Chapter 37: Return of the Jedi Part 2
In the Brand New Death Star...
Darth Vader and the officer walk to the landing platform, where a shuttle was landing.
The shuttle's ramp lowers and the Emperor's Royal Guards come out and create a lethal perimeter.
Then the Emperor comes out of the shuttle causing Darth Vader to bow at him.
"Rise my friend."Sidious ordered.
The Sith Lord stood up and walked next to the Emperor.
"The Death Star will be completed on schedule."Vader stated.
"You have done well, Lord Vader."Darth Vader admitted. "And now I sense you wish to continue your search for young Skywalker."
The Sith Lord fell silent a little bit at the mention of his son.
"Yes, my master."Vader responded quietly.
"Patience, my friend."Darth Sidious stated. "In time he will seek you out and when he does, you must bring him before me, he has grown strong, only together can we turn him to the dark side of the Force."
"As you wish."Vader answered.
"Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen."Darth Sidious admitted.
The Emperor let out an evil laugh as they pass along the vast line of Imperial troops.
Meanwhile in Dagobah...
Luke and Marina went to visit Yoda, but the old Jedi wasn't in good health.
"Hmm, the faces you two make."Yoda said. "Look I so old to young eyes?"
Luke and Marina was sitting in a corner of the hut.
"No...of course not."Luke replied.
"Not much."Marina answered.
"I do, yes, I do! Sick have I become, old and weak."Yoda stated. "When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not, hmm?"
The old master chuckled before coughing and hobbles over toward his bed.
"Soon will I rest."He admitted. "Yes, forever sleep, earned it, I have."
"Master Yoda, you can't die."Luke said sadly.
"Strong am I with the Force...but not that strong!"Yoda stated. "Twilight is upon me and soon night must fall that is the way of things...the way of the Force."
"But we need your help."Marina admitted. "We've come back to complete our training."
"No more training do you require."Yoda answered as he lied back in his bed. "Already know you that which you need."
"Then are we Jedi?"Luke asked.
"Not yet."Yoda answered. "One thing remains: Vader, you must confront Vader then, only then, a Jedi will you be and confront him you will."
"Master Yoda...is Darth Vader my father?"Luke asked.
Marina looked at her cousin with a dumbstruck look causing her to wonder what he was thinking.
"Mmm...rest I need."Yoda answered. "Yes...rest."
"Yoda, I must know."Luke reminded.
"Your father he is."Yoda replied.
Luke and Marina looked at each other in shock.
"Told you, did he?"Yoda asked.
"Yes."Luke replied.
A look of concern crosses Yoda's face as he closes his eyes.
"Unexpected this is and unfortunate..."He said.
"Unfortunate that we know the truth?"Marina asked with a hurtful look.
Yoda opens his eyes again and looked at the two.
"No."He responded. "Unfortunate that incomplete was your training, not ready for the burden were neither of you."
"Well, we're sorry."Luke answered sadly.
"Remember, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force."Yoda stated. "But beware. Anger, fear, aggression, the dark side are they, once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."
He beckons the young Jedi closer to them.
"Luke...Luke...do not...do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor or suffer your father's fate, you will."Yoda warned. "Luke, Marina, the Force runs strong in your family, pass on what you have learned, Luke...there are...other...Sky...Sky...walkers."
A shiver runs through the ancient green creature and he dies.
The two cousins stare at their dead master as he disappears in front of their eyes.
Afterwards in the Swamp...
Luke and Marina walk back to where their ships were sitting.
Artoo beeps a greeting, but was ignored by the two cousins.
A few tears fell on Marina's face as she dried them away.
Darth Vader was actually Uncle Anakin and the one that really killed her own father.
But worse her own mother and Obi-Wan lied to both her and Luke about that.
How could they?
Luke looked at Artoo with a sadden look.
"I can't do it, Artoo."He admitted. "I can't go on alone."
"Yoda will always be with both of you."
Luke and Marina look up to see the ghost of Obi-Wan.
"Obi-Wan."Luke said.
"Ben..."Marina whispered in surprise.
The ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi approached the two cousins through the swamp.
"Why didn't you tell us?"Luke asked. "You told us Vader betrayed and murdered my father."
"You father was seduced by the dark side of the Force."Obi-Wan replied."He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader when that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed, so what I have told you two was true...from a certain point of view."
"A certain point of view?"Marina questioned with a small frown. "You made them sound like they were two different people."
"Luke, Marina, you're both going to find that many of the truths, we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view."Obi-Wan replied.
Luke and Marina sat down next to each other.
"Anakin was a good friend."Obi-Wan stated."When I first knew him, your father was already a great pilot like your mother, Marina, but I was amazed how strongly the Force was with them, I took it upon myself to train them as Jedi, I thought that I could instruct Anakin just as well as Yoda and my own master, I was wrong."
"There's still good in him."Luke admitted.
"He is more machine now than man."Obi-Wan answered with a firm look. "Twisted and evil."
"I can't do it, Ben."Luke replied.
"You cannot escape your destiny."Obi-Wan stated. "You must face Darth Vader again."
"I can't kill my own father."Luke answered simply.
"Then the Emperor has already won."Obi-Wan responded. "You and Marina were our only hope."
"Yoda said there were other skywalkers."Marian admitted.
"The others he spoke of was your older sister and Luke's twin sister."Obi-Wan replied.
"Huh?"Marina said in surprise.
"But I have no sister."Luke replied.
"To protect you four from the Emperor, you were hidden from Vader when you were born."Obi-Wan explained. "The Emperor knew, as I did, if Anakin or Seira were to have any offspring, they would be a threat to him that is the reason why your sisters remain safely anonymous."
Luke and Marina's eyes widen in realization.
"Leia!"Luke said. "Leia's my sister."
"And Celine is my sister."Marina said with a small smile.
"Your insight serves you well."Obi-Wan admitted."Bury your feelings deep down, Luke, Marina, they do you credit, but they could be made to serve the Emperor."
Luke looks into the distance, trying to comprehend this discovery while Marina looked down in deep thought.
In the Headquarters Frigate...
Seira was waiting patiently and was pacing back and forward in the main hangar.
The woman brightened up when she saw two familiar X-Wings arrive and land next to the other ships.
Seira rushed forward to hug her nephew and daughter.
"Oh thank goodness your both back."She said with a smile.
"Mum, Yoda passed away."Marina admitted.
An emotion of pain grew inside Seira which caused her warm smile to vanish.
The older master that taught her and her brother as younglings was gone.
The worst part was she never got to say good-bye.
"Not only that, we found out Vader is my father."Luke stated.
"And he is the one that killed dad."Marina commented.
Seira paled and looked down with deep sadness.
"You knew the whole time isn't, Aunt Seirie?"Luke asked.
"I wanted to tell you two for so long."Seira cried. "But I was scared of the consequences that might happen, if I told you both in the first place."
"Mother, you were afraid that we might end up like him, right?"Marina corrected.
"I'm so sorry, after Mason was killed by him, I lost the strength to tell you both the whole truth."Seira said as she dried the tears that were coming down her eyes. "I'm such a horrible mother and aunt..."
"It's all right, Auntie, we forgive you."Luke assured with a small smile.
"We are just a little shocked about this revelation."Marina admitted.
Seira smiled weakly and shared another hug with her daughter and nephew before breaking apart.
"Also we know that Leia is my sister and Celine is Marie's."Luke added.
Seira sighed and closed her eyes.
"Then you both will have to find a way to tell them."She admitted. "But now we have a meeting to attend to."
