LAUREN'S POV
I knew that I should've stayed inside tonight, but I was having a craving for Dairy Queen. Specially their brownie batter blizzard-large size too! Ugh, I had my choco-crazy really bad this time…
I didn't know that I was being followed, and I was stupid enough to actually walk alone on the road with two blizzards in my hands, already done with one of them. I stopped walking when I heard a branch crack beside me. I froze when I turned around and saw Franklin staring at me.
"You're weird," I boldly said. "This is stalking."
"It's a coincidence that I saw you at that ice cream place-"
"Why would you even be there? They don't make blood ice cream there."
Franklin smiled at me and stepped closer as I stepped back. "You're a lovely creature, did you know that? Such beautiful skin."
"That's super creepy, Franklin. I don't feel that way about you."
"I don't understand."
"I'm sorry, but I know what kind of person you really are and I could never…"
"I can change," he told me passionately.
I shook my head furiously as I knew that this wasn't working out so well so my big mouth blurted out, "I'm in love with someone else!"
"Who?!" Franklin asked furiously. "I'll kill him if I have to."
"We can never be together," I said awkwardly.
I didn't know what else to say to him as I wanted to get away from him as fast as possible. This guy is crazier than I am.
"We belong together," he countered. "We will be together."
"No, we won't."
"Oh, yes, we will," he chuckled in amusement as if we were joking with each other...but I knew that we weren't.
I backed away from him. "Stay away from me."
"We will be together. I'll kill all of your little friends if I have to. They'll drop like flies."
I shook my head, a little afraid of this vampire right now. Nothing compared to the TV show version. "I think that you should leave right now."
"No matter what you do, we'll be together. Forever."
I scoffed. "I highly doubt that. I have a feeling like a very hot blonde man will shoot your fucking head off actually."
Franklin suddenly grabbed my wrist, pulling me towards him. That is going to bruise badly in the morning. I looked into his eyes which I knew that they would haunt me for the rest of my entire life.
"Please," I whimpered as his grip tightened on my wrist. "Let me go."
"I can't do that I'm afraid, Lauren Merlotte."
Jessica was frantic as she dragged the body inside of the house, grunting a little as his pants got caught on something by the door. She ripped the pant leg as she used most of her strength, pulling him towards their resting place. She sighed heavily as she slammed the door shut, knowing that no one was home.
"Shit!" She cursed loudly as she covered her nose. "Ugh!"
The smell of death was more disgusting than she had thought it would be. She rolled his body towards the resting place. As she picked up the rotting corpse of the trucker and opening the door, Bill came in through the door. He stopped in his tracks as the sight of his progeny and a dead body.
He slammed the door closed and demanded, "What the hell did you do, Jessica?"
"Nothing. I was feeding and got carried away. I thought that he would be okay."
Bill bent down when she put the body on the ground, he examined the blood over the man's mouth. "You shared your blood with him, why?"
"Because I thought that maybe turning him would bring him back."
"Jessica!" He scolded furiously. "You can't do these things willy nilly. You must ask permission first especially from your Sheriff which is Eric…"
"Well, how the hell am I supposed to know that," Jessica retorted. "No one tells me anything!"
Bill sighed heavily. "We can't tell anyone about this, you know?"
"What would happen if Eric found out?"
"There would a trial and serious consequences for the both of us," Bill informed her.
"Well, what are we gonna do now?"
Bill stood up and told her, "I'll get the chainsaw and we're going to cut his body up into pieces and hide them far and wide somewhere. The woods most likely or a fresh grave in the cemetery."
Bill put his hands under the dead trucker's armpits and said to Jessica, "Grab his legs now."
Jessica sighed heavily and grabbed his legs as they went to the dining, dumping his body on top of the table which luckily had a tablecloth. "Well, I'll get you a new tablecloth for Christmas, Bill."
Sookie was heaving a nice day even the customers at Merlotte's were nice too. She was serving a customer when a tall muscular man with tattoos all over his bare chest, and long brown hair tied in a braid came barging through the door, his eyes red like blood as he surveyed the scene. He was like a giant compared to the rest of them. Sookie had a feeling that he was here to cause trouble.
"Where is Jane Stackhouse?!" the stranger demanded to know, his voice angry and full of rage.
"Who are you," Sookie asked politely.
"I don't have to answer to you mortals," he told her with a hint of disgust. "Now I command you to tell me where she is."
"In case, you haven't forgotten you are in my world now so I don't have to tell you anything that I don't want to tell you. I mean I could, but why would I since you came in here acting like you own everything which you don't."
"Tell me."
"Who are you?"
"I am Argonot, the Guardian of Fire and you will tell me where Jane Stackhouse is."
"Why? What happened?"
"I hate her."
Sookie raised an eyebrow and stared curiously at him. "That's it."
"Yes. I hate her and that tall blonde one. Her husband."
Sookie scoffed. "Eric is not her husband."
"He told me differently."
Sookie sighed and rubbed her eyes, staring at him. "Well, why do you hate them?"
Suddenly, he slammed his fists into a table, smashing it to bits as the bottles spilled everywhere around them. Sookie looked up angrily at Argonot who was starting to be a real pain in her ass.
"I will make not just you, but EVERYONE in this place suffer if I do not have them," he warned her furiously, stabbing a finger in her chest. Everyone gasped as they saw his hands turn into bright orange and yellow flames, his eyes seemed to have the flames in them as well. "Where are Jane and Eric?"
THREE HOURS EARLIER
Jane eyed Eric's moves as he moved his car along the board game, pulling out two hundred dollar monopoly money as he growled. "Here are your damn taxes, you cruel woman."
"Thank you for your money," she proudly proclaimed.
"This doesn't make you a conqueror, Whirlwind. I will defeat you," Eric replied as he moved the dice to her side of the board game which was called "Monopoly"
Pam came into Fangtasia, groaning at the sight of them. "Are you two still at it with that game? It's been five hours."
"Well, it all started when Eric said that he was smarter than me."
"Come on, Blondie give it up. He beat you at Checkers, Chess, that game about life or something-"
"I get it," Jane huffed. "He's good, but I am better. Besides, no one wins at the Game of Life."
Eric smirked and shrugged. "No, but it does meant that I will have a better life than you."
Jane rolled her eyes. "Over my dead body will I let that happen, you shit. I will win at Monopoly."
"I actually have a business that flows with money daily and you do not so this is my game."
Pam shook her head "Whatever, but my money's on Eric anyways there is some human named Matt outside. He requests an audience with Jane immediately."
Jane waved her hand dismissively at her. "Yeah, yeah, sure I guess so just after I'm done."
"Fine. Not like I care anyways."
When Pam leaves them alone, Eric teases, "Let's make the stakes higher."
"Okay, I'll bite."
Eric smirked. "You let me kiss you."
"No way in hell," she immediately responded.
Eric grabbed her hand and caressed her knuckles. "Come on...what have you got to lose with me?"
"Everything apparently," she joked. "Even my lands right now. If I say yes, then it will like I'm selling my gorgeous body to you."
"I don't see the problem in that."
"I'm not a prostitute."
"I would pay a lot for you, but then I would you want me to fuck you instead of pretending that you do if I'm being honest," Eric taunted her.
"Asshole," she mouthed to him then smiled as she rolled the dice.
"If you win then I'll have sex with you," Eric said.
She scoffed. "Oh, please. I'm not an idiot, Eric, I know of your manipulative ways."
Eric smiled knowingly at her as he watched her rolled the dice. "How long should we make him wait?"
She shrugged, but then a wide mischievous smirk came onto her face as she looked up at him beneath her dark lashes. "Awhile perhaps."
Eric moaned with delight. "Oh, how you love to toy me, my love."
Jane rolled her eyes and screamed with joy as she got a card that read she was able to send a player to jail. "TIME TO GO TO THE SLAMMER, VIKING!"
He growled lowly. "I'm starting to hate this game."
TWO HOURS LATER
"Aw, don't be such a loser," Eric advised with a victorious smirk. "It's not that attractive."
"I hate you."
"You love me."
Jane scoffed and stood up from her chair. "Not even close."
She smiled as she walked to the door opening it to reveal a teenager with blonde curly hair. "Yes, how can I help you?"
"The Guardian of Fire requests your presence," he told her, frustration in her voice. "Come with me immediately. He doesn't like to be kept waiting."
Jane shook her head, yawning, "Nah, I'm just too tired right now. Come back tomorrow. Okay, bye!"
"He'll be angry and you won't like it when gets angry."
"What is he? The Hulk?" Jane joked. "No, seriously, tomorrow. I am tired and I have to kiss a Viking. Sadly, we can't have sex unless I want him to die again on me-"
"Why would this matter to me," Matt inquired rudely.
Jane scowled at him. "I don't know, making conversation here. God, get that stick out of your asshole. Anyways, leave and go tell your master what my answer is."
Matt had a furious look on his face. "He is not my master."
"Yes, he is. You're his fuckboy-let's face the facts."
"Well, you're a fangerbanger-"
A gust of air whooshed beside Jane as she stared coldly at Matt. Eric wrapped his hand around Matt's neck., snarling in his face, "Go ahead. Finish that sentence and see what happens next."
"Eric," Jane warned. "He isn't worth it. Let him go and send the message to that fire god."
After a moment of nothing, but silence except with the sound of gurgling from Matt of course, Eric let him go. Matt fell to the ground and rubbed his throat, looking angrily at them. Jane scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Get ass out of here already before I bring down heaven and hell on you for insulting the Master," Jane proclaimed.
Maty disappeared into white mist as Eric eyed her curiously. They walked back to Fangtasia together as Eric chuckled, "Nice job creating fear in him. I've taught you well. I'm so proud of you."
Jane scoffed. "I didn't learn anything from you except for learning not to trust anything you say and know how to lie to people. If I were a ruler then I would be a dictator or someone with a lot of power and knows how to drive fear into everyone's hearts. I'm not good at sharing, but yup, that's the dream."
"I'm not surprised."
Eric winked at her and soon they started to play another game. They were laughing at each other when the front door was taken off its hinges as it was slammed opened. They stared impassively as a tall muscular man with tattoos covering his bare chest came storming into the place. Jane and Eric gave each other a look.
"How dare you summon me like this?!"
"The Guardian of Fire, I presume. I'm allowed to do whatever the hell I want to do which means summoning you so do not question me," Jane told him sternly and then showed him the board game. "Now how about a game of Sorry."
"I had to be sorry for hurting Jane's feelings apparently," Eric explained.
Suddenly, the fire god threw a ball of fire at the board game, everything turned into bright and high flames. Jane threw her chair back as she went to the sink, filling up the pitcher with water and threw it onto the flames, extinguishing them.
Jane huffed angrily, throwing the pitcher aside as she strode up to him, getting in his face. "I should kill you for that."
"I don't understand why Lucas' worships of you-why any of them think of you as our ruler," he told her as Pam sped into Fangtasia, her fangs out. "You are not strong enough, you are weak. I only follow the strong."
"Is it because I'm a woman-"
"You're powerless. Your power is restrained. Therefore, you are weak."
"You don't get it, do you? This isn't Game of Thrones, if my power is let out then the world will end. If I let it out just for a second then all hell will break loose and we will all be fucked. Now is that what you want?! No?! I didn't think so! So next time you decide to come in here all high and mighty then I will make you Pam's slave."
"How dare you-"
"I think I like the sound of that," Pam purred, eyein the man. "Now who is this?"
"Argonot, Guardian of Fire. You will not speak to me so familiarly-"
"Slave," Jane sang. "Remember, I'll make you a slave."
"Chain and whips do excite me," Pam whispered in excitement to them.
Argonot suddenly got in Jane's face and threatened, "I will destroy you."
"Bullshit," Jane called him out. "If you were going to do that then you would've already done it."
He growled at her and towered over her. "Now it's a promise. I always keep my promises."
Jane studied him for a moment with suspicion as she raised an elegant eyebrow. She smiled and then Argonot suddenly disappeared.
"Where did he go?" Eric asked.
Jane shrugged with a shocked look on her face. "I honestly didn't know. I concentrated hard on where i wished he would go and well...I guess it worked. Victor said that I could still use my powers though they won't be as strong, they'll still do their work. All I have to do is actually try."
Eric nodded and came closer to her. "Interesting. Where did you send him?"
"I don't know. There were too many places so he's probably not far since the last place I thought of was the 7-11 and I really wanted a cherry and blue raspberry slurpee."
Eric looked into her eyes. "You have a sick mind."
"No sicker than you most likely," she countered.
Eric suddenly stopped smiling and looked to the side. "Alcide is here."
The door slammed opened as Alcide came barging in with an unconscious Lauren. Jane ran to her as fast as she could, lightly touching her blood-stained hair. "Oh my god, w-what happened?"
"Don't know. Found her like this?' Alcide answered her.
He set her down gently onto a couch, staring intensely down at Lauren. Jane held her hand tightened. "How did you come to find her?"
Alcide shook his head. "I don't know. I just...I felt something."
Jane smiled at him and whispered, "True love."
He scoffed. "I don't believe in that crap."
"No, but there is a reason we're here."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing," Eric interrupted him. "She means that Lauren and you are probably meant to be or something. Fate."
"Fate," Alcide echoed as he looked down at Lauren. "I'll get something to clean her up with."
Jane nodded and watched as Alcide left them alone. "Franklin did this. She was scared of him because she knew what kind of person he was. He's a psychopath, Eric. He did this to her. Idiot!"
Jane glared down at Lauren, gripping her hand to the point where her knuckles were turning white. "She knows how dangerous everything becomes now after Maryann...why?"
Eric touched her shoulder as a tear slid down her face. "We'll fix this."
"He won't stop. She warned us about him and we didn't do anything. He's going to do worse things to her now."
Eric bent down and held her chin in his hand. "No, he won't. I promise you that I won't let him touch her. She'll be safe here."
"He's working for Russell," she confessed to him. "He's here because of me now, not Bill...but I think he wants Bill too probably."
He kissed her forehead. "I'll kill him before he does."
Jane held her best friend's hand tightly and closed her eyes, squeezing them tight even as she focused on her powers which were extremely hard to find. She searched for some kind of power, any power that would help her friend. Jane saw nothing for a moment until there was a whisper inside of her head.
Help me.
Jane gasped and moved away from Lauren as she awoke, grunting in pain. Jane hugged her tightly.
"What happened?"
Lauren shuddered. "How the fuck am I supposed to know?! I can't remember shit!"
