New chapter

Boston, present day.

-"Are you ready?" David asked Henry as he put his hand on the doorknob.

Henry laughed and David opened the door. Almost instantly Henry stepped inside the apartment. He started pacing round the room and looked around.

-"So what do you think?" Regina asked as she sat on the couch, exhausted by the trip.

-"It's smaller than our house." He mumbled.

The brunette chuckled.

-"Everything looks small next to your mom's mansion." David retorted as he sat next to her.

-"This is cool." Henry finally said. "I like it."

-"Too bad I'm going to give it back to the landlord." Regina said standing up.

She went towards her son, and kissed him on the forehead.

-"When do you give him the keys back?" The boy asked.

-"Monday morning."

-"Ok!"

-"So…" Regina started. "You're going to sleep with me in the bedroom." She said pointing at the room. "And David will get the couch. That is of course if you don't mind sleeping with your old mommy."

Henry chuckled.

-"No it's ok. What is this room?" Henry said going next to the nursery room's door.

-"The nursery."

-"Oh! Can I see it?"

-"Sure honey." Regina said. "I'm off to the toilet. That baby is killing my bladder."

-"Too much detail mom!" Henry complained.

David laughed.

-"I'll put the bags in the bedroom." He said.

Henry opened the door of the nursery. The room was beautiful. It was yellow and green and the furniture were white. There were plenty of stuffed animals like a koala. He grabbed the bear and looked at it, tears in his eyes. He couldn't help but feel a hint of jealousy.

-"What do you think?"

He jumped and looked at his mom who had entered the room. He swallowed the tears back and nodded with a fake smile.

-"It's cool."

-"The new nursery in Storybrooke will be different…more cozy but it was fun decorating this one. David was really into it." She said touching the crib.

She smiled. She turned to look at her son who was looking at his feet.

-"Henry?" She asked concerned.

She went towards him and put a hand under his chin so he could look at her.

-"What is it?"

-"You were really planning on staying here, weren't you? You were not planning on ever coming back…to me…"

-"Honey!" Regina said. "Sweetie…"

-"If Emma hadn't called you about Greg and Tamara…you would have stayed here."

Regina sighed.

-"Maybe…I was scared of coming back…But…" She took his head between her palms. "You could have come anytime you wanted. I was…I wasn't sure you would want to. I wanted to buy this flat and I would have closed the living room to create an extra room…your room. You're my son and we've been through a lot this past years. I know I hurt you but I promise you to work extra hard to make amend for what I did to you…For you to forgive my mistakes. To be the mother you deserve."

-"You are the mother I want. I couldn't dream of a more perfect mother…"

-"Henry…"

-"Yes you lied to me and when I discovered that you had adopted me and about the book…" Tears ran down his face. "I thought you could not love me truly because I was not your biological son. But you were a great mom and I will cherish for the rest of my life the moments we spent and will spend together. You were always there for me and I need you again. Please mom, don't ever leave me again."

-"I promise you sweetheart. I promise." Regina whispered in his ear and she pulled him into a tight embrace.

-"What's going on here?"

The two parted and looked at David.

-"Nothing." Regina whispered, wiping the tears off her face.

She ruffled Henry's hair and he laughed, wrapping an arm around her waist.

-"So! What do we do now?" The boy asked.

-"Well we could go to the mall." David proposed.

-"Cool!" Henry said excited.

-"Ok then." Regina said. "We will eat there too. I'm starving."

David chuckled.

XX

They arrived at the mall after a few minutes.

-"It's huge!" Henry shouted. "Can't we have one like that in Storybrooke?"

-"Wow! I'm sorry honey but where exactly will we put it? Second it will sort of ruin the whole 'small city' vibe."

-"I must say that I'm with your mom on that one!" David said smiling.

Henry pouted.

-"Oh my God!" Henry said as a smile appeared on his face and his eyes widened.

-"What is it?" Regina asked as she followed Henry's gaze. "Oh!" She said as she caught sight of the comic book store.

-"Mom, can I?"

She smiled.

-"Of course. Do you want to go with him?" She asked to David. "I'm going to go grab a sandwich and you'll join me."

David nodded.

-"I love you." He said putting a kiss on her lips.

-"Me too. Have fun you two."

-"Ok mom. Thank you."

David and Henry went to the comic book store and the boy immediately ran towards some Thor's comics.

-"I'm guessing you're a big fan of comics." David said grinning.

-"It's awesome. I have a big collection at home. I'll show you if you want."

-"I would love that."

-"Mom doesn't really like them. She says that they're absurd and don't make sense."

David laughed.

-"Says the Evil Queen." He said.

Henry laughed.

-"How do you…you know…deal with this whole thing?"

-"Oh it's ok! I'm getting used to it. I just wish I could have my memories back…The more the days pass by, the more I feel like I'm missing a big part of my life."

-"I understand."

-"Especially when it comes to Emma. I know that she is my daughter but…"

-"It's weird. Well tell me about it. I was the one who had to make her believe in this whole fairy tale thing and that you and Mary were her parents."

David laughed.

-"Maybe you guys should ask grandpa."

David frowned.

-"Mr. Gold."

-"Oh right, he is Neal's father."

-"Mmhmmh!" Henry said nodded.

-"I don't know…There's something weird about him…I don't know if I can trust him."

-"Well if I ask him, he will do it. Plus I think he wants to be better. For Belle and my dad."

-"Ok! I'll talk about it to your mom."

-"Hum…About that…I don't think she would want to ask him anything except if she really doesn't have a choice."

-"I won't lie to her. We promised not to lie to each other anymore."

-"Ok! It's probably best." Henry said smiling. "Just bring it softly to her…You know…"

-"Yes I do." David said chuckling.

-"I have an idea." Henry said, putting a comic down on a shelter.

-"Mmh?"

Henry put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a wallet.

-You don't need to buy my affection you know."

Henry laughed.

-"I was thinking of buying a gift for mom. Since tomorrow is her birthday."

David's eyes widened.

-"Really?"

-"Yep! Last year we didn't celebrate it because….well…" He lowered his head. "I was still mad…"

-"Hey!' David said putting a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sure she will be thrilled. I can't believe she didn't tell me it was her birthday." He said pouting.

Henry laughed.

-"Come on!" David said finally. "Let's go before we join her to the restaurant."

XX

They arrived back in the flat hands full with packets. They had baby clothes and several other indescribable soft toys that Henry chose. Talking about Henry, he had convinced his mom into buying him a few more comics to add to his collection, some video games and also a few toys. Regina had flinched when he picked GTA but she gave in.

Regina went into the bedroom and slumped on the bed. David climbed next to her followed by Henry.

-"Can I turn on the TV?" The boy asked.

-"Sure honey!"

Henry grabbed the remote and jumped on the bed next to his mom. Regina wrapped her arm around him as David wrapped his own around her. She leant against him and he buried a kiss on her neck. After only mere seconds she fell asleep into her lover's arms and with her son next to her, rocked by the sound of the TV.

Boston, the next day.

Regina wake up to an empty bed. She rolled over and rubbed her eyes softly. She stretched her body arching her back. She felt a kick in her stomach and she chuckled. She put a gentle hand on it and stroked it.

-"What is it dear? Hungry?" She said smiling.

She pushed the covers aside and realized that she was still in her clothes from yesterday. She must have been really tired. She got off the bed and went in the living room only to find David and Henry activating themselves in the kitchen. She frowned.

-"Hello…" She said.

The two boys jumped.

-"Oh! Hey mom! You're awake."

-"I am indeed." She said still frowning. "What are you two up to?"

-"Nothing." She heard David said as he came to hug her with a grin on his face.

She answered to the hug still suspicious.

-"David and I thought it would be cool to go have a picnic. Like a brunch or something. You know like we used to do when I was a kid?" Henry announced.

Regina's eyes softened.

-"I remember. This is a lovely idea." She said kissing her son's forehead.

-"And if you're not too tired," David said, wrapping his arms around her middle. "There is funfair. We could go in the afternoon."

-"Well I see you two have everything settled." She said smiling. "Ok then. I guess all I need to do is shower."

She turned and headed towards the bedroom but was caught by David's arms.

-"Think of me when you walk this beautiful hands of yours over this gorgeous body." He whispered teasingly in her ears.

Regina couldn't help but feel a little aroused by his words and a grin appeared on her face. She kicked him in the ribs and left chuckling.

XX

The park was beautiful like in their souvenirs. Regina inhaled the soft sent of the flowers and smiled lightly. She felt like a teenage girl. A very pregnant teenage girl but still. It felt perfect.

-"So you guys used to come here often?" Henry said as he set the plaid on the grass.

-"From time to time." David said putting down the basket of food.

Regina sat on the plaid and put a grape in her mouth.

-"That was sexy." David whispered in her ear.

She turned to face him and smiled.

Henry frowned at the sight but he shook his head and grabbed a piece of bread.

-"So mom."

-"Mmh?" Regina said looking at him.

He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a box.

-"Happy birthday."

-"Henry!" Regina looked at him with wide eyes. "I…" She turned to look at a smiling David who was also holding a box and then looked back at her son. "I didn't know you would remember it."

-"Of course I remember mom. Here!" He said giving her the box. "I hope you'll like it."

Regina smiled. She opened the box.

-"Oh my God! This is beautiful. Henry…How did you…My God!" She grabbed the little gold bracelet with an 'H' and an 'O' attached to it.

-"You like it?"

-"I…" She swallowed the tears threatening to fall and put the bracelet on. "I love it, honey."

-"The 'H' is for Henry and the 'O' is for Olivia. David helped me chose it."

-"It's perfect! Come here." She said opening her arms and pulling him into a hug.

They parted after a few seconds.

-"Ready for mine?" David asked.

She looked at him smirking.

-"I can't believe you didn't tell me it was your birthday." He said faking a pout as he gave her the box.

-"I don't know…I forgot."

-"Yes right!"

Regina laughed. She opened the box only to see a beautiful gold necklace with a heart pendant. It had little diamonds inlaid into it. It was so pretty. As hard as she tried to fight it, tears rolled down her cheeks.

-"I love it. Thank you."

-"You welcome." David said kissing her on the forehead. "Happy birthday, honey."

-"Can you help me put it on?" She asked turning.

Regina put her hair aside so David could put the necklace on. Once done she put a hand on it and smiled.

-"I love it. I love both of them. It's perfect."

-"I'm glad you like it." Henry said. "Come on David, let's play." Henry said standing up holding a water gun in his hand. "You wanna play mom?"

-"Oh no! Thank you."

-"As you wish lady!" David said smirking and it owed him a slap on the butt.

He laughed.

Regina smiled as she looked at Henry and David playing. She rubbed her stomach gently and grinned at the sound of the bracelet Henry gave her. How did her life become so…perfect? She sighed. 'Stop over thinking.' Regina scolded herself. 'Just enjoy.'

The rest of the morning went perfectly. Henry and David had played like kids running after each other while Regina stayed on the plaid feeding her stomach and her baby's. She also allow herself into another nap still –somehow- exhausted after the long night sleep she'd had.

After the park the three went as planned at the funfair. Henry started looking at everything with wide eyes and Regina smiled at the sight. He was a baby boy all over again. Like he would get excited for the smallest things and look at it with a big brown eyes and mouth opened. She felt a little guilty for not having allowed him to experience that as a kid. Often he would look at advertising about Disney World and would start squeaking, amazed by all the 'magic'. But she was too scared. She would often ask herself sometimes how come this man -Walt Disney- knew so about them yet without really knowing anything. Because she had seen the Snow White movie and her alter ego was insulting.

-"I want to do that!" Henry said pointing at a roller coaster and it dragged Regina out of her thoughts.

She looked at the machine and raised an eyebrow.

-"Aren't you afraid?" She said.

-"Mom! I was kidnapped by Peter Pan…"

-"Still…Doesn't mean that you get to put you in danger…"

-"Regina?!"

The three turned to face the woman who had said that. A smile appeared on Regina's face.

-"Oh! Doctor Cooper." David said.

The fifty year old woman smiled warmly at them.

-"Look at you!" She said to Regina. "The baby is growing. I was a bit concerned." She said. "You just stopped coming."

-"Yes I'm sorry." Regina said rubbing her stomach. "I decided to go back to my home town…"

-"I understand." The doctor said grinning. "I'm just glad you are both fine and…you look happy."

Regina smiled.

-"Mom?!" She heard Henry said with a slightly annoyed voice.

-"Oh!" The brunette said. "Sorry sweetheart." She put a hand on his shoulder. "This is Henry. My son."

-"I didn't know you had a son. I thought she was your first."

-"My first pregnancy, yes. I adopted Henry." Regina said smiling at him and he answered.

-"Well it's nice to meet you Henry."

-"You too." He answered.

He turned to his mom.

-"Can I go to the roller coaster now mom?"

Regina sighed and looked at David for support but all he did was smirking probably mocking her worry interiorly. She fought the urge to kick him and nodded.

-"Cool!" Henry shouted before running towards the machine.

-"But be…careful". She said but he was not listening anymore.

-"She is a bit of a mama bear!" David said stroking her back and Helena laughed.

-"I just don't want him to be hurt." Regina argued.

-"I understand." The doctor said. "I'm here with my two grand-sons and it's a lot of work. By the way. I should probably go look for them."

Regina and David both smiled.

-"Are you back in Boston for good?"

-"No. We just came here for the week-end with Henry. We're going back home on Monday."

-"Well…I wish you both well." Helena said after a few seconds. "You are a very lovely couple and you have a great boy here." She said looking at Henry who was settling his protection rod. "And your daughter will have the most loving parents."

Regina tried to fight back the tears…unsuccessfully.

-"Oh…I'm sorry…I didn't mean to…"

-"Don't worry." David assured her. "Hormones." He mouthed as if Regina wouldn't see.

She threw him daggers and ignored him.

-"Thank you." The brunette said smiling. "For everything."

XX

-"You're sure you don't mind sleeping here?" Regina asked David as she put a pillow on the couch.

They had come back home for the fair about an hour ago and were exhausted. They aspired to only one thing: sleep. Even Henry didn't protest to go to bed.

-"No. Don't worry." He said pulling her into a hug.

She grabbed his lips with hers into a soft kiss that soon became heated. David's hand slowly went from her back to her ass and brought her closer. The brunette let out a moan as their tongue met. After a few moments, they parted.

-"Henry is next door. And he is waiting for me."

-"Mmhmm!" David said putting wet kisses on her neck and going back up to her jawline and then to her ears.

-"David." Regina said half moaning half grumbling.

He chuckled.

-"I know." He said parting.

He brushed his lips with hers.

-"I love you."

-"Me too. Thank again for this wonderful birthday. It had been a while since anyone celebrated the day I came into this world."

-"Well..." The Prince said sliding his fingers into her hair. "You better get accustomed because I'm about to celebrate this date every year for the next decades."

Regina smiled.

-"Good night my love." She said smiling.

-"Good night to you too."

Regina gave him a last kiss and went into the bedroom where Henry was sat on the bed. She smiled at him.

-"So?!" She said climbing on the bed next to him. "Had fun today?"

-"Best day ever." He said excited probably because of the sugar that was surely still running through his veins after cotton-candy he shared with David and the toffee apple.

Henry wrapped his arm around her and put his head on her chest. He put his hand on her stomach.

-"Do you think she is asleep?"

-"I don't know. Maybe." She said closing her eyes.

-"Mom?"

-"Mmh?"

-"When did you realized you were in love with David?"

Regina's eyes fluttered open.

-"What?"

-"I mean. You've known each other for a long time and you hated each other before…I was just wondering…"

-"Well…I don't know when exactly it happened. It just did."

-"It was before the curse broke?"

-"I…" She sighed. "He was kind to me. He showed me affection and slowly I let him in. I only wanted one thing…To let the mask slip. But I wasn't strong enough to. I was afraid that if people saw that I cared they would use it against me…But he kept pushing." She chuckled. "He is pretty stubborn you know."

Henry laughed.

-"So the mask slipped…almost naturally. And when it did…I saw that look in his eyes. That look that I never thought I would see again. Comfort. He looked at me as if he was finally home. And naturally…I freaked out."

-"I'm glad he kept fighting." Henry said. "I know I've always said that Prince Charming belongs to Snow White but…I think that nobody truly belongs to anybody. Love is something that grows…You can truly love more than one person. Like I truly love Emma and I truly love you."

Regina's heart melted and tears ran down her cheeks.

-"And you can also discover another kind of love with someone else. I'm sure David will always care for grand-ma but…the love he shares with you is maybe stronger."

Regina sniffed and Henry rose.

-"Are you crying?"

She shook her head and he smiled.

-"The hormones!" They said at the same time and they both burst into laughter.

Henry put back his head on her chest and she wrapped her arms around him.

-"I forbid you to ever grow up!"

He laughed.

-"Happy birthday, mom."

-"Thank you sweetie. It is a very, very, happy birthday."

Lana and Sean are hot! That scene. Although my little shipping heart would have prefered it to be with David but Lord! That scene killed me. And then I came back from the dead to die again. Lana's body should be put in an art store...just saying. (I'm slightly jealous.) Anyways.

See you in my next chapter.
