Chapter 38
A Very Special Song
Meanwhile, Martin, Nelson, Ralph, Janey and Sherri and Terri were chatting away.
"That was a really great dance." said Terri happily.
"I'll never forget that dance. Ever!" said Sherri happily.
"Oh, man! Did you see that look on Mr. Van Houten's face?" laughed Nelson. "I laughed so hard!"
"Guys! Guys!" called Bart.
"Hey, that sounds like Simpson!" cried Nelson.
Janey looked at me and Bart running towards them.
"Hey, you're right! It is Bart and Lisa!" Janey exclaimed.
"Guys, you gotta get ready for the grand finale!" I cried in a rushing voice.
"Huh? Grand finale?" asked Nelson curiously.
"What grand finale?" asked Ralph curiously.
"Shh!" Bart scowled. "It's supposed to be a surprise for everyone."
"Yeah." I agreed. "Milhouse has to make a toast."
"Can I butter it?" asked Ralph happily, as he jumped up and down.
I rolled my eyes and said, "No, Ralph. It's not that kind of toast. It's a speech that Milhouse has to make."
"Aw!" groaned Ralph sadly.
Milhouse ran over to his parents just as Luann bended down and hugged him tightly.
"Milhouse, you were wonderful out there!" said Luann happily, as she hugged Milhouse.
"Thanks, Mom. That was a great dance you and Dad did." said Milhouse, as he hugged Luann back. "We should do that again someday."
"Milhouse, whose idea was it to switch our song?" asked Kirk, as he bended down next to Milhouse.
"Uh… Well, I, uh…" stammered Milhouse.
"You better tell me right now because I'm gonna have a talk with the DJ after this party." Kirk said impatiently.
"It was me and my Mom's idea!" exclaimed Milhouse loudly.
"That's right, Kirk." laughed Luann, as she gave Kirk a hug. "We tricked you, but we still love you."
"I love you too, Luann." said Kirk, as he hugged Luann.
Milhouse looked at his watch and cried, "Uh-oh! I gotta get ready to make my toast!"
Then, he ran to his table and tapped on his glass with a spoon. Everybody looked at him.
"Uh, hi everybody." Milhouse said nervously, as he began to sweat.
He took a deep breath and announced, "This is Milhouse Van Houten speaking. I'd like to make a toast. Anyway, I'd like to thank you all for coming to my parents' wedding party today."
"Huh? What did he say?" asked Grandpa curiously.
"Dad, Milhouse is thanking us for coming to the wedding party." reprimanded Homer, looking all agitated.
"Oh! I just had a problem with my hearing aids." laughed Grandpa.
"I'm so happy that my parents are finally getting back together again. This has been the best day for me ever. If all of you didn't show up, I would be a poor groomsman by now." announced Milhouse happily.
Then, he picked up his glass and announced, "I would like to wish my parents, Luann and Kirk Van Houten a happy wedding! Cheers to them!"
Everyone clinked their glasses and drank them in one big gulp.
"Aah, alcohol, come to papa." mumbled Homer happily.
"And now, we have the grand finale coming up in just a few seconds!" Milhouse announced, as he put his glass down on the table.
"Huh? Grand finale?" said Marge curiously.
"What grand finale?" agreed Homer curiously.
"That's right, folks! The grand finale will be an extra special performance starring Bart, Lisa and all the kids who came to the party, and of course, including me! It's a song and it's about how siblings react to each other and you'll never forget it!" he announced continuously.
"Yep. You heard what Milhouse said." the DJ announced. "We hope you all like this grand finale you won't forget!"
Milhouse quickly ran to the dance floor and he saw an electric piano. Then, he sat on the chair, turned on the piano, cracked his fingers and began playing it. It started off with a gentle ballad.
"What?! I didn't know Milhouse can play the piano." exclaimed Kirk softly.
"Was this grand finale supposed to be for everyone?" asked Grandpa.
Bart and I were holding microphones in our hands as we walked on the dance floor with our friends.
"You ready for this, Lis?" asked Bart.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I said happily.
Just as everyone got to their places, they began to play with instruments softly as we began to sing.
"Our life is so confusing, no reason and no rhyme. We've got this funny feeling, getting old before our time." Bart and I sung softly.
Suddenly, the music changed to a hip-hop beat as Nelson played the drums really fast.
"Gimme what you got! Gimme what you got! I know what you got! Gimme what you got!" we sung loudly.
I stepped up to the audience and sang, "What kind of love brings such confusion?"
Bart took a step next to me and sang, "Shuts out the sun and kills all glee?"
Then, we held hands and sang, "What are these blues we're here to tell you? It's sibling rivalry!"
Then, everyone joined us and sang in a rushing voice, "I don't want to share! I want to make you nuts! Gimme what you got! Gotta have it all!"
"Sometimes I see her doing homework." sung Bart.
"I'm working hard all by myself." I sung.
"And who can stand a happy sister?" sung Bart curiously, as he shrugged.
"He hates I don't require help!" I sung, as I pointed to Bart.
"Ooh, ooh, ooh!" they all sung.
"I put a spider on her shoulder." Bart sung, as he placed a fake spider on my shoulder.
"Aah!" screamed Homer, as he went under the table.
"Oh, yeah! Ooh-ooh!" they all sung.
I flicked the fake spider off my shoulder and sang sarcastically, "I'm not aware that it is fake."
"Ooh, ooh, ooh!"
"I ask her what the heck that thing is." Bart sung, as he put two fingers above my head.
"Ew!"
The audience laughed as I looked at Bart and sang loudly, "I turn and start I scream and shake!"
"Scream and shake!"
Suddenly, the music changed from hip-hop to shuffle.
Bart slid on his knees and sang loudly, "Whyyyyyyy does it feel so good, my dear old fun? I know it's wrong to feel so mean, you… you should've hear her scream!"
Suddenly, Bart began laughing manically as he began chasing me around the dance floor.
"No, Bart!" I cried.
The audience began to laugh again.
"Ha, ha!" laughed Nelson, as he pointed his finger at me.
We quickly came back to our spot just as the music changed back to hip hop.
"I am not blameless in this equation." I sung.
"She likes to talk over my head." sung Bart.
"Poor Bart, his trials and tribulations." I sung sarcastically, as I rolled my eyes.
"Poor Bart!" they all shouted.
"Before a test, she makes me dread." sung Bart, as he pointed his finger at me.
"Ooh, ooh, ooh!" they all sung.
"'Cause I predict that he will fail." I sung, as I gave Bart a thumbs down.
"Gonna flunk, ooh-ooh!"
"I chase her down when she is right." Bart sung, as he put my hands behind my back.
"Ooh, ooh, ooh!"
I broke out of Bart's grip and sang, "When I refuse to just turn tail."
"Hold your ground, Lisa."
"We have our most outstanding fights!" Bart and I sung.
"Outstanding fights!"
Suddenly, the music changed to ballad.
"What kind of love brings such contusions?" I sung dramatically.
"All these band-aids the world can see?" sung Bart curiously, as he shrugged.
"What is this shame we're here to tell you?" Bart and I sung.
"It's sibling rivalry!" everyone else sung.
Then, we began to soften up again and sung softly, "A brother and a sister, we're trying not to boast. But we can't help believing that we'll always be this close."
"Take it away from here, guys." said Bart seriously.
Janey, Ralph, Milhouse, Nelson, Martin, Sherri and Terri, Rod and Todd and Mary sang, "Siblings find it, oh, so hard. When it comes to giving, if they once tried singing background for a living!"
Bart and I moved in closer as the music came to an end.
"A brother and a sister, we will always be this close…" we sung, as we hugged each other tightly.
"Aw." the audience sighed happily.
Then, we got a giant applause, still hugging each other.
"You're a good brother, Bart." I said, as I hugged him tightly. "Even though you drive me crazy and get into trouble."
"You're a good sister, Lisa." said Bart, as he hugged me tightly. "Even though you drive me crazy and try to get into trouble."
"That's our children, Homie." said Marge, as she began to cry tears of joy.
"You know what, honey? Maybe we're not such bad parents after all." said Homer, as he handed Marge a handkerchief.
Maggie looked at us and gave us a thumbs up. We looked at Maggie and winked at her.
"I love you, Bart and Lisa!" called Grandpa happily.
Note: Well, that's the end of chapter 38. I hope you liked it and please review! Once again, the song that Bart and Lisa sung was "Sibling Rivalry" from "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" soundtrack. When I first heard this song, I wanted to make this into a story. I really hope I can finish this story and possibly do a sequel! Maybe Fergus the 'werewolf' dog will return! Anyway, stay tuned for chapter 39!
THANK YOU & T.T.F.N.: Ta-ta for now!
