Fifty Shades Nanny
Chapter 38: DNA
Christian
I was beyond livid as the douche bag next to me held my screaming daughter. She wouldn't be in this situation if it wasn't for one person. My bet would be that Elena is behind this after all this time she thinks she will get the upper hand on me. Sara knew better than to lie to me, but this is so much more coming from Elena. If I was on the edge earlier about handing her over to my mother well I am beyond that point.
"Daddy," Gracie calls out once we are out of the elevator and the police officer is taking her to another car. I can see outside the parking garage the paparazzi waiting for the next juicy story of my life.
"Gracie, it's all going to be alright," I yell as I am pushed hard into the back seat of the police cruiser. The idiot just lost his job, and I will make sure it happens. The cuffs are cutting into my wrists as I try to right myself in the seat. He backs the car out, and makes his way to the street entrance, he stops for longer than necessarily as the flashes of bulbs start to blind me. "Really, is this how you do your job," I snap as he hits the gas causing me to move forward in the seat.
"Well I don't kidnap children so I wouldn't know," he sneers back at me. I decide to bit my tongue to keep me from doing any damage that I can't get out of. I am now worried that this is the final straw for Ana. Of course I think she is the one who pushed Elena over the edge with the slap to the face. Damn I didn't get to ask her how that went down.
"Mr. Grey," one reporter calls out.
"Is it true you hit your daughter," another taunts as I am led into the police station. I see my father and mother just up ahead of me. My mother looks like she has aged more than necessarily over the last few minutes.
"Mr. Grey, Michaels uncuff him. Have you found him guilty yet?" an older man says as he walks out of his office.
"Captain, I thought we took kidnappers for face value," he snaps as he jerks on my hands.
"I said uncuff him. I know what he is being accused of, but storming into a man's home and dragging his daughter out while doing the same to her father is uncalled for at this hour," the Captain snaps as I feel the cuffs loosening around my wrists.
"Mr. Grey, Carrick," the Captain shows us to a interrogation room.
"Reynolds is this really called for," my dad asks as he sits down at the table.
"Carrick, I know it was half done, but the allegations that your son kidnapped the girl are a serious one. We have a statement from the girl's mother stating that he refused her access to the child and then made her said away her rights without any legal consul." he says as I feel the vile coming up my throat. I take a quick drink of the water out of the provided glass.
"Christian, did you do any of this," my dad asks as I pace the room.
"No, I told you Sara left the baby on my bed as I slept. I found her the next morning. I called you and mom first thing to get legal help. Sara left the note all of her own free will. My security tapes show her coming in with the child and leaving less than three minutes or so later," I snap getting agitated by the thought that my dad wasn't on my side.
"We talked with Sara a while back when she was arrested for breaking into your apartment and shooting you. She said a lot of things that a Dr. Flynn said were probably untrue, but now with an eye witness stating that the child isn't yours. We need to look into all the details," he says as he seems to be skimming through a sheet.
"I had a DNA test done, it came back that she was my daughter. I have no reason to kidnap her," I say almost breaking down.
"Yes, we have a copy of that. It seems though that it was tampered with," he says as he motions for me to sit down. My whole world crashed right then and there. How could someone really do something like this without thinking twice about the aftermath of their destruction?

Ana
It was all over the news what had just happened. I watched on the TV. everything that had transpired downstairs in the garage as Christian was led away, and Gracie was ripped from the only home she knew. I knew deep down that this was all Elena's plotting. She said she was going to ruin Christian. Why did I slap her? This was my entire fault.
"Ana, are you alright?" Gail asks me as I barely turn my head. I went to my room, changed into a different outfit and made a bee line for the elevator.
"Not so fast," Sawyer says as he grabs me from behind. I jerk my body away from him.
"I am leaving," I snap as I push the elevator button once more.
"I thought we talked about you running without me," he says half joking. I was livid that he thought that was what I was doing.
"How dare you?" I snap as I go to slap him. Taylor comes up from behind me to stop my hand from connecting with his face. "Let me go!" I demand as I step away from the two men.
"Miss. Steele, maybe you should sit down," Taylor says motioning for me to move, but I stand my ground.
"I am leaving this apartment. I am not some prisoner," I snap as I get into the elevator watching as both men follow me.
"It is a wild party out there, Miss. Steele. I think you should brace yourself for the flashes and the yelling. The security are keeping them at bay, but you aren't doing anything to protect yourself fully," Sawyer says motioning to my small bump that seemed to peek through the outfit I had put on.
"Crap," I mumble. I should have put something looser on. Taylor removes his suit jacket and hands it to me.
"You have a few dresses in the SUV," he says softly helping me to put my arms through the sleeves.
"He didn't do this did he," I question as we stand still watching and waiting for the elevator doors to open. I was trying to mentally prepare myself for the sight waiting for me.
"I know he didn't. Mr. Grey wouldn't do something like that," Taylor says as he moves to one side of me and Sawyer moves in front of me. As we exit the elevator two more guards join the flanking. I close my eyes and think of the good times with Christian as I am walked to the SUV. I ignore the shouting of questions as I climb into the back all alone. I close the portion and sure enough see a dress lying on the seat. I slip off my top and Taylor jacket, slipping the material over my head, pulling it down over my legs. I pull down the pants I had put on. I fold the outfit and lay it on the seat where my dress had been. I watch as the traffic slowly passes us by.
As Taylor pulls the SUV to a stop outside the police station he opens my door to shouting reporters and flashing of camera blubs. I had him his jacket and wait for him to put it on, before taking his hand. Sawyer has joined him in keeping the paparazzi away from me. We enter the station as several different people turn to watch me walking past them to the desk clerk.
"I was hoping to find out information about Christian Grey," I say as loudly as I could.
"I'm sorry, but he is being detained right now," the lady snaps at me.
"Ana, oh sweetie," Grace says pulling me into her embrace.
"Where is he?" I question tears on the brink of falling.
"They are questioning him right now. Carrick came out a few minutes ago to say there has been a lot of evidence going against him," she says softly as tears fall from her eyes. I can relate to her heartache. No mother should see her child handcuffed and led away, just like no child should be ripped from the only home they have known.
"Miss. Steele," an elderly woman asks as she approaches me.
"Yes," I say whipping a few tears away.
"I was asked to let you know how Miss. Grey is doing," the woman says as I look right at her. "She is right now downstairs with a child advocate. We are waiting for what to do with her right now," she says giving me a small smile.
"Why can't I take her," I ask quickly.
"I would like to give her to you, but you are linked to Mr. Grey and right now he is a suspect in her kidnapping," she says quietly. I nod my head.
"I see," I say looking toward Grace.
"Miss. Steele, Mr. Grey can see a visitor right now," Taylor says as he holds the half door open for me. I follow him to a small office.
"Ana, oh you shouldn't be here," Christian says as he pulls me into a hug.
"I couldn't sit in the apartment while you were here alone," I say as I try to push my insecurities out of my mind.
"Gracie isn't my daughter," he says softly as I look up to see his face.
"What do you mean?" I question trying to gain some composure. It was all lies.
"Ana, it's not like that," he snaps as if he knows what I am thinking. "I did have a DNA test done, the results said I was her father. The Captain in charge said this was all brought to light when Sara was brought in, but they thought she was lying until someone called saying they had proof she was kidnapped," he says looking over at the police officer in the room.
"It's Elena," I snap. "It's my entire fault for slapping her," I say crying into his chest.
"No, she would have done this sooner or later," he says rubbing my back. "The Captain has been very nice about all of this, my dad is talking with a judge to see about charges and the next steps," he says looking past me as the door opens.
"Mr. Grey, Ma'am," says a man wearing casual wear.
"Captain," Christian says beside me.
"We have spoken with Judge Matthews who says right now the evidence isn't as strong as it should be to charge you with kidnapping. He did though say until this matter is fully processed Gracie Grey will stay with Child Protective Services," he says as Christian releases me jumping to his feet.
"Like hell she is. I have raised her as my daughter for the last 7 years. I didn't know she wasn't mine. There is no way I am letting her stay in some strange home," he snaps as the other officer begins to restrain him from doing something stupid. That was the wrong move because the guy touched him on his chest and Christian goes to punch him, but out of nowhere Taylor is blocking him.
"Mr. Grey, I am really sorry for all the misunderstanding of this, but my hands are tied," the Captain says as he walks out of the room.
"Taylor I don't care what you have to do, but my daughter isn't staying here," he snaps as Taylor releases him.
"I will get right onto it," he says moving out of the room. We have been sitting in the damn little office space for almost 4 hours waiting to hear something. Carrick came in to give Christian some new details as to how the test was forged, but unsure who did it. It seems that the company that tested Christian and Baby Gracie were paid a lot of money to fix a DNA test, but the money was wired to a foreign account, so dead end there. Sara told the officers involved that the baby was her biological daughter, but she had in vitro fertilization to get pregnant. She picked a donor that matched all of Christian's detail from a clinic. All this information was overloading Christian because he was sitting cold faced through most of it.

Christian
I couldn't' believe what I was hearing. I was tricked by Sara, and if I could prove it probably Elena as well. I bet all of my money she was behind the whole damn thing. I wasn't going to sit around and let her get away with this. It was one thing to hurt me, but she was destroying an innocent child as well. I felt helpless as I listened to the damn details my father had been able to get a hold of.
In the background of the office I could see a TV showing me led away by the cops and the reporter telling their version of the details. In the eyes of the news I was a twisted kidnapper. My phone continued to vibrate from different people calling, but I ignored it. I wasn't in any mood to talk to anyone. I paid people to handle this kind of stuff, but this probably isn't something they ever planned for. I mean who takes a job, thinking, "tomorrow I'll handle the PR for my boss as he is accused of kidnapping a child." Yeah, that will get me points.
"Mr. Grey, here," someone says as I turn to see Ana holding out a cup of something.
"I don't want anything," I snap.
"Christian, Taylor and your dad are working hard to get to the bottom of this. It isn't going help anyone if you," I cut her off.
"If I don't what Ana, please enlighten me. You don't know how I am feeling or what I am going through. You haven't watched your child being taken from you kicking and crying. You have no right to tell me," I stop yelling as I see people staring at us. I reach out for her, but she turns away walking toward my mother who just shakes her head as they walk away together.
"You know you are an asshole," comes a familiar voice next to.
"Not in the mood," I snap as I stand up to walk away.
"Too damn bad," Kate says as she shoves me into the wall. "I just left Ana. Do you have any idea the guilt she feels for all of this? She watched just like you did as Gracie was taken. She watched as you were taken from her. She loves you, but you don't deserve it. You're a selfish prick who only thinks of himself, poor Christian Grey," I stop her right there.
"You know nothing about me, don't you dare pretend to think you do. I love Ana with everything I am. This situation is none of your damn business," I sneer at her as I walk away. I walk toward my father who shakes his head and points to a small room. I go to the window, and look in to see Ana curled up with her head on my mother's lap. "Is everything alright," I ask softly reigning in my anger.
"I raised you better than that Christian," my mother says softly as she lifts Ana's head and lays it on the sofa.
"I know," I mumble looking out the windows as my father and Taylor talk to each other. "I blew up, it wasn't fair to Ana. I am losing control of the things around me, and I get short tempered when I do," I admit softly.
"I know darling. I mean we can't control everything around us. Look around, there are way too many people who care about you, but you have to let them help you," she says softly kissing my forehead before walking out. She was right though.
"Christian," Ana says as I place her head in my lap.
"Shh, rest for now. We'll talk later," I say as I stroke her hair drifting off to sleep as I wait to see my daughter. I was serious; she wasn't going to be placed somewhere strange, even if I did have to really kidnap her.
