Hey hey hey people! Don't hate me, but I've actually had most of this mini chapter written since I last updated... So, yeah. I just haven't had a chance to complete and upload it. But here it is!
For those of you who reviewed, BIG SHOUT OUT for coming back to me after all this time.
BUT.. here is the update many of you wanted. It's short because, well, it's a mini series. Maybe if there are enough reviews, I will update sooner. I certainly hope so!
Also, college starts tomorrow and if anyone knows me, I would rather write than do homework because I'm a procrastinator. That's good news for you guys! :)
Anyway, read, review, follow, enjoy. Whatever you guys want to do. I hope you like it!
Another Baby?
"Do you guys have to go?" James asked as Will and I unloaded our bags from my parents' care.
"No," Will replied.
I grimaced at him. I gave him two blow jobs for this attitude?
"Yes, sweetheart, we do. Be on your best behavior for grandma and grandpa?"
Lucie grinned at us. "Of course, mommy. Anything for you."
I smiled down at my little angel and kissed her forehead.
"Your mother is right. We do have to go. I begged her not to make me, so blame her," Will said.
James opened his mouth to protest against me, but I held up a hand. "Not right now, James. Mommy has a headache. Just be good, okay? I'm going to miss you guys." I pulled them in for a hug, kissing the both of them and letting Will say goodbye before sending them off with my parents.
"Must you be so difficult?" I snapped before turning and dragging my suitcase into the airport behind me.
"I was only joking!" he exclaimed defensively.
"Whatever, Will. You've been complaining about this trip since I mentioned the reunion. Why can't you just be grateful that we get to have vacation to London?"
"Well, I'd hardly say our ten-year college reunion is a vacation," he said, clearly trying to lighten the mood.
I stopped just short of the check-in kiosks. "Then why don't you just stay here, Will? Go home and take care of the kids, and I'll enjoy our anniversary. Alone. In London."
I could tell that hit Will in a sore spot. Before I could apologize, he said, "What's going on with you, Tess? You've been unusually snappy the past few weeks. Is it something I did?"
"Yes!" I barked, but then shook my head and sighed, reigning in my uncalled for anger toward him. "I'm sorry, Will." I turned and went to the check in kiosk, typing in both of our names and printing out our boarding passes. When I glanced back up at Will, he was eyeing me with caution.
"What did I do?" he asked in a soft voice.
I bit my lip. "Let's not do this right now, Will." I turned and got in line at security, purposely keeping my back to him.
But Will wasn't having any of it. He grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him. "No, Theresa, we're doing this right now. What's gotten into you?"
My jaw locked, and I raised my eyes to his, challenging him silently. "Fine. I'm pregnant again, Will. I was going to wait until we were home from our trip to tell you." I watched the emotions flicker across his face, one at a time, and I got a flashback of when I first told him I was pregnant.
This certainly wasn't supposed to happen. It wasn't part of our plan to have another baby. We had agreed two were enough. But now…
"But—how? I don't understand," he stuttered.
I shrugged. "I was on the shot while I decided if I wanted that IUD or not. It was supposed to be effective for twelve weeks, but it ran out about a month early. It happens, Will. We just hadn't planned for it…" I let my voice trail off as I saw his reaction. He was not happy about it. And somehow… Somehow, that made me okay with it.
It was my turn to go through security, so I gave my passport and boarding ticket to the agent and didn't bother waiting for Will.
The whole flight to London was tense. I was sure everyone on the flight could feel it, too. Will and I barely said a word to each other. I watched my movies; he watched his. I read my book; he read his.
When we landed, I simply could not wait to get off the stifling aircraft. Thankfully I was in the aisle, so I got my bag out of the overhead and got off the plane without my husband. I knew he would catch up to me and throw a fit about me leaving without him, but the sight of him sickened me.
Or maybe it was the pregnancy. I couldn't tell anymore.
"Tessa," Will said as he caught up to me while I efficiently navigated my way through the throng of people.
"Now you decide to talk to me? Not on the ten-hour flight, no, but now?" I said calmly, standing on my toes to see a sign that someone was blocking, directing me toward baggage claim.
"I was just in shock," he said.
I cocked an eyebrow at him. "For ten hours? Only you, Will, would make a whole trip out of being in shock."
He smirked. "So does that mean you forgive me?"
"No," I grumbled as we boarded the little train to take us to the other side of the airport.
He wrapped his arms around my waist. "What about if I go down on you when we get back to the hotel?" he whispered in my ear.
Ugh. It was so hard to stay mad at him. Damn him!
I smiled and turned my face to kiss him. "It's a deal."
So how was that for a quick mini chapter? Decent enough, I hope?
Review, and I might just update sooner than you all think. ;)
