Chapter 37 – The Sadistic Shaddyzomb

Momoko's POV

"Hello? Oh, Tamaki-san, why do you call me this morning?"

I was listening to Aiko and Hana-chan's story about their (and Hazuki's) Feather Diamonds when suddenly Tamaki Reika called me by my phone cell and asked me to do something unusual…

"Hmm? So, you ask me to make a birthday cake for Erika-chan tomorrow?" I pointed out while walked away from the others, "How rare. I remember that your family used to buy sweets in the famous patisserie near your house. What happened?"

She just replied that the patisserie I mentioned just went bankrupt recently, so she thought it would be better if I could make the cake for her cousin.

"Aren't you afraid that my handmade cake won't be as delicious as the one that you used to buy?" I asked, listened to her answer and concluded, "Oh, alright. So you remember with the birthday cake that I and the others made for Doremi-chan when we arranged a surprise party for her in the fifth grade… and you admit that the cake was delicious, right? Okay, I'll make it for you. You just need to tell me which kind of birthday cake that you want for Erika-chan."

After I finished my conversation with her, I walked back to the others and joined in their conversation, "So, Ai-chan… Hana-chan… both of you and Hazuki-chan already got your Feather Diamonds now…"

"Yeah, that's right," replied Aiko, "By the way, does Tamaki call you just recently? I heard that you said her name a few minutes ago…"

"Uh-huh, she asked me to make a birthday cake for Erika-chan."

"Well, Poppu told me that Erika-chan would celebrate her birthday tomorrow," Doremi retorted, "Even so, why does Tamaki ask your help to make the birthday cake for her cousin?"

"I'm not sure if she's lying or not, but she just said that she couldn't order the cake in her favorite shop, so she decided to ask me," I said, "However, holiday will start tomorrow, so I have plenty time to make the cake."

"Momo, is it okay for you to make the cake by yourself? Tamaki-chan must be asking you to make a special cake for her cousin, and it must be difficult for you to do it alone," asked Hana-chan worriedly, "None of us can help you tomorrow."

"Don't worry, Hana-chan. I'm sure, I can handle this," I assured, "It's just like a challenge for me."

No wonder if Hana-chan was worried, because the others already had their own plan to spend the first day of the summer holiday tomorrow, so they couldn't help me to make the cake for Erika…

"Can I help you make the cake tomorrow?" Makoto suddenly asked, "I like baking so much."

"Hey, so you like to make sweets?" I asked in disbelief, "Mako-chan, why don't you tell us before?"

"Well, I always wanted to talk about it with you, but we never had much time to talk about our hobbies anytime we met," admitted the brunette, "Our conversation so far was just about the Rose Crystals and the Feather Diamonds."

"That's why we can't clearly see the similarity between us," Aiko sighed, "We never talked much about our hobbies."

"Similarity?" asked Doremi.

"Yeah, honestly, I talked with Hana-chan, Hazuki-chan, Mina-chan and Ami-chan about the counterpart things between us last night," added Aiko, "I thought that aside from you and Usagi-chan, I and the others didn't seem to have any similarities until now, but then I realized that we never talked much about something more personal like our hobbies all this time… and that's so ridiculous."

"I see. Maybe it's also because all of you had never met each other in the past," guessed the redhead, "Meanwhile, we always should be careful anytime, anywhere, because the Rose Crystal Catcher are keep attacking us, so we don't have time to talk about any other things."

"However, now we know that we should talk about our hobbies more often," concluded Usagi, "If we know more about each other and strengthen our friendship, we can be stronger in the final battle."

"That's it!" Kotake flicked his fingers, "I think the Feather Diamonds are related with our friendship. I mean, Fujiwara, Senoo and Makihatayama got their Feather Diamonds right after Aino and Mizuno supported them, so probably the rest of us will go through the same way to get ours."

"I think I should agree with you," Minako nodded, "That's why Doremi-chan's Senshi Tap stated that we still need to support you seven. All of you need our support so those Feather Diamonds can appear and make you stronger."

Right after she said it, the bell rang. It was time for us to walk into the classroom and take our own report card, get ready to welcome the summer holiday.

'So much things happened in these three months…' I thought, 'and summer holiday will start soon… Now I wonder if we can be relax a bit this summer, as it seems like, we also will reach the final battle soon…'

Normal POV

"Alright, just a little bit more, and my plan will be going smoothly…" said Shaddyzomb when she just arrived in an empty room. Her squad's room, "and once they realized my plan, it's already too late. I'll be the winner."

"Oh, Shad. Welcome home," greeted Chainelle as she walked into the room with the other demonic zombies, "It's so rare that you ate your breakfast outside there this morning…"

"Well, I'm the leader here, so I need some time for myself to think about our next strategy," Shaddyzomb sighed, "Those Rose Crystals are really difficult to get…"

"I get it. You went there with Voice last night but now… you come back alone," stated Piratta, "Can you just explain your real plan here? So far, your movement just made us lost our friends one by one…"

"Hey, it's those girls who killed Ace and Voice, not me," protested Shaddyzomb, "Moreover, we wouldn't ever lose them if there were some of you who had a better plan to get those Rose Crystals and attacked those girls with me. I appreciated their ideas so I let them joined with me, but I don't know if both Ace and Voice weren't strong enough to dodge those girls' attacks."

"Even so, you didn't help them to escape," Chainelle pointed out, "That's why I and Piratta suspect you."

"How can you say it? I'm the leader here, so I won't ever let anyone killed my fellow demonic zombies on purpose."

Chainelle and Piratta looked at each other, then both of them nodded before Chainelle said, "Alright then, I'll help you in your next trial, but you must prove to us that you aren't a bad leader for the demonic zombies."

"Okay, I get it!" replied Shaddyzomb, "I'll prove it tomorrow."

The shadowy demonic zombie walked out from the room, wanted to walk around the Rose Crystal Catcher's castle, but then Piceshia stood up in front of her and said, "Alright, it seems like, you hid something from your friends. Would you mind to share it with me?"

"Oh, young lady, I promise I'll get all of those Rose Crystals for you soon, but…"

"Do you need more help?" cut the pixie look-alike demon, "I mean, not the help from your useless friends?"

"Well, young lady, I think you say something wrong here. All of them are my friends, and I…"

"Honestly, I was disappointed to see your first failure, but when I saw your 'partnerships' with Acne and Voice, I realized that you prepared something else. Something that… more dangerous than all of those plans I and Charmillion have done before."

"So that's what you see, huh?" Shaddyzomb finally said, "Alright, young lady, do you have some piece of mind to share with me?"

Piceshia nodded, then smirked, "The Final is near."

Makoto's POV

After we received our report cards from our homeroom teacher, I, Usagi and Rei went home to prepare anything for our summer vacation here. However, this is the first time I and my fellow Inner Senshi had our summer vacation in Misora.

Usagi had a plan to stay at Doremi's house (again), so I warned her to be careful this time. I mean, I knew that what happened between her and Doremi in the last time she stayed there before that incident was just a misunderstanding, but I just wanted her to be more sensitive so she wouldn't ever seem like want to stand out there.

"Okay, I think I did seem like I want to be cared by them in that time," she sighed, "Maybe that's because I miss my family so much, and they're just like my family."

"Even so, don't be carried away just because of that," I warned, "However, they're her family and not yours."

"I know."

"Anyways, should we also stay at our own counterparts' house now, like the others?" asked Rei, "You know that Minako-chan still stays at Hazuki-chan's house now. Ami-chan also still wants to stay at Ai-chan's house."

"Well, I think it's a good idea," I replied, "I mean, in my case, there's something I'll do with Momo-chan tomorrow. I'll bake a cake with her, and probably, she'll buy the cake ingredients today. Isn't it better if I can accompany her to buy those ingredients and stay at her house from today?"

"You can easily say that because both you and Momo-chan like baking, but what about me?" Rei gazed at me, "Onpu-chan is a public figure, and I seem like her opposite."

"Oh, come on, Rei-chan. That's why, you need to stay at her house. When you stay at her house, you'll find out the similarities between you and her, which can strengthen your friendship and help her get her Feather Diamond," I explained as I put some of my clothes in a large bag, "At least, that's what we can do for now, to support them."

"You're right," the black haired girl immediately walked to her closet, "We should help them as much as we can."

About an hour later, we walked out from our house and locked the front door, went to our own counterparts' house.

When I arrived at Momoko's house, she quickly asked me to walk into her room. We then talked about the cake which we would make tomorrow as I put my luggage there.

"So, have you already buy the cake ingredients for tomorrow?" I asked, "We should prepare it, right?"

"Well, I think it will be better if we buy the ingredients together, but before that, I want to have a personal talk with you," replied Momoko, "Can we?"

"Oh, sure. We just need to make sure that we'll still have time to buy those ingredients," I agreed, "Anyways, Momo-chan, do you have another hobby beside baking sweets or playing your guitar?"

"Hmm, I'm not really sure," replied her, "Actually, I like to do so many things, but for now, maybe you can say that my hobbies are just baking sweets and playing my guitar. What about you, Mako-chan?"

"Besides baking sweets, I also like gardening. I really love flowers," I explained, "There are too many amazing plants outside there, and for me, those plants are just interesting."

"I see."

After a short talk, we decided to go to the supermarket at the shopping district. Momoko explained that the one who ordered the cake, Tamaki Reika, had already told her about the details she wanted for the cake, and it was a non-calorie Cheesecake.

"Tamaki-san said that Erika-chan liked to eat Cheesecakes nowadays, and Tamaki-san was afraid if Erika-chan would get fat just because she ate too many Cheesecakes," she said while put some ingredients to our trolley, "Fortunately, I still remember about the recipes for the non-calorie Cheesecake, as we've ever sold it in Sweet House Maho-dou."

"That's great!" I commented, "Different with you, I just bake sweets for celebrations, and not for sale like you and your best friends did in Maho-dou several years ago."

"Oh, come on. Even though you didn't make it for sale, at least you like to bake sweets, and that's good enough for you," Momoko smiled, "At least, all of your families and friends like your handmade sweets, right?"

You're right, Momo-chan," I smiled back, "However, baking sweets is a great activity for us."

As we walked to the cashier, I thought for a few minutes before commented, "Even so, don't you think that it's so strange to have a Cheesecake as a… birthday cake? I mean, it will be difficult to put some candles on a Cheesecake."

"Well, I asked Tamaki-san about it right when she told me about the cake, and she just said that Erika-chan didn't want to have candles on her birthday cake."

"Really?"

Momoko nodded, "She said that Erika-chan had already prepare some special candles for her own birthday, which didn't need to be put on the cake."

"Oh, alright then," I finally understood. We then paid for the ingredients before returned to Momoko's house.

Normal POV

On the next day, Momoko and Makoto worked together to make the non-calorie Cheesecake for Erika and bring the mentioned sweets to Erika's house. Then, Momoko asked Makoto to go to her favorite spot at the beach to cool themselves down. Coincidentally, they met Onpu and Rei there.

"Onpu-chan, what are you doing here?" asked Momoko, "How can you know about my secret spot?"

"Well, I just want to tell Rei-chan about my first meeting with Majoruka here, when I moved to Misora at the first time," replied Onpu who then asked back, "Wait, so this is the secret spot that you visited with Hazuki-chan when you both got the idea of the ice cream cookies for the third patissier exam…"

"Yeah, this is my favorite spot here," Momoko smiled, "What a coincidence!"

"Anyways, why do you both come here now? Have you both already deliver Erika-chan's birthday cake?" asked Onpu to both Momoko and Makoto.

"We've already bring it to Erika-chan's house," the blond girl explained, "and we decided to come here to cool ourselves down, because the weather is so hot this summer."

"I see," Onpu giggled, "Then, let's we cool ourselves down together here."

Just when four of them were going to sit down onto the beach sand, an unknown creature suddenly tried to bind them with four long chains, but fortunately, all of them could dodge those chains quickly.

"I hate to say this, but seems like… it's not a good time for us to cool down," said Rei, "Shaddyzomb tried to attack us."

"Whoa, calm down. I'm not Shaddyzomb," replied someone who appeared right after she pulled back her four long chains, "I'm Chainelle, and I come here now to take your Rose Crystals."

"Nice introduction from you, Chainelle, but we won't ever give our Rose Crystals to you," commented Momoko as she glared at the demonic zombie sharply, "Onpu-chan, Mako-chan, Rei-chan, let's we transform!"

The mentioned girls nodded, then they transformed.

Onpu's transformation sequence: She hold her Senshi Tap with her right hand and swung her left hand on it, made some small purple fireballs appeared around her body. She then pointed her Senshi Tap forward, under the small fireballs, and then swung it around and made it change to be a purple fire ring which appeared under the small fireballs – the fire ring was larger than the circle of the small fireballs. Both of the fire ring and the circle of the small fireballs then expanded its height while Onpu crossed her arms, covered her body, and when both of the fire circles disappeared, it revealed her gloves, her costume which was a leotards with purple skirt with a piece of short red ribbon behind it and purple collar with red bow ties, along with her high heels, a necklace with purple ribbon and yellow round pendant, a pair of yellow small earrings, a purple ribbon on her untied hair and a tiara. Her crystal was on her golden tiara.

Momoko's transformation sequence: She hold her Senshi Tap with her right hand and raised it to the sky, made it change to be a yellow bright light which covered all parts of her body, and when the bright light disappeared, it revealed her gloves, her costume which was a leotards with yellow skirt with a piece of short bright green ribbon behind it and yellow collar with bright green bow ties, along with her boots, a necklace with yellow ribbon and yellow star shaped pendant, a pair of yellow star shaped earrings and a tiara. Her crystal was on her golden tiara.

"Witchi Senshi Onpuchii!"

"Witchi Senshi Momokochii!"

As they finished their transformations, Onpu and Momoko quickly attacked Chainelle.

"Exotic Fire Beams!"

"Supreme Lightning Bullet!"

Both Rei and Makoto also launched their attacks directly to the demonic zombie, but then she swung one of her chain and destroyed the attacks with it.

"Oh, I think your attacks will be stronger than these," said Chainelle as she pretended to yawn, "I don't think that I'm much stronger than Acne and Voice though…"

Chainelle then swung one of her chain once again. This time, she used it to whip the four girls, caused them to fall onto the ground and scream in pain.

She laughed cunningly, "How weak you are! I don't think that you deserve to have those Rose Crystals. You can't use it properly to attack me anyway."

"Shut… up…" said Onpu difficultly as she slowly stood up, "I… won't ever… give up from you!"

"Me too!" added Momoko who also tried to stood up, even though most of the parts of her body were bleeding like the other three girls there, "We won't ever lose to you!"

"We also will keep protecting them," Rei continued, "We won't ever let you take those Rose Crystals away from them!"

"Oh, I'm so scare," teased Chainelle. She smirked, "How dare you say it with those wounds all over your body."

"So what? These wounds are the proof that we won't ever give up from you… stupid chainy demonic zombie!" shouted Makoto.

Unfortunately, Shaddyzomb came there and attacked four of them with the dark version of their own attacks until they fell again.

"Wow! Good job, Chain. I'm impressed," praised Shaddyzomb, "You beat them up battered."

"Thanks for your compliment, but you know that our mission isn't over yet. We should get their Rose Crystals," replied Chainelle as she shifted her attention to Onpu and Momoko who became weaker there. She then walked to them with Shaddyzomb.

"Onpu-chan… don't give up…" exclaimed Rei with difficulty, "Don't let them… take your Rose Crystal away…"

"You too… Momo-chan," added Makoto, "Even though they beat us up like this, don't let them… do what they want…"

Hearing what their counterparts said, Onpu and Momoko whispered their own counterpart's name,

"Rei-chan…"

"Mako-chan…"

Like a miracle, two sparkling items suddenly appeared in front of Onpu and Momoko and healed the four girls' wounds. Its bright light forced both Shaddyzomb and Chainelle to step back. Onpu and Momoko then realized that those items were their Feather Diamonds, so they didn't hesitate to take each of them and put it into their own Senshi Tap, regained their powers.

With that, Onpu, Momoko, Rei and Makoto stood up, got ready to attack both Shaddyzomb and Chainelle in front of them.

"Exotic Fire Beams!"

"Supreme Lightning Bullet!"

Once again, Chainelle tried to destroy the attacks by swinging one of her chain, but this time, it was her chain which was broken.

"My chain!" shouted her in disbelief, "Alright, I still have three chains here."

This time, she tried to attack them with her remaining chains, but then Onpu and Momoko launched their defensive attacks.

"Circle Fire Burst!"

"Tight Net of Thunder!"

Rei's POV

Finally, Chainelle's remaining chains were destroyed by Onpu and Momoko's defensive attacks.

"You destroy all of them?!" Chainelle gritted her teeth, "What's with those sparkling items?! I almost win from you all though…"

Just then, Shaddyzomb launched her attacks to us, but unexpectedly, she also attacked Chainelle there, right in front of us.

I and Makoto could dodge her attacks while Onpu and Momoko used their defensive attacks once again, but Chainelle couldn't manage to escape from Shaddyzomb's attack and fell onto the sand land.

"Shad… what are you doing?" said her, "Don't you want to prove that…"

"You know that you're useless without your chains, right? I just want to make sure that the remaining member of the Demonic Zombies aren't useless, so… I don't have choice but to kill you," cut Shaddyzomb, "I'm sorry, Chain."

"You…"

"Oh, don't worry, Chain. Even though I kill you now, I'll always appreciate your contribution for our mission," added the shadowy demonic zombie before she summoned a sword and stabbed Chainelle with it, "Goodbye, my friend."

We just could stare at the scene in horror. Shaddyzomb must be a sadistic demonic zombie, as she even killed her own friend this time.

After Chainelle's body disappeared, Shaddyzomb turned her attention to us and said, "Don't worry. I won't ever take over your Rose Crystals right now, because I just want to deliver a message from Lady Piceshia for you and your other friends."

"Piceshia?" asked Onpu, "What did she say?"

"She challenged the main couple from all of you to have a duel with her and Prince Charmillion at the hill near the flower garden tomorrow," explained her, "Just both of them."

"Main couple? Does she refer to Doremi-chan and Kotake-kun?" Momoko guessed.

"Well, she just said that you would find out easily about the couple that she meant," Shaddyzomb shrugged before she jumped away, left the secret spot at the beach, "Alright then, see you later."
