I don't know where I am...
Everything around me is loud and chaotic, my eyes are squeezed shut from the fear. Unfamiliar voices all around me shout orders and strange medical terms. I don't know how I got here or who I am. All I know is that I am absolutely terrified.
"What's the status on 113-16?" a female voice of authority asks as I feel myself being pulled on some sort of cart.
"She won't open her eyes, and she's struggling," a deep male voice from behind me speaks as I struggle against the restraints on my wrists.
"Erik will be here in a moment. The two of us will talk with her. This will take some explaining," the female says as I hear a door sliding open and shut behind me.
"Let me go!" I scream, trying to kick at my captors, but to no avail. In between my distressed screams, I hear a person enter the room and I brace myself for more yelling and numbers. But instead, I am shocked to hear a calm voice from next to me.
"Can you hear me?" the man says, his voice with a texture like butter, "My name is Erik and I won't hurt you. Can you open your eyes?"
I cringe and shake my head furiously, not wanting to open my eyes. all I want is for this to be some sort of twisted dream.
"We won't hurt you. Please cooperate," the female says.
"Your majesty, she's not going to stop being difficult," Erik says.
"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Plumeria?" the woman, Plumeria, laughs.
"Please open your eyes," Erik requests with a bit more force. In fright, I slowly open my eyes and take in my surroundings. Mt wrists and ankles are bound to cold metal slab and the room is lite with industrial artificial lights. The man, Erik, is turned to me in profile and I can only see half of his face. His eyes are a brilliant amber and his almost black hair is slicked back. The woman couldn't have been older than seventeen, with her childish features and long cascading chocolate colored curls.
"Who are you? Where am I. Who am I?" I rattle off a series of questions all in one breath.
"My name is Plumeria Mulheim, Queen of the Lost Land. And you are Kiri Quinlan, and you died in the Hunger Games."
