The Pull

Chapter 35: Ignorance Is Bliss

Jasper's P.O.V.

It has been a month since Isabella's transformation. I have never been as happy in my existence as I am now. Everyday with my amazing mate is a new adventure. Carlisle and Esme left last week to go back to their home in Alaska, Carlisle was eager to get back to the hospital. Then a few days later Alice and Liam left for another trip through Europe, she was excited to get back to her favorite hobby and promised to bring us back a whole new wardrobe next time she visits. I would miss having them around, but it was nice to have just the six of us here again.

Isabella has surpassed all of my expectations. She is adjusting to her immortality faster and easier than any newborn i have ever seen. She already has control over her vampire strength and amazingly can cope with her emotions better than many seasoned vampires. We have spent our day working and her control and our night wrapped in each other's arms. Today we decided to start training her to fight. She has not forgotten Edward's threat. Even though we haven't seen or heard from him since, she wants to be prepared.

"Jasper, Bella, Rose, Em, Peter!" I heard Charlotte yell from outside. "Get your asses out here, it's time to start training!" I heard Isabella laugh from where she was laying in my arms. "Someone's in a hurry to get started." She said. I smiled down at her. "I am not surprised, Charlotte always did love to train." I told her. We quickly got dressed and headed outside, followed shortly by Rosalie and Emmett.

"Ok so i think we should split into groups of three - boys and girls." Charlotte said and we did as we were told.

Charlotte's P.O.V.

"Ok Bella, you will spar against Rosalie first. Just remember to control your strength if you get a hold of her since you are still a newborn, whether you act like it or not." I told her. Bella and Rose prepared to fight. Bella took a low defensive crouch while Rosalie circled her waiting to strike. As soon as Rose made her first move, Bella was gone. I didn't even see her move, man she was faster than i thought.

Then i heard her laugh and looked up to see her casually sitting in the tree above us. "Nice evasion technique, Isabella!" I told her. She smiled and jumped down. "Ok. Again." I ordered. Rosalie moved to tackle Isabella again. This time Bella side stepped while grabbing Rosalie's arm and spinning around before releasing her. Rose flew across the clearing and hit a tree, knocking it to the ground before she quickly recovered and came at Bella again.

Unknown P.O.V.

I could smell another vampire but the sent wasn't familiar. As he stepped out of the darkness, the first thing i noticed were his bronze colored hair and his golden topaz eyes. Even though i had never seen him before, i knew who he was. He was a Cullen, i could tell be the eye color. You only got those eyes by denying our true nature and drinking the blood of animals. I only know of two covens of 'vegetarians' and he defiantly not one of the Denali sisters. So he must be one of Carlisle Cullen's 'Children'. He has such a silly concept of a vampire family. the only things a vampire can truly be tied to are their sire and their mate. But then again he lives off of the blood of animals, so how sane can the man really be?

"What business do you have here, Cullen?" I asked, sneering the last word. "it's Masen now, Edward Masen. i only came to ask for your help." he said simply. I scoffed "What can't your 'family' help you enough?" "No. My family has turned against me. In fact I want you to help me take down the Cullen Coven once and for all." He said viciously. I raised my eyebrow "And why should i help you? What could you possibly have to offer me in return?" I asked. He took another step out of the darkness. "I can return to you the only thing that you truly want... the one that got away." He said with a devilish smirk, knowing i couldn't refuse what he was offering.
