His Kitten: Left Alone Longer Than She Thought
Hello ladies and gentlemen! Wait… are there any gentlemen that read this? I honestly have no idea… But anyway I am back from the dead for now.
To the anon viewer that commented on April 10th, I understand that it is confusing because my mind isn't exactly one track and I have trouble thinking things through… It was an idea that I had and was wanting to work with but didn't explain very well. In fact the reason that those who took care of her didn't want her speaking would be because she might tell others what happened to her there and all of the people were afraid of what would happen if they were found out.
As about the stealing thing, Melody wasn't entirely stupid and knew to hide her ears against her head when she snuck up on people. Her tail was hidden by the oversized dress that she had pulled off of someone's random clothesline. The only reason that Ciel and Sebastian noticed her ears was because in her shock her ears popped up. She hadn't expected to be caught that time and figured it would be a simple and easy thing to swipe a bottle of milk.
As for Sebastian's eye color, I wrote it that way because of how his eyes sometimes appear in the anime, even though I'm going by the manga which is probably what I should have stuck with in appearances as well. It was also how his eyes were sometimes explained in other fanfictions.
Thank you to all of my new followers and commenters. I hope this clears everything up for you. I appreciate your constructive criticism, which is how I choose to take it. I don't want anyone to fight or anything about the comments. I am sorry that it has been so long since I've updated, I'll explain a bit more about why after I've finished the chapter though.

Melody POV:
It seems have been a while since Sebastian and Young Master had left. I was still cleaning some areas to keep myself busy but I seemed to be running out of areas to clean. Though this did give me more time to think to myself about my decision even though I had already made it. I still had to think about how I would tell Sebastian that I accepted his offer to become his mate.
I sighed a little bit and pushed some of the longer parts of my bangs out of my face. They had grown since Sebastian last trimmed them.
Wait, had he even trimmed them for me since the first time he cut my hair?
I huffed a little at the thought. Really it was something that I would try to do on my own but I was a bit scared that I would do terribly and end up looking awful! I would have to ask him to do so for me once he and Young Master were back from whatever they were doing.
After beginning to think like this I gave up on cleaning.
I began exploring the room I was in, which appeared to be a sitting room, while staying standing on my feet. It wasn't often that I would get down on my hands and knees to explore anymore unless I found something that really piqued my curiosity.
It was something that I could do if I was on my own but not when around other people, or rather humans. They found it odd and so it would draw attention to me.
I continued exploring, occasionally opening cupboards and such just so that I had something to do. I found nothing to interest me there though, absolutely nothing at all.
What on earth could I do to pass the time here?!
That's when it hit me, I could read some things now so maybe I could go to the library, which is admittedly smaller than the one at the mansion, and see if there was anything that I could read on my own. Sebastian was still reading things with me and I'd never read anything on my own before. Perhaps if I were to read something on my own and be able to tell Sebastian what the book or story was about then he would be proud of me and let me do something else.
It would prove that I didn't always need him. That I could do things on my own and that I wasn't just a kitten.
Speaking of kittens, I miss my Midnight. I hope that she is alright with her brothers, sisters and her mama. She often played with her siblings now that she had started getting similar to their size.
I am getting off track here aren't I?
I shook my head to clear it before turning and leaving the sitting room to head for the library. I don't remember exactly where it is but I had gotten to where I recognized the scent of books and so I simply searched out the room where that scent was strongest.
That worked perfectly for me!
It took me no time at all to reach the library which made me proud of myself. I grinned and felt my tail swish proudly behind me and my ears perk up.
I shook off my prideful expression and went to a calm one that I attempted to keep just like Sebastian might as I made my way over to a bookshelf. Perhaps I could find the book that Young Master often read at night which happened to give him bad dreams.
Maybe if I read the book then I could find out why it gave him bad dreams and I could help keep him from having them.
Yes! That was an excellent idea and maybe Young Master will see how I care for him.
I nodded to myself and began to search for the book. I mainly had to go on the appearance since it wasn't as heavily handled here at the town house as it was at the mansion and I wouldn't be able to tell by scent which book it was.
How did I even know that the book would be here in the library instead of on Young Master's bedside table like it is at the mansion?
I didn't but coming to the library had been what gave me the idea so I figured that I would look in here for the book first.
I looked around for a dark bound book that was at least a little worn. My eyes kept scanning the shelves for such a book when in actuality there were several books which fit the description of the book that I was looking for. This annoyed me a little bit but it didn't stop me from looking.
It was quite a while before I had scanned all of the books in the library and I still hadn't found the one that I was looking for. This annoyed me even more than I already was by all of the books that looked similar to what I had been looking for.
I had even pulled out all of the books that looked similar and checked to see if they were what I was looking for but none of the titles on the cover matched to what I remembered the title of the book Young Master had read looked like.
I crossed my arms and huffed as my tail flicked. Only it wasn't flicking in pride this time.
I had set my mind on finding that book and reading it no matter what the content of the book was and nothing was going to stop me. I would even walk back to the manor and find the copy that was kept there just to read it myself at this moment. If I did that then I could stop by and say hello to Midnight and Lady as well.
But no.
I'm going to look for a copy of the book here first and do my best to read it on my own and even summarize it to Sebastian to prove that I had read it. Maybe he would give me a reward of some sort, not that I completely expect it since he had stopped giving me rewards for everything a while back.
I left the library and looked for the office or Young Master's bedroom to look for this book. It annoyed me that I hadn't found the book yet but I was still going to look for it.
But which room would I go to first, Young Master's bedroom or his office? I guess I'll just go to whichever is closest first and that happens to be the office.
I nodded to myself and headed the way that I remembered the office being in. Since he was often in the office even here at the town house I knew where it was pretty much by heart.
I knocked on the door quietly, even if no one was there, because Sebastian had always knocked on the door. It was proper manners to do so before entering a room.
Even though no answer came from the other side of the door I still opened it and went in to look around. It was a bit awkward and I felt like I was snooping but I was simply looking for a book that I wanted to read.
I began looking in places that I thought I would find a book in here. The first place being on top of the desk that Young Master often sat at. It wasn't there so I checked a few of the drawers, only glancing at what was in them so that I wasn't snooping at all. The book wasn't in the drawers so I looked around the rest of the room. Still there was no copy of the book to be found.
That left one place for me to look, Young Master's bedroom.
I would be entering without permission but I'm sure that he would understand why if I ever had to tell him. But he wouldn't mind if I never had to tell him either right?
I shook my head and left Young Master's office, making sure that I closed the door just like it had been before I entered the room, and headed for the bedroom.
It was a bit odd that I hadn't run into the Prince and Mr. Agni yet today but I suppose that they are busy with their own things and so left me to my own. It wasn't that I didn't mind but I still wasn't completely used to being on my own. I was almost always with Young Master or Sebastian.
My ears flicked a little bit. "I hope that they're alright…"
I simply shook my head and continued on with my quest. Young Master and Sebastian would be fine, I'm sure of it.
Just as I had done with the office door I knocked on Young Master's bedroom door while knowing that I would get no response. I still waited a moment before opening the door though.
I glanced around the room before finally settling on the bedside table where I normally saw the book. It wasn't on the top of it but perhaps he put it in the drawer. I opened the drawer to check but again found nothing.
I closed the drawer and huffed again. My arms crossed and both my ears and tail flicked in irritation.
This meant that I would have to go back to the manor to get the book if I wanted to read it!
I'm sure that Sebastian would understand why I left the town house right? Even if he didn't I was going to do it anyway. Not like the Prince and Mr. Agni would notice since I hadn't seen them all day anyway.
I made sure that everything I touched was back in place before I headed out of the bedroom and reclosed the door.
Instead of leaving through the front door, I headed toward the kitchen door where I ended up coming across Mr. Agni.
"Ah Miss Melody, you must have been busy all day since my Prince and I haven't seen you."
I nodded a bit.
"Yes I was cleaning a bit before I decided to try and read a book. But the book I am looking for is not here and is instead back at the manor. I am going to retrieve it but I shouldn't be long." I smiled at him.
He blinked a little bit.
"I suppose that is alright but I do hope that you are careful and that you do not tire yourself out too entirely." He smiled again.
I nodded to him and curtsied a bit.
"Of course I shall be. I would not be able to serve my master correctly if I were to get myself hurt."
Mr. Agni chuckled a bit and nodded.
"I shall see you soon then, Mr. Agni."
I walked out through the kitchen door and looked around to make sure that there was no one watching even if I didn't hear anyone too awfully close.
Once I was sure that the coast was clear I allowed myself to change into my kitten form. This way less people would notice me and I would be able to slip through small alleys without much danger from humans but if I did run into trouble then I could easily escape using some of my demonic powers.
I took off in the direction of the manor while making sure to stay alert to what happened around me so that if something happened I didn't get hurt.
It was pretty easy for me to pick up speed when I was out of sight of any humans. I was starting to get close to the manor but I stopped.
Strange noises were coming from the home but that's not the thing that made me stop.
Those scents were so familiar but where are they from?
I stopped and flicked my tail as I thought, vaguely listening to the sounds of some sort of battle but finally I figured out where they were from.
Those scents are from the circus performers! What on earth are they doing here and why are they in a battle at the manor?!
That's right, they were after Young Master or something but I had been so busy thinking lately that I had forgotten about it.
From the sounds of it walls were falling down and things were breaking.
The performers were causing destruction in Young Master's home.
The home that I had become used to.
The home where I learned that I could speak without the fear of being hurt.
Where I learned to fit in with humans so that less attention would be paid to me.
Where I met my first friends.
Where I had fallen in love with my master, Sebastian.
This was not acceptable! Not acceptable at all and whoever is causing damage to my home will pay for it.
I was close enough to the manor that I could change into my human form without being noticed so I did just that.
My claws were extended slightly and my ears were pointed back while my tail flicked angrily.
No one does this to Young Master's home, my home.
A gunshot? Oh well, I was still going to do my thing and make these people pay for damaging things here at the Phantomhive manor.
"WENDY!"
Oh so the shot killed Wendy. Such a shame since she was so cute, just like a child. But people who go after my Young Master and attempt to hurt him will have to pay for it.
I hid in the shadows nearby where Peter had decided to hide though thanks to him being distracted by Mei-Rin and his sister's death.
"Shit, a sniper!? From the western rooftop!? That many shots… Exactly how many people are employed here?"
I giggled silently to myself as to not draw his attention.
"I'll leave the kid for later." I heard Peter say to himself.
I quickly climbed up the wall of the manor so as not to be noticed and smiled.
"No need to worry about it. I'll take care of you and you'll never have to worry about Finney."
I grinned and it wasn't my normal grin. This one was a more sadistic appearing grin.
I stayed in the shadows and waited as he landed on the roof.
"Now where is the sniper…"
He suddenly seemed shocked at the number of guns located on the roof and knelt down to examine one.
I took my chance and came up behind him even knowing that Mei-Rin was there. I wanted to take care of this myself. I nodded in her direction to let her know that I had this.
She didn't say anything at all but took off.
I used one of my extended claws to bat one of the feathers on his hat lightly.
"Hello again, Peter." I purred.
It wasn't a happy purr but an evil one that showed my readiness to attack and go in for the kill.
He jumped and whirled around to look at me with his eyes still wide.
"K-Kitten?!"
I flexed my claws and grinned again.
"Indeed. Such a shame that you have such a cute, childish face. Normally I would feel soft towards you for this but for once in my life I feel the need to drag my claws through the flesh on that cute face and gouge your pretty eyes out." I growled.
He gulped a bit and took a step back but I didn't move.
"I have a love for anything small or childish but if that thing were to purposely go after my Young master with the intent to hurt him then I have no choice but to protect him and dispatch them."
I could feel my eyes swirl and rushed at the small male who tried to move out of the way only to be caught by the arm with one of my clawed hands.
"Are you trying to get away~?" I giggled darkly and threw him against a wall. "That won't work."
He yelped lightly in pain and my heart wrenched slightly at the sound but I had to remember that he was a threat to Young Master. I shook my head and walked closer to him.
"First I'll get rid of you and move on to help my fellow servants, I don't want any of you hurting them anymore than you've hurt darling Finney." I hissed.
He tried to get away but I grabbed him by his neck and lifted him off of the ground. I smelled his blood as my claws broke his skin.
Peter fought against my hold but it only made me tighten my grip slightly on him as my free hand rose level to his stomach.
"I would rather not do this. But I'll tell you that my other side feels a thirst for blood and I'm not sure how much longer I can control myself. And for the record, my name is Melody Silver. I am a maid to the Earl Ciel Phantomhive here at the Phantomhive manor. I will protect my darling Young Master with my life and you won't get away from me."
While I was speaking Peter tried to kick me but my free hand caught his leg and squeezed, listening as he cried out in pain and the bone snapped.
I released his leg and smirked lightly as he clawed at my hand in a desperate attempt to free himself, but it was useless. His nails dug into my skin breaking it easily since it seemed to be so thin but it didn't hurt at all.
I sighed in annoyance and rose my free hand again. He saw it coming and his eyes widened as he struggled harder.
The sick part of this was that I found it amusing seeing the panic in his eyes. The fear of death and I wanted to see the light leave them.
The claws on my free hand extended even more as I pulled my hand back and held it still for a moment before thrusting it forward through his stomach. He cried out with his panicked eyes widened even more.
"I love children…. But you are no child!"
I pulled my claws out of him and chucked him over the edge of the roof, watching as his limp body fell to the ground below.
If he hadn't been dead when I dropped him then he was now.
I sighed a bit as I only looked at his motionless body for a moment before moving, not even bothering to clean the blood off of my left hand. I listened to find out who was still alive and came up with two names.
Dagger and Beast.
I growled lightly to myself and moved to get closer. I slipped in through a window and peeked around a corner into the entranceway where the two performers stood at the bottom of the stairs, or rather close to it since they had started going up the stairs where they met Bard.
I smirked and watched their exchange since I didn't want to give myself away just yet.
"Yo, I was waiting for you."
They froze and looked at him in shock.
"The back yard and the side are being entertained by Finney and Meirin. If you want to enter, aside from right here… There's…"
He was cut off as Dagger threw some of his knives at him, effectively surprising him.
"Woah! Hey you, that's dangerous! I was in the middle of talking!"
My eyes rolled a little bit. Bard was trying too much to be like Sebastian who tended to talk and freak people out when he was killing someone.
Beast took out her whip and tried to get him only for him to move out of the way making her hit one of the posts of the railway on the stairs.
"Heyyy! I'm not into that kinda thing you know!"
My head tilted slightly at this but I wasn't sure what he meant by it.
"Jeez, everyone wants to live fast like Solomon Grundy." Another sentence that I didn't understand, "What a disgrace. Hey Finney."
I hadn't noticed that Finney had been there while Bard crossed his arms "coolly."
"Take… One round of cannon!"
Finney began throwing busts and statues at the two who seemed to be effectively dodging such a barrage.
I smirked to myself and shifted excitedly, surely there was something that I could do here.
"Wai… Is this even possible!?" Dagger called out and the two continued dodging until he decided to try and hit Finney with more of his knives.
The statue blocked them but the two performers managed to get away for now. I followed after them, allowing Bard and Finney to see me.
I waited for my chance to do something, to help and to kill.
Finally I saw my chance as Bard went to throw a match into the room filled with flour but I stopped him.
"Bard, please allow me to handle this and you three can begin cleaning up the mess." I gave them one of my sweet smiles while not letting them see my bloodlust filled eyes.
The three glanced at me a bit shocked but nodded and did as told.
It wasn't long before a whip came in my direction and I simply caught it.
"Miss Beast, please come with me."
I yanked hard on the whip and instead of flying out of her hand as it may have normally she flew forward.
My blood thirsty grin came back as I caught her arm and began dragging her into the forest behind the manor. She tried to fight back just as Peter had before but I yanked her arm harshly making her shoulder pop out of the socket before continuing to drag her.
When she tried to kick me I twisted around and stomped on her leg. Looks like I've broken two people's legs today and all I can do is grin evilly at them.
I continued dragging her deeper into the forest and threw her by her dislocated arm into a clearing that I had come across while at the same time chucking her whip off to the side.
"You know… I thought you were rather sweet at times… Despite how evil you were to Betty."
She tried to drag herself away with her good arm but I didn't pay it any mind.
"You were evil to her and all she was doing was being herself! At least when I was learning to act more like a human my masters let me keep my personality and worked with it rather than trying to change it so that it would work with them!" I spat.
"You are kind to humans or humanoid beings like me but when it comes to animals like Betty you don't bat an eyelash at beating her!" My eyes became downcast for a moment.
"I lived through a situation like that before. My "tamers" would beat me if I tried to speak or reach out to them. I never noticed it before but now I know why they did it… They were afraid of me, afraid of what I would do or say to them. Tamers use whips to keep themselves at a distance from what they tame because they are afraid to get to close when they punish them. It makes me sick to think about it."
I met her eyes again and saw fear in them, just as I had seen in Peter and I wanted to see the light leave her eyes or just to see the panic in them as I attack her.
I began walking forward and she couldn't get away.
"You could have lived had you chosen not to come after my master. I feel more remorse about killing you than I felt about running Peter trough with my claws and dropping him to the ground. You were kind to me more than to Betty because I could speak and people, humans, could understand me while no human can understand what Betty had to say."
Once I was close enough I stepped on her back to keep her from moving more.
"Some humans are kind and I enjoy them, but those who try to take something away from me will be punished. You and the others damaged my master's home and had I not come to simply look for a book then I wouldn't have known and you wouldn't have to suffer like this but it seems you don't have enough luck."
I pushed down on her harder with my foot and listened to her sound of pain.
"I may not look it but I can be cruel and I can kill without remorse. I've done it before under the order of my master so that I could protect Young Master."
"W-w-w-who is y-your master…?" She managed to stutter out.
I smirked and made sure to show my sharp fangs which seemed to grow longer and sharper depending on how strong my bloodlust is.
"You know him as "Black" but he is no longer my master. I have chosen to make him more than my master but I will still protect him as best I can. The same with Young Master and you, you are only in the way of me protecting them."
I grabbed her hair and slammed her back against one of the trees surrounding the clearing.
"You will be with your family soon and I am sorry that I have kept you separated from them for so long."
With that said I shoved my hand through the left side of her chest and straight through heart. I watched the light leave her eyes as she died.
Once I was sure that she was no longer living I removed my hand from her and fell back on my bottom while making sure not to fall on my tail.
My adrenaline and bloodlust faded as I sat there just staring at her lifeless eyes. I slowly reached up and closed her eyes with my hand. I was still faced with the problem of what to do with her body so that it would never be found.
I sighed and began digging a grave with my hands. I made sure that it was deep enough for her and so that it would be hard to dig up and even though it took a while I managed to do it and put her in the grave.
It took a while for me to finish burying her and packing the dirt. Of course by now I was filthy so I would probably go inside and bathe before looking for the book that I had come for. Though I don't think that I'll have time to read it before Sebastian and Young Master came to get me at the town house.
I sighed and began heading back to the manor so that I could get into the bath.
It was only once I made it back to the manor that I noticed the scent that I hadn't before. It seems that Lady Elizabeth had come to visit Young Master and despite him being elsewhere had decided to stay and wait for him to come back.
I smiled slightly to myself and headed inside. Perhaps I should check on her after my bath and make sure that she's still asleep.
I quickly located the servants and told them that I was going to take a bath and they seemed more shocked than they were when they saw me earlier.
"Melody, are you okay?!" Finney cried and circled me to make sure that I wasn't harmed.
"I'm fine Finney, I was just protecting the manor like you all were." I smiled.
The three grinned and nodded before allowing me to go bathe.
I sighed happily in the bathroom as I felt comfortable here. I stripped out of my quite possibly ruined outfit after I had filled the tub with water that I deemed the correct temperature and slipped into the water.
I didn't allow myself to relax just yet and began to clean the blood and grime off of me and only after I had drained the dirty water and refilled it with clean, warm water. After that I relaxed and kept my hair down and watched as it floated in the water around me. Even my tail swayed gently in the water.
After I had dried and dressed I did what I told myself that I would do earlier and went to check on Lady Elizabeth. She was fast asleep in her bed which made me smile. It seemed like what happened earlier didn't bother her at all. I closed the door quietly and headed to Young Master's room to look for what I had originally come for, the book.
My search ended and I found the book which I was proud of before I headed back to the town house, making sure to bid goodbye to the servants after telling them that they did an excellent job protecting the manor.
Once back at the town house I began to try and read the first page of the book which I had some problems with occasionally but my reading had gotten much better.
I guess today was an interesting day and I felt tired so I only got through about half the page before I started falling asleep.

Alright so as for why it's been so long; My parents have been fighting and I've been having trouble with my college classes. That and I've been babysitting as well.
I have an interesting story if anyone wants to read it.
So remember how I wanted a cat and then, well I don't remember if I ever told you readers about Melody (the black furred orange eyed cat that adopted me as her owner) well we got a cat and had her for over half a year before she and my neighbor's cat Shadow went missing. I was upset but my family wouldn't let me get another pet. I kind of went behind their back and asked my grandma for a guinea pig for my birthday. Which I actually on the 29th of this month, my 19th birthday. Anyway, I got a guinea pig two weeks ago from my grandma and I named her Mika.
Do any of you find it odd that as a girl who adores cats and is a Leo, has a pet rodent? Well I don't just love cats so I guess it's not all that odd.
Thank you once again my dear readers for sticking with me and for the many new favorites and follows I have gotten in my absence! In honor of this I drew a new picture which is up on my DeviantArt account so if you would like you could go check that out.
Farewell and ta-ta for now my dears!
