It was another week before I noticed the angry glances that Ron gave to Harry. He had even taken to sitting with Ginny, Hermione, and I during meals.
"Hey, Angel," I heard Ginny ask, "What's the biggest thing you miss about Harry?"
"Nothing," I said, "Why should I miss him? We share a room, classes, and dinner."
"Alright," she said, "I'll rephrase. What's the best thing about Harry?"
"His eyes," I said, "His singing voice is a close second."
"I didn't know he sang," Ron said.
"He doesn't usually, but he forgot to lock the bathroom door one time, and I had forgotten my hairbrush. I heard him singing in the shower. It was amazing."
"Seeing him naked or hearing his voice?" Hermione giggled.
"Ha, ha, ha, hearing his voice," I said dryly.
"Did you hear that they're opening a salon in Hogsmead. You want to go?"
"I-I don't know. I'm supposed to go with Harry next weekend, but I don't know if we still have plans." I heard a bang on the table farther towards the back. It seemed that Harry had just banged his head against it.
"I think he may have forgotten about the date," Hermione said, "and Fred and George reminded him."
"If he had forgotten about it... then he doesn't want to go," I said standing up.
"What are you doing?" Ron asked.
"I'm gonna write to Gringotts," I said, "I'm going to the salon with Ginny this weekend."
"W-what about the date with Harry?" Hermione asked.
"If he forgot about it, then he doesn't want to go. I'm not going to wallow in self-pity anymore. I'm going to have fun with my friends." Ginny smiled and hugged me close.
"I'm thinking of going blonde," she said, "What do you think?"
"Nah, your hair is beautiful. I'm thinking a pixie cut for you. I'm thinking gray for me."
"That would look amazing!" Ginny said. We got up from our plates and walked out of the Great Hall.
Harry's POV
"Why didn't you tell us you knew how to sing!" Hermione asked loudly as she walked up to me.
"Cause I don't," I replied, "or at least I don't think I do."
"Come on!" Ron said as he grabbed my arm. They dragged me away and into a unused classroom.
"Sing," Hermione said.
I sighed and thought of a song.
*"Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words - it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel," I sang softly. I opened my eyes, which I didn't know I had closed, and looked at my friends.
"Wow, Harry," Hermione said, "That was-"
"Awesome!" Ron finished.
"I was gonna say 'beautiful' but you get it," she said, "I think I know how you can apologize to Angel."
"I don't like the sound of that," I said.
"Thing is though... you're going to have to miss your date this weekend, and apologize on Sunday evening," she said.
I sighed. I was really looking forward to the date, but I would rather have her happy with me than just keeping her promise.
"Let's do it."
Angel's POV (Saturday)
I sighed as I watched Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the carriage ahead of us. I was sitting with Neville, Ginny, and Luna in the one directly behind it.
"Miss him that much?" Neville asked.
"Yeah," I sighed, "I feel this kind of empty feeling now. It's like... my soul isn't complete without him."
"You used to be majorly depressed," Luna said in her dreamy voice, "Taking your life is never the answer Angel."
"I still have no idea how you know about that," I said, "I know that now Luna, but back then, I thought it would be easier to take my life than to go on like that. Now, I know that it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem."
"But that doesn't stop the thoughts," Luna said, "We would all be sad if you left us."
"Thank you," I smiled. I hugged her as close as I could, which wasn't saying much considering our jackets were extremely puffy.
We walked the rest of the way to the new salon. Neville had come to just be our guard. We smiled as we sat in the chairs and asked for what we wanted.
When we walked out, I had even longer gray hair that was pulled into a ponytail with my bangs swooping over one eye. Ginny had a pixie cut with only her bangs swooping across her forehead.
Luna had dyed her hair completely white and had it permanently straightened.
Neville just looked happy to have three beautiful girls on his arms. He looked at his watch. "Hey," he said with a smile, "we only have another hour before we have to start leaving for the castle. Want to get a butterbeer?"
"I would love to," Luna said with a soft smile. She grabbed Neville's arm and pulled ahead of us. I smiled. Though I knew that they wouldn't end up together in the future, didn't mean that I could ruin their happiness now. Ginny and I made our way there, just slower. When we got there, Neville and Luna were talking with Madam Rosmerta in hushed tones.
"I'm going to touch up my makeup," I told Ginny. She nodded and I handed her my cloak before making my way to the bathroom. I pulled out my black lipstick and the "Love Me" perfume that Harry had gotten me out of my purse and touched them up. I sighed as I was finished and went back to the main room.
We sat there quietly for about five minutes before our butterbeers showed up. I didn't say a word while Ginny, Luna, and Neville spoke happily.
"Hello everyone," I heard an amplified voice from the bar, "Most of you guys already know me, but my name is Harry Potter. I'm up here today to do something I have been putting off for two weeks now: an apology." He looked straight at me with sad and nervous eyes, "Angel, I'm sorry I was a prick. You deserve much better than me, but I still love you. I promise that I will try to be more patient and forgiving. This is for you my dear, sweet Angel."
He waved his wand towards the piano which started playing a melody I knew a little too well. **"I can't win, I can't reign
I will never win this game without you, without you
I am lost, I am vain,
I will never be the same without you, without you
I won't run, I won't fly
I will never make it by without you, without you
I can't rest, I can't fight
All I need is you and I, without you, without you
Oh oh oh
You! You! You!
Without
You! You! You!
Without you," Harry jumped off of the bar and slowly walked towards our table as he sang. With every step he took I could see the tears that were welling up in his eyes. "Can't erase, so I'll take blame
But I can't accept that we're estranged without you, without you
I can't quit now, this can't be right
I can't take one more sleepless night without you, without you
I won't soar, I won't climb
If you're not here, I'm paralyzed without you, without you
I can't look, I'm so blind
I lost my heart, I lost my mind without you, without you
Oh oh oh
You! You! You!
Without
You! You! You!
Without you
I am lost, I am vain,
I will never be the same without you, without you
Without you..." He came to a slow hum at the end of the song. I felt the tears that were running down my face and off of my chin. Harry placed his fingers under my chin and knelt down in front of me. "Will you forgive me?"
I didn't say anything. I just threw myself in his arms and hugged him close. I started crying against his neck, and he ran his hands through my now gray hair. "I'm going to take that as a 'yes,'" Harry said with a soft chuckle. I nodded my head and buried my face into him some more.
