Chapter 37 for all you Klayley lovers! I am so glad that I can continue writing this story. It is far from over and I can guarantee that I am thinking of continuing it for as long as I can because in this break, I got lots of ideas and I made sure to write them down.

As you know, in the last chapter, everything has indeed changed. Davina is not well regarding health and we will see what this is all about in this chapter.

Hayley, our main heroine, is on her verge of cracking up after she saw how Klaus constantly defends Camille and hopefully, we will see why, as Hayley and Camille will have a not so pleasant chat with each other.

Kiana is safe and sound in her home, for now, with Kol and Elijah guiding and caring for her while Klaus and Marcel have some unfinished business. The three best friends, Hayley, Rebekah and Katherine team up in order to get rid of the darkness and new trouble in New Orleans.

After Klaus stormed out of the house, after threatening Rebekah to stay away from Camille, I began feeling a little uneasy; that there were some things that I just couldn't understand.

I picked up Kiana in my arms and started rocking her. I was pacing in the living room, still holding my daughter and trying hard to rest my head, only concentrating on the beating of my daughter's heart.

Katherine was picking her nails and Rebekah was staring at me, crossed legged on the couch. "You're going to make me sick if you keep doing that, Hayley. Try to take it easy. Being a hybrid has you running lots of emotions now, even without being pregnant." Rebekah said.

I couldn't reply. I simply stayed there on the couch with her after a while, but continued to rock Kiana. "What is Klaus hiding?" I wondered out loud. Katherine snorted.

"What isn't he hiding?" I rolled my eyes.

"It isn't like that. There was a time, even when we didn't hold any feelings for one another, there was a time when we told each other everything, we felt like we were the only people we could trust with each other's secrets and desires. Now I feel like things have drastically changed. I don't even know what to believe anymore when it comes to Camille. That girl is no longer the girl that I knew once I moved here. She's changed. My question is why? Why does she want to hurt me and Kiana?"

"I thought you said that she wants to get rid of supernatural beings." Rebekah commented. I nodded. "That is what she told me that day. She took advantage of my state when I was in transition and pretty much told me what she is planning to do."

Katherine tapped her chin. "I wonder why Matt, of all people, is her little helper." Rebekah gritted her teeth. "It only makes sense. He was my fling. We used to have make out sessions, we slept together, we got drunk together, who knows how many of my and my family's secrets I have spilled?"

Rebekah's confession pretty much shocked both of us. "We need to get as much information as we can." I told them. Katherine put down the bottle of scotch she was trying to empty and stood up.

"Look, girls. I just don't understand one thing. Who on Earth is offering Camille and Matt protection so they won't easily get run down by all supernatural beings, vampires, werewolves and even hybrids?"

"Father Kieran." I replied, matter-of-factly. Rebekah shook her head. "I don't think so. That guy may be a priest but I don't think that he would have that kind of power to keep two humans and even himself safe."

"Matt had a lot of courage when he grabbed my vampire arm and threatened me, Hayley and her child." Katherine pointed out. I nodded, when I remembered eavesdropping on their conversation in the bar.

"Not to mention that I have seen how close Father Kieran has become to both Klaus and Marcel. I do not think for one moment that Father Kieran could be up to something as long as he is in Marcel's sight and even Klaus'." I explained.

"Maybe this is why Father Kieran is getting so close to the two most powerful supernatural creatures in town. Maybe he is trying to win their trust in order to not suspect him or his niece even the slightest." Katherine replied and I knew that there was a lot of truth in those words of hers.

I stood up and called out, "Elijah!"

He came downstairs almost immediately and I picked up Kiana, putting her in his arms. "She is your responsibility for the day." I told him, not bothering to even ask because I knew that Elijah would do just about anything for his niece.

Elijah smiled and hugged my little girl. "She's safe with me. Where are you three going?" he asked. Katherine just gave him a quick peck on the lips and headed out the door.

Rebekah and I followed her out. Kol and Davina were watching us from the window upstairs. I just waved at them and couldn't help but spot that Davina was not feeling well at all, but thought that as the most powerful witch ever in existence, she would be able to overcome it.

"We need to speak to Father Kieran." I informed Katherine and Rebekah.

Bourbon Street was pretty quiet and I had to take full advantage of that.

Rebekah and Katherine followed me as we made our way to Saint Anne's Church, determined to get a hold of Father Kieran and ask him a couple of questions and hopefully, Camille and Matt wouldn't be there, or maybe we would catch them in the act which would be even better for us.

"How are we going to play this, Werewolf Queen?" Rebekah asked me. Ever since she found out that I was in fact the real ruler of werewolves now, she has this habit of calling me Werewolf Queen, whenever she can.

At times, I like it, but when I am stressed out, it is what I call irritating. I shrugged, not quite thinking it through.

"I say we go full board swat team on him." Katherine suggested and I shook my head.

"We'll be in the church. We have to take it easy on him. If we're right and he does have that kind of power on him, then we need to be as careful as possible. Now, follow my lead and let's get this show on the road."

I told them as we approached the church and I quietly opened the door, it creaking a little and led the girls inside, closing it afterwards. What I saw in front of my eyes was really not expected.

Klaus was there with Marcel. They were talking and in the back stood Father Kieran with his hands behind his back as if letting the two debate something. Rebekah's eyes lit up when she saw Marcel, but he didn't smile back at her as she smiled at him.

I nudged Rebekah hard and she stopped. Katherine crossed her hands over her chest and let out a sigh. Klaus looked at me straight in the eyes, mortified. I started walking down the aisle, getting closer to them by the second.

Rebekah and Katherine followed me. I stopped right in front of Klaus and looked at him straight in the eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing, little wolf. Why have you left our daughter at home to come here?" "I didn't leave her. She's with Elijah, Kol and Davina, the perfect protection party. Now, if you'll excuse me, Rebekah, Katherine and I have come here in order to ask the priest some questions." I told him and his eyes widened.

"What is this, Hayley? It is about Camille, isn't it?" "It is none of your business."

"IT IS DAMN WELL MY BUSINESS!" Klaus ragged and even Marcel took a step back in surprise. Father Kieran stepped forward to us as tears started filling up in my eyes, but I did not even dare to let them fall on my face.

I was not weak and I refused to stoop down to that level. Father Kieran pushed Klaus out of the way and touched my arm. I looked up at him, ready to pull my arm away but he looked concerned.

"I have a room upstairs and I can make you a cup of tea. You and your friends can ask me whatever questions you may like."

He motioned for Rebekah, Katherine and I to follow him and we did, calmly. Klaus didn't do or say anything, he just stood there stupefied and I didn't even try to figure him out. I just wanted him to leave me alone. Rebekah looked just as disappointed as I looked after that look of no interest she got from Marcel.

"What is wrong with them? Secrets…they look possessed." she whispered as Father Kieran led them so some attic.

"The little witch Davina used to stay here, before she moved in Marcel's mansion." Father Kieran said to us as we sat down on a very comfy bed and watched him pour each of us cups of tea.

"Thank you." I whispered, surprising myself, my suspicions of him getting smaller by the second. "You are very welcome, lady Labonair." Father Kieran said to me.

"What?" I nearly spilled out all of my tea.

"That is your real last name, isn't it? It's not Marshall; it is Labonair, from your biological parents. They were leaders of the bayou werewolf clan once, before…they were slaughtered. I appreciated them so much." Father Kieran was saying.

I cut him off. "You don't like supernatural beings. You and your niece consider us abominations and want to get rid of us once and for all!" What I said really caught him off guard.

"Heavens no! Never. I would never think that, Hayley. I appreciate supernatural beings. I have lived among them almost all my life. I've always liked to balance things between us humans and the supernatural. I would never do something in which to destroy that balance, I only wish to perfect it and that is why I am meeting Marcel and Klaus more often than usual. This is what we are debating. We wish this war between the supernatural and the humans to disappear."

"What war? There has been no war. We would have all known about it." Katherine challenged him.

"That is what you think. The war between the supernatural and humans is always silent and when it starts, it is really hard to pull back from the temptation that you might win."

Something kicked inside of me. Plenty of ideas floated into my head. "Are the witches participating in this silent war?" I asked. Father Kieran had an uneasy expression on his face.

"Hard to figure out, but most likely yes." "And on what side are they on? Because as far as I am concerned, they hate vampires, but they are pretty supernatural themselves."

"The witches like to see what advantages they might have when they get on one side. They choose carefully, but it could pretty much be any side. Human or vampire."

Father Kieran concluded as he finished his tea. His brows furrowed.

"Is this why you came here? You are worried about this possible human-vampire war?" "More like human-supernatural war, in which the odds aren't exactly in your favor." Katherine said, smirking and I gave her a little kick in the leg.

"Father Kieran, what do you know about your niece's whereabouts lately?" He looked even more surprised that I asked that.

"Cami?"

"Apparently, the bartender prefers to be called Camille now and has a pretty surprising change in attitude. You wouldn't happen to know whatever could be wrong with her, would you?" Rebekah asked and I knew that she wanted to compel him but the Father was always on vervain, even with the trust and support he has from the vampires in town.

"I really don't know anything about what is going on in her life right now. She is pushing me away when I am only trying to help. I think that she is in trouble but I don't know what I could do to help her. I wish that she would leave town, and go back to San Francisco to live with her parents. I am starting to think that this town is too dangerous for her, especially after her brother's death. Her parents must be really worried about her."

"I am sure that she is more than capable of taking care of herself." Katherine said but there was something really itching in her tone that I had to give her a look of warning once again.

"She has a new boyfriend, Matt and he seems to be taking care of her needs all the time…he also happens to be my ex." Rebekah informed Father Kieran. He looked once again surprised.

"Why don't I know about him?"

I leaned in closer to him and said, "I realize from our conversation that you are a good person, Father and I trust that you will do whatever it takes in order to keep this town safe and in balance. Your niece is out of control unfortunately. She is not the person that I once knew and I am really worried about her. You need to keep a closer eye on her and find out what she might be hiding. It is important to us and her safety is also important to us, which is why you need to figure out what's wrong."

Father Kieran took a big breath and then, nodded.

"I shall do just that. Oh, and don't worry about Klaus or Marcel eavesdropping on our conversations. This room is soundproof and no vampire can hear anything going on in here. Apparently, Davina did some spell once she was in here. Clever girl, she is. I am upset she's gone. Would have kept me some pleasant company around here, but I am sure that marcel is taking good care of her. She is a very important person in his life, just like Cami is a very important person in mine."

I nodded, stood up, shook his hand and walking out the door.

Just as I thought, Klaus hadn't moved from the spot and neither had Marcel. I walked out with father Kieran, Rebekah and Katherine behind me. I stood my ground and refused to look in Klaus' eyes.

"I have answered all the girls' questions, now you may proceed with telling me what you've decided to do." Father Kieran said, giving me a wink. Klaus caught it and his face hardened even more.

"Actually, I think it is better if we postpone." Marcel said in a quiet voice, grabbing Rebekah's arm and zipping them out of the church. I knew that they had a lot to talk about. I just hoped that Rebekah would be careful with what she was saying to her lover.

I knew perfectly well that Marcel and Rebekah were in love and would do anything for each other, but in these kinds of wars, nothing was certain. Katherine looked at me for once moment and I gave her the sign that told her she could go.

She nodded and zoomed out of the church using her own vampire speed. It was just Klaus, Father Kieran and I now. "Father, what were these questions that Hayley asked you to answer for her?" Klaus asked, looking at a wall.

I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrows. "Look, Klaus, they were just wondering what is going on in this town. It would help if you would tell the woman you love the truth about everything." Father Kieran said, before he disappeared into the darkness.

Klaus just stood there and I looked at him for a moment.

"Do you have something to say, or should I just be on my way now and let you do whatever the hell you wish to do with the empire you want to rule and with Camille?" I snapped, bitterness in my tone.

Klaus sighed, turning around and pulling me to him, pressing his lips against mine, hungrily. I was shocked, not expecting this. He kissed down my jaw line and pushed me against the wall, starting to kiss his way down to my breasts.

He then looked up with sorrow in his eyes as he kissed me lightly on the lips once more, while I responded, passionately. I reached my hands out to cup his face between them.

"Klaus, we're in a church." I whispered, disapproving of what he was about to do. He rubbed his finger against my cheek and kissed it tenderly.

"I missed you, my love. I don't care if we're in a church."

"Missed me? Not long ago, you would have done everything for Camille. What is it that you are pulling here, Klaus? I am not those prissy girls you can trick into thinking something which isn't what it seems. I am not that kind of person."

Klaus just continued to nod. "I am well aware of who you are, little wolf. You are unique, and that is why I love you."

My expression softened when I heard the sound of his voice saying once again those three words.

I placed my hands on his chest and said, "Now tell me what is happening. Please. Why are you acting like this with me? What do you have going on with Marcel? What does Father Kieran have to do with any of this?"

He looked at me and gently rubbed my back. "I have set the plan in motion, Hayley. I am finally taking over New Orleans and Father Kieran is helping me." My eyes widened.

"How is the priest helping you?" "He has plenty of connections, love. Don't underestimate him."

"I'm not. Just a little while ago, I figured out what a sweet and noble man he really is. He is not an enemy to me or others…but someone else is." Klaus frowned a little but understood who I was talking about. He opened his mouth to speak but I caught him off.

"I don't want to talk about her anymore. I stand by my decision to consider her someone who plots against us and the evidence continues to point in her direction. It's not something that I want to happen, but you really should know that I don't trust Camille anymore and I never will again, after everything she said to me and after everything Matt said to Katherine. You can choose to believe me or not, but I no longer wish to fight on the subject. You do your thing, Klaus and take over the town for the greater good you believe will do to New Orleans and maybe all of Louisiana and I will continue to take care of the Royal Werewolf Clan, to which I happen to be the new Queen, as well as finding more evidence regarding Camille wanting to hurt our child and wanting to ruin me and my reputation."

Klaus looked at me in the eyes and the expression on my face was searching more than just understanding, it was also searching for belief, and I knew that from someone like Klaus, I had to wait for the truth to finally be revealed in order for him to believe.

That was just the way he was and I was in no position to try to change that. I was not going to change who he was.

He ran his hand through my hair and whispered, "When I get this city, everything will change and every problem will be solved." I looked at him, intensely. "I hope you're right."

We stayed wrapped in each other's arms until I whispered. "Are you ready to betray him? Marcel?" Klaus looked unsure and I understood why.

For some reason, the fact that he raised Marcel as his own son, seemed to make him want to step away and let him rule New Orleans but the bigger fact that this city was the one he and his family built, meant for him to rule, made him step up and take this to a whole new level to get it back for himself and for all of us.

"I will do what I have to do, Hayley. If Marcel will be able to ever understand and forgive me, then I will gladly let him stay, stay at my side. If not…he is to be banished. There are no other options."

"What about Rebekah? She's your sister and my dear best friend; I thought you cared for her and for her happiness. She would be heartbroken if Marcel would start to hate her because of you. She loves him and he loves her." Klaus smirked.

"I thought that bus boy had more influence on her. I saw the way she looked at him at that dinner party when he came with Camille." Just hearing him say her name, made my heart sink but I kept it straight up.

"Rebekah never loved Matt the way she loves Marcel." I told him and he nodded. "And the thing with Matt was…" "…just an infatuation, as Elijah would put it." I finished the sentence.

"Rebekah is strong. She cared for many men in her one thousand years of existence and I have killed almost all of them, worrying that they would end up hurting her. She managed to get passed that."

"And yet that is the reason why she tries so hard not to get attached to people and fails. Please, Klaus, whatever you do with marcel or how you do it, please don't do something to hurt Rebekah. Marcel is her one true love. She will never be able to recover from losing him. I can guarantee you that." "I'll do my best, love."

There was a noise and Klaus snapped his head towards the door. Some humans have started entering the church, ready to pray. Some glance at them, but didn't really care.

I kissed his soft lips and whispered, "I'll see you at home." before pulling away and heading out of the church.

Marcel and Rebekah haven't left the church's side and as I came out of that church as more and more humans started pouring inside, I noticed them standing and talking just a few miles away from me.

As a hybrid, I could now have no problem, learning what they were talking about, especially that they couldn't see me, with all the humans swarming inside Saint Anne's Church.

"I just want you to be safe. Nik wants you to be safe. If you are going to get into something with the witches, then don't let Camille blind your judgment, Marcellus." Rebekah was telling him and Marcel frowned just like Klaus had inside when I mentioned how I still believed Camille to be the enemy in this situation.

"Rebekah, you know I love you, but your accusations when it comes to Cami are pushing things way too far. You are exaggerating."

"Am I? And for the record, she is Camille now. The Cami we all knew is gone. She has been acting more than weird ever since Matt came into town and now they are together…"

Marcel started laughing but it wasn't that kind of laugh in which a person considers something funny. It was the kind of laugh which suggested "Are you for real?"

Rebekah looked at him in disbelief and Marcel stopped laughing, his expression now hardening. "So, this is what it is all about, isn't it? This is about that Matt character right? You are jealous of him finding more interest in Cami now. You still want to be with him."

Rebekah's mouth dropped. "That is not true! How can you even say that after everything that has happened between us? I have loved and cared for you for more than three hundred years, ever since Nik found you and saved you from slavery. How could you think that I still want Matt?"

"Because you are impulsive and when you do reckless things, you need to be with a person who is willing to just let you do what you want and when you want it without complaining, someone more safe, and that person is him, not me."

"Marcel, come now! You are the one being reckless here and trying to deny any reason for you to believe that I love you with all my heart. I want to be with you, always and forever!" Rebekah almost cried out.

Marcel looked at her in the eyes for one moment and I was hoping that he would break down and apologize but he didn't.

Instead, he said "I think your brothers are right about us. Maybe we should take this down a notch." he said and with that, he left Rebekah standing there, tears welling up in her eyes. I crossed over the street reached her in a matter of seconds. She looked surprised and startled when I touched her arm, trying to comfort her.

"Are you okay?" I whispered and pulled her in for a hug. "How long have you been standing there, listening, Hayley?" Rebekah asked during our embrace as she finally let her tears fall down on her cheeks.

She was more sensitive than I thought. For a tough bitch like her, you would have thought that she would do a better job at standing up to men and she would have told Marcel off in a flash, but her sensitivity at this moment actually proved how much she loved Marcel.

As Rebekah stayed limp in my arms, I remembered the conversation Klaus and I had in the church. Okay, maybe this was for the best, at least until Klaus would take over.

If Marcel and Rebekah were truly meant to be, they would find their way back to each other.

For now, the plot to take down Marcel still stood and I had to find a way to tell Rebekah now that her and Marcel were on stand-by. I was thinking of telling her right at that moment but just then, my phone rang and we pulled apart from our embrace.

"Hello?" "Hayley, it's Kol. Something is really wrong with Davina. She has fever and she is not feeling well. I don't know what to do. Katherine and Elijah can't do anything to help either."

Rebekah gasped, hearing the conversation.

"Okay, Rebekah and I will be home shortly. Take her to her room and make her lie down on her bed and place some ice on her forehead, hopefully that should make her feel better." I told him and then hit END CALL.

"What do we do?" Rebekah asked. "We do the only thing we can do." I told her and dialed another number.

"Hayley, I'm really busy." Sophie said as I heard pots and pans going crazy so she must have been in the bar. "Sophie, this is important. Davina is sick. She has a high fever and we don't know what's wrong with her. She needs help, Sophie. Please!" I exclaimed.

There was some silence followed by a sigh. "Okay. I suppose I have no choice then. She is pretty much my family. Camille, would you please take care of the customers while I'm gone?"

"Sure thing." Just hearing Camille's voice made me growl, but thankfully, it was something soft coming out of my mouth and with all the noise from the Devereux bar, it was hard to hear almost anything.

"I'll be at your place in fifteen minutes. Take care, Hayley." Sophie told me before she hung up.

Rebekah and I were already starting to walk down the street. We would have used our super speed to get to the house much faster but I had one more call I needed to make. "Love, what's wrong?"

"Davina is wrong. Klaus, she's terribly ill. Please, come home. She needs us." "I'll be there as soon as I can." he tried to reassure me, but why did I get the feeling that he would show up in a couple of hours?

After all, his business of taking over New Orleans was more important than tending to a girl who's only useful to him due to her power. Nothing and no one, not even Kiana, would ever be able to change that.

My call to Klaus was short and then we used our vampire speed to get ourselves to Davina much quicker than usual. "Where is she?" I asked Elijah as soon as I saw him pacing in the living room.

Katherine was feeding Kiana a bottle of milk. I was grateful that she was doing that for me so I shot her a smile. "She is upstairs in her room. Kol set her down on her bed, just as you have instructed and he is with her.

Go! Sophie Devereux will be here soon." I frowned. "How did you know that?"

"Because I called her pretty much after she stopped speaking to you. She seemed annoyed that we were dragging her and apparently pushing her, but as always she is doing her duty."

Rebekah sat down next to Katherine, looking at Kiana in her arms, giggling at both of her aunts spoiling her. "Have you been crying?" Katherine asked Rebekah, this time in a serious and not a mocking tone.

Rebekah was surprised at her sudden interest and concern. "I'm okay. Thanks for your concern. I didn't think that you had something like that for others." Rebekah said, smiling a little and Katherine nudged her playfully.

"Whatever Marcel problem you have, it will work out in the end. Trust me on that." Katherine told her. I headed upstairs, smiling at the way they were bonding and starting to become close friends.

I opened the door to Davina's room and there she was, sitting on the bed with Kol holding her hand and whispering something which comforted her a lot. "Hayley!" she exclaimed, excitedly as I sat down on the bed next to Kol.

"Thanks for abandoning whatever mission you had and came. I don't know what to do." Kol said to me and I patted his arm.

"Sophie will be here soon and will inspect her. I need to have a word with her anyway so I am glad she's coming." I looked over at Davina and noticed her smiling, weakly.

"How are you holding up, squirt?" I asked. Davina yawned and said, "I feel better that you two are here. But I don't know what could be wrong with me, Hayley, because if I knew, I would have been able to fix myself up, but I just don't know."

"Sophie is coming and will check it out herself. She is a really smart witch, Davina. She'll figure it out." "I know." Davina whispered. There was a knock on the door and Sophie entered with Elijah behind her.

"Sabine and the others really couldn't come. Believe me, I have tried to convince them, but nothing I could do would get them out of their work. Hey, Davina."

"Hi, Sophie." Davina croaked and felt something in the pit of her stomach which is why she started moaning in pain. "Okay. Okay. Let me see what I can do." Sophie said, setting down the potions she brought with her and asked all of us to leave the room.

Elijah had to literally pull Kol out of there. I heard Sophie chanting something in Latin and then, Davina started chanting with her. I figured it was best to leave them both do their own things.

"Where is Niklaus, Hayley?" Elijah asked me. "I have no idea. He said that he would come home soon, but he's not here yet."

Just when I said that, Klaus had burst through the front door, his phone at his ear.

"Yes, I know, Marcel. Just do what you do best and we'll figure out later. I still have some things I need to straighten out so…yes, I know! Take care of it yourself. You're the self-proclaimed King of this bloody town, after all." Klaus exclaimed and ended the call when he saw me running down the stairs to greet him.

He put his phone in his pocket as I jumped into his arms. "How is Davina?" he asked and I might have picked up a certain type of concern in his voice.

"She is fine now that she has all of us here, concerned. You know how much she likes the attention." I said, giggling.

Klaus placed a kiss on my lips before moving to the living room and picking up Kiana in his arms. I watched him play with her and whisper sweet stuff in her ear about how much he loves her and would do anything for her.

"I think we should all go back upstairs and see our little patient." I suggested and Klaus, still holding Kiana, followed me upstairs. "Does Marcel suspect that Davina is not with him once again?" I asked Klaus.

He shook his head. "He has more important things to take care of right now, than to look after that girl. He is also really pissed off at the moment that I do not dare ask him anything about what happened."

I knew immediately that it was because of that rough fight he had with Rebekah over Matt and Camille, but I didn't want to get Rebekah into new disagreements with Klaus so I kept it as quiet as I could.

Davina was sitting on her bed and Sophie was next to her, rubbing her back. The three of us entered the room and closed the door behind us. Davina looked surprised but serious to see Klaus standing there before her.

She wasn't really fond of him and the feeling was somewhat mutual. But still, Klaus gave Kiana to me, bending down so they would be on the same eye level as he spoke, "How are you feeling?"

"Better, thanks to Sophie." Davina said with an emotionless expression on her face. "Davina, you may think all you want of me, but just know that I can about your survival."

"If I am useful to you, of course I am." "It's not just about that. It is about Kol too. You have made a great impact on his life. For that, I am grateful and don't intend on ruining it. So, for his sake, get better."

Klaus' little speech really surprised me and I couldn't help but smile. It was something beyond sweet and generous for Klaus to do. He turned around and met my eyes.

I mouthed thank you to him and he smiled standing up and taking baby Kiana into his arms and surprisingly, placing her in Davina's arms. "I hope my daughter can make you feel better."

The moment Kiana touched Davina's arm, there was a rush of warmth that spread through all of us and especially through Davina herself. "This can't be possible." Sophie whispered as she stared.

"What is happening?" Klaus demanded to know. "Until now, someone had been trying to drain Davina of her powers. I helped her recover the best I could but it seems your daughter is doing a hell of a better job." Sophie answered.

"What do you mean? What is this? Sophie, tell me!" I exclaimed and watched as Davina looked like she was charging. "Kiana is a quarter witch, not just a werewolf with vampire blood in her system." Sophie laid the bomb on us.

"What?" Klaus whispered, shocked. I realized it immediately. Esther, Klaus' mother was the most powerful witch in existence. Of course it was possible that her grandchild would inherit something from her and Klaus was thinking the same thing.

"Who was trying to drain Davina of her powers?" I asked. Sophie shrugged.

"I have no idea, but I'll try to look into it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be going. My bar is awaiting my return and I can't have Camille do all the work there." An idea popped into my head.

"I'll walk with you to the bar, Sophie. I need some gumbo to get my mind off of things." I said and Sophie murmured. "Okay." Before grabbing her coat and heading out. I placed a kiss on Kiana's forehead, patted Davina and gave Klaus a long passionate kiss, before leaving the house with Sophie.

It wasn't long before we reached the bar and I had sat down at the counter, watching Sophie do her thing.

I decided to wait for a moment, searching and scanning the room for Camille, but she was nowhere to be seen. My phone started buzzing and I was expecting it to be Klaus, wanting to talk to me but it was an unknown number.

I looked at it for a moment, debating whether or not I should answer it but decided to do it anyway. I put the phone to my ear.

"Hello?"

"This is Jackson. I am one of the werewolves in the pack you now lead, my Queen." I listened carefully to what he was saying and I couldn't help but recognize him as the werewolf who had never agreed upon teaming up with the vampires, especially with Klaus.

"What is it that you want?" I asked. "The clan wishes to speak to you and seeing as you haven't visited us in the bayou for a while, we were all getting worried."

"I understand. I will be there tomorrow, first thing in the morning."

"Very well." This Jackson guy ended the call and I put the phone back in my pocket just as Camille strode over. "Duty calls, I take it?" she asked with a smirk on her face.

"Not that it is any of your business." Camille shrugged and took her position as bartender and I watched her carefully.

"I am on to you. Everyone else is as well." I said and she snorted.

"Things are going well for me, so if these are some lies in order to intimidate me, it's not going to work, Hayley.
