Karaoke Night
DISCLAIMER AND CHARACTER OWNERSHIP: same as always. I don't own any of the songs referenced throughout this chapter.
"Deeks! Can you get the door? Tony and Ziva have arrived from their hotel!" Kensi exclaimed from the bathroom upon hearing the doorbell ring. The DC Agents had come to Los Angeles for a short vacation and Kensi and Deeks had taken it upon themselves to show the pair the city. They had been to Santa Monica Pier, Huntington Beach, Disneyland and countless others tourist attractions. Kensi and Deeks were at a loss of where to take Tony and Ziva tonight until Eric suggested karaoke. Jumping at the chance to sing in public, Deeks immediately agreed, causing Kensi to resign to the fact that she was going as well. "Deeks! Seriously, what are you doing?" Kensi called again as the doorbell rang.
"Sorry Kensilina," Deeks apologized, running past the bathroom and almost tripping over Azure in the process, "I was fixing up a few things in the baby's room."
Kensi's annoyance instantly deflated when she heard her husband's answer. "The baby will love you, just like I do now."
"I'm sure she will. I mean, how could she not? I'll be the coolest dad ever. I'll teach her surfing, how to properly style her hair and just be awesome." Deeks grinned before opening the door and ushering Tony and Ziva inside. "Was the drive over alright, guys?"
"Beats rush hour in DC." Tony commented, helping Ziva take off her jacket. "And the lack of snow, it's truly a beautiful thing."
"I seriously don't understand how you deal with those sub-arctic temperatures man." Deeks said to Tony as he passed him a beer. "I think I'd actually never thaw again."
"It's not that bad, Deeks." Kensi grinned, as she sat on the couch with Ziva. "Be thankful you guys aren't based in Norway or Denmark."
"Very true." Tony affirmed, taking a drink of his beer before exchanging in conversation with Deeks about which boss is more frightening: Gibbs or Hetty.
"Although Tony does exaggerate things, he is right about the lack of snow." Ziva told Kensi as she munched on one of Kensi's famous chocolate chip cookies. "One can dress comfortably in a few layers and not be cold, it reminds me of the climate in Israel."
"Los Angeles is good like that," Kensi stated, watching the palm trees sway in the January wind, "would you like to go back home, Ziva?"
"I would like to show Tony my birthplace and home as a child. He has only been exposed to government buildings during his travels to Israel." Ziva grinned, finding Tony's ability to always find trouble in her homeland rather humorous.
"Ladies," Tony interrupted smoothly, pulling Ziva into a kiss to avoid any chance of her injuring him somehow, "shall we depart?"
"If we must," Kensi sighed, feeling rather put out at the thought of leaving the warm couch, "but I'm taking the cookies with me."

"I love this song! Seriously, it's like the best workout jam ever. Marty, you're singing with me." Katie said before grabbing Deeks' hand and pulling him onstage. "Saw you leaning against that old record machine…"
"I didn't know that Deeks likes Ke$ha." Nell stated to Kensi, looking rather puzzled at the blond haired detective as he began to sing with his kid sister.
"I don't think he really does, to be honest." Kensi replied, whipping out her phone and recording a video of her husband's foray into the music world. "But this video will look amazing on Facebook."
"That man just lost the respect of his child." Sam commented, watching Deeks spin on the spot and wave to gathered crowd.
"Not even." Eric declared, wondering where exactly Deeks learned to moonwalk. "I wish I had moves like that."
"Don't worry, Eric. You've got moves as well." Nell smirked; her head turning to face Wyatt upon hearing the blond clear his throat rather loudly.
"That's my brother, Nell. I know you guys are going out, but really?" Wyatt moaned, downing the rest of his whiskey rather rapidly.
"I meant at the computer. Goodness Wyatt, mind in the gutter, much?" Nell questioned, a Cheshire cat like grin on her face.
"What happened?" Tony inquired, returning from the bar with Ziva, placing drinks in front of the team, and a virgin strawberry daiquiri in front of Kensi.
"Wyatt has a dirty mind." Eric said immediately, "We're thinking of telling Deeks to see what he does."
"Excellent." Tony simply stated, pulling a seat out for Ziva, "I look forward to the show."

About an hour later, Kensi and Nell had sung "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, garnering mass applause; Sam and Callen performed "YMCA" by the Village People, following a bet with Deeks that had gone horribly wrong and Wyatt and Katie crooned "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. Tony was currently fidgeting, waiting for his turn to sing. Perhaps he wasn't the greatest singer, but he was determined to make this song count, for Ziva. Placing the diamond ring in pocket, he drained the last of his gin and tonic and walked up on stage.
"This song goes out to Ziva David." Tony said, blinking as the bright stage lights momentarily blinded him, "You're the greatest partner anyone could ever have. I love you and thank you for choosing me. You've made me the luckiest man in the world, so I hope that this song will show that: I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy…"
Throughout the whole song, Ziva's eyes were locked on Tony's as he serenaded her. As the final notes of the song played, Tony got down on one knee and pulled out the engagement ring. Ziva stood up and walked towards the Special Agent in a seemingly trance like state as the whole karaoke bar held its breath. "Will you marry me, Ziva?" Tony asked hopefully, softly grabbing Ziva's hand.
"Of course Tony." Ziva replied, grinning from ear to ear as he slid the ring on her finger. She pulled him into a fierce hug as the whole place exploded with cheers.
"That was easily one of the most romantic songs of the 90s." Kensi sighed, leaning into Deeks' arms. "Savage Garden knew what was up."
"I'll sing you a 90s ballad next time, Angelfish." Deeks promised, clapping along for the newly engaged couple.

Hi all! So I wrote another chapter for you guys to make up for my impromptu hiatus. I wasn't about to have Tony and Ziva get engaged but once my fingers started typing, that was it. And in all seriousness, they would get engaged in my mind at some point if Cote hadn't left the series. Anyway, sorry again for the past delay! Please read and review when you guys get the chance, I didn't get that many reviews yesterday, and I love hearing your thoughts. Have a great weekend!
