I grabbed for my dagger. Oh wait. He took it. That evil son of a -. Never mind. I don't need to finish that lovely thought. He turned to face me and smirked. I was surprised. Usually I recognized important greek heroes. Nope. Not this one.

"Don't recognize me?" he frowned.

"No. Sorry."

"I am Ixion, once king of Lapiths, son of Ares."

For someone from Ancient Greek times he didn't look half bad. He looked like a teenager. Dark curly hair, tan skin, and a slight stubble. I desperately tried to recall his story.

"Gaea allowed my rebirth! Now I can walk upon the Earth and seek my revenge on Zeus and claim Hera as my own!"

I looked at him like he was crazy. The story came back to me. Ixion had been invited to Mount Olympus because Zeus took pity on him. He had murdered his father but he felt a deep guilt. Ixion had been introduced at the table of the gods and fell in love with Hera. Zeus banished him to Tartarus where he spun on a flaming wheel. Gruesome. Ixion looked at me with sad eyes.

"Yes, my story is one of pain. I'm aware."

"Then why lock me here? I can help you."

"How? Why should I let you go?"

"Um, I can get you Hera."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, but I can't call upon her here!"

"Why is this?"

"I need to make the proper sacrifices and such."

"That seems logical."

"But I need my friends."

"That doesn't seem logical."

"We are priests and priestesses of Hera! We must use all of our power to call upon the great goddess."

He grumbled something under his breath and unlocked the cage. I stepped out only to have celestial bronze handcuffs put on me.

"I am not going to fall for any tricks."

I nodded. He walked me back towards the area with the stream and I spotted Caspian, Amber, and Felicity on the tower. Felicity aimed her bow at us.

"Felicity!" I yelled, "Don't shoot!"

She lowered her weapon and said something to Caspian. He nodded and ran down the tower stairs. Ixion laughed.

"You call your puny friends priests of Hera? I doubt you all."

I decided I needed to appeal to this guys weaknesses.

"Oh great Ixion! The goddess Hera whispers in my ears! But her words are faint! I can't hear the mighty goddess, who I serve with my life. I must be at her temple!"

Ixion seemed to buy my theatrics.

"Then lead me there priests and priestesses, so that I may claim my prize."

There was a rumble through the stadium and Earthborn swarmed us. Ixion handed back my sword and cut my handcuffs. Ixion, being a child of Ares had no issues cutting through wave after wave of Earthborn. Amber, Caspian, and Felicity ran after us. Ixion kept leading us towards the darkest part of the arena. I wasn't sure if I should trust him, but something told me that the answer was yes. There was a metallic clang as Ixion cut through the steel doors that enclosed the arena. A burst of light washed over us and I was temporarily blinded. We flead as we heard a frustrated Gaea yell. We were back on broadway, at the set of Phantom of the Opera. Demons were attempting to follow us, only to be slashed to dust. Ixion looked at me unhappily.

"Now where can we find this temple of Hera?"

"Um, a little down the street."

Caspian took the cue and guided us back towards our camp. After walking through the destroyed streets we made it back to camp. Now what were we going to do with the evil, murderous, cursed, son of Ares?
