A/N: Here's another chapter :)

So, anyone else seen the Korra Series Finale. I read the creators' tumblr...

Apparently, Korra and Asami being in a romantic relationship is canon. My mind is kind of blown and I didn't pick up on any of the hints that they suggested were planned since like the second season.

What do you guys think of that? As I said, my mind was blown when I found out. When I make stories, if they ever involve pairings, they're always canon most of the time, so it'd be a new thing for me to write a slash fic, much less a canon one, lol.

I still think this story would make sense to start off as a Mako/Korra pairing, but if I make a sequel of a sort to this story where it takes place back in Republic City, it'd have to eventually veer into Korra/Asami territory. Tell me your thoughts in the reviews please as well as give feedback on the story so far.

"Uhh..." Mako was at a loss for words after getting caught unprepared by Toph's question.

"Look, we already know you're time travelers. Just wasn't expecting to meet my own relatives from the future is all," Toph casually explained. Mako sighed in relief, belatedly realizing how silly his worry was in comparison to...the last couple of days actually.

"So, how far in the future are you from?" Toph asked, nodding towards her daughter's general direction. She was genuinely curious. Lin was hesitant to answer initially, as she wasn't on very good terms with her mother, but what the heck? Toph was what, 12 right now? It's not like anything she said now could cause more damage than she, Bolin, Korra, and Mako meeting the gang like this anyway.

"70 years."

"So what are you to me?"

Toph's interested expression was weird to see on Toph's face, Lin had to admit. "Best for you not to know right now," the older Beifong replied in a dismissive tone. That and she didn't want to say daughter with such a blatant time gap present. Toph pouted momentarily before shrugging her shoulders.

"Fine. If it's important enough, I'll find out," she decided, nodding to herself assuredly.

Lin rolled her eyes at the scene, a hand still remaining on her hip. "Anyway," she began rudely, surveying the collection of youths in the cave. Was there not one adult in this historical group, she idly wondered. "Where's Avatar Korra? Punk kid, blue clothing, has a pony tail?"

"You mean him?" Toph pointed with a smile at the Water Tribe Boy, who looked less than pleased.

"Har har har..." Sokka mock laughed with absolutely zero enthusiasm. "And for the one millionth time...it's a wolf tail."

"Whatever."

Lin noted that her mother's personality didn't seem any different now than it did in her present time at all.

The water tribe woman spoke up this time, garnering everyone's attention.

"We've met her. She should be on her way back now, actually." She offered her hand to Lin, which she shook. "By the way, my name's Katara. Yours?"

"Nice to meet you. I'm Lin," she answered, pleased to know that at least one person in the cave had manners. After a short introduction from both parties, the new visitors agreed to wait for Korra at the current location.

Of course, to pass the time, it'd be difficult if no one tried to initiate conversation, which not surprisingly, started with Sokka.

"So..." he began semi-awwardly, studying the two new visitors with a critical eye as he simultaneously examined some maps he had on hand. "We know you're from the future and all, but where exactly are you guys from?"

"It's a magical place called Republic City!" Bolin began in a grandiose tone of voice. Mako shook his head at his brother's showmanship. "It's a city where benders of all kinds live together in harmony!"

That last bit of info peaked Sokka's attention. "Wait, even the fire nation?" He glanced at Mako before adding "Nevermind."

"Well, at least this means we know for sure the war ends on a good note," Katara offered with a shrug. Sokka rubbed his chin thoughtfully, eyes closed, trying to imagine a city where all four nations coexisted.

"Sounds interesting enough. Personally, I don't see that would work, but eh..."

Even Lin suppressed a smile. Sokka was the councilman of that very city when she was a child after all. Refocusing her mind on the reason she was here.

"Where's the other Avatar, Aang?" Lin questioned.

"School," Sokka deadpanned. Bolin scratched his head in confusion.

"Er, why would he be at school?" he asked no one specifically. Sokka shrugged nonchalantly, not bothered by the question in the least.

"Hey, I thought it was a bad idea, but he says it's to get more information and a "feel for the city" or some jazz like that."

"He should be back in a few minutes though. He's already been gone awhile."

Bolin nodded in acknowledgement to Katara's observation and the room became quiet again.

"I almost forgot!"

Bolin procured a hand sized book out of his jacket pocket. On it was titled, "A Biography of Toph Beifong"

Lin, upon noticing, the cover, narrowed an eye. "Wait, who authorized a book like that?" she demanded, pointing at the novel. Bolin looked down at his book in his hand, half shrugging.

"I dunno, Shady Shin was selling some copies of it."

"And you bought it from him?"

"Hey, this has some really insightful stuff in it!" Bolin shot back, somewhat defensively. Making his way over to Toph, he stopped a respectful distance from her, waiting for her to acknowledge his presence.

Seconds ticked by and Toph picked her nose.

"What?" she asked impatiently.

"I can't believe this is happening," the male earthbender was practically hopping on his toes.

"Can you sign my book, pretty please!" thrusting his book forward inches from Toph's face and holding a pen in his other hand.

"Did you really just ask me that..."

Sokka cleared his throat, as though prepared to drop some heavy knowledge. "You do know she's blind, right?"

Bolin blinked once. "Huh? Oh, I knew that. I meant she could just write an 'X' or something," he clarified before turning back to Toph. "Please! I'm your number one fan!"

Toph couldn't say no to a fan, could she?

"Well, if you insist..!"

Katara laughed at Sokka's expense after overhearing him wonder why he didn't have any fans.

Lin sighed inaudibly, impatiently waiting for Korra to turn up so they could find a way back home. It wasn't very enjoyable seeing someone feeding Toph's ego right now.

Her unsaid prayer was answered when a muted thump sounded outside the cave entrance plus a bit of bickering between two males. Cautiously, the cave occupants stayed out of line of sight for several seconds.

"It's Korra," both Lin and Toph said in unison, before they glanced twoard the other's direction in mild surprise.

"You can sense things through the earth, too?" Toph inquired.

"Yeah," her daughter replied, somewhat awkwardly.

"Huh..."

"That's good, Zuko and Iroh must be with her then," Sokka said, sheathing his weapon and straightening up.

They were expecting to see Korra walking, but instead she was being half carried by both General Iroh (to Lin's surprise) and Prince Zuko, her arms limply wrapped around either royal's neck, and her feet dragging as they carried her in.

"General Iroh?" the police chief inquired. "What happened?" she settled on asking, deciding to ask how he was even here at a better time.

Both Zuko and his grandson set Korra down gently on a makeshift bed that Katara had prepared, basically a thick sheet with several blankets acting as a pillow.

"Something weird happened," Iroh began, glancing towards Korra, who was now being tended to by Katara.

"As in?" the police chief questioned as they all sat down a small distance from the two water tribe women so as to afford them some space.

"Long story short," Zuko cut in. "Korra has a clone, that looks exactly like her, running around somewhere."

A/N: Sorry for the abrupt cut. Should have another chapter up sooner than later.
