Hatenai Sora
Don't Look Back

"...Wake up...Wake up, Hiro!"

With tears in his eyes, Hiroto slowly opened his eyes, greeted by a shaking Sumire, who was holding his hand. Next to her was Momoko, and a small blue and white slug, which he presumed was the Hokage's summon, Katsuyu. He was laying on the ground, amongst the rubble that was Konoha. Sitting up, he looked around at the destruction of their village, which was now a crater.

"...You can stop cryin', okay? I heard yo-"

He felt her arms around him, her body quivering. The man's eyes stared at the brunette who held him tightly, feeling the tears staining his dirty clothes.

"...Katsuyu said you were barely breathing...I didn't want to give up hope, so..."

He had forgotten. She never said goodbye to Kaimu. Hiroto knew she didn't want another repeat of this. He gently hugged her back, realizing she had never released him after a while. Her face was buried in his shoulder, still crying.

"Even if you two aren't talking to each other, she still wants you in her life. She will still love you, even if it isn't in that sort of way."

As Kakashi slowly approached the small group, his eye watched the concerned Hiroto hugging Sumire. If he allowed her to stay with him...Could that have been him? He watched the blond patting her head, before pulling away, saying something to her. Kakashi's eyes met with Hiroto's as the other jounin reluctantly turned the kunoichi to face him.

"...Go back to him," he whispered. "He needs you more than I do,"

Reluctantly standing up, Sumire walked back to Kakashi with Momoko following her. Sitting there, Hiroto had felt the white slug healing him, as he recalled Kaimu's words to him once more. He...needed to think twice about what the man said. Holding his bracelet, Hiroto had laid back down and let out a sigh.

"What on earth did you mean?" he muttered, trying to hold back his tears.

"I have to leave again,"

Sumire looked at Kakashi thoughtfully, as they were walking together. She was holding Kaishou, while the village had slowly began reconstruction. As they approached the remains of her and Kaimu's house, she stared at it for a while, taking in the sight. His eye glanced at her, watching her expression trying to hold back the tears. He reached out to try and hug her, before her head turned to face him, smiling.

"I'm used to this by now," she simply replied. "...Don't worry,"

"Every time you say that, it makes me worry even more," he remarked, mirroring that smile.

"I have Kaishou and Momoko, remember?" the kunoichi laughed. "...You kept your promise. That's all that matters to me,"

Giving her a solemn look, Kakashi slowly hugged the brunette, whispering something into her ear. He released her, before she looked up at him, with a thoughtful look on her face.

"Can't be now?" she questioned. "We are technically alone," she huffed.

"No," he replied. "After,"

Sumire reluctantly nodded at the older male, before he leaned over to her, pulling down his mask to give her a brief kiss. He smiled at her for a moment, before gently patting their son in the head, as the child tried to reach out to hug the man. Kakashi gently patted the child in the head, looking over at Sumire who was still curious about what he wanted to say to her.

"Don't worry," he remarked. "...When that time comes, I think we'll really need that alone time," he nodded, pulling up his mask.

Watching him walk away, Sumire let out a sigh, while waving goodbye to him. Turning to face her home, she closed her eyes for a moment. Her home was now gone. However, as she looked at the remains of Kaimu's house, she wanted to cry. The last of her memories of Kaimu was gone for good. It was frustrating. Hugging her child tightly, she knelt down, feeling the tears flowing down her face.

"Ah... This happened," her father muttered, approaching her, and taking off his ANBU mask, looking at the sight of their destroyed home.

"Otousan..." Sumire muttered, getting up and quickly wiping her tears away. "Okaasan was looking for you, you know!"

"Sumire," he began, pulling out a folded white piece of paper. "Give this to her...I only came here to see what was left of our house," he said, watching his daughter take the paper and slowly walking away from her.

"W-Wait!" the kunoichi called out to him. "...What will happen to you? Okaasan said...I'm going to officially take over the family now,"

Naoki looked at his daughter with a thoughtful look on his face, before looking over at the curious Kaishou, who eyed his grandfather. His stern look had slowly softened up in front of the child, thinking about what to say to his daughter. He wanted to say it. However, he didn't want her to get involved or hurt in this. Instead, Naoki looked at Sumire with a serious look on his face, trying to keep the woman reassured.

"...I can't say it," he nodded. "...Though, I'm a bit happy that you ended up with him out of all people. Kaishou will be a strong boy when he's older. I wished you actually held a wedding...Wouldn't mind walking you down that aisle,"

Her eyes widened, before Naoki held out another thing to her. It was a second letter addressed to her. Taking the letter from him, the older Koyama soon poofed into thin air, making the woman grip the letter tightly. She closed her eyes, and faced her destroyed home.

…She needed to take a stand.

Poof!

In the Koyama Head House in Kumogakure, eyes stared at the red bird that had a scroll on its back. With a purple flower on the scroll, the older man furrowed his eyebrows looking at the summon that appeared before him. The current head of the Koyama family: Koyama Masaya. As the man took the scroll from the summon, a woman came into the room, curious about what was going on.

"Grandfather. Is that Sumire-sama's?" one of the women questioned, crossing her arms over her chest.

It was Sumire's younger cousin, Taiga's daughter, who gave a peeved look at the sight of the scroll.

"...We have to keep our communications low," her grandfather noted, looking at the note sent to him. "There was an attack on Konoha and Naoki-kun has left. Right now...He wants Sumire-san to take over. Obviously, if he has passed on his leadership role to his daughter, this means something quite serious had happened. I don't want Sumire-san to be in danger, "

Peering over his shoulder at the written note, the other women read it quietly to herself. She quietly wandered towards the door once more to leave her grandfather alone, before looking back at him.

"You know..." the woman began."...She has a child with the Copy Nin...Or so I heard. Once the fighting has gone down, are you going to have her come live with us?" she questioned.

Her grandfather's eyebrows furrowed at the thought of it. He had heard of that nickname before. Rolling up the scroll, he looked into the eyes of the crimson bird, studying its' expressions. He knew from its' eyes that something terrible had happened in Konoha. As he looked at his other granddaughter, who remained in the room, Masaya began to wander towards his desk, getting a calligraphy brush and some ink to reply back to Sumire.

"...If that's true...it's for the best. If Naoki-kun couldn't raise up Sumire-san here, we will have her child be raised here. They will be the next heir after all, knowing their lineage," he said.

Closing the scroll, the older man looked at the bird thoughtfully, before sending it on its' way back to Konoha.

"...After all, she will probably end up being alone,"
