Title: Catch

Word Count: 146

I really should not have been writing this...I have a presentation due tomorrow for AP English and a three-five thousand word short story due Monday for creative writing. But I needed a break...so fanfiction happened. Yay! XD Thank you: Purestrongpoem, Shiary, Cockapoo, and DwarvenWarrior.

"Hey, Kee, catch!" Fili shouted, and lobbed a small wooden ball at his brother. Kili ran for it, and, diving, caught it, barely.

"Nice catch," Fili said, running up to Kili.

The dark-haired dwarfling smirked. "Bet you couldn't have made it."

"Oh, you're on," Fili replied, grinning. Running a little way away, he waved his arms. "Go ahead!"

Kili threw the ball as hard as he could, and it flew towards Fili, who scrambled backwards, arms flailing. He ran, arms outstretched, head back towards the sky, eyes fixed firmly on the ball. He was going to catch it. If Kili could, so could he.

He tripped, suddenly, and with a muffled curse remembered the stream running along the edge of their play yard. Kili laughed, then ran towards his brother. "You okay?"

"Yeah," Fili replied, then grinned triumphantly. "And I caught the ball!"
