Chapter 36
Olivia laid down huddled in her cell. She felt sick to her stomach. She really gave up Fitz to protect Nathan. She was starting to hope she was never found. That the Guardian would end her life right here and Fitz would never know of how she betrayed him in the worst way. Yes The Guardian tortured her, yes he threatened to harm her son but still…she could never look Fitz in the face ever again knowing what she had done.
"How are we feeling today?" Olivia looked over at the Guardian who came into her cell. He walked over and kneeled down beside her. He couldn't help but crack a smile. Olivia looked utterly pitiful right now.
"You know, you shouldn't feel guilty about it. I mean…you're an attractive woman I'm sure you'll date again and Presidents come ever four to eight years so it's no big deal."
"Like you would let me out of here," Olivia said.
"This is true," The Guardian smirked.
"You won't hurt my son right?" Olivia wanted to make sure he kept his word on that if anything.
"Of course, I will not harm that boy," He assured her. "Beside….I don't even know where he is to do anything like that." Olivia tilted her head to see if she was hearing right.
"You…what…" Olivia wanted him to repeat that again.
"I was bluffing the whole time," the Guardian told her with a chuckle, "And you fell right for it. Thanks for the information on the President though. I promise we shall put it to good use."
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Olivia tried to lunge at him but was restricted because of her Chains. This whole time he was lying to her and she believed him! She betrayed Fitz, endangering his very life over a LIE?!
"Oh you got a little bit of fire left inside you," The Guardian laughed at her failed attempts to strike him.
"YOU BASTARD!" Olivia kept trying to break out of her chains so she could rip him to shreds.
"Poor Olivia," The Guardian grabbed her and Olivia tried to beat him over the shoulders.
"I must say I commend you for choosing your child over a man." He talked casually like Olivia wasn't just hitting him with everything she had right now.
"Now when you're finish let me know," The Guardian teased.
"Fuck you!" Olivia screamed.
"Alright," The Guardian put his mouth on hers and Olivia did everything she could to pull away while he fondled her.
"OUCH!" The guardian released her when she bit his lip. He checked to see he was bleeding.
"I was just doing what you asked," He looked almost sadden at her rejection.
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME!" Olivia yelled out.
"See you still have that fight in you!" The Guardian commended her, "Just magnificent. Here I thought you had been broken down. But a last, I warned you about stuff like that."
He suddenly kicked Olivia hard in the side against the wall.
"GAH!" Olivia felt her back hit the wall sending a jolt of pain inside her. She had not recovered fully from yesterday torture.
"I see you're still a little weak from that," The Guardian pressed his foot down on Olivia causing her more discomfort as he called one of his men in. The Henchman was very large in mass who wore all black as the others did. He walked over and pulled Olivia up.
"Anyway, I decided I would give you some fresh air." The Guardian started to undo the chains that bond her to the wall. He replaced them with another pair and the henchman picked Olivia up with ease.
"Where are you taking me now? I told you what I knew," Olivia said as they walked out.
"I told you I was giving you some fresh air," The guardian stated as they walked outside. Olivia was practically blinded by the light. All she had seen since she was here was darkness.
"Where are we going?" Olivia told him.
"So many questions," The Guardian chuckled as they saw some more of his men.
"What are they doing?" Olivia looked when she saw them with weapons.
"I train my men here," The guardian began, "When the proper time comes we will strike."
"Where did you get all the money to fund your operations?" Olivia asked.
"I told you your mother in law gave me money. See I'm not one of those, people that spend every dime I get on worthless expensive things."
"So you decided to use it on the Sons of Liberation," Olivia spoke.
"Yes and if everything goes according to plan I will have an excellent return on investment." They looked ahead to see some other men who greeted the Guardian. They were standing beside what looked like the in large hotbox.
"Open it up," the Guardian ordered. The men immediately pulled open the box which was no larger than a coffin.
"No…" Olivia shook her head figuring out what was going on.
"Drop her in," The Guardian ordered as the Big man let Olivia Fall into it.
"AH!" Olivia thought her back was going to break as she landed on the hard surface. She hit her head which started to make her dizzy.
"Now I know we've enjoyed each other's company but we must say our farewells now," The Guardian stated.
"Tell my brother I said hello on the other side." He closed the lid casting her back into eternal darkness.
"LET ME OUT OF HERE!" Olivia screamed as the door was locked. They placed a covering over it so that it blended in with the grassy surface
"Well that was fun while it last," The Guardian turned his attention to his men, "Now then, let us go on with our plans. Get everything ready for our departure we are going to the new location immediately."
"Yes sir!" his men told him and immediately got to work.
"Okay and this guy comes up clean," Abby said putting a side another agent. They were still tracking down the location of the mole.
"How many are left?" Harrison said a bit exhausted of looking over the files..
"The big man himself," Fare stated pulling the folder on the CIA director.
"As we know, Director Nielson was over the original investigations and also suggested the techniques that were implemented. His personal assistant currently is a Ben Stokes…"
"Ben Stokes?!" Everyone at the table suddenly looked up at Fare.
"Yeah," Fare looked through for a file on Stokes. "He's been working with the director almost two years now as an assistant."
"He also worked under Edgar Braxton," Harrison stated. Fare looked up when he mentioned that.
"He what?" Fare asked him.
"About two years ago we did a case for Edgar Braxton, Ben Stokes was the problem, because he had taken some documents…" That's when everyone in the room realized what had happen.
"Son of a bitch gave the information to the Sons of Liberation!" Stephen said.
"And been leaking more ever since," Fare placed down the folder showing Ben Stokes' face.
"How on earth did he get a job with the CIA?" Abby asked.
"Well if you guys are telling me right, it was never reported he black mailed Senator Braxton so it didn't really go on his record about him stealing anything." Fare got up.
"Where are you going?" Stephen asked.
"To the White House," Fare told them, "There's a meeting with the President about Olivia Pope's case. The director will be there with Ben Stokes." Fare rushed out the room to the White House. He got two agents to wait for him at the entrance as he entered the Oval Office.
"Agent Fare good to see you," Fitz greeted him.
"Hello President Grant, Director Nielson," Fare returned the greeting as he scanned the room. Sure enough in the corner there was Ben Stokes, taking notes being quiet as possible.
"Alright Agent Fare please begin your…" Fitz began.
"Forgive me President Grant," Fare interrupted him. Fare walked over to the corner where Ben Stokes was still taking notes with his head down. Fare pulled out his gun quickly placing it on his temple.
"Whoa there!" Ben Stokes jumped up becoming instantly pale at the sight of the gun.
"What's going on here?!" Nielson shouted.
"Ben Stokes," Fare began "You are under arrest for espionage."
"Espionage?" Fitz asked.
"President Grant, this man is the mole who has been leaking all information to the Sons of Liberation. He was formerly a staffer under Senator Edgar Braxton. He found the documents on the original case and tried to blackmail the Senator. The Senator of course took the services of a then Ms. Olivia Pope so he was dealt with quickly. Now he's weasel his way into the CIA."
Everyone in the room was stunned by this new information.
"With your permission President Grant, I would like to place Ben Stokes under arrest and interrogate him."
"Permission granted," Fitz said. Fare immediately snatched up Stokes and placed him in handcuffs.
"Hey easy there!" Stokes yapped as Fare restrained him. He called the other two agents in and they took Stokes into custody.
"I'll inform the others to prepare for interrogations," Nielson stated.
"No need Director," Fitz told him.
"I'm confident Agent Fare will be able to handle the interrogations."
"Yes President Grant," Fare spoke as he left out with the others.
"Sir, with all due respect…"
"I am not giving them another reason to harm Olivia Pope," Fitz snapped at him.
"Your recommendation while effective is the reason we are in this mess to begin with."
"Very well sir," The Director stated backing off.
"Good," Fitz looked over at his secret servicemen, "Prepare my car I'll be going there as well, to oversee."
Fare and the other agents took Ben Stokes down to the interrogation rooms at the Pentagon as Fitz followed behind with Cyrus.
"So Ben Stokes," Fare read over his file, "You're the one who has been leaking information to the Sons of Liberation all this time."
"This is some big mistake I haven't done anything," Stokes insisted.
"You originally worked under Senator Braxton and stumbled upon the documents as one of his staffers. Now he's dead and his wife has been abducted."
"I don't know anything about that!" Stokes told him.
"I can guess exactly how it went," Fare began, "You were working in Senator Braxton Office, just minding your own business then you happened to stumble across some special pair of documents. You read through them being curious and came across certain information. Those documents were about the Sons of Liberation investigation. You took them and realized what exactly Senator Braxton had done." Fare studied Stokes face to see he was on the right track so far.
"Later on, other staffers caught you sneaking into those papers. Senator Braxton tried to be kind and let you off easy by having you resign instead of being outright fired. However you took this as a great insult. How DARE he get rid of you? You decided to use the information that you had gathered and blackmail him with it. I mean Senator Braxton had one of the cleanest images in Congress this would certainly cause a stir. You didn't count on him contacting Olivia Pope who got you out of the way with ease.
"Once again humiliated, you decided to take your information to the one place you knew would be appreciated, the Sons of Liberation who paid you handsomely for it mind you. However that wasn't enough. They demanded you get them more information because now it wasn't money on the line….it was your life. That's when you took the job up at the CIA and became the director's personal assistant. I mean what better place for you to be? You're like his shadow, making you the perfect mole for a terrorist organization."
It was clear on Ben Stokes' face that Fare was right about everything.
"Now then," Fare stated again. "Where is Olivia Pope?"
"I want a lawyer," Stokes demanded.
"You don't get one of those here." Fare informed him.
"What do you mean?" Stokes asked.
"We are in the Pentagon and you are currently under charges of espionage. So you don't have those rights." Fare stated.
"So you're going to torture me?!" Stokes yelled out terrified now.
"No," Fare got up and took out a folder.
"We are charging you with accessory to murder and kidnapping however along with espionage charges."
"What do you mean?!" Stokes yelled.
"These are all the victims of the sons of liberation," Fare began to place them out one by one.
"First Victim, Senator Edgar Braxton," He placed out Edgar's Autopsy photo.
"Next Victim, Miranda Green and her son Kyle Green," He placed out the others.
"First Lady Mellie Grant and Son Jason Grant," Those two photos made Fitz flinch a bit but he kept his calm.
"Next Victims Senators Don Dixon and Senator Thomas Brisk," Two more photos were out.
"Lastly President Graham, his wife Paula Graham and daughter Lana Graham," Fare placed them all on the table. Stokes became horrified at the photos.
"Thanks to you…all of these people include 3 innocent children are now dead because you were greedy and wanted revenge. You wanted to get back at Senator Braxton and Olivia Pope so bad you cost the lives of nine other people. Once Olivia Pope is out the way I'm sure you'll really be happy."
"NO I NEVER WANTED THIS!" Stokes backed away from the table.
"THEN WHERE IS OLIVIA POPE?!" Fare ordered.
"I don't know she's probably at their base!" Stokes shouted out.
"Where is the base?"
"It's some Ranch out in Virginia they made me go meet them there once or twice.
"What does it look like?"
"It some huge space out near Fairfax, it has like a green gate on it."
"If I find out you're lying…."
"IM NOT!" Stokes insisted.
"Very well then," Fare rose up.
"Place him into holding," He called out as he walked out the room and went over to Fitz.
"I'm going to get the team ready and head there ASAP President Grant."
"Thank you," Fitz told him as Fare went to get everything organized.
Just hang on a little longer Olivia.
