I know it's just that the thought of him growing up with her" she said with anger "the thought of him not having his best chance makes me regret giving him away"
"What do you mean?"
"He was raised by a monster" Emma said as her anger took the best of her and she pulled away from him "he was raised by a woman that never gave him love and it's my fault" she yelled "Rogers said he placed him in a good family, he promised he was going to be loved and cared for, he lied to me and if I ever see him again I'm going to…"
"Emma stop" Peter said while pulling her closer to him, they were getting of track, he didn't come here to talk about Dave, he came here for a different reason and he didn't have time for Emma's blaming game "you can't duel on the past"
"He gave my son to the Evil Queen" Emma yelled in anger, but the minute the words came out of her mouth she placed her hand over her mouth and turned away from him, missing Peters smile at her slip up, she had finally given him what he needed to get the conversation back on track "I mean…"
"Don't" Peter interrupted "I know what you mean"
"You do?" Emma asked in confusion
"Emma there is something I've been meaning to tell you" he said with a fake frown, it was now or never
"What" Emma asked in confusion
"I'm from that world too" he said, the faster he said it the better "I'm from the Enchanted Forest"
"What" Emma yelled while taking a step back "you…"
"Yes" he interrupted before she could say anything else "I know everything, I know you are the savior, I know you are the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, I've known that for a long time"
"That's a lie, that..." she yelled while walking farther away from him, he had to be lying, he couldn't be from there, he couldn't be a part of that world not him too. Her life could not be that messed up, first Neal and now him, NO
"Emma"
"Who are you" she yelled "who the hell are you"
"I'm Daniel; I'm your friend, your protector your…"
"In that world, who are you in that world" she yelled
"Peter, Peter Pan" he said with a smile and didn't miss the confusion and pain that took over her eyes, so they had told her, her family had told her about him, they had shared with her what he had done to her, just like he hoped they would
"No that, that's not true you can't…"
"Emma" he said while taking a step forward
"Stay away from me" she yelled while pulling her gun and pointing it straight at him, if he was Peter Pan then that meant he was the one that caused her to lose her memory, he was the one that almost got her killed
"Emma what are you doing" he said while taking a step forward
"What do you want from me" she yelled
"I want to protect you" he said with a calm tone and gave a small smile when he saw the confusion rise in her eyes
"From what?" she asked with curiosity
"From them" he yelled "from the people that claim to love you even though they abandoned you when you were born"
"What…"
"Emma they don't love you, they never did and you know that" he said "they are just using you…"
"No that's a lie"
"No it's not Emma, it's not a lie, why would I lie to you" he asked "when have I ever lied to you Emma…"
"You're from that world, you knew who I was and you never told me you…"
"Would you have believed me if I did?" he quickly asked knowing that this would bring Emma back to the matter at hand
"No" Emma said in a defeated tone "no but…"
"The only thing I've ever done is protect you" he said "I've always been there for you Emma, always"
"They said you hurt me, they said that you wanted my magic they…"
"They lied" he said as he came closer to her and smiled when she didn't pull back "they lied because they want you to hate me, they want you to sacrifice yourself for them once again…"
"Sacrifice myself" Emma said with confusion in her voice once again and Peter couldn't help but smile
"They didn't tell you?" he asked
"Tell me what" she yelled, what the hell was he talking about, sacrificing herself, sacrificing herself for what
"You only broke one part of the curse" he explained
"What"
"True loves kiss broke their haze but it didn't bring them back" he explained "they remember who they are but they are stuck in this place, they are stuck here until you sacrifice yourself"
"Sacrifice myself?" Emma asked with confusion
"Yes Emma, you must die for them to go back, you being alive is what's keeping them here, they don't love you, they don't want you, they are just making you believe that until you are whiling to sacrifice your life for them" he explained, secretly smiling when he saw a flash of confusion in her eyes
"That's a lie" she yelled "you are lying to me"
"No Emma I'm not" he said while taking a step forward "that's why I took you to Neverland, I was protecting you from them, they don't love you Emma, they only love what you can do" he said "they are using you so that they can have their real family Emma, you are not a baby anymore, you can no longer give them what they want, a chance to be mom and dad, you are broken"
"That's"
"You know I'm not lying Emma, you know that…I would never hurt you Emma"
"That can't be true that…"
"Emma look at me" he said "I wanted to protect you just like I've always had Emma. I've always been there for you, I've protected you from everything, don't you think that if I wanted to hurt you I would have done it already" he asked
"They said you didn't take me because I no longer believed and you needed me to"
"That's true" he said "you needed to believe in order to come to Neverland, but that doesn't mean that I would hurt you Emma"
"They said you were sucking my…"
"Without your magic you can't sacrifice yourself for them" he explained
"So you did take it away from me"
"I had to…Emma I had to protect you"
"I need some time" she said while pulling away from him
"Alright" he said while pulling closer to her "just do me a favor" he said
"What?" she asked harshly
"Don't tell them you saw me" he said and didn't miss the confusion that took over her eyes
"Why"
"Because they are going to turn you against me Emma" he said with some frustration "don't tell them about me and you'll see that I was not lying, you'll see that they only want your sacrifice, but if you tell them about me, then they'll do everything in their power to turn you against me and you'll never know the truth" he explained, he knew this was a risky plan but by the look in her eyes he knew he had succeeded, the seed of the doubt was planted on Emma's mind which meant that she would do everything in her power to find out whether he was telling the truth or not and that was all he needed. Because as long as she didn't tell her parent about him, he had time to turn her against them.
"Fine" she said as she pulled farther from him "just don't look for me, I'll come find you"
"Alright" he said with a smile "take care of yourself, please"
"I will" she said and she finally walked away from him
Once she was out of reach Peter let out an evil laugh, he had done it, he had managed to turn her against them without her knowing, his plan was going to be a success, Emma was going to be his and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it because this time it was going to be her choice
"Hello Peter"
"What" he said as he turned around "what are you doing here" he asked
"It's been a week"
"I know"
"I'm starting to grow impatient Peter"
"We are almost there" he said with a smile "give me two more days and her magic will be yours"
"You sound so sure"
"Oh I am, in two days Emma will be the one to give you her magic, willingly"
"Willingly"
"Yes"
"You better be right Peter, because if she doesn't then…"
"Oh she will, trust me" he smiled
"I don't"
"I know, but I'll prove you wrong"
"If I don't have her magic in two days then, I'll have your life"
Peter felt the color leave his face at the threat, he knew that his life was on the line, but hearing the threat just sent another surge of fear through him "I won't fail, you'll have her magic and I'll have her" he smiled and just like that the figure disappeared leaving him trembling on the floor
Emma walked out of the beach as all the things Daniel had told her came into mind. First he was from her world, Daniel, the kid that had saved her countless of times was from her world, he was from there and he never told her. He saw her suffer day and night, thinking that her parents had abandoned her and he never once told her the truth. He had been a part of it just like Neal and August and everyone that Emma had ever trusted. He had been a part of her life in a worse way then she had thought, he had known the truth all along and not once tried to warn her.
She felt the anger rise through her, why…why had this happened to her. Why did he have to be part of it to, had there been one part of her life that wasn't touched by that stupid world, had there been one part of her life that was not touched by that stupid curse? Just when she thought things where about to get normal another thing happened that turned her world around
Daniel was Peter Pan, Daniel was the one her parents said had hurt her, he was the one responsible for causing her pain, no that couldn't be true. Something had to be wrong, Daniel was her protector he was her savior, he was the only one that had been there for her, and he would never hurt her.
But then what he said didn't make sense either, why would her parents want her to sacrifice herself, when the only thing they had done since they got her back was go out of their way to show her how much they loved her, why would they go to so much trouble to convince her if they wanted her to die, no that didn't make since either, someone had to be lying, but who, who could it be, Daniel, the only person that had always been there for her but had lied about his identity or her parents, the people that abandoned her in the hope that she would come back and save them.
"Hello lass going somewhere" Hook said as he blocked her way
"Hook right?" She asked as she attempted to move once again but he blocked her way
"I liked it more when you called me Killan" he said with a wink
"Right then Killan" she said with a sarcastic smile "what can I do for you?"
"There's a lot of things you can do for me" he gave her another small wink "but right now I was hoping we could go for a drink" he smiled "you look a little tense"
"Alright, let me stop you right there" she said with another smile "whatever this is" she said pointing at the two of them "whatever you are trying to accomplish I'm not interested"
"You were interested before" he smiled
"Sure" she said "but I'm going to tell you the same thing I've been telling everyone. I don't remember, so whatever we had forget it"
"We had nothing but friendship lass" he smiled "but that's doesn't mean you weren't interested in me" he winked "just like you are now"
At that she gave him a sarcastic smile. This pirate was more confident then she once thought "I'm not..."
"You can deny it all you want" he winked again "we both know you are"
"Alright, you know what I don't have the time for this" she said while trying to move away from him
"No Swan wait" he said while blocking her way once again "I came here to offer you my services for whatever it is you need" he said "I know that all this has been hard for you. I know that you are confused and if there is anything I can help you..."
"There is" she interrupted before he could continue his rant. There was something he could help her with, he was Captain Hook, which meant he knew Peter Pan right. Wasn't he supposed to be the pirate that made Peters life miserable? That meant that if there was someone that knew the truth behind Daniel it was Hook
"Anything" he smiled
"What can you tell me about Peter Pan?" she asked
"His devil incarnated" he answered without hesitation "why"
"Just wondering" she quickly said but the smile that took over his face told her he had seen right through her
"Let me let you in on a little secret lass" he said "you and I understand each other. I know there was more to that question then simple curiosity. What is it?"
Emma looked at him in wonderment no one had ever seen right through her the way he just did "it's nothing..."
"Come on Swan. Give me more credit than that" he winked "why the sudden interest in that monster?"
"They told me what he did to me" she said quickly "I was just wondering how much of that was true"
"Everything" Hook said in confusion "that man is the reason you forgot. That man is the reason you almost died. His power hungry and crazy, his..."
"Every story I ever heard says what you just mentioned. But the big difference is that they are referring to you not him" she said with a harsh tone "so why should I..."
"Believe me Swan. Whatever you've heard is wrong. I might be a pirate but I have moral code. I would never do to you what he did. I would never hurt you"
"Why should I believe you" she asked harshly "I barely know anything about you"
"When we meet you told me you had a super power. One that allows you to see right through the lies" he said "it worked for you then" he smiled "use it now Swan. Use it now and check if I'm lying"
"You're not" she said quickly "you're not but I've been wrong before"
"This time you're not" he said "Swan I would never lie to you"
"That's the first thing a liar would say" she responded with a smile
"I know better than to lie to you Swan" he smiled "you always see right through my lies... Believe me when I tell you his evil, He is a bloody demon"
"I'll take your word for it" she said
"Wait. Why the sudden interest?" he asked, it was weird to him that Emma had a sudden interest for Pan. It didn't make since
"It's nothing. Just curiosity"
"We both know that's a lie Swan" Hook mumbled seeing right through her "but it's ok, I understand you need time to trust me again. But don't worry. If there is something I have is time… Time and patience, because if there is something you'll learn about me Swan is that when I want something I get it. And right now I want you. So I'll win back your trust. But most of all I'll win your heart. Because having you by my side will make everything I've been through worth it" he said with a smile and a small wink and just like that he disappeared into the darkness leaving Emma to pounder over what he had just said.
She closed her eyes as everything he just said came rushing into her. Who would have thought; Captain Hook. THE Captain Hook was in love with her.
As if she needed things to get weirder in her life. Her parents where Snow White and Prince Charming, her sons biological father was the son of no other then Rumpelstiltskin, Henrys adoptive mother was the Evil Queen, her best friend and possible enemy was Peter Pan and now Captain Hook was in love with her… No her life was no fairy tale her life was an actual nightmare
"Emma" she heard a familiar voice from behind and before she could find a way to escape, his eyes made contact with hers in the same way they had done 11 years ago and she found her feet rooted to the floor "I think we should talk" Neal said and the only thing Emma managed to do was nod

To answer some of your questions I am totally a Captain Swan fan
but for this story I am debating whether its going to be Swanfire or Captain Swan
