Chapter 38

A/N: Before you read any of this, just let me tell you this: I am not an Akimi writer, I am a Yuushi writer.

Shimada Minami

I have a date with Akihisa~ Minami happily thought as he walked into his house with his little sister, happily humming as he took off his shoes. He waved off his sister's questions about why he was in such a good mood, only giving her a soft smile as he continued towards his room. That day, at school, he had mustered up all of his courage to ask Akihisa out and she had accepted it. Of course, it seemed like it took Hideyoshi's help to get her to accept it, but still... Akihisa had agreed to go on a date with him!

With how Akihisa had been focusing so much on Hideyoshi, Minami had been afraid that she was too transfixed on Hideyoshi to accept her proposal. But she hadn't; Akihisa had really agreed to go on a date with him! He could barely contain his excitement, and was only able to contain it when he reminded himself of why he had asked Akihisa to on a date and the true purpose of the date.

Minami had asked her out because she was obviously falling for Hideyoshi more and more as they spent more time together during their shared club activities. So much, that Akihisa hadn't even noticed him when she had walked past him just the other day. But that was all going to change, Minami was going to win her back from Hideyoshi. It should be fairly easy since it obviously seemed like Hideyoshi wasn't interested in Akihisa in that way; he had helped Minami to persuade her to accept, after all. If the hideyoshi was interested in her, he wouldn't have helped him, right?

Of course it's right, Minami had nothing to fear. Hideyoshi was on her side regardless of Akihisa liking him, and of course, the two of them had been guys before all of this happened, and how would Hideyoshi fall in love with another guy? Well, he probably shouldn't be thinking that since Miharu fell in love with him when he was still a girl...

Speaking of Miharu, the other day... Minami had truly seen Miharu as just a friend, not some crazy, fanatical lesbian. He had liked that side of her; maybe she would finally fall in love with a guy if this kept up... Wait, he's a guy... she is in love with a guy... But none of that mattered at the moment; Miharu had been a good friend and had given him some very important advice. And now, because of her, he had been able to ask Akihisa out on a date and now had the chance to pick out his outfit for the-

His outfit.

His... outfit...

HIS OUTFIT!?

Minami ran to his closet, flinging it open to view all of his clothes. Every single last one of them was girls' clothing, and although he still had the same sizes (except for maybe, you know, the chest... surely he was at least one centimeter smaller... right? Right!?), he is a boy who was going on a date with a girl. So... what should he wear?

Should he go ahead and wear one of his cute outfits that he had gotten just for such an occasion, or should he go and buy a new much more masculine outfit for the upcoming date? But he still looked like a girl, so he would look perfectly fine in his current outfits, right? But no, he was going on a date with a girl so he needed something more masculine to identify him as a boy so the two of them wouldn't look like lesbians!

That meant...

He would need to go shopping after school Saturday... he hoped he had enough money...

Sunday

In the end, Minami had brought a rather dark outfit that had a hoody and a pair of jeans included in it. The hoody was suppose to hide his feminine features a little, if what the store-clerk had told him was correct. She also had tried persuading him out of his bow, but how could he just replace his most iconic feature with a simple hairband!? He probably should have replaced it... the bow does make him seem like a girl and pretty much negates the masculinity that his outfit provided him with...

Starting to doubt the bow, his hands went up to undo it. Minami had brought the simple hairband with him, so he would just replace the bow with it. It would make things seem more normal when Akihisa joined him, after all... right? Of course it's ri-

"Minami!" The voice came just as he was about to undo his bow, a pair of hands grabbing ahold of his wrist as he turned to look at the girl who had just suddenly rushed up to him. Minami instantly recognized her - how could he not recognize his love interest? "What are you doing to your bow? You're not planning on taking it out, are you? Don't!"

"Aki..." Her name came out in a low voice, the girl instantly calming herself down as a blush settled across her face. She quickly backed off of him, but that wasn't why he had practically breathed her name. It was because of her concern for his iconic bow... and that concern sent a blush across his cheeks. However, his focus was quickly drawn to how she was dressed. "W-what are you wearing?"

Akihisa blinked and then looked down at herself. Akihisa's own outfit was a white button-up shirt with a dark blue jacket over it along with matching pants that were slightly baggy. Not only that, but her hair was also pulled up into a high-ponytail reminiscence of a samurai's in an anime. "Yuuji helped me to pick it out, it's suppose to make me look more like a boy since we thought you would still dress up as a girl." She gave Minami a small smile, her eyes glancing across his outfit.

She looked more like a boy than Minami, the actual boy (this time), did. He only continued to look in silence, wishing that he had just went ahead and worn one of his own outfits instead of going out to buy a new one. But that didn't matter, he'd just take the hoody off and leave on his two shirts - a grey T-shirt over a white, long-sleeved undershirt. "I'm going to take my hoody off, Aki, I'll be right back." Minami told her before running off to the bathroom, not giving the girl any time for a response.

Minami tied the hoody around his waist, hoping that with it off he would look more like a girl so people wouldn't be thinking of the two of them as lesbians. When he had finished, he went back to where Akihisa was waiting for him as she leaned against the wall. "How do I look?" Minami asked her, a blush coming upon his face.

Akihisa eyes looked over his clothing before focusing in on his eyes as she began to speak. "You look... nice, Minami. Your outfit is kind of boyish but the bow in your hair really sets off that you used to be a girl, but I don't think anyone would tell any difference since your chest is as flat as it was when you- ow, ow, ow! That hurts!"

As Akihisa cried out in pain, Minami was behind her, stretching her arm across her back. "What was that about my chest?" He asked her, a flicker of anger in his tone. "I'm a boy now, so of course my chest most definitely has to be smaller." He continued to stretch it a bit harder. "Right?"

"R-r-right! Your chest is definitely smaller than it w-was!" Akihisa cried out as she looked back at him. "N-now, c-can you please stop stretching my limb...? I-it's not suppose to bend like that this much! Please..!" Minami finally released her, allowing her to cradle her arm in her hand. "The rest of the date isn't going to be this violent, r-right?" She nervously asked.

Minami averted his eyes slightly, his hands going to clasp behind his back. "I-I'm sorry about that..." What was he doing? Attacking Akihisa like that... it's not like she enjoyed the pain...

Akihisa softly smiled at him, raising her hand to wave off his apology. "It's alright, it was my fault anyways. I'm sure that your chest got even smaller after you got turned into a boy."

Minami had to admit that hearing that his chest got smaller still angered him a little, but he had gotten used to having a guy's chest over the course of a few weeks so he was able to deal with it. Deciding to get off the topic of his chest, he moved on to another topic. "We should get going now, you haven't had lunch have you?" He asked her as he took her hand, blushing at the contact.

"Salt and sugar." Akihisa responded with, a strangely content expression on her face.

Minami blinked, looking at her strangely before deciding that he should get her some real food. "Do you have room for a meal? I know this really nice place down the street a ways." He told her, leaning forward.

Akihisa's eyes lit up as if that was one of the best things she had ever heard. "We're going out to eat?"

Minami smiled in response; a warm and happy smile. "Yeah."

They had conversed while they had eaten, and it was clear to Minami that Akihisa was genuinely enjoying the time she was spending with him, something that he felt quite happy about. After eating, they had headed to the park, Minami holding onto her hand with a blush on his face as he had led her. Now, here in the park, Minami was still holding Akihisa's hand, and to his delight, he could see that she had a blush on her face as well.

Minami didn't have any plan for winning Akihisa over instead of just... reminding her about him on their date. He hadn't been able to think of anything else that would win her back, so he was just hoping to allow her to enjoy the time she had with him to the fullest in hopes of something more.

"So, Aki," Minami began, drawing the girl's attention to him. "how do you like being a girl?" He turned her head to face him, an innocent smile forming on her face.

A smile of it's own appeared on Akihisa's face, and along with it, her blush grew deeper. "Well... it's a bit harder in some areas than being a guy... but in a few others it is easier... but I think I'd rather be a guy than a girl considering what I had to go through last week..." Her free hand immediately went to her stomach.

"Your period?" Minami asked, the smile staying on his face as he delighted himself with knowing that he wouldn't be having any more of those. But with Akihisa being a girl now, the same couldn't be said for her. "How did you manage it?" He had noticed Akihisa was feeling quite different a few days last week, but nevertheless, the girl had kept up with working with Hideyoshi.

"I-I'd rather not talk about it..." It was clear to him that Akihisa had bad memories of her first period, so he didn't press any further.

"So, anyway, Aki..." Minami began, wondering if he should really ask the question that was on his mind. He didn't really want to bring it up, but still, he was really wondering about it... "are you... really going to kiss Hideyoshi in the play?"

Akihisa didn't answer at first as her eyes focused back in on Minami's own, emotions being seen in them yet not being understood. Finally, Akihisa spoke up. "No... I think I'll just fake the kiss..." She looked away from him, her eyes staring off into the distance. "he'd probably rather have it with someone else..."

"What do you mean?" Minami asked, his curiosity perking up upon hearing Akihisa's sentence.

Akihisa's eyes widened as if she was surprised at herself for saying something like she just had. Her head quickly turned to face him, her free hand going up to wave off his curiosity. "I-it's nothing; nothing at all!" A nervous laugh followed that as she glanced over at the scenery. "T-the park looks really nice, does it not?"

Minami let his curiosity go, remembering when Hideyoshi had helped him to persuade Akihisa. His focus was instead drawn to the surrounding foliage by Akihisa's question, a smile forming on his face as he took in the tranquil sight. "Yes, it looks beautiful..." As he said this, his eyes were drawn to Akihisa.

"Hey, Aki..." He began, drawing her attention towards him. "we can go wherever you want to now since I've been leading the way since we started."

Akihisa smiled at her. "How about the arcade? We could have fun there! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do."

"That does sound fun, let's go there." Minami said, his hand clasping her hand tighter as his smile brightened.

"Y-yeah..." Akihisa muttered, her face redder as she took better hold of Minami's hand in return.

Evening

Much to his disappointment, it was now the end of their date. Akihisa had walked him home and even now was with him as they stood before his door. "Thanks for the time I was able to spend with you, Minami; I really had a fun time with you today." Akihisa told him, a big, happy smile on her face as she rubbed the back of her head.

"I did too, Aki..." Minami told her, a blush on his face as he stood in front of her with his hands clasped together in the front. "I'll see you tomorrow then..."

Would this date be enough to give him a chance to win her back? Would just reminding her of his presence be enough...? He wasn't sure... it didn't feel like it would be so easy... but what else could he do...?

"Yeah, tomorrow!" Akihisa told him, turning to leave as she waved goodbye.

"W-wait!" Minami suddenly called, reaching out with his hand to catch Akihisa's sleeve.

His heart beat was increasing, the blush growing redder.

"What is it, Minami?" Akihisa asked, looking down at his face in puzzlement.

He did it without thinking much about it, just raising himself up on his toes a little to meet her lips just like he had done all those months ago when he had given Akihisa his first kiss. "I... like you, Aki." He whispered to her after ending the kiss, quickly turning around and heading into his house. "Goodnight." He told her, glancing at Akihisa once more before shutting the door behind him.

A/N: Another, more important A/N after the extra.

Anyways, I'm going to stop telling you what the next chapter is going to be about so you will have little idea what to expect~

By the way, I hoe this 'date' was... satisfactory... there wasn't much actual date material, but I did what I could to try and make it... decent - I have never been on a date, so no experience in that. Actually, no experience in relationships (does online-games count?), and definitely no experience in incest.

Nothing more to say... for now.

After proofreading: "Doesn't it?" does sound better, but when you break it down it reads: "does not it?" which makes no sense. The correct way is really: "does it not."

You know, unless I'm unaware of a special grammar rule.

Anyways, Minami likes to kiss-and-run doesn't she/he?

Story Creation Room

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" The author asked as she took a sip from her coffee as she continued to type up the extra at almost 9:00 at night.

"Weren't you suppose to have this done before today?" Yuuko asked, a disguised boys-love manga in front of her on the table as she sat by her twin brother who was reading one of his shoujo manga.

"Requires inspiration and motivation to write, and unfortunately, there are distractions which I need to exert better self-control over." The author calmly relied to her twin sister.

"I'm not your twin sister." Yuuko immediately said, but she was other wise ignored by the others.

"So, distractions like playing Halo 4 and other distractions on the computer?" Hideyoshi asked as he turned a page.

"Oh, you play Halo?" Akihisa asked, standing up from his chair on the other end of the table.

"Let's keep all topics related to this story, or my Baka to Test stories, preferably. And with that said, what do you, Akihisa, think of the chapter?"

Akihisa blinked and looked at the laptop in front of him. "My date with Minami...?"

"Yes."

"Well... she - he - stole another kiss from me..." He put both of his hands on his head, looking up at the ceiling as he continued. "Why doesn't she - he - tell me when she - he - is going to kiss me? This is the second time!"

"What does Minami think of all of this?" The author asked, looking away from Akihisa and over at Minami who was on a different other side of the table. The girl didn't look up at her, seeming to be lost in her own world as a blush danced across her cheeks. "Well, I suppose she enjoyed having gotten to kiss you."

"So anyway," The author continued, now looking over at Yuuji and Shouko. "Since the two main couples have kissed, we just need to finish it up with Yuuji and Shouko kissing! Right, Yuuji-kun?" She innocently asked him.

Yuuji's face lit up with terror as he sat up off of the ground, about to say something but his cries were muffled by Shouko's hand. "She's right, since we're married it should only be natural that we kiss."

Yuuji was able to tear away from Shouko's hand for only one cry of, "we're not married!" before being electrocuted by her Taser.

"We didn't properly discussed it, but Yuuko-sama, how did you like kissing your broth-" The author was then suddenly hit over the head by a shoujo manga, falling out of her chair and down onto the ground.

"Sis... why did you throw my manga instead of your own?"

"Shut up, Hideyoshi."

A/N: Now then, if anyone is an experienced writer, I'm curious as to how this story is coming along. To me, the grammar, sequence-of-events, and keeping characters-in-character is decent enough, but is there any other faults or things that I could improve upon? I'm looking to better my writing style so that readers can enjoy the story better or, you know, just to make sure the story doesn't have any critical faults that could disrupt it or so. Or, you know (again), to just improve the story a little and/or to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Anyway, mostly I wonder about the plot-line. Is it clear? Is it progressing alright?

This is my first story that I have kept up so long and the first non-shot story I really intend on completing. So any advice or constructive criticism would be appreciated to those who may wish to spare a sentence or two.
