I turned around just in time to see Raburesu's claw slice open Monks's chest, the trail of blood still floating in the air, like slow motion. Everything was quiet until his body hit the floor and Raburesu's laughter filling the silence. I felt my heart pound in my chest… This can't be real… No way… He's fine. I'm fine. It's not blood. Even if I tell myself it's not there, how can I believe that when I can feel the warmth of blood on my skin?!

"MONK! No no no! Monk!" Ayako screamed, running over to Monk's side. She looked at the wound and then back to John," What do I do?! What do I do?! He's bleeding a lot!"

"Calm down, Ayako." John comforted her, taking a look at the wound. He nodded, taking off his jacket, and putting it around Monk's body tightly tying it there," The wound isn't deep, so he will be just fine. Although, he's going to be sore when he wakes up.

Ayako nodded, keeping her eyes on him. I let out air that I didn't know I was holding in. I would have smiled then, but we have bigger problems at the moment. Raburesu glared at us, and then she looked at me," YOU! You're the cause of this! If you weren't here, then everything would be perfect! JUST DIE!"

Naru stepped forwards, and shielded me," John, do the incantation now. She's at her limit."

John nodded and began to search in the bible for the incantation, when Raburesu began to scream louder," ALL YOUR FAULT ALL YOUR FAULT! ALLYOURFAULTALLYOURFAULTALLYOURFAULT!" she wailed, my ears pierced by the shrill scream.

John looked up at Raburesu, and sprayed holy water from a small vile all over her. Her scream only became louder as the water burned into her skin creating red blisters everywhere on her," I command thee, lost soul wandering in darkness, to give up the name of sin and to brand yourself in our Lord's holy name." she fell down, scratching at her scalp, blood coming from her head as she cried out, but John only said more," I command thee, demon, release the grudge you carry, and give yourself to our lord. From the Father-!"

She began crawling towards us, her hands screeching across the floorboards," No…"

"To the Son…"

"NOOO! I'm not done yet! I will kill you! I will have my revenge!" I noticed how she began to disappear slowly, from her ankles, now her torso. I looked up at Naru, who seemed to understand my question luckily," It's a purification process. She's not alive, and she carries the grudge of revenge. This is the only way."

But… She still wants revenge doesn't she? Why? Why can't she understand what really happened?

"To the Holy Spirit! AMEN!" John yelled, slamming the cross down onto her forehead. She quieted down after a while and fell down, her body turning to ash slowly… Raburesu was no more.

"She doesn't know…" I put my hand to my mouth realizing my voice had returned. I guess I got it back because she was defeated! YES! I grinned to myself as John hugged me," It's nice having you back, Mai!"

I smiled hugging back," It's really nice to be back, John… But…"

I began walking towards Raburesu when John pulled me back, "Mai…"

"It's fine. I really need to say something to her." As scary as it is to approach someone who just tried to kill, you it's something I understood perfectly when Naru was with Raburesu herself.

I knelt down beside her as her body began disappearing,"… He really did love you Risa."

"Why… You… You don't understand… At all… My pain…" she whimpered, my heart almost tearing in two… I touched her hand and smiled," Risa. Did you know that the woman he was helping out was only drunk? He was helping her out, he really did love you. And I'm sure he does now."

"But… I killed…Him…"

I shook my head," No. He knows why you did it. And he's waiting for you on the other side, waiting to see you again. He forgives you."

I saw a tear fall down her face, and a smile," Really… I want to tell him… I love him… Thank you. Thank you… So much…" as her whole body then disappeared into the wind with the mansion, I felt a soft hand on my shoulder, and knew it was Risa,

'Thank you… Taniyama Mai. I wish you luck in your love life to come.'

Then she was gone. I smiled, looking up at the sky. She's happy, I can feel it.

"Mai… What did you say to her?" John asked, his eyebrow raised slightly," The curse here seems to have lightened ever since you spoke with her."

I gave a slight smile," Just something I think she needed to hear…"

After that incident, Yasu returned to his senses and gave a huge apology to me, and still says sorry every time I see him. I really hope he never finds out who stabbed him… But other than that, we all returned home. Monk is now in the hospital, having fun with the nurses, while Ayako is probably trying to kill him again. But, with Lisanna… I haven't seen her since. I know I'll see her again, knowing her, but I wish I could've been able to say goodbye, she helped me a lot during the time I was trapped.

"Check!" I said with a giggle as John groaned," Aww, come on! How do I keep losing?"

Because before you move a piece, you stare at it for a ridiculous amount of time! I laughed to myself as we began again. Len was taking care of some work, when Naru walked over to us looking at the board," Chess?"

"Yeah. Mai is really good though! She beat me almost five times!" John whined, getting up," I'm going to go get some water, Mai?"

"Nope! I'm good, thanks!"

As John left the room, Naru stared down at me, once again giving me that smug look that I really had missed during the time," W-what?" I asked quietly, my face getting redder as he stared," Do you have a staring problem?" Oh, really Mai?! A STARING PROBLEM! Is that ALL you could come up with! I mentally hit myself.

"No… I just see your hair is back to normal." I nodded, although I was surprised that he noticed. I really enjoy my natural hair color more than anything," Yeah, keeping it the other way brought back that memory, and I like my hair like this."

"It looks better that way. It suits you." He said, his eyes matching with mine. My heart began to pound, my chest tightening as he leaned closer… Lisanna's words echoing in my head, 'Mai… You know what true love is?'

He leaned over to my ear, his warm breath hitting me by surprise," Mai…" I became lost in his grey eyes, feeling every drop of blood in my body rise to my face. I probably look like a freshly grown and ripe tomato!

"W-w-what?!"

"Checkmate."

He leaned back and walked away just like that… Wait, what? I looked down at the board and gasped," NARU YOU BIG JERK! YOU TRICKED ME!"

He had somehow won the game with his black King piece! THAT WAS SO CHEATING!

John walked back into the room and smiled at the bored," I won! Yes!"

"Wait- no! Naru did- NARU!" I growled at him angrily," That was cheating!"

"Mai."

"What?!"

"You're going to lose your voice again if you keep yelling like that. Also, using your opponent against themselves is not cheating. It's a simple trick used in most games."

I really wish I could sick Ayako on him!

"However way you look at it that is STILL cheating! Jerk Naru!" I blushed walking out of the room hearing a slight chuckle from Len.

Some things never change really, but that's not always a bad thing. I jumped hearing Naru's voice," Tea, Mai…"

I huffed beginning to make the tea... FORGET IT! I lied! Some things NEED to change!
