I only own Bethany and Roger.
Thank you for all the reviews:)
"No! It can't be true!"
"They're mistaken!"
"They were lied to!"
"They have to be still alive! They have to be!" Bugs sighed as the crowd grew louder and louder with grief and denial. Bugs Bunny wanted nothing more than to go to his room and mourn the loss of his beloved Lola, Porky, Speedy, Tina, Sylvester, and all the others who were captured and what Bugs had just learned from Gandalf, dipped. But he couldn't.
He had been surprised when Donald told him that Gandalf was in the Dining Hall, and wanted to speak only to Bugs and Aragorn. After clearing everybody out, Bugs learned that Bethany had joined them after running away from Donald and Goofy and was the one who gave Gandalf a transportation stone. Gandalf immediately told him that as they suspected, the villains were heading towards the Black Cauldron and every good guy that was able to fight was needed to stop them.
Bugs had been expecting this ever since they all met in the Round Table room but Bugs didn't expect that the ringleader was an imaginer named Roger and that every single captured animated person had been killed. After Aragorn told Gandalf that it wasn't Gandalf's fault that he failed to save their friends, the elderly wizard left leaving them several transportation stones when they were ready to leave.
Bugs knew immediately that he wasn't ready to leave, that he, certainly everyone else needed time cry their hearts out. But there was no time they needed to go to Black Cauldron as soon as possible. So Bugs, with a broken heart, called every person at the sanctuary and told them everything. At first, they were excited that they were going to get payback on the villains, until Bugs told them the devastating truth about their loved ones, causing the crowd to act with grief and denial. Bugs held up his hand and thankfully, everyone grew silent.
"I'm afraid…it's true. And I wish we could mourn our loved ones right here and now, but we can't. We have to go to Black Cauldron land and stop them from destroying everything else that we hold dear. Though, once we are there, and if the villains aren't there yet, then we can mourn a bit. But now, we have to get ready to transport over there. Let's try to be ready to leave in about an hour okay?"
To his surprise, the crowd seemed to find this agreeable and hurriedly left the dining hall. Once he was sure no one would protest Bugs left the dining hall as well. As he headed towards his room, he fought with all his strength not to just break down and sob. Lola…Porky…Tina…if there is a place where cartoon characters go when they are dipped, are you there? Are you free from feeling any more pain? Are you happy? Are you watching over me and Daffy now? I hope you are.
Suddenly, Bugs stopped. He had just reached his bedroom door and was about to opened it when he heard noises from the inside. What the? Then Bugs heard a familiar voice.
"Take that! And that!" After every that, Bugs heard a crash. Recognizing that the voice belonged to Daffy, Bugs opened the door and as he suspected, Daffy was breaking a whole lot of vases with a baseball bat.
"Daffy! Why are you breaking vases? Actually scratch that, where did you get the vases?" asked Bugs.
"They were in my hammer-space of course you idiot," answered Daffy rudely as he walked towards an unbroken vase.
"And if you really want to know why I'm breaking them, just stay there and watch. But I'm going to warn ya, It might be graphic," Daffy continued. I doubt it, but okay. It's not like I have a whole lot to pack anyway…
"Well, well Porky, looks like we meet again. Though, if I remember correctly, when Eris caught ya, you told me to run, saying that you will be fine. HOW CAN YOU BE FINE WHEN YOU ARE DIPPED?!" Suddenly, Daffy hit the vase, breaking it into a million pieces. Stunned by Daffy's outburst, Bugs could only watch as Daffy headed towards the next vase.
"Oh hi Tina. If you're wondering why you're single, it's because you left me and GOT YOURSELF DIPPED! You only got yourself to blame!" Daffy raised his bat, and Bugs winced, expecting Daffy to hit it. But Daffy didn't. To his surprise, Daffy instead just fell to his knees and lowered his bat to the ground.
"Oh whom am I kidding? I can't hit a vase substitute of Tina…I was going to marry her one day. Did you know that Bugs?" Oh Daffy…
"Yeah, I knew that," answered Bugs as he quietly closed the door behind him and walked quietly towards Daffy.
"Why did they leave us Bugs? They were supposed to wait, wait till Batman and the others rescued them. But they didn't. It's their fault they're dead!" cried Daffy, tears in his eyes. Tears threatened to leave Bugs' eyes but he didn't let them. His best friend needed him to be strong.
"It's not their fault Daffy. You know as well as I do that they tried their best to stay alive, but…the villains were just too much for them," answered Bugs, kneeling down beside Daffy.
"Then they shouldn't have promised us that they would stay alive!" argued Daffy. The horrible memory of how Eris captured all the Looney Tunes characters except for him and Daffy ran through his mind again. It was only thanks to their captured friends' persuading them to run and Wile E. Coyote's explosive TNT that Bugs and Daffy escaped. Bugs shook his head, bringing himself back to the present.
"Daffy…I guess there are just some promises, that no matter how much you try, you can't just fulfill them," said Bugs sadly. I wished they could have fulfilled that promise though.
"So that means you better not promise me you will survive this upcoming battle," said Daffy. Bugs widen in surprise at the sudden switch in topic.
"Not that I want you to die or anything. I mean, who else is going to let me live them in their house without paying a penny? Or have a selfish, despicable guy like me as their best friend? I just don't want you breaking a promise like that to me," confessed Daffy. Daffy… Extremely touched and full of sudden determination, Bugs put a hand on Daffy's shoulder.
"I won't. But, then I don't have to, because I am without a doubt going to live." Daffy immediately looked surprised, then hopeful, then furious.
"How is that not a promise?!" Daffy shouted angrily.
"Because it's a fact," said Bugs calmly. "I can't very well leave my best friend all alone here in Cartoonland can I? I mean, who else will protect him and take care of him?" Daffy's furious expression disappeared before looking very stunned. Then Daffy made a face that told Bugs that he was touched and hopeful. Then Daffy laughed.
"Of course you will! I will expect no less from the mighty Bugs! So stop dawdling Bugs and let's get ready to kick those villains' butts!" exclaimed Daffy as he stood up. Bugs only chuckled as he stood up as well. Daffy will be Daffy. And Bugs wouldn't have him any other way, though, there are times he wished Daffy could be a bit more considerate…
"But don't expect me to give you a medal after the battle Bugs," said Daffy as he headed towards Bugs' door. Of course you won't, why did you think that after all this time, I would expect you to give me a medal?
"You just have to deal with the reward that I will make sure that you're not alone," said Daffy, opening the door. Bugs couldn't help it. A few tears left his eyes. Quickly wiping them away, Bugs quickly replied before Daffy left his room.
"I guess that reward will have to do." Even though Bugs said it sarcastically, he smiled gratefully. Daffy turned his head and when he saw it, gave a small smile back.
"You bet it will."
Oh Daffy and Bugs...you guys do indeed have a wonderful bromance. Anyway, please review and I will probably update tomorrow.
