The next morning Doc woke up Naomi her room was cleared of all her personal belongings except the clothes she had chosen the night before. She got herself dressed while Doc took care of a few last-minute items. Naomi sat on the bed waiting for Doc to return she was surprised when the door opened, and Doc wasn't there it was Kaname Naomi looked at him in a state of shock. Kaname closed the door and sat next to her as she looked at him in disbelief. Kaname said, "Don't say anything until I finish." Once he received a nod, he continued, "I have failed in our agreement every aspect of it, yet you have kept yours. You even were cautious not sharing anything when you were found in the village. The only one you have ever thought of is me, and I am truly touched by your level of commitment to me." He took her hand in his whispering, "Takuma tells me there is something important you needed to tell me."
Naomi turned slightly replying, "I don't want to ruin your plans with Yuki remember I promised when you took her to be your lover that we'd just be friends. Please don't make this harder on me than it has to be returned to Yuki I will be fine there is no need to worry Kaname."
Kaname had no idea what was going on all Takuma would tell him was that it was important to hear the secret she kept from him and that she'd be reluctant to tell him due to fear. Kaname wondered what she could fear from him but decided to press her. He took his hand and turned her to face him saying, "Why don't you share what it is, and let me decide what to do."
Naomi bit her lip whispering, "Telling you changes everything, and I have no idea what the vampire rules are about this." She sighed she had a feeling he wasn't going to let this go, so she looked at him asking, "What are the rules when a woman falls in love with a pureblood that she's not engaged to?"
Kaname sighed he had been worried about this being her secret he replied, "It depends on the pure blood in my case I will admit to being torn between the two of you. I care about both of you and don't want to hurt either. At the same time, I don't want to fail in my duty to carry on my pure-blood family line."
Naomi sighed saying, "Go back to Yuki, Kaname I am sure eventually my heart will love someone else." She hoped that would be enough, and that he'd quit pressing for more but at the same time she knew she'd feel better if she told him everything.
Kaname was about to get up and leave when he remembered what Takuma had told him, "Kaname he said promise me you won't leave until you have heard all her secrets. Whatever you do don't leave after she tells you she loves you." He wondered why what else could there be other than a confession of feelings. It had to be important if Takuma made him promise not to leave.
Kaname turned to her deciding to stop playing cat and mouse. He said, "I don't know why but Takuma made me promise not to leave until you told me all your secrets. He also told me not to leave after you confessed your feelings, so the secret has to be something else."
He sighed pulling her onto his lap and held her close to him; he could feel her body tremble, and see tears falling. He wondered what was it about this secret that upset her so. He held her soothing her waiting for her to compose herself enough to tell him. When all that did was soothe her, and now the room was silent he said, "What can't you tell me Naomi who are you afraid of that you can't tell me everything?"
She looked at him replying, "I am afraid of you Kaname, and what you will do when I tell you. How can I trust any promise you give me when you have already broken two. I really would like to share with you Kaname the choice to keep it from you weighs on me Doc thinks it would be better if I share with you even my Mother agrees that I should share with you but I just can't do it."
Kaname felt incredibly guilty it was his fault she couldn't tell him. He gave her reason to distrust him, and now she feared sharing something with him because of that. That was when an idea came to him Doc had told him that if he needed to he could take a little of her blood. Doc even had given him a blood tablet for her to drink afterward. It seemed Doc knew she wouldn't be able to tell him but her blood would, and she wouldn't know that it would so he doubted she would deny him one last request. The question was what would he do with the information once he had it what was so important for him to know that Takuma made him promise to find out. He shifted her so that she lay on the bed underneath him asking, "May I ask one more favor of you Naomi?"
When she nodded her reply he said, "I would like to taste your blood Doc gave me your medicine so that it wouldn't hurt you any." He took his time to look in her eyes; he could see she was hurt by what he had done, but love was still there. He was thrilled when she nodded her head he moved her hair gently off of her neck. He touched, and kissed her neck before licking to feel for her vein. He smirked as she tilted her head for him it gave him hope that trust could be reestablished if he chose to pursue a relationship with her. He sunk his fangs into her soft flesh he loved the soft moan he had heard come from her.
