Another name for this chapter is Kiss the Girl.
I'm not nervous, Romeo told himself. In fact, I'm perfectly fine. Nervous? What's nervous? Never heard of it.
Okay, so maybe he was nervous. Maybe he was very nervous. Maybe he was so flipping nervous that his hands were sweating and he was about ready to just screw it all and get the heck out of there. But then again, Mira was watching. And you didn't mess with Mira unless you wanted your butt kicked in an extremely painful way.
"Romeo."
He looked up, then sucked in a sharp breath. She was incredibly cute in that blue and gold dress. But of course, there was no way he was going to tell her that.
"You look… really nice." he stammered. Well then. There went that plan.
She smiled. "You look nice too."
Romeo felt his face turning red. "Uh… Yeah! Cool. Thanks. Um… Want some food?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Okay!" he grinned, desperately trying not to blush. "Let's go!"

Wendy had developed the conclusion that being knocked out had messed with Romeo's head the same way the poison had messed with Natsu's.
"Are you all right?" she asked timidly, making Romeo turn red yet again and choke on his food.
"Y-Yeah! Perfectly fine! Why do you ask?"
"Hmm…" Wendy didn't know what to think. It was clear that something was wrong…but he didn't seem very willing to share what it was. She attempted to change the subject as a new song came on, one she happened to like very much.
"H-Hey. You wanna dance?"
He hesitated, and she held her breath, waiting. Then he nodded, and Wendy let out the breath as quietly as possible, feeling extremely relieved. She took his hand, and they stood up, walking as close to the dance floor as they possibly could without actually getting on it.
They stayed there awkwardly for a while, holding hands and swaying a little to the music, until Romeo just decided to screw it all and put an arm around her. Wendy blushed at the contact, but didn't protest.
Then the song changed.
Romeo's face turned completely red as he realized what song was playing.
There you see her
Sitting across the way
She don't got a lot to say
Wendy blinked. Apparently she'd never seen the movie, and was wondering why the heck he was so red.
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
By this time, Romeo was wondering whether or not he should clap his hands over Wendy's ears or strangle the DJ. He chose neither, seeing as both of them would make everyone think he'd lost his marbles.
You wanna kiss the girl
Wendy turned completely red as Natsu grinned and obeyed the lyrics of the song, giving Lucy a totally disgusting, sweet, romantic kiss that lasted at least thirty seconds.
It don't take a word
Not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl
Romeo glanced up at the DJ booth thingy and saw (who else?) Mira, who waved cheerily at him. He swore to himself that if he ever got out of this, he was either going to kill her or hug her.
Depending on how Wendy reacted, of course.
Shalalalalala
My oh my, look at the boy too shy
He ain't gonna kiss the girl
Shalalalalala
Ain't that sad
Ain't it a shame too bad
You're gonna miss the girl
Romeo was seriously considering it now.
Shalalalalala
Don't be scared
You've got the mood prepared
Go on and kiss the girl
Wendy didn't know what to think. Who the heck picked this stupid song anyway?
Shalalalalala
Float along
Listen to the song
The song say kiss the girl
Shalalalalala
Music play
Do what the music say
You wanna kiss the girl
Romeo decided to obey the song. Here goes nothing…
You've got to kiss the girl
Why don't you kiss the girl
You gotta kiss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl
The song ended with Romeo kissing an astonished (but pleased) Wendy, with Mirajane almost squealing in delight. Almost no one else caught it, though, because the other members of the team were too busy in liplocks of their own. It was Mira's dream come true.
Romeo pulled away after a couple seconds, and the two just stared at each other, faces flushed, smiles quirking at their mouths. Finally, Wendy spoke.
"So are we together now, or…"
Romeo grinned. "Heck yeah."

Meanwhile…
"I wonder how long it'll take for them to realize I spiked the punch?" Lisanna wondered, drinking something that wasn't punch. Bixlow, sitting next to her, laughed.
"What did you put in it, anyway?"
The white-haired girl just turned and winked. "Just something to give them a bit more courage."
"You didn't put alcohol in it, did you? Romeo and Wendy ain't drinking age yet."
"Oh, what they don't know won't hurt them." Lisanna's eyes twinkled with mirth. "And plus, it's only a little bit. And RoWen happened."
Bixlow regarded his friend with admiration hidden under a mask of disapproval. "Mira bribed you, huh?"
"She offered me chocolate. How could I resist?"
He nodded knowingly. "Chocolate is an amazing thing."
Lisanna grinned back. "I know."
Chocolate. Bringing you the absolute cuteness that is RoWen. (Oh, and LiBix, anyone?)
Lalala, almost done! Just the epilogue and maybe a bonus chapter to even it up to exactly 40 chapters!
Just asking, I know Lisanna didn't have very much screentime in this one, so would you like to see more of her in the sequal? And Elfman as well? (They'd be paired with Bixlow and Evergreen, respectively.)
Well, that's all for now, and I'll see you next time! (Not really, since I can't look through computers…)
Water, out
