The rest of the days went by in a fast blur, and all Enjolras could remember was barely seeing Eponine for a week due to all the practices. He missed her terribly, and just wanted one moment to say hi. She hadn't texted him, and he barely had the skills to set up a text himself.

Surrounded by the chattering of people around him at the Musain, he whipped out his phone to try and attempt it, hopefully he'd succeed this time. Opening the text app on his iPhone, he tried to open a new conversation.

"Ummm…" he muttered. "Nope. Nope. Ah- no. Wait. Darn." He kept on making comments to himself as he tried to navigate his way through modern technology. People were starting to use digital textbooks on computers, but Enjolras always tried to stick to hard copies of information as often as possible. It was hard to, because lately, authors had been typing all the info onto the computers, and textbooks weren't up to date.

His fingers fumbled over the touch screen. Finally, he was able to open his contact list, and he selected Eponine's name. He typed out a message.

Enjolras: Hey Eponine! I haven't seen you in a long time. Do you want to get together at the Café Musain while I'm still free? Reply soon.

Enjolras waited, and sipped his coffee. Nothing like a nice hot drink in the spring rainy days. His phone dinged, and a few people around him took out their phones to see if it was their device making the sound. But Enjolras knew it was his. He took it out of his pocket eagerly to see the reply. A few seconds later, his face flushed with embarrassment.

Marius: IDK what you're playing , Enjy, but u definitely need 2 learn how 2 use ur phone correctly.

Enjolras: Ooops…. I thought I was sending a message to Eponine. What does IDK mean?

Marius: *face palm* Really, Enjolras? I don't know.

Enjolras: Then why did you use it?

Marius: What?

Enjolras: Why did you use IDK?

Marius: Oh, it means I DON'T KNOW. Eponine is the queen of the txting language, and if ur going 2 be her boyfriend, GET A HANG OF IT, ENJY.

Enjolras: Why are you calling me Enjy?

Marius: Because Cosette was.

Enjolras: Please tell her to politely shut up.

Marius: Hey! Don't b mean 2 her!

Enjolras: Bye.

Marius: Don't u dare leave me here in the middle of our txting conversation! Cosette is a beautiful girl, and u should appreciate that! Her fine golden hair is very soft, her eyes are big, blue and wide, she dresses perfectly, and EVERYTHING ABOUT HER IS PERFECT! She does not deserve to be told shut up at! ENJY!

Enjolras: Calm down, Marius. I was jk.

Marius: Oh, look. You used an abbreviation. Congrats.

Enjolras tried to send another message to Eponine.

Enjolras: Hey, Eponine. I was wndrng if u wnt 2 gt tghr 2day while I'm stll avlbl.

Eponine: What r u trying 2 say?

Eponine: Ur txt language is horrible. Sheesh.

Enjolras: Hey! Marius said the same thing!

Eponine: Y am I not surprised?

Eponine: JK! Luv u! 3

Enjolras: What does the less than 3 thingymabobber mean?

Eponine: OMG. Watever. I'll see u, like, tomorrow maybe?

Enjolras: Ok. Tomorrow.

Enjolras sighed. Tomorrow couldn't wait! It was going to be a long day. He stood up, threw the cup away, and strolled out the door of the Musain.

Night was approaching, and the sky was slowly getting darker. Enjolras peered up at the sunset. He should get home soon. He continued his way down the sidewalk. He checked his watch. In the darkness, the little screen glowed and read 7:30. It was later than he thought! His stroll turned into a slow jog. Then a run. Then a sprint. He flew down the street, and as he turned the corner, he crashed face first into Marius. Both fell to the ground, and Enjolras rubbed his head.

"Sorry, Marius!" he exclaimed. Marius groaned, then smiled.

"Nah, it's okay. I can't believe your texting language. It's hilarious what you said to Eponine." Marius laughed. Enjolras narrowed his eyes.

"How did you know what I was writing to Eponine?" he asked. Marius kept on laughing.

"She was at my place with Azelma and Gavroche because her parents were drunk again. At first, she went to your home, but you weren't there, and your parents are out. Then she went to my home as a second resort." Marius explained. Enjolras groaned. What a horrible person he was! Not being there when his girlfriend needed him? Marius seemed to read his thoughts. "It's okay, she understood that you needed a break. You're the quarterback, you work the hardest, while runner backs like me don't really do anything compared to your efforts."

Enjolras smiled at his pal. "Thanks, bud." They hugged, and patted each other on the back. Then Enjolras noticed the red lip marks on Marius' cheek, and Marius noticed his intense glare on his face. He blushed, and tried to rub the lipstick off his face, but Enjolras caught his hand before he could do any rubbing.

"What, exactly, is that?" Enjolras asked menacingly. He pointed at the lipstick with his free hand. Marius managed a small smile.

"Maybe Cosette was there too?" Marius squeaked. Enjolras relaxed his grip, and Marius quickly pulled his hand away, rubbing his wrist, and then rubbing his cheek to remove any trace of Cosette's lips. "Enjy, you're getting really paranoid about Eponine. I'm sure that she won't do anything to 'betray'" Marius made quotation marks in the air, "your relationship. She's not like that, and I've known her for seven years. Don't lose hope on her. She will never lose hope on you. Say, do you know how to get lipstick off of one's face?" Marius asked bashfully. Enjolras grinned widely.

"Nope!" he replied.

"So, 'Ponine, how's your life been doing? Actually how's Enjolras?" Cosette yipped. Eponine rolled her eyes. Azelma and Gavroche giggled.

"Life's been good." Eponine said simply. Cosette mock pouted.

"You still haven't answered my main question! How's Enjolras?"

"I thought your 'how is life' question WAS your main question!"

Cosette wagged a finger at her. "Don't avoid the topic, young lady!"

Eponine laughed. "I'm actually the same age as you, 'Sette. Maybe you're a bit older, but you still have no excuse to call me a young lady. I'm probably tougher than you both emotionally and physically."

Cosette rolled her eyes as well. "Yeah, right. So, how's Enjolras?"

Gavroche and Azelma were laughing a bit harder now. Marius had left them about fifteen minutes ago, and they were doing perfectly fine without him. Maybe Cosette had missed pecking his cheeks every once and a while, and Eponine, Gavroche, and Azelma missed rolling on the floor in laughter when he turned red, but gossip was equally as entertaining.

"He's doing well, but the football meets have been keeping him away from me. He's quarterback after all." Eponine replied. Cosette smiled.

"Well, I'm lucky my boyfriend is a runner back, so he doesn't have to be away as long." Cosette reached her arms out to her right to hug Marius, but he wasn't there. Cosette's eyes widened, and she toppled over sideways onto the floor. She landed with a thud, and while Eponine tried to help her up, Gavroche and Azelma had to run to the bathroom to contain their howls of laughter.
