Rise of the Ulforce

Daisuke opened her eyes and they widened, she was floating naked in a sphere of blue light and the sphere was floating in a vast empty space. "Whoa, where am I? The last thing I remember was running towards TK with Chibomon in my arm and then I was engulfed in a flash of light."

"Dai!" she heard Veemon's voice from all around her.

"Veemon? Is that you? Where are you?" Daisuke asked her partner.

"I don't know Dai, but I think we somehow merged together," Veemon said making Daisuke's eyes widen.

"We….merged…as into one singular being?"

"That's right. And I think that now we can defeat Barbamon."

"You're right. I feel so powerful. Now let's go and get him!" Daisuke said with determination.

"Impossible! How can this be? How did a human and Digimon combine together?" Barbamon thought in astonishment as he looked at UlforceVeedramon.

"Daisuke?" TK asked holding his broken arm and UlforceVeedramon looked back at him and she nodded.

"Yup, but now I am UlforceVeedramon. And Veemon is in here as well," the new Digimon explained and TK nodded. "Are you alright?"

"I'll be fine for now, just go and beat Barbamon so we can get the hell out of this digital hell," he told her and she nodded.

"Right." She turned to face Barbamon. "Barbamon, you have brought death and destruction to the Digital World, what do you have to say for yourself?"

"I don't have to explain anything to an insolent pest like you. Nothing will stop me from ruling this world and destroying the Digimon Sovereigns themselves," Barbamon said before he ran towards UlforceVeedramon and swung his staff towards the mega Royal Knight Digimon but she lifted one of her arms and a light blue blade of light shot out of her bracer. She blocked the attack and then kicked Barbamon back sending him into the air with her in quick pursuit. "DARK FIRE!" Barbamon shouted sending black fire beams towards UlforceVeedramon but before the attack could hit her she vanished.

"Where did she go?" Cody asked.

"Fast," Barbamon said. He then turned to see UlforceVeedramon behind him. She lashed out with her sword and cut a long gash across Barbamon's back. He roared in pain and sent crackling red lightning at her only for UlforceVeedramon to vanish again. The Royal Knight appeared above Barbamon, arms crossed.

"RAY OF VICTORY!" A golden v-shaped beam of energy soared towards Barbamon who sneered.

"Don't underestimate me!" He caught the attack with his staff, and with visible effort sent it back towards UlforceVeedramon. The Royal Knight disappeared again only to reappear mere feet behind Barbamon. She lashed out with another strike and vanished only to reform, strike again, and vanish. Several attacks later, Barbamon managed to catch her sword with his staff and they pressed against each other for a moment. Suddenly they both roared their attacks in unison.

"DARK FIRE!"

"RAY OF VICTORY!"

The two attacks collided and went out with a massive explosion that blew both Barbamon and UlforceVeedramon backwards. When they regained their bearings, the two glared at each other. Barbamon had many burn marks and was visibly injured. To his shock, UlforceVeedramon seemed as pristine as ever, completely uninjured by the explosion.

"That's some defence," he growled. "But don't assume that you're stronger than me. In this place I control everything. That includes the damned souls around us." He held one arm up and several screams were heard as UlforceVeedramon saw several of the damned Digimon disintegrate and their data gathered around Barbamon, healing his injuries.

"You're a monster," UlforceVeedramon growled. He merely sneered at her before sending a red arc of energy forth. She once again disappeared, but this time Barbamon had adapted to her speed and blocked the sword slice. They duelled for nearly a minute, Barbamon's every swing engulfed with black fire that burned at UlforceVeedramon, before breaking apart once more. Once again she appeared completely uninjured as opposed to Barbamon who once again had sword injuries.

"I can't believe that one mega Digimon is able to hold their own against me. Although I should not be too surprised, this Mega Digimon is one of the Royal Knights," Barbamon thought. "I need to find a way to retake the advantage in this fight and fast, but any attacks that would actually harm her would be dodged easily," he thought as he glanced towards the DigiDestined and a devious idea filled his mind. "Of course, Daisuke and Veemon won't allow their friends to be harmed by me, they will have to jump in the way to take the attack."

"What is he planning?" Daisuke asked floating in the sphere of light.

"DARK FIRE!" Barbamon roared as he disengaged from combat and sent twin black streams of fire towards the DigiDestined.

"NO!" Daisuke and Veemon shouted, and UlforceVeedramon flew towards her friends and stood with her backs to the flame. She gritted her teeth as she felt her cape burn up and some of her armour crack and blacken. It took her only moments to realize that Barbamon wasn't letting up and she had to get out of the way or the fire might reach her friends. Grabbing them, she sped away and released them a respectable distance from the battleground. "Stay here," Daisuke told them only to cry out as Barbamon released another attack.

"DEATH'S LURE!" he roared. A line of red energy streaked towards UlforceVeedramon all the way from Barbamon's position far from them and wrapped around her. A yank was enough to send her flying towards the Demon Lord.

"I'll just use the momentum and cut him in half," she told herself. Raising her sword, she was nevertheless unprepared to match Barbamon's next attack.

"PANDEMONIUM LOST!" A tsunami of black fire erupted from the figure in front of her. UlforceVeedramon tried to dodge reflexively, but realized too late that she was still tethered with the energy whip. She could only cry out as the fire engulfed her form, blackened and burned away her armour, disintegrating her hair and scorching her partially exposed face. Barbamon grinned in satisfaction only for it to freeze on his face when the fire fully clear, revealing a completely uninjured UlforceVeedramon.

"Daisuke!" TK shouted. "Are you alright?" he asked her while Barbamon gaped at her.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Daisuke replied. The Demon Lord interrupted.

"By Lucemon, how in the Digital World did you survive that, let alone without a scratch when I know that you got burnt!"

Daisuke smirked. "One word: Ulforce." Without waiting for Barbamon to puzzle out the hint, she moved back into action. Flying towards the Demon Lord, Daisuke grabbed his beard before he could react.

"Not the beard!" he shouted. UlforceVeedramon spun Barbamon and let him go as he smashed through a pillar which collapsed on top of him. The rubble then exploded outwards and Barbamon who had blood dripping from his mouth glared at the Royal Knight Digimon. "Come forth my servants!" Three black Digimon that stood tall yet hunched over with two nasty claws pointing towards their enemy. Each claw had a small eye on it, but the most noticeable detail was the single, yellow eye that glared from each one's head. "Let's see how you handle three strong Mega level Digimon, my precious Ghoulmon!" Barbamon shouted, a manic look in his eye.

"DEATH ARROW," one growled, and a multitude of black energy projectiles streaked towards UlforceVeedramon who weaved through the attacks with ease.

"EXPLOSION EYE!" the second shouted and a large red beam shot from its largest eye, but that too was evaded. The attack exploded behind UlforceVeedramon who simply moved to attack himself.

"RAY OF VICTORY!" he shouted, and the golden attack streaked towards one of the Ghoulmon. To her surprise, Barbamon interposed himself and reflected it back at her. She moved to dodge by was interrupted by the third Ghoulmon.

"DEATH ARROW." More projectiles flew and she was forced to the limit swerving around them while avoiding her own attack. Rushing at him, she raised her sword only to swerve aside from a red beam from the first Ghoulmon. More energy arrows appeared to box her in even as Barbamon also acted.

"DARK FIRE!" he yelled, and watched in glee as UlforceVeedramon was left with nowhere to go. His fire slammed into her even as she avoided several energy arrows. To add insult to injury, all three Ghoulmon acted the moment their projectiles collided of were avoided.

"EXPLOSION EYE!" The red beams crashed into her and exploded in a magnificent blast that possibly rivalled Barbamon's own Pandemonium Lost. The attackers didn't wait for the smoke to clear and repeated their moves. Just as they released their attacks, an uninjured UlforceVeedramon appeared behind one of the Ghoulmon.

"RAY OF VICTORY!" The beam instantly erased the dark Mega and caused the remaining three to zero in on her.

"EXPLOSION-" the second Ghoulmon began before being cut off by her appeared right in front of him. A single slice dispelled the incoming attack and badly injured the opponent. He managed to grab a hold of UlforceVeedramon's arm for an instant, an opening that Barbamon took advantage of.

"PANDEMONIUM LOST!" Black fire engulfed both Ghoulmon and Royal Knight, shrouding both in darkness. When the smoke cleared the last remnants of Ghoulmon's data was fading away, and Barbamon was directed towards the last Ghoulmon when he heard it cry out. It too was fading away, UlforceVeedramon's sword in its heart. Pressure built in the Demon's Lords head until he felt like bursting.

"Damn you! Just how much power will it take to take you down!" he howled.

"More than you could ever hope to give Barbamon!" she boasted. Privately she winced. "They don't cause any lasting damage, but damn if it doesn't hurt," she told Veemon.

"Tell me about it," Veemon agreed.

The Demon Lord was about to howl again in outrage when he suddenly paused. "The Ulforce… no, it can't be true! That's just a legend!" he screamed. "There's no way a Digimon appeared with that power after so much time!"

"Figured it out?" Daisuke taunted.

"The Ulforce," Barbamon growled, "is the ability for a Digimon to rewrite its own data almost instantaneously. In more simple terms, they are nearly immortal. They can be hurt, but their injuries fade so quickly that it doesn't matter at all. It's said that even one of the Legendary 'Instant Deletion' attacks would have no lasting effect. An ability even I fear. This whole battle was pointless from the instant you became UlforceVeedramon. But the battle isn't over just yet. After all, there are still targets that can't regenerate."

"Not on your life Barbamon! We'll never let you lay another finger on them!" Daisuke and Veemon shouted as they charged towards Barbamon again. Sword and staff continued to clash against each other in an amazing show of skill on both sides.

"We need to end this," Daisuke told Veemon. With a cry UlforceVeedramon disappeared seemingly into thin air before reappearing behind Barbamon. There was a paused before Barbamon flinched and fell to the ground, a bleeding hole in his chest.

"Curse you…" he gasped.

"RAY OF VICTORY!" UlforceVeedramon shouted and she fired a v shaped beam of light at Barbamon. He roared in pain as he was slowly torn apart.

"If I cannot harm your body, I will destroy your mind!" he roared as the area around UlforceVeedramon started to turn black and it gathered around her. "TRUE PANDEMONIUM LOST!" Barbamon bellowed as the Dark Area imploded in dark fire.

"No!" Daisuke and Veemon screamed. They flew back to their friends with speed faster than anything they had previously shown and managed to reach the DigiDestined in time. "Please protect them," she told herself. "TENSEGRITY SHIELD!" A shining white barrier appeared around the group, completely blocking out the maelstrom around them. After almost of minute of raging fire, the attack finally faded and UlforceVeedramon finally lowered her hands.

"This isn't the end," the last whispered of Barbamon passed through the DigiDestined's ears.

"Is he gone?" Kari asked hesitantly.

"Yes. He's gone," UlforceVeedramon said as she looked to see the top of the Dark Area open up revealing the Digital World. "Come on everyone, climb on." The DigiDestined nodded and UlforceVeedramon picked up the Digimon and their human partners before she flew up through the hole and reappeared in the place where Barbamon had transported everyone to the Dark Area. UlforceVeedramon glowed bright blue before she separated into Daisuke and Demi-Veemon and fell onto their backsides.

"Man, that was tiring," Daisuke panted.

"I agree," Demi-Veemon agreed.

"That was awesome Daisuke," Cody said and she and her partner smiled at Cody.

"You rocked," Kari told her friend who grinned before she looked at TK gingerly holding his arm.

"TK, are you okay?" she asked walking up to him.

"I'll live, I think it's broken but it should be better in a few weeks," TK said.

"That's a relief. Let's go home and rest up," Ken said and the others nodded. Everyone headed off with Daisuke and Demi-Veemon walking another way, but not before Daisuke and TK looked at one another and they waved before walking off.
