Chapter 35
Luffy walked away from the dead Kizaru, stumbling towards Nami, and holding onto the railing for balance.
"Nami, let's head back." he said weakly.
Nami had spaced out and didn't hear Luffy. She was concentrating on what happened during that fight. That dark version of Luffy took over. Luffy beat him, but...
"Nami? What's wrong?" He held out his hand, but without thinking, she slapped it away. Luffy flinched. Nami shuddered and held herself again. Luffy looked at her solemnly.
"...Nami, he's gone for good now. I made sure of it." Nami ran up to him and threw herself against him, bawling.
"How can you say that, Luffy?! You said he was gone for good the last time, and now he appeared again! He said he would never go away. What if he does show up again, and does what he did here, huh?! WHAT THEN?!"
Nami couldn't even talk anymore as her voice choked up, and her eyes were stained with tears.
"There is one way to get rid of him for good, you know."
"Huh? What's that?" She said quietly, her face buried in Luffy's chest.
"If I defeat Akainu, I won't have hate stored up for him anymore. Yfful's source of existence will shatter."
"...Okay. I'm just glad you're safe...Let's go." She helped him walk, and they headed back to the control room to get the others. They opened the door to find Sanji leaning against the wall and Robin reclining in the chair. They gasped when they saw the bloody mess Luffy had become.
"W-What the hell happened to you?!" yelled Sanji. Luffy grinned.
"Kizaru...is...de-haaaa" Luffy fell over onto the floor, bleeding.
"LUFFY!" screeched Nami. She turned him over and put her ear to his chest.
"Huh-ah! His heart is barely beating!"
"We have to get him back to Chopper and fast." said Robin.

Luffy's eyes opened and closed a few times. He opened them and looked around to see the infirmary on the Sunny. His eyes returned to their original position and he sighed. He had an empty yet somber look on his face. He thought about what Kizaru said to him.
"Where I see a murderer, the people see a leader..." he repeated aloud. Nami heard this and came in from the other room.
"LUFFY!" she yelled and hugged him tightly. Luffy winced at the pain, but didn't say anything. He was happy to see her again.
"Huh? What's wrong?" She sat down next to him on the bed.
"It's nothing. Just thinking."
"About?"
*sigh* "Kizaru said that Akainu and Fujitora are on Raften, looking for One Piece."
"WHAT?!"
"Calm down. It's not worth it to go there at this point. They're obviously going to be back at New Marineford by the time we catch up. We have to go after them as soon as possible.
"...No. You're not doing this. Not alone."
"Huh? But I always bring you guys with me."
"Do you really? Unless I can't remember events from last week clearly, I specifically remember you fighting Kizaru on your own! And look what happened to you! You've been in bed in a body cast for a week, God only knows how much longer! If you're going to fight him, then we fight him together, not 1 on 1."
"Nami, I'm not putting you in that kind of danger."
"I didn't say it had to be me. Just please don't fight him alone. Please? For my sake?"
"...All right. Now then, we have to start preparing for this. We need to assemble all of our allies. This is going to be the first successful raid on Marineford in the history of the world!"

Luffy spent the rest of the afternoon making calls and rallying his team. When he was finished, he put his captain coat on and sat outside with his crew.
"So who'd you call?" asked Nami.
"Um, let's see..." said Luffy, counting on his hands. "Rayleigh, Jinbei, Hancock and her sisters, Aokiji, Sabo, Viola and Kyros, Tra-guy, Kidd, Drake (need strong supernovas), Buggy, Crocodile and Mr. 1, and the Whitebeard Pirates. Oh, and Shanks."
"...Luffy, are you sure you wanted Buggy to join us?" asked Nami with a disturbed look on her face, picturing how the clown could act in the fight.
"It's fine. Actually, he agreed to help us. I just promised him some treasure." Luffy got smacked on the head. Nami's fist was burning, and she was furious.
"You WHAT?! MY TREASURE?!"
Rose was laughing. "Daddy, you're pretty dumb for making mommy mad like that!" (Yes, she can talk now. It was about time).
Everyone laughed at Rose's remark while Luffy just sat injured on the ground.
"...Hey, Luffy, someone's coming. It's...Hancock!" shouted Usopp. Luffy jumped up and started waving to her. Everyone walked off the ship to meet her, with Luffy, Nami and Rose standing in front. Luffy turned around to face his crew as Hancock docked. He cleared his throat.
"Now then...Sanji and Brook. It would be in your best interests to be cautious around-"
"GODDESS!" yelled Sanji, heading for her ship to greet her. Luffy ran ahead and tried to hold Sanji back. But he became so caught up in doing so that he didn't notice Brook casually waltz up to her and ask her if he could see her panties.
Hancock's eye twitched in anger. "MY WHAT?!" she screamed loud enough for about the entire grand line to hear. Brook got slammed aside as Hancock brushed off her clothes, adjusted her hair, and walked up to Luffy.
"Luffy!" she exclaimed.
"Hancock!" he yelled, as he jumped up and hugged her. Hancock's face became red, and she fell over and gasped for air, holding her chest.
Nami simply watched on in awe, wondering how Luffy could be so casual around her when she acts like that.
"Alright, everyone, line up!" said Luffy as his crew lined up in order.
"Hancock, this is my crew: Zoro, our badass swordsman, Nami, our wonderful navigator who is also my wife, Usopp, our Sniper who's kind of a coward, Sanji, our lovesick cook, Chopper, our transforming, gullible reindeer doctor, Robin, our extremely smart and nonchalant archaeologist, Franky, our cyborg ship rite, and Brook, our talking skeleton musician." They all stood there smiling as best as they could. Hancock and her sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, all had their eyebrows raised in suspicion.
"And last but not least, my daughter, Monkey D. Rose!" said Luffy cheerfully, lifting her up into the air.
"Hiya!" she said innocently.
"O...kay. Um, Luffy, your crew is very...uh, interesting, to say the least." Luffy laughed with her.
"Yeah, the only normal ones are Nami and Rose!" Luffy got smashed into the ground by the rest of his crew.
"Ah...ow." he said, rubbing his head. Hancock composed herself.
"So Luffy, what's the plan?"
"I'll explain when everyone gets here."
"Luffy, another ship!" yelled Usopp.
"Who is it this time?"
"Uh, can't really tell...it's huge though."
"Let me see." Luffy walked over and looked through Usopp's spyglass.
"...Ah! It's Sabo and the revolutionary army!"
"Hey Luffy?" asked Robin.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think Dragon came with them?" Everyone stared at her, surprised she asked the question.
"...Let's find out." he said with a smirk.
A few of the revolutionaries walked off the ship, the few that Luffy recognized.
"Ivankov! Inazuma!" he yelled.
Emporio Ivankov and Inazuma walked off and greeted Luffy. Sabo and Koala came next. Koala just ran straight to Robin, whereas Luffy and Sabo exchanged high fives. Then he walked up. Monkey D. Dragon. Dragon took off his hood and stood there for a minute. Luffy turned around and walked up to him. For a while, there was silence.
"...Luffy." he said simply.
"...Hi, Dad." Luffy gave him a hug. Dragon was shocked, but returned it. Everyone was happy for them.
"Look at you! I haven't seen you since you were a kid." said Dragon. Luffy laughed. Rose ran up and stood next to Luffy. Her hair was jet black, and slightly longer than shoulder length at this point.
"Hi, Grandpa!" she said. Dragon stared at her for a moment, then looked back at Luffy.
"A little early, isn't it?" he asked. Luffy shrugged. Dragon and Rose laughed, as everyone fell over from the casualty of their captain.
Luffy was catching up with everyone while more people were coming in: Marco and the Whitebeard pirates, Rayleigh, Jinbe, Viola and company, the Supernovas, Crocodile, and-
"Where's the treasure?!"
"There is no treasure." said everyone in unison.
"WHAT?! YOU PROMISED ME TREASURE, STRAW HAT!" Luffy and Buggy were yelling at each other, while everyone else ignored them. Buggy was really mad, and didn't want to work with Luffy. He pulled out one of his knives and went for him, only to find it stopped in midair. Shanks was standing behind Buggy, holding onto his knife.
"What am I gonna do with you two?" He sighed.
"SHANKS!" said Luffy and Nami happily, Buggy angrily.
"You took your sweet time getting here!" yelled Buggy.
"Leave him alone! He's allowed to take his time!" said Luffy.
"I thought you were eager to get this done as soon as possible!"
"I am! But Shanks is an exception!"
You're an idiot!" They started arguing again.
"Knock it off!" Shanks said annoyed, and he knocked their heads together. He walked on to meet the others.
"Shanks!" said Nami happily.
"Nami! Good to see you again!" He looked down at the little girl at her side.
"Oh? And you are?" he asked.
"Monkey D. Rose!" she responded. Shanks spun around to Luffy.
"Luffy..." he warned. "You already had a kid?!" Luffy rubbed his head.
"Yeah..."
"Ugh...Luffy, I'm...I'm...so proud of you!" Everyone fell over. Luffy and Shanks started happily talking and exchanging stories as if they'd been together all along. The rest of the Red-Hair Pirates came off of their ship and introduced themselves. Usopp and his father got reacquainted.
"Hm?" asked Rose.
"What is it, love?" asked Nami.
"Uh, mommy, there's a man walking on water over there."
"What?" Nami looked over to where Rose was pointing. She was right. Someone was walking on the water towards them. He had a green coat on, and was wearing sunglass spectacles. He was extremely tall.
"...Luffy." she said firmly.
"Huh?" Luffy spun around.
"Aokiji's here." Nami pointed. Luffy looked, and started walking towards him. Everyone held their breath.
"Aokiji!"
"Straw Hat."
"Come on! Now that you're here, we're gonna get started!"
"Alright, I'm coming."
End.
Sorry I made the Dragon scene kind of awkward, but I did want him in the fight. Also sorry that it's taking a while to do these, but I'm just about on winter break now, so I'll speed it up. I've already planned ahead a few chapters anyways.
