"Klaus Mikaelson is the biggest jerk in all of Mystic Falls High School. No. He is the biggest jerk in Mystic Falls. No. The biggest jerk in all of Virginia." Caroline said as she watched Katherine shove her school books into her locker.
Katherine rolled her eyes. "I thought that was Damon."
"No. Klaus has taken the title of biggest jerk in Virginia from Duosh Waffle Salvatore."
Katherine raised a brow as she gave one final shove to her books into the overstuffed locker before slamming the door closed. "That is impressive. What did Mikaelson do that toppled Damon off his King Jerk throne?"
Caroline tossed her ponytail and held up a finger. "Well, first of all he stole my book."
"Which book?" Katherine said as she leaned against the lockers and folded her arms across her chest.
"Make Out Paradise."
Katherine burst into laughter. "You actually brought that book to school?"
"Of course I brought it to school. I'm like in the middle of the best part, there is no way I was going to leave it at home when I have two hours of study hall today." Caroline said, her eyebrows pulling together in confusion as to why Katherine would even ask that.
"Don't you have school work to do?"
Caroline rolled her eyes and gave Katherine a duh look. "I am two weeks ahead in all my classes. So, no. I don't have school work to do."
"What the fuck is wrong with you? How the fuck are you two weeks ahead in all of your classes?" Katherine threw up her hands, as she shook her head in disbelief.
"Language Miss Gilbert." Mr. Saltzman said as he passed by the two cheerleaders, holding a stack of papers as he made his way to his classroom.
Katherine gave him a insincere smile and waved her fingers to let him know she had heard him. Alaric shook his head in exasperation and kept on going.
"The reason I am ahead in all of my classes is because unlike you, I have goals. And one of those goals is to be valedictorian. You don't make valedictorian by slacking off in your classes." Caroline said as she turned and started walking down the hall, Katherine pulled away from the locker and fell into step beside her.
"I have goals." Katherine said, totally offended that Caroline didn't think she had any.
"Not real ones."
"They are real."
Caroline stopped walking and put her hands on her hips as she faced Katherine. "Marrying rich men and then killing them for their money isn't a real goal."
Katherine stopped as well and glared at Caroline. "Becoming a black widow is a real goal. It is part of my ten year plan, which was listed in detail in my essay for English."
"Oh my God, I still can't believe you actually put that in your essay. What did Mr. Saltzman do when he read it?"
"Called in my parents for a conference." Katherine said as she rolled her eyes and started walking down the hall again.
"And?" Caroline asked as she moved with her.
"And what?"
"What did they think?"
Katherine shrugged. "It just reconfirmed that I am the bad twin."
"Ummm, you were confirmed as the bad twin when you basically curb stomped my Barbie Corvette. Which I am still super mad about, by the way." Caroline said as she pointed an accusing finger at Katherine.
"Caroline, we were five when that happened."
"Doesn't mean I can't still be mad about it."
Katherine made a face and was about to speak when their conversation was interrupted.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the Psychotic Bitch and Skipper." Damon said as he passed by the two cheerleaders, his ice blue eyes widening dramatically as he smirked at the two of them.
Katherine gave him the finger while Caroline glared at him. "Excuse me. If I am going to be a doll, it is going to be Barbie. Not Skipper."
"Not with that rack." Damon said as he glanced pointedly at her chest before sauntering off down the hall.
Caroline gasped in outrage as she looked down at her chest. "My breasts are not small."
Katherine pursed her lips as she looked over Caroline's less than impressive chest. "Yeah, they are."
Caroline's head flew up to glare at Katherine. "You're one to talk."
Katherine lifted her shoulder in a negligent shrug. "We are skinny bitches, Caroline. Skinny bitches do not have big boobs. Unless they have a boob job or they are Brazilian supermodels. Why do you think all my bras are padded?"
Caroline's blonde brows pulled together for a moment as she thought about that line of logic and then nodded in agreement.
"But whatever. Let's get back to Klaus." Katherine said as she started forward again, taking Caroline's arm and pulling her along with her.
"Right. Klaus." Caroline said with relish as she got warmed up for her rant. "So first he took my book Make Out Paradise."
"Yes, you already said that."
"Whatever. Shut up. So after he takes my book and sees the title, he said that I didn't have to read about making out when he was more than willing to make out with me. And that we could go make out right now, under the bleachers." Caroline said, incredulous that Klaus would even say such a thing.
"And what the fuck is wrong with an offer to make out with a hot guy?"
"Hello?! He made it sound like he was doing me a favor in offering to make out with me, implying that I am desperate because I am reading a book called Make Out Paradise." Caroline came to a stop and pulled her arm out of Katherines grasp and turned to face her. "I am the hottest girl in this school, I can make out with anyone at anytime. I have no shortage of hot guys to make out with. They would be lucky to make out with me."
"Bitch, please. I am the hottest girl in this school. You are like number three." Katherine said with a flip of her hair and a sneer on her lips.
"Who is number two?"
Katherine rolled her eyes. "My twin. Elena. Duh."
"That makes no sense. She is your identical twin, wouldn't she be tied with you as hottest girl in school, which neither of you are, by the way. It is me."
"You wish. And have you seen the way my sister dresses? Ugh. Obviously drops her down to number two. I may be the evil twin, but I am the more stylish one which makes me hotter."
Caroline shook her head and turned to keep walking down the hall.
"Whatever. Back to my point. One, I can make out with whoever I want to. And two, he asked me to make out under the bleachers. I mean, seriously? Only freshmen make out under the bleachers."
"Not only freshmen make out under the bleachers. I made out with a guy there last week."
"Oh. My. God. You made out with someone and you didn't tell me?" Caroline screeched as she took Katherine's shoulders and tried to shake her silly.
Katherine rolled her eyes and shrugged out of Caroline's grip. "I didn't tell you because it was only for like five minutes and it wasn't even that good."
Caroline made a face, on one hand she had a few make out sessions that she wish she could bleach from her memory, but on the other hand - "Who cares if it wasn't good. I am you BFFF. You don't keep something like that from your BFFF."
"Don't you mean BFF? And neither of you are the hottest girl in school. As if you two could actually compare to me." Rebekah said as she came to a stand still behind them. She was dressed in her cheer uniform as well, her blonde hair in a high ponytail tail with a big red bow. "And she's right you know, no one but freshmen bother with the bleachers."
Caroline turned and scowled at the blonde. "Eavesdrop much?"
"Considering that you are in the middle of the school hall and basically yelling - I wouldn't call that eavesdropping." Rebekah sneered.
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Whatever. And it's BFFF."
"What the bloody hell is BFFF?"
"Best fucking friend forever." Katherine supplied with a smirk.
Rebekah arched a brow. "Could you be anymore vulgar?" She asked rhetorically.
Caroline slapped a hand across Katherine's mouth before she could respond. "That wasn't a dare, Kat." Caroline turned her head to glare at Rebekah "Don't you have some place to be?"
Rebekah rolled her eyes before glaring right back at Caroline. "Same place you're going."
Caroline cheeks pinkened because she basically walked into that one. Glancing at Katherine, she could see the silent Haha, you just got owned in her dark brown eyes.
Going with her standard "Whatever." Caroline released her hand off of Katherine's mouth and turned on her heel to flounce off when she ran straight into a hard chest.
"You know, love, you don't have to throw yourself at me. I told you I was more than willing to help you relieve all those Make Out Paradise urges." Came the British accent that accompanied the large warm hands that rested on her bare shoulders to keep her from falling back.
"Really, Nik?" Rebekah asked, her voice tinged with disgust. Disgust as to the pick up line or the fact he was using it on Caroline, he wasn't sure. Given Rebekah's hate of Caroline and her distaste for anything having to do with her brothers and dating, it was a good bet that it was both.
"That was seriously lame. No wonder Care turned you down. I'm surprised you can even get a date." Katherine said as she crossed her arms and arched a brow before turning to look at Rebekah. "Is he still a virgin?"
"Kat!" Caroline gasped in embarrassment, her eyes flaring at the question, while Klaus looked completely nonplussed.
"Why the bloody hell would I know if my brother is a virgin or not? That is disgusting." Rebekah said as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Seriously Kat. Why would she know that?" Caroline demanded as she pulled herself free from Klaus' grasp to glare at Katherine.
"Because I know whether my brother is a virgin or not." Katherine said matter of factly.
"How do you even know that?!"
"Why the bloody hell would you want know that?!"
The two blondes yelled in unison.
"I read his diary." Katherine said, her eyebrows going up in a silent 'duh', answering Caroline's question before looking at Rebekah and answering hers "Because I'm his sister. Duh."
"Jeremy has a diary?" Caroline asked incredulously.
"Diary. Journal. Whatever. Same thing."
"Why are you reading his journal?"
"Because I read Elaina's diary. Might as well read Jeremy's."
"Why are you reading them in the first place?!"
"Because they don't hide them very well. I would read yours too if you actually kept one."
"How do you know I don't have a diary?"
"Because I've gone through your drawers. You don't have a diary. You do have a very nice collection of Victoria's Secret underwear." Katherine said as she looked at Klaus and winked, who was watching the whole conversation with an amused smirk, unlike Caroline who looked livid with anger and Rebekah who was just disgusted with the conversation.
"Oh my God, Kat. I'm never leaving you alone in my room again."
Katherine snorted. "With how long you take to get ready? Like that'll ever happen."
Caroline lifted her hands to her temples and started rubbing as another thought crossed her mind and her eyes popped open. "Why did you wink at Klaus when you were talking about my underwear?"
"I wanted to give him an incentive to keep trying to date you. No one should have to go through high school a virgin." Katherine said matter of factly.
"Now, love, no one said I was a virgin." Klaus finally said, as he really couldn't let them keep going on the assumption that he was a virgin, even if it was resulting in Katherine helping Klaus get a date with her best friend.
Katherine arched a brow as she looked at him. "No one has to with those lame ass pickup lines you use."
"Bloody hell, I cannot listen to this conversation anymore." Rebekah broke in as she put her hands over her ears and brushed past all of them, heading for the doors at the end of the hallway.
Katherine smirked as she watched Rebekah leave and turned on her heel to follow her, leaving Caroline and Klaus alone in the now empty school hallway.
Caroline had moved her hands from her temples to her face, covering the fact that her face was bright red with embarrassment, although whether it was from Katherine talking about her underwear to Klaus the fact that they had a conversation about his virginity or lack thereof right in front of him.
Klaus put his hand on her lower back, resting against the bare skin that was exposed by her cheer uniform.
"Now, sweetheart - "
Caroline's head snapped up at that and seared Klaus with a scathing glare. "This is all of your fault!"
Klaus brows tipped up at the accusation, a look of confusion crossing his handsome features.
"What is my fault, love?"
"The fact that I now know that you are a virgin. The fact that you know I have sexy underwear. The fact that I am now wondering if Jeremy is a virgin or not." Caroline made a face of disgust. "It should never ever ever cross my mind to wonder if my best friends brother is a virgin or not. So now I totally need to bleach my brain and it is All. Your. Fault."
Klaus ridiculously pink lips parted as if to say something to defend himself, anything really, but nothing came to mind as he stood there trying to make sense of what Caroline was accusing him of.
"How is this my fault?"
Caroline had turned to flounce off but immediately turned back at the question.
"How is this your fault? How is this your fault?! It is your fault because you stole my book!"
"The Make Out Paradise book?"
"Yes, the Make Out Paradise book, Klaus. You stealing that book lead to this whole conversation where I just learned terrible terrible things about people I do not want to know terrible terrible things about."
"I wouldn't call it a terrible conversation, sweetheart. More awkward than terrible."
"Awkward IS terrible!"
Rather than argue the point Klaus turned the conversation in a new direction."Well, to make it up to you, why don't I take you to dinner tomorrow night." Klaus said as he slid his hand against her back and started walking her down the hall in the direction of the gym where the cheerleaders were gathering for basketball game they were cheering for that evening.
"I don't want dinner. I want my book back." Caroline said as she glared up at Klaus.
"How about both. When I pick you up for dinner, I will give you your book back."
"I can't wait that long to find out what happens!"
Klaus just shrugged and smiled.
Caroline made a groaning noise as she tried to tell herself that she didn't need to find out what happened in the book, except that was just crazy talk because she had to know what happened next. Damn. Damn. Damn.
"Fine! But we are having dinner tonight, after the game."
Klaus couldn't help the grin that spread across his face.
"But don't even think about picking me up or taking me home. We are meeting at the Grill. And you had better have my book or I will literally kill you." Caroline said as she poked his chest with her finger.
Klaus dipped his head in agreement, and tried to keep his enthusiasm contained and look chastised by the threat.
Caroline gave him a glare for good measure before turning on her heel and talking down the hall.
"I'll see you tonight, Caroline." Klaus called after her with a smile.
